Before purchasing this book, please be aware that all you are really getting is about sixty pages of new content. This content is well written of course, since the author is a talented writer but not a whole lot happens and then the story ends. When it does end (at the 81% mark) - much like the previous "novella", you will get an author page and an excerpt from his first published novel. That said, if you are a die hard fan of The Remaining, you will like the writing and you will like the story. It is pretty good stuff... If you'd rather take your $2.99 and buy a gallon of milk or use it as a down payment on a gallon of gas, that is your other option. Rating based upon substance only: 4/5

You are a talented writer, and I have loved everything you have written that I have encountered. This, my friend, was a POS. Emotional? Yes. Interesting? Yes.
Just focus on the strong characters, I am sure we have the weak thing figured out by the statistics in your great novels. On the edge of my seat for the next one. Please bring it on.

The story itself is well written, however I'm not sure how it will tie in to the main story line. My only problem is the price. A book that literally took about an hour to read shouldn't be that expensive to buy, especially since I just bought the whole series for my nephew to read. If I had known that the first book would come with Faith in the back, I would have waited.

The writing is on point. Nobody writes a tense scene like D.J. Molles. He is absolutely my favorite writer. However, I was finished inside an hour. This new publishing deal may make D. J. a ton of money, and he deserves it, as he is a great writer, but the price of a novella this short was way too high.

After only reading a few pages, I wanted these moronic characters to get gobbled up by the zombies. This segment of the Remaining saga is so bad that I refuse to read any further than I already have. It is so bad that I may give up on D. J Molles. What a let down.

I loved the series so I preordered this book expecting it to be a novella on the same story line. What I got was a short story without anything happening. The story was nothing like the series, what it is, is a story of Job in a Zombie style. I hate being duped into a religious messages. I would love to have my money back. This deception leaves me put of for any future D. J. Molles books.

Nit bad but felt rushed. Just something to get done to hold interest between main installments. Could have been better developed. Still it was interesting, just would have liked a clearer picture. Love the series.

I absolutely love this series, but I was a little disappointed with how short this was. I didn't expect a full length book, but I was hoping for a little more than what I got. That's my only complaint. Anxiously awaiting the next book!

The short story is really not worth reading. Does not measure to the rest of the series. Don't know what is going on. The series was pretty good but these latest short stories are a real let down. Too bad I had looked forward to the series continuing. Don't think I will follow in the future.

Most zombie apocalypse novels have a main character who is survivalist, strong-minded, well-prepared, expertly trained, and willing to dig deep enough to find a way to protect those he loves. This book takes a different approach: The main character represents a modern day man who, relies on the system so much, he is incapable of facing disaster with a clear head . The protagonist's mindset is described well enough that I could place myself in his shoes; I actually could feel his state of panic and helplessness. As a huge fan of "The Remaining", D.J. Molles writing style sucked me in but left me disappointed it ended so abruptly. Still, I enjoyed this break from the normal zombie apocalypse formula and glad D.J. Molles gave us another side to his morbid fantasy.

D.J. Molles, with his fabulous writing style, did a great job with Faith. I'm not a fan of short stories but I liked this book. Will we see more of Clyde in 2015? BTW I don't think I can wait a year! I hate to ask you to write a little faster but I love The Remaining series. keep it up!

The second novella for The Remaining gives another insight to some of the backstory, and fans of the series will recognize how it ties in with the Followers and their crazy idealism. Another tidbit to hold you over until The Remaining #5.

With unfamiliar characters this story becomes even more dark and twisted than it already was. I look forward to some closure on these characters in the final book. Although this story was a bit different than the others it was still a hit! Well done!

