Being a geeky reader myself, I've really enjoyed this book. It's always nice to read something relatable especially in the romance category. Nothing seems to far fetched, just down to earth if not sometimes painfully so. Can't wait to finish it!

Cute, fast paced, good character development. I'm not in fandom loop, yet I could keep up and definitely enjoyed the read. Makes me want to delve into who/what these different fandom references are. Thanks!

This romance book is very much what the title says: A Geek Romance Rom com.

It's kind of a romance with the whole "gamer/programmer/geek" experience with a bit of sexxy times thrown in there.

This is not for young adults-- it's more of a "new adult" book then anything else. I wouldn't want my middle schooler to read it necessarily, although she'd totally LOVE the fandom references like when Tessa meets a bunch of intimidating girls for the first time who end up being Superwholock fandom and then immediately feels comfortable.

Tessa and Adam are roommates. They work at the same Mysterious Pickles Gaming company-- only Tessa as a lowly audio programmer and Adam with the group of guys who are the main engineers. This dynamic was also an interesting facet of this book for me-- the whole sexism in engineering culture is dealt with straight up in this story-- Tessa is constantly not only having to prove herself because she's a girl, but also having to convince Adam that there is actually sexism happening.

Anyway, the two slowly realize that being roommates can lead to some nice sexxy times, Tessa decides to "save" her new, insta-friends by the daunting task of creating a role-player game in 3 weeks as part of a contest, and there's a snowstorm that causes the heat to go off......you get the picture.

The weakest part of the story for me was Tessa relating to the girls. I felt there was too much insta-friendship and trust on their parts, but that was more than made up for by the cool fandom, sexism in engineering, and romance bits. Cute, geek romance novel.

Cute, sweet, funny, and most of all, the author writes from a knowledgeable point of view about geekdom! Definitely as described, a geek rom com. Lots of fun to read. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a flirty, funny, geeky read!

Cute fuzzies, hot bits, and a few editing errors/confusion (could have use some page breaks or new chapters for some). Nice to see some smart girl nerdiness and accurate depictions of computer/game engineering culture.

A wonderful wonderful book that has rich and developed characters. From the first page I wanted to dive in and have Tessa as my best friend. Her voice was so clear and relatable, as were all the other amazing women in the book. FABULOUS READ and highly recommended.

Funny, refreshing and totally adorable. When I finished this book I immediately started searching for another book by this author. Happy to hear she will be coming out with another in the (near?) future.

This book started out slow, and stayed that way to the end. The best thing I can say is, it was consistent. Throughout, the writer uses incorrect grammer, shows no knowledge of her subject matter, has typos galore, and pretty much just takes the long road to nowhere. A real letdown for me.

This book was terrible. The author does not know the subculture of gamers that she is supposedly writing this book for. She merely threw in titles of anime or video games randomly, just for the sake of it. Video games were not really the central part of this book at all. In addition to the terrible attempt to connect with an audience she knew nothing about, she also writes at a 6th grade level with a $50 word thrown in here or there. It is very distracting and distasteful. Her writing was painful to read and to add insult to injury, the author's idea of a plotline is no different than any other 50 cent paperback "romance" or "rom com" book that you could pick up at any yard sale or church bazaar. The plot is extremely obvious and predictable. It has feminist undertones, but contradicts the good message it is trying to get across about equal opportunity for women, by having a weak female character that pretends to be strong but then acts like a lovesick teenager. As someone who supports equal opportunity in the workplace, I definitely did not appreciate this take, but rather found it insulting. Worst book I have read in a long time. Very glad I didn't spend money on it.

This case came at the correct time and really brought a tear to my eye when I first saw it. It was beautiful and dark. I checked out the stitching design in the back and tried to open the kick stand. The kickstand would not budge until I took my work badge and forced it open. I was kind of disappointed that I had to resort to using items around me to pop open the kickstand. The other thing that made me frustrated was that pieces of case would fall off with every drop (2 or 3) and scratched my phone. Which is why they get three stars from me. I was offered this case in exchange for an honest opinion.

