This book contains the surprise of all surprises. He didn't know what to think when he found the baby on his back porch. He had no experience with taking care of a baby, so he called the hospital. She worked in neonatal and taught guys what to expect with babies. He came to her class and sparks flew.

The story of Jamie and Allison and baby Samantha was heart warming. At times in the book I actually found myself laughing out loud at/with Jamie. It came to a point when the custody issue arose that I really wasn't sure what would happen. I would recommend this book highly. And now I'm going on to read Judith Arnold's book 2 in The Daddy School, Father Christmas. Have just read the first chapter and it's looks like another winner.

I really wanted to love this book. The premise of a Daddy taking in the infant left on his door step, falling in love and going to "Daddy School" to become a good dad. I figured the nurse who would teach this class must be a kind, loving person.....WRONG! I don't know if I've ever read a heroine I hated so much. She was a selfish, witch, with a I'm sooooo much holier than everyone else complex. Jamie the Hero I LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Allison the heroine well let me just give some examples:

1st and foremost when a guy calls and says he found a baby on the his porch you have him immediately bring the baby to the hospital and involve the police, a DNA test would have been immediately ordered and the child put into foster care until the results were found. Instead she assumes he's a worthless shmuck and treats him as such, advising him to go to the police and to her daddy school. Then when he shows up she again treats him like crap.

Instead of being a hero for taking in his baby girl and trying to do the best he can, she villifies him for daring to have protected sex on vacation. Any nurse worth her snot knows all birth control can fail even when used properly. So she reads him the riot act about sleeping with some woman, and says she can't be with him, but that since she's horny she has plenty of young attractive men to sleep with. (UM DOUBLE STANDARD MUCH?!?!)

She goes out on a date with him and gets royally pissed because he brings the baby, and this maternity nurse if astonished when the baby pukes on her ( Smart baby in my opinion). Of course then she hops into bed with him after less than a week all the while still believing he's a shmuck for sleeping with the girl on vacation.

Then to top it all off she is angry when he needs her, and angry when he tries to help save the Daddy School and would rather the program close then him help fund it. Seriously get over yourself girl!

Another thing that really bothered me was the mom gets off scott free even after taking the baby back then deciding she didn't want it. I think a battle with the mom would have been a far better story, and Allison should have been a decent human not a total B**CH.

This story had great possibility but failed miserably, the only reason I'm giving it a generous two stars is because the author does write well.

Well.... This definitely is a rude awakening for men.... Learn to take care of a child without the mother in their life. I hope this is an eye opener that a woman who takes care of a child is a jack of all trades

The writing is very....interesting. To be honest the only reason I plowed through it was because I like babies. And really, a guy is not the "scum of the earth" for taking precautions with protections and accidentally getting someone pregnant, someone he thought he'd might try to be with. He even takes responsibility and tries to act like a good dad! And the female protagonist is so freakin judgmental! I can see why she doesn't have many friends.

Delightful read and kept my interest nicely. In fact I enjoyed so much, I purchased the Daddy School #2 book Father Christmas. It was also fun light reading that made you feel good. I like Judith Arnold's writing style and will buy more of her books.

Was surprised to find that I thoroughly loved this book. Jamie's point of view was refreshing. Not just a woman attempting to think like a man. It seemed as if she had charged herself with testosterone before writing his story. Allison was also a delight. Nice to see a leading lady with a moral compass. Can't wait to read the rest.

I absolutely love Jamie's horror at the suggestion that the baby who had been left on his porch just hours before was not his child. "Look how blond she is! I was blond when I was a baby." !!! he argues.
Arnold describes the rapidity of bonding (not only with babies), so that within a flash the hero is totally convinced the 2-week old is his and he will find a way to look after her.
A delightful story, beautifully written. Gwendoline Ewins

I like Judith Arnold's books. However, I think I am growing/maturing out of them, if that makes sense. The story was predictable, cute, but boring. I liked the characters but there was no zing in the plot.

I really enjoyed this quick read. The characters were great and the importance of love, family, life and growing up all come together in the well crafted sweet story.  Book that will make you laugh and smile and realize what really matters in life.

I absolutely love the story. If had me laughing throughout the book. Jamie has a very good sense of humor and I love the way he made jokes about very serious things in his life. This proves that you can have problems but they don't have to control you or life decisions. A wonderful start for the series.

Interesting and different. I really enjoyed this book because it wasn't the run of the mill romance I so often find myself reading. I liked all of the characters and found I could relate to the story. It is a series and I usually avoid them. However I just may read the next book. If you love babies and romance read this book.

I love the way Judith Arnold brings her characters to life and lets us hear inside their minds. The dialogue his so funny and fast paced. And her lead man is a sweet, sexy, funny guy to boot. I was ready to go right into the next book to find out what would happen with the other characters she introduced to us in this book.

Father Found The Daddy Day School Series was so amazing. This was my first Judith Arnold book and it will definitely inspire me to seek out other books written by this author. The premise of the story was believable and likable. When Jamie a confirmed bachelor found a baby on his back porch with a note saying it was his daughter after a fling 9 months ago on vacation, my heartbeat hammered in my chest with anger. Jamie had no idea how to care for a newborn, so he called the local hospital seeking help. Allison was a nurse at the hospital and happened to teach a new father's course to expectant fathers. Jamie was referred to her class. After a few classes, a tug of war in sues between Jamie's heart and doing what was best for his daughter Samantha. Jamie enlisted Allison's help as often as possible in hopes to getting to know her better, and especially since he really wanted her in his life. Then a few weeks later, Jamie finally decided he could manage to raise his daughter with Allison's help, Samantha's mother reappeared and ask for her daughter back. Through tears and pain and screaming at the pages on my kindle and cursing
Samantha's mother for being such a witch, It was evident things would only get worse before getting better. Meanwhile, Allison and Jamie were at a crossroad in their relationship because of Samantha's mother. The story as a whole was brilliantly written and happily in the end love
prevailed..

Jamie & baby Samantha are delightful. Mix in a beautiful, talented neonatal nurse - and you have a delightful and readable tale, filled with love, laughs, and lots of interaction among a cute, folksy grandma, two sisters, and the main trio.
You can't miss with Arnold's new book.

This is a lovely story about a vacation affair that leads to a baby girl being born. The Mother decides she doesn't want the baby, so she drops the baby off on the back porch steps with a note. The Father begins an adventure that will bless you. I really enjoyed this read.
