Absolutely loved the continued saga of the Brendan Chronicles ! Took me far to way I expected to the plight of the Navajos & the horrific disregard for there culture . Made me so ashamed yet proud of the few that cared enough to recognize the injustice. Hoping CARRIE finds love again in the next book, however she needed to heal. I love all 10 books of this historical packed brought to life in a personal way ...

I have read these books since they were published under Virginia Gaffney,. Have loved the characters, cried and laughed with them...However in the last couple books I have felt a polical agenda and author pushing of ideals and morals and watched the slow fade from God to self justification, and truly wish I had stopped when my heart told me too. This book was terrible. The story dragged, & the characters lagged. I read to escape, to learn, and to grow closer to God. That has ceased since book 7. And truly, I feel totally betrayed by the author. I wish I had followed my gut, & stopped at 8.

Thanks for enlightening me with the knowledge of the history of the south, and how the Indians were so badly treated. You are so good at telling an extremely in depth history. I look forward to your next book.

I read your blog, and found that you truly are an exceptional woman. I support you completely.

As with Dye's previous nine books in these Chronicles, I simply did NOT this book to end!! So very interesting and heartwarming. The characters are so believable, it feels as if you truly know them. Dye is a master at character development. I can easily picture each and every scene. Don't miss this wonderful page turner!!!

The saga of Carrie Cromwell Borden, her family, friends, and acquaintances continues. It's interesting to read as the characters grow and mature, meeting the many delights and challenges they encounter. Readers get a glimpse of life for Native Americans at that time in history; one that is often overlooked or downplayed. We look forward to the next volume.

This book is much better than the first nine. Not in the historical aspect but the flow of the book and the sentence structure was better than the previous ones were. It was as if Ginny had taken a writing class between nine and ten. In all I have learned more about the civil war than I ever knew. I have not finished ten but am in the process. Looking forward to number eleven.

I loved it and did not want this beautiful book to end. I am so happy that new people have been added . If you are a fan of this period of time I suggest you start at the very first book? I am sure everyone who has waited has finished this last book ? I hope we don't have to wait to long for the next.

This continuation of the Bregden series is every bit as entertaining as all of the others. It is interspersed with historical events. It does not gloss over nor romanticize life post-Civil War. It even gives food for thought for the past and the future. Very entertaining! Excited to see where the next book in the series will take us.

I purchased this book the day it was released and finished reading it in 2days ( I am retired ) and I just love the story line with the history. Your characters become very real to me, making me laugh and cry. Now I will re read this book as I have re read the first nine. I am so thankful for finding this series that I cannot help but recommend them to every one I talk with. Keep up the excellent work Ginny Dye

Another great book in the Bregdan Chronicles series. While I wait for Ginny's next book, I'm going back to the first book in the series and reading it again. How wonderful it is to revisit these characters knowing what things lie in store for them in their futures. I'm loving it. Meeting Carrie, Robert, Rose and Moses again from the beginning and now that I love them gives me chills. And visiting Sarah again!!! Wonderful!

Cannot get enough of reading your books! Each one gets better and better. Cannot wait to read the next one. This one was beautifully written. So sad, but it helped me to understand the sad things that happened to the Navajo tribe. Thank you for giving me the history of them. Best book in your series,,,in my opinion.

I just finished reading Walking into the Unknown and so wish I could have the next volume to continue! I love the history which is so clearly explained through the various characters who have become like family in my mind. I cried, I laughed, I paused to reread some profound statements. It is the only series in which I've been drawn in by the very first paragraph of the book!!! I continually look forward to what is happenning with each and every character, including the ones newly introduced as we walk into the future!! Thank you for continuing to write this amazing story of our lives!!!

I think this series is outstanding. Ginny seems to capture all types of personalities, feelings and beliefs. I love how she doesn't hesitate to add REAL LIFE dynamics. I believe human life is just that! Humans are male, female, black, white, yellow, red, bi sexual, heterosexual, gay, transgender, transvestism, what ever. We are all equal. And should be treated as such. I grew up a white female in the mid 60's, I for the most part had a somewhat easy childhood. I couldn't imagine growing up the way the characters do in Ginny's books. I praise her for putting it out there. I look forward to many more books of this series.

I started reading these series of books looking for a great escape from the rhetoric of day to day life. I got so much more! I have received history lessons and the willingness to ignite a fire within to try a change things that are happening in our country today. I found myself wishing that these characters were actual real people in history. I want to meet them, have a conversation with them and stand by them in their endeavors. I have cried, laughed and supported them in each turn of their lives. Job well done in keeping us entertained and to get us thinking on what we can do as one person to help our fellow person. Thank you and keep them coming.

Another great book. I’m always in wonder how any person can develop such terrific books. Again, this book takes us through good times to troubled times and back again. So much like our own lives. Thank you.