While the story was classic D.J. Molles quality it was very short. I assume these characters will play a role in upcoming books but this novella left me feeling like I wasted my money. Who is this limp noodle and why should readers care what happens to him. The reviewer that listed the prices vs. pages of the other books was spot on. I'm beginning to see a pattern with most Kindle published authors who become popular, the quality begins to diminish as the prices rise. Maybe the store and these authors don't care but I'm beginning to become more and more hesitant to continue spending my hard earned money on these later installations. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE OF THESE "NOVELLAS" at this price. I have also put off buying later installations of Joe Nobody's series because I feel the price is too high. This sucks because I really enjoy this series as well. If I am going to pay this kind of money I want it in paperback. Like I said, I'm sure the authors don't care about our opinions based on their treatment of their readers lately but unless they change their ways I don't have to be a fan or a reader. You want to make things right? Give us a discount on the next BOOK in the amount of this let down. Otherwise, get paid cheating somebody else. Mr. Molles, I think you owe your fans an apology. the store/Kindle Publishing, stop ripping off your customers, it's unbecoming and poor customer service.

The Remaining: A Faith is a novella that explains the origin and the reason for Clyde Bealey in the remaining books of the series. In the beginning before the mysterious disease spread across the U.S. and most likely the world, Clyde was a white-collar worker and lived a full white-collar world – a soft life according to his in-laws. His wife came from the more grounded life of blue-collar workers and hunters. Clyde knew he would never measure up to his wife’s family.
Throw in a mad dash to a FEMA camp and Clyde packs his most valued items – pictures, licenses, birth-certificates, CD’s, money, etc. and no food or clothes. His wife is about to give birth anytime and Clyde struggles with the realization that his in-laws would not only laugh at him but that they would be better prepared for this emergency.
D.J. Molles is not gentle with his characters and shows how brutal they and life can be to them. Clyde must decide where to go, what to do and who he really is now that the world is gone. Clyde must find his way among the Followers now.
Short but action packed. I find that I actually enjoy these novellas that are strategically placed within the series as they offer an insight that one might miss if they were not separated. Molles flushes out what most of us would do during such an emergency and shatters our thoughts, almost teaching what a survivor should do in the case of any emergency. What we should focus on.
The narrator, Christian Rummel continues to be excellent. The way he reads slightly faster as the action comes to head makes my already pumping heart beat slightly faster anticipating the outcome.
The production had no issues.

Story would have been okay for free to keep interest till the next book, but $2.99? Whose decision was this, the store's, the Hachette group's or the author's? I know a lot of crap is going on as the store and the publishers (and the media companies) are deciding (i.e., fighting over) the best way to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs (i.e., the internet) and certainly are not acting in the interests of readers, consumers and the public.
There are zombies and ghouls out there and most of them are not in books.

This novella is part of book 1. The characters are not related to the main character of the book, Captain Lee Harden; HOWEVER, it explains what happened in the outside world while Lee was in his bunker, waiting for further instructions. In the book, you don't really know too many details of what happened during this waiting period. In this novella you follow a couple, that reflects what most of us would feel if we were told that this is happening. The couple first thinks it's all a ridiculous overreaction, and is more concerned about their personal belongings, than paying attention to what is going on around them, which puts them in a horrible position.

Too many people complain about the Novellas but they are great additions to the back story and can you really complain for the price?
Seriously? I spend more on the dollar menu at taco bell! If you like "The Remaining" you just need to get them all! It is $3.00 so don't complain :)

A nice little story to give some background on the faithful. Not necessary to enjoy the series and doesn’t add as much as the novella “Trust” but still interesting for those who love the The Remaining series.

The author has added a bit of additional context to his past series of novels. As with "The Remaining: Trust", there is nothing here that really moves the needle. Seems like it is a method to keep his current readers' attention and generate some revenue while finishing the final book -- which I'm looking forward to.

What kind of man turns into a monster? What does it take to break and bend a once timid man into a lethal force to be reckoned with? I think this novella is giving us that story.
I Love these snippets into the back stories of these secondary characters! Can never get enough of a good thing and would love to see this series turned into an HBO series. I'm sad that book 5 will be the end, so thank you thank you Mr. Molles for these novellas!
