I bought this book for my husband for Christmas to read to our 9 month old boy. Both my husband and son love this book! I agree with another reviewer that if the daddy is not handy around the house, this probably isn't the best book for a father and son to read as it is all about Daddy's nails, hammers, etc to build a dog house. But my son loves to lift the flaps... but be careful because the little ones also like to pull the flaps off! We've already had to reglue one flap back on.

This book authored and illustrated by Karen Katz is a simple story of a father/son hide-and-seek game. The colorful illustrations are what I like the most, next to the repetative text(not the boring kid, I might add)and unfoldable items that reveal the hidden treasures. Perfect for a father/son reading. I recommend it! I will admit my surprise to see only four reviews written, though.

I ordered and got ...Daddy Hugs (Classic Board Book)
Karen Katz
This book is like love therapy for father and child. It brings out your loving feelings towards your baby. Always a good thing. I'm giving it to the grandchildren's dad because I would've liked to have something like this for me.
Although it has one minus for me ... I was flabbergasted at how Big and Bulky these books are. They weigh a ton, but will probably last for a long time if not thrown in the bathtub or otherwise abused.

My wife bought this book for my daughter. Great fun book to read together and keeps her interest. The flip pages are fun and durable. We did have to repair one but she pulled it pretty hard. I recommend this book highly.

Sweet, lovely, fun book for boys and girls that focuses on Dads who spend time with their kids--a doubly positive message. Flaps just tickled my two toddlers to no end, story and art is adorable. Will buy all the other books in this series. I also just bought a copy of "I Sleep At Red Lights: A True Story of Life After Triplets," by Bruce Stockler, a warm and wonderful memoir of a Dad's appreciation of fatherhood, for my husband, who (while a wonderful man) thinks he's a genius if he does one load of laundry.

Eh, another "Daddy has tools" book- sexist, trite. There is nothing "stand-out" about the book- not the flaps, the artwork, the writing or the theme. We have a lot of the Katz books and I am much happier when my daughter brings me "Where is Baby's Belly Button" than any of the family-centered books, this one especially.

Ordered this book because we have similar ones from the same author/theme.
It was cute but I was a little disappointed how the daddy was building something...not all dads are like that & a dad is certainly not going to teach a little girl that (in most cases). The 'Grandpa & Me' book has them making pizza which is much cuter than the 'Daddy & Me'. Obviously not the store's fault...the book was prompt & nice.

When building anything out of wood, you must first make all the proper measurements before making a cut.

In this book the author clearly labels the first step as "Cutting the wood" and then the second step as "Measuring the wood"

The author should stick to writing about a subject they're actually aware of.

We are very happy with this book. Although it is a little bit stereotyped, it has been great when dad and son are home together. We have other books from this author and collection and really enjoy them. It is a nice addition to our learning collection.

As a fellow children's book author/illustrator (Herbie the Erbie - What Are These Things Called Feelings?) I can certainly say this is a fun little book. My little guy enjoys lifting all the flaps and reading along with Daddy as we read through the book together.

this colorful and well drawn book is great for infants who love turning pages(and chewing on them!) the pop-up's are sturdy enough for their rough curiosity and my son loves the surprize of finding what's underneath.
