I love watching her show, and after reading the book I feel like I really know who Nicole Curtis is. All of the difficulties and triumphs that she has encountered along the way, to attain where she is now! Really good reading.

I absolutely loved this book- I just devoured it in about 3 hours. It's so much like her show, her personality shines through. I have been a fan of the show for years and really enjoyed hearing the inside scoop about what went on during the renovations. It's nice to get some insight into her personal life as well, she's very candid. It's really an amazing American success story and very inspiring.
Great job Nicole!

I received the book on release date since I preordered. I love the show, and the book was a great read. I loved how she constantly repeated that each person's "normal" is their own and gave a great perspective of how her life has been molded not only by her choices but in many times her mistakes. Very personable and down to earth.

As much as I enjoy Nicole and everything she does, I was hoping for more how-to-rehab-a-house, nuts and bolts type information. However, this was more behind-the-scenes and personal reflections. That's okay too. I really love Nicole and her integrity, energy and passion. The best thing you can say about everything she does is that I'm always left wanting more; isn't that the highest compliment one can give? Looking forward to more seasons of Rehab Addict and more books.

The book was well-written. The pace and chapter lengths were worked harmoniously. The tone was genuine and fans got a good insight into Nicole's life struggles and how each lesson shaped her character and built her strength. Very inspiring as a working mom with dreams to save old houses too.

Nicole has earned her five stars .. I was unable to put this book down until I had read it cover to cover.. I remembered seeing her in every episode...to read her book and see how she struggled in her personal life during filming her show is a testament to her love for saving these homes.. She never lost her ability to keep moving forward . I was expecting this book to be more detailed about how to build or repair your home.. Nicole has a heart of gold and will continue to save old homes and hopefully continue to teach us to never give up on our dreams.. she is a hard worker and we need more people like her to keep saving neighborhoods one home at a time..

I enjoyed this book very much from Nicole's personal life to the story of her passion for saving old homes and the start of her tv show. She has had such struggles in both areas of her life but had overcome all. Book is written so well that I read it in two days. If you are a Rehab Addict fan this is a great read.

I was given the opportunity to read Better Than New via Artisan Books and NetGalley. This is my honest opinion of the book.

Nicole Curtis, star of the HGTV show Rehab Addict, was brought up to reuse and transform that which others might just throw away. Buying her first home to renovate at the age of 18, Nicole says that her projects all have taught her valuable lessons about life. Always independent, Nicole moved to Atlanta with her boyfriend, then to Tampa, where she worked and scraped to fulfill the vision she had of herself. Being in the right place at the right time, Nicole pitched the show Rehab Addict, a show dedicated to restoring old and neglected homes back to their former splendor. As a woman in a male dominated field, Nicole has had many struggles along the way, but she proves that drive and determination can open many doors. The book details the homes that she has restored, both on the show and on her own time, with the trials and tribulations that threatened many of her projects.

I have been watching Rehab Addict for years, so I was very excited to see Better Than New: Lessons I've Learned from Saving Old Homes (and How They Saved Me). It is amazing how much Nicole has accomplished in her life, with all of the heartaches, challenges, and pitfalls along the way. It is clear to see the passion that Nicole has for her work and the love she feels for all of her restorations. Readers who are familiar with Nicole Curtis and Rehab Addict will enjoy the behind-the-scenes looks at their favorite restorations. Regardless of a reader's familiarity with the show, Better Than New is a very motivational look at the life of a woman who lives life on her own terms and fights hard for what she believes in. I definitely recommend this book and wish the best of luck to the author.
