36 has the most interesting and complex angle to time travel ever. Saved from his own execution, given a new identity, trained, and sent back in time 36 hours to thwart terrorist attacks, all is going well until he is sent on his latest mission. Forced to question the motives of the people who send him, he has to quickly separate the good guys from those who are trying to destabilize the country. A well written book, as are all of Dirk Patton's VPLAGUE series books. You will find yourself quickly engrossed in the story.

"36" is just as spellbinding as the Plague series - time travel, government conspiracy intrigue, beautiful girls, guns - what's not to like ! Loved the characters and the multiple story lines. Robert/JR is like John Chase in many ways and Julie is another Rachel. Living just a few miles from Florence, AZ, I could relate to the imagery of the opening chapters. A must read for Dirk Patton fans and anyone else addicted to high-adventure and action !

If you want well written entertaining action with a touch of romance, Dirk Patton is for you. While this story deals with a plot that is scientifically unrealistic, it is no different than most sci-fi or fantasy novels. There are solid good and bad characters and plenty of twists. Relax, enjoy the ride and be thankful that there will be a sequel.

I had concerns when I started reading this book that it wouldn't compare to the V Plague John chase series. I had no reason to be worried, this book while written in Mr Patton's familiar no nonsense way is totally different and equally as exciting and intriguing as his other series! Give it a read, it's worth your time. Thanks to Mr Patton for giving us another quality book to read.

Excellent mix of sci fi, secret agents and action. I blazed through this book in a couple of days and really got immersed in the story. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes shows like 24 or Fringe, a great blend of genres.

Loved this new book by Patton! Was hesitant only because the V series was SOOO fantastic, but it didn't take long to climb aboard the time travel train and enjoy the page-turning ride! Characters are interesting and complex, making me hope for a series to see them develop even more.

Great story! Look forward to more!

The story starts rather slow but then speeds up until your heart is in your throat. The theory of time travel explained so that the layman can understand. If you like convoluted conspiracy action novels, this is for you.

Now THIS was good! A perfect prequel and the ending...surprising enough to piss you off! As usual, very well written, memorable characters, and just enough sci-fi to be interesting and believable. Read V Plague first...it'll make this book much more enjoyable.

I loved the author's style of writing. Simple sentences that were to the point but caught your attention. I really dislike long, flowery descriptive passages. Action moved quickly and you became involved with the main character. Read it in a couple of days.

Patton is a great writer, between V Plague and 36 I've been reading for the better part of a week. One of my top 3 post apocalyptic fiction writers for sure. His depiction of an ex-SMU guy is much better than some of the other ones I've read.

A real page turner that has some great twists. Dirk Patton has shown he can write a Stephen King sized novel with great detail, yet still keep it fast paced and engaging. There are real layers to this story. It is not just how the main character changes the past but how much he, and his situation, evolve in the same timeframe. I can't wait for the sequel!

I don't usually care for time travel books. They are usually very confusing. This one was good. I only got really confused once. To many time lines in motion. I've been wondering just what the Athena Project was.

I've always been fascinated by the concept of time travel and all the possibilities associated with such a concept.
What would I do if I could go back 36 hours in time? That's a no brainer. I'd get the latest lotto numbers and go back and buy some tickets!
Besides that I would need a lot more than just 36 hours so I could travel back in time long enough to bitch slap my past self and ask him what was he thinking! But enough about me. It's a great book full of twists and turns and non stop action. Sprinkled with just the right amount of romance and lots of complex characters that keep you guessing I would definitely recommend it to any lover of good sci-fi that loves action and what ifs that'll make your head spin. Great job!
