Red Letter Edition - NIV Study Bible

The print was much larger then stated. The Bible was extremely heavy. It was not what I wanted for Church.
I returned it and only received $25.86 refund. I paid $58.39 for this item and it was a prime purchase. I now must dispute $32.53.

This is an excellent study Bible. It is large print and easy to read with adequate borders to make personal notes. I love all the study notes on the Scripture placed at the bottom of the page and the maps and other study aids placed in the Bible where they apply instead of being in a seperate section at the end of the Bible. I'm extremely pleased with this NIV Study Bible.

"Large print" for Bibles means 12 point font, much smaller than true large print. This is not just for really old people, but anyone who's starting to squint at their Bible. Study notes are on every page, and are excellent (evangelical viewpoint).

If you need really large print in a Bible, you're looking for what they call "giant print".

Very nice. Read other reviews about faded print but did not find that to be true with mine. I was hoping for a larger print - I think that giant print is what I expected by them the already huge size of the bible would require a set of wheels and maybe a small two stroke engine. It's a BIG bible - not for taking to church but rather studying at home.

The leather on this Bible is "European Leather" and smelled just like a new pair of boots. The back cover is marked "European Leather".

Binding: The binding does look sewn. It does not state that it uses the "Smyth" method, but I definitely saw threads when I was breaking it in.

The paper is not "French India" but it has a nice "slip" to it. The margins are not wide, but it suits my purposes as I do not want to write in it.

The gold on the edges of the pages is not sprayed on. It is gold foil gilt, so be careful when first breaking it in. As with all gold foil gilt the pages will stick together.

It is a good semi-premium Bible. Because it is so thick, I will have to take care with the binding. But that is the case with all books.

The print was large as indicated and there was nothing that I didn't like except I had ordered the wrong version. I had wanted NLT and ordered NIV instead so had to return it. I am now in business with the new NLT.

Nice study Bible! A co-worker brought her copy to work for me to check out. It works for my needs. I typically use the Bible.is or HolyBible app to listen to the Bible and for quick look ups. I utilize this Bible when I want additional explanation and feedback. The size is no issue for me; it is used in the home.

This was bought as a gift for someone. They seem to be very pleased with it. It has lots of footnotes and study references. It's also VERY large and heavy, so it's a good idea to have a Bible cover to carry it. Great study Bible.

Received the large print NIV Study Bible this week which was bought as a gift for my wife. An amazing book which seems more like a library reference work due to its huge size and weight. Perhaps this edition is proof that there is only so much that can be put into one volume before it becomes unmanageable. For the Christian without a basic theological library this is a great resource. Zondervan has done an amazing job with the content. But, for many people it will require a lightweight "go to church" companion. If you wouldn't want to carry a very large dictionary with you then this can't be you sole Bible. As to it's physical construction it is not a premium Bible.

Loved this Bible. It lays flat which is much better than the hardback I already had. Wish I could find one like this except slightly smaller print that I could carry to Sunday School and Bible Study a little easier.

Overall I am satisfied with the quality of this bible considering the money spent. It however does not have very large print. This bible is very large, and heavy, so probably best to leave at home. If you choose to carry it, and want to protect it, you'll find it almost impossible to find a suitable cover, and if you do find one, it'll cost more than you paid for the bible. This is a great study bible.

This bible was beautiful. Full of wonderful pictures and maps and lots of helpful information. Large print was very easy to read. Unfortunately, it was so heavy that we had to send it back, as my husband could not lift it very easily.

It is just like reading a history and art history book. I love the color photos and maps as well as print that is like reading a school text book. It is wonderfully created and as a bonus very pretty to look at.

Bible as described, and of exceptional quality. Received promptly. Would recommend to anyone wanting to study the NIV Bible. Large print easy for a 90year old to read. Very happy with this purchase.