I felt the respect to history was wonderful and had many lessons we would do well to take note of in this day and time. Also, I enjoyed the addition of some new characters. They made the story even more interesting. Am looking forward to the next book. Thank you Ginny Dye.

Ever since our visits to Vicksburg and Gettysburg Battlefields I have been taken in to Civil War History. Bregdan Chronicles has brought to life the people and their personal struggles through this time of our history. Your wonderful writing Ginny has made these characters my neighbors and family. It is too hard to wait for each new book so I go back and re read them. I can't help wonder when the movie is coming out, and hope I live long enough to see it.Thank you for your dedication to your writing. I was not aware of my Irish Heritage I found there also.

Great historical detail . Well written and good characters. I have read the entire series and will read the rest when published. My only concern is that the characters are tending to be a little too preachy and do gooders. That said, the books are an excellent way to revisit history and some new perspectives.

When I started the first book, I was hooked right away. I couldn't put the book down until I finished it as with the other 9 books. Since I am a Civil War buff and these books are very accurate, I even googled a few facts I didn't know about. They were right on target! It is fascinating to follow these characters through the years. I have spread the word about this series to others. I even told a clerk in an amusement park about them. She loved Historical fiction and actually wanted to be an author. I eagerly await the arrival of each new book. Thank you so much for this wonderful series.

I have read every book in the series, and Walking into the Unknown continues the rich tradition of characters, plot twists and surprises. The characters are, as in all the volumes, very richly developed. The author is not hesitant to surprise the reader with unexpected plot developments. One surprise (disappointment?) I see in reviews and among fans of the Bregdan Chronicles is the paucity of male readers. These books are not female-specific, and students of history, male and female, will learn much about period life from the exhaustive research that underpins the writing. Please keep them coming!

Please - write faster! LOL Can hardly wait to see what develops with the characters next. I feel like I know them all very well and run the gamut of emotions as they do. Also, the amount of research you do is magnificent. Better than any history book. Keep up the good work.

Ginny Dye does it again. She has done her research on the Santa Fe Trail and the Indian situation in the west after the Civil war. She continues with the characters from the series and moves them forward through history with an accurate account of history.

I started and continued with this series because I love historical fiction about the civil war. Even when I learned the story line had moved the heroine to the Southwest and the plight of Indians, I read on because I had to know what happened to all of the main characters in the book. The fact that it was not centered in Virginia took away much of my interest. Sorry to say that if the next book is not in the South, this will probably be my last book to read in the series.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Bregdon Chronicles. Full of history, suffering, love, joy. So sad Robert couldn't have still been in Carrie's life. Cried in last book (9) and still cried at times in this book(10). Anxiously awaiting the next in November!

Ginny Dye is a great storyteller and historian. She researches events that I've not heard of but were an impact in history and continues to this day. Each book has a separate time in history and the characters fit well into the events. I love her characters, plots, and subplots.

I absolutely love this book ! Just when I thought the series couldn't get any better it does. I love reading about the old characters as well as the new ones that have been added. I have learned so much about history and appreciate all the work and research that goes into these books. As long as you keep writing them I will keep reading them. I always read them to fast is my only problem.

Ginny didn't disappoint. This book continues the Carrie saga but takes you out west. I just love the character development and can just picture some of the hardships and triumphs of each character as they grow, develop and react to what's going on around them. Can't wait for the next one!

I love all her books but am finding myself annoyed with things that do not fit the period like a whistling teakettle which wasn't invented until much later and phrases like business model, really? I think she can do better!

Have read all ten...Love her stories. Would recommend everyone read
them...full of knowledge, hope, love. Very realistic...gives insight of
"back in the day".
Bad news: Have to wait months for the next one!!

The book seems like a history lecture most of the time. I actually find myself rolling my eyes. Used to love this series. Now it is impossible for them to just live their lives. Instead the author expects us to believe that one family is basically at most of the important events, tragedy and places in the US during this time. I was OBSESSED with the first 8 books. Should have stopped there. Now I am just reading because I wanted to give it a chance. There is no hope, no God, no prayer, no anything except tragedy and TOO many characters to keep straight.

As a veteran social studies teacher of 31 years, I am a stickler for historical accuracy. I have actually looked up some of the events in this series of books to see if the event really happened, and happened as Ginny Dye describes it. Every time, she has been historically accurate...so accurate that I no longer look up the events in her books. I already know that her books have been painstakingly researched. Excellent series!!

I have read every book in the Bregdan Chronicle series and I cant wait to get the next one. I have neverreadany civil war books that held my interest as these do. I love all the characters, including the new ones introduced in each new book. I am drawn into their lives and feel their pain and joy. I love the historical significanork.ce and the way Ginny Dye has of portraying the effects of historical events on so many people. Keep up the great work Ginny Dye!

I am an 80 year old great grandpa and all of my children and grandchildren are aware of what it teaches and the direction it has given my life! Thank you Ginny Dye!
