I gave up listening, I was so bored with unlikeable main characters...the bride had decided she hadn't really wanted to marry the groom who was killed. Poor groom, just thumb through to see. Anyway, She and her sister were tough and not easy to relate to. Sorry, I paid Audible, I didn't listen after a while so I could thumb ahead and see if I was right about the murderer.

I had very high expectations that this book would be a very good mystery due to all of the great customer reviews that I read about it, however, I was very disappointed because while the writing style flowed, it never arrived anywhere! The book had so many good story lines written into it that were not explained by the end of the book. Mystery? There was no mystery! Skeletons in the closet? None were forthcoming. And, it ended on a romantic note, but again, it didn't explain the many points brought up in the story that you would be interested to know how they turned out. The only two characters that seemed sufficiently developed were Ford and Tess. All of the others seemed invisible, they just didn't come to life for me. Also, he plot was lacking. At about the middle of the book, you notice that the story isn't going anywhere. The writing flows, but the story definitely lacks development, it just doesn't explain so many things. So many of the existing story lines could have been explained to make a much better story. Why leave all of the areas which were brought into the story unexplained at the end? I feel cheated.

This was a strange book. Good plot, passable mystery, but the most annoying heroine ever. Seems the author couldn't make up her mind whether to develop a helpless southern type baby doll or a strong woman. One minute she was the type of woman who makes her own decisions and goes her own way. The next minute she was swooning in someone's arms. And don't get me started on that stupid scene with the Oreo cookies

This gripping mystery book kept me on the edge of my seat while trying to uncover the murderer! This is a fantastic work following the author’s first book ‘The Widow and the Rock Star.’ However, in this book the who-done-it vibe was off the charts – I love that in every page I am constantly captivated and challenged to think different leads! I would honestly recommend if you are into mysteries. Thanks Jennifer for yet again a great piece of work!

Just when you thought you have figured it out BOOM ... twist. I loved this book it was a great read. Not very many books can keep you guessing like this one did. I thought for sure I had it somewhat figured out but NOPE

J. Thomas-Like's second attempt displays a certain writer's maturity in "The Widow and the Will." While we're still on a journey with likeable, dynamic characters, this time the protagonist is younger, more independent and a strong female role model, which helps her appeal to readers of all ages. The plot unwinds in a methodical way, and the pacing of the story makes it a real page turner. Looking forward to reading the next in the series!

I absolutely loved Tess. She was a sweet girl who was given a raw deal. If the first chapter of this book doesn't suck you in, you don't have a pulse. I loved the plot, and wasn't expecting who the bad guy turned out to be. Lots of twists and turns. Will definitely be reading anything else this author has coming.

Another great book by this author! Love & mystery & questions & surprises... it's great! I took this book on vacation with me, and this is what I ended up doing most of the time, the reading was so good! Finished it before I went home (which included some late nights), and wouldn't have been able to manage otherwise! :) Definitely kept me sucked in, and it'll do the same to you!

I liked the flow of the characters, the guessing if the whodoneit, and the easy to follow storyline. Growing up in SCS myself, it was nice to read about some familiar places...the Blue Goose. Refreshing read, not too cheesy.

Love the 2nd "Widow" book!! This author is great! Definitely improving with each book! I couldn't put it down!! She has shown great strides in her character development! This book had many unexpected twists, I couldn't put it down! I LOVED her first book, but I think the 2nd is even better! Can't say too much without spoilers, but you definitely need to read this book! Looking forward to the next one, J. Thomas-Like!!!!
