Firstly, I should state up front that I am, unabashedly, a huge fan of Ellery Adams. I love her books and believe this is her best. It seems to me that fans of cozy mysteries are more invested in the characters who reside in the books and their environs. The mystery itself is almost incidental. Lethal Letters follows Olivia Limoges and the Bay Book Writers on a new adventure into crime detection. I never discuss plot in my reviews as so many give away too much. Often the murderer is apparent to me before the big reveal but I was torn between three possible ne'er doers. All I'll say is I was both right and wrong. Another confession: I am a weeper. Yes, Ellery brought me to tears again, not because of any single event but simply because it was such a satisfying read. I was so torn between wanting to read slowly to make the book last and speeding through it because it was such a great ride. Read this book! And if you haven't read all her books, well, what are you waiting for?

This wonderful book is number six in the Books by the Bay series. Ellery Adams has made each of these books a loving and warm novel. In the episode a lot is going on. First off a time capsule is found which sets us up for the deep dark secrets we love to investigate . The excitement builds with a fund raiser where you just know there is something hidden. And when Olivia Limoges finds a dead body on the beach we are head long into the adventure. As always there are loving and personal scenes involving Olivia and her friends and family . We are rewarded with the return of our favorites from the first five books. There is Captain Haviland, who is the only poodle I have known that I like. Laurel, Harris, Dixie and Grumpy make an appearance . Least I forget our favorite love interest Sawyer Rawlings. Oh did I mention there are two weddings . I always cry at weddings- in fact I always cry while reading Ellery Adams.

I am so glad that Olivia and her poodle, Haviland and her writing group are making another appearance. The trouble this time all begins with a time capsule that was found during a church renovation. Murder, betrayal, feelings that can never be repaired, shootings, jail sentences and a corrupt pastor, all hold a grip on Oyster Bay. But on the plus side, we have not one, but two weddings to celebrate, new friendships formed, and a reunion of a father and daughter. It always amazes me that Ellery can fit all of this in one book. Authors such as Ellery, who truly love their fans is a huge part of why I am so devoted to cozy mysteries.

A copy of this book was sent to me by the author in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.

I like that in this series the characters develop and relationships evolve. So many cozy series are same-old same-old and become boring. I also like the fact that the main character is not a frump but rather an attractive, intelligent businesswoman. The short, pudgy heroines in some series are irritating. I had figured out a lot about the historical angle in the plot before it was revealed, but that's okay. I much prefer that the resolution follow from the clues to a rabbit-from-a-hat plot resolution. Given the events at the end of the story, I wonder if the series is over? It'll be interesting to see if the latest relationship development can give rise to future plots.

I received this book from the author early in order to write a review of it. This suits me just fine because I was drooling just waiting for the sixth installment of her Books By The Bay series to come out. I've never been one to write reviews full of plot recaps, spoilers, and the like. So I hope I still do Ellery Adams justice.

What I do want to say, is that this is one of my all time favorite cozy mystery series, ever! Olivia Limoges is just cut from a different cloth. For a very successful woman, she started out very emotionally stunted. Over the last 5 books, Olivia has grown and matured emotionally, and all that growing up led to this book. She taking the plunge! Going into the deep end! Past the point of no return. Well she's getting married- but this is a big deal for her.

I love that the book isn't solely about this mushy gushy picture perfect wedding. It gets the attention it deserves, but Olivia isn't a mushy person, and this isn't a Nicholas Sparks books. (Nothing wrong with Nicholas Sparks but I just don't see him writing a very good mystery). Captain Haviland is of course in the thick of it, and what a good poodle he is. As are the Bayside Mystery Writers, with Milay serving an integral role in serving justice for Oyster Bay. Olivia has a very extended family, her fellow townspeople. And she is bound to protect her family at any costs.

Lethal Letters has been my favorite book of this series, and I definitely recommend it to any cozy lover, mystery buff, or fan of fun and friendly fiction. This could be a great beach read, or a snuggle by the fire with a cup of cocoa read. Pick it up today.

Another winner! Olivia Limoges owns a restaurant and wants to be a published author. She suffered heartache in the past and has a secret that she wants to tell her fiancé and friends, but isn't sure how they're going to react. She has her plate full of celebrations, so to take her mind off of everything for a while, she, her fiancé, niece, nephew and her precious poodle go to the beach. While at the beach she and her niece find a body. Olivia is determined to help the police solve the murder. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Ms. Adams is a wonderful author and I can't wait for the next book in this series!

have read several books in different series by this author and, enjoyed them all. Although I haven't read the complete series, I think the Books by the Bay swerves is on its way to being my favorite. I was drawn into Lethal Letters from the first page and didn't want my time with the townspeople to end. The characters are so well developed and written you feel they are or could be your friends. I would live in Oyster Bay if possible. The mystery was all the more compelling because you care about the people involved. I enjoyed Lethal letters immensely and will highly recommend it to all my reader friends

Lethal Letters is the latest book in the Books By The Bay series. Ellery Adams brings Olivia and the others in the Bayside Book Writers group to life with her details and descriptions, I would feel like I was sitting with them in Oyster Bay.

She keeps the reader guessing through out the whole book with the blending of the history of Oyster Bay and present day drug problems. I really did not want the book to end. I can't wait for more of the Bayside Book Writers and to see what they are getting into next.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author for a review for the store. I will be telling everyone to buy this book and they will love it.

If you love weddings. This is so awesome. Book six in the series. Has twists and turns that will keep your attention from start to finish. I love all the characters but my favorites are Olivia and Harris. Ellery Adams has another great book. So order this, get your favorite cup of tea or soda, your favorite chair, sit back and relax. And enjoy .

This cozy mystery weaved together a time capsule, mermaids, and murder in a very enjoyable fast read. I read the first 4 books in this series over a year ago and jumped ahead to this book, #6, when I saw my library had it. Now I MUST find a copy of book #5.

True to form, as all of the preceding books, this is an excellent book to read. How do you come up with these stories? I love the comparison to Olivia’s life.

I’m afraid I’ll give too much away if I say much more and I sure wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone. Thank you and keep the stories coming for Olivia and The Book Club. I can’t wait for the next book!

Young Adults would enjoy his book as well as their parents. Setting indicates a summer beach town that also has a nice year round place to live with nice Southern folk and some no-so-nice characters as well. Light ,easy ,fun reading!

This is better than most cozy mysteries because Olivia is not the annoying character that so many of the "heroines" are. I like her fiance too. I have not read any of the other books in the series so I am unaware of how she developed into the character she is in this book. The requisite "bad guys" are really despicable.

I love the characters in the Bayside Bookwriters Club. Ms. Adams plots flow and draw you in. This book I noticed a large number of spelling and grammar errors and that does stop the flow of the words for me some. But I enjoyed the book and enjoyed the wedding.