When I first read about ‘Level Up’ I just knew this was a book I needed to read. I really loved the idea of two geeky characters who lived together. So I signed up for the tour and I was super excited to hear I would be a part of the blog tour.

In ‘Level Up’ we meet Tessa Rodriguez, an introvert and geeky woman who works hard to get her dream job: a videogame engineer. The Tessa has been living with Adam for almost a year now. And the only thing they’ve noticed about each other is that they work together and both are engineers. But when Tessa’s best friend is telling her she really needs to get out more and work for what she wants, Tessa decides to try and make more friends. When being more friendly gets her the job of making a new videogame, Tessa really needs the help of her colleagues and also Adam. But what Tessa didn’t expect was getting to know Adam more and feeling more for him than just friendship.

‘Level Up’ was a book that was just too damn short. It was just so good I could have easily read another hundred chapters in this book. From the moment I started reading, I really loved this book. Cathy Yardley has a really fun writing style, that just makes you want to keep reading. So I did, and before I knew it I finished reading this book. It was just so much fun. And I loved reading about Tessa’s and Adam’s journey in getting to know each other better. There interactions were so much fun to read about and also really really sweet.

The best thing about ‘Level Up’ was definitely the whole geeky romance part. It was just so fun and romantic and I really enjoyed getting to know Tessa and Adam. Tessa’s job in a man’s world was also really interesting to read about. I mean.. I’ve never heard about a woman working as a videogame engineer, and Tessa really kicked ass as an engineer.

‘Level Up’ is a really fun book that I would definitely recommend. It’s fun, romantic, geeky and you can perfectly read this if you don’t have a lot of time, because it’s not a very long book. I can’t wait to read other books in this series.

This is a Cute, Funny and Refreshing love story. No Cliffhangers, No cheating. Just a pure and Normal romance between co-workers/roommates. This story can actually happen to any of us. Don’t get me wrong, I love stories that have suspense and action but sometimes I just want a book that’s a simple read, without all that drama and this was the book for me. Happy Reading :)

Fantastic Read! The excellently written introvert character developed through the course of the novel in a natural way. The relationships between her, her friends, and, naturally, her roommate are properly expanded, explained, and developed. I can't wait to read the next novels in this series. Despite its length, it was not rushed or dull. I can't wait to read more from this author.

The story was actually very good....but the author really needs to rework the chapter breaks. If you have a chapter that is 25 minutes long, it needs to be broken up. Especially when there are too many thoughts jumping from one sentence to the next. This could be a great book with some good grammatical editing and some proper parsing.

This book had very well developed characters, and a very strong female lead. She was unique, driven, independent and always stayed true to herself. I loved that this book was both a romance and a self discovery book. I really enjoyed my time reading it and will be sure to read more from this series. This is a great read for fangirls of Sherlock, Doctor Who, and Mystics.

A pretty amazing book. Nerdy, well written and almost shockingly feel-good. So many realistic and believable characters, great plot. One of those rare books where you wish you could keep living in the author's world. Read it!

Okay hold the phone for just a diddly darn minute. I hate giving away any spoilers, but I just wanted to let everyone know to go ahead and download this book. It is not a regular rom-com styled affair where you want to throw up afterwards. I work in a library, and I have seen some of the worst (and best) romantic books, fictional books, cute books, and nerdy books, and I can say that this is a really fantastic book. I read it in a day, but I can also read really fast and I have nothing better to do with my free time.

That aside, this is a really cute book. I honestly enjoyed every page of it, and I know that if you like anything cute, romantic, and if you have even a small baby little nerdling inside of you, then you will love this book. It is a great read, and it had me giggling through most of it, a feat which not many books are capable of. Just read it, and you will know what I mean. (And just wait until you get to the kiss...)

Over all, this author did a great job at the plot, the characters, the general mood, the dialog, the inner dialog, and basically everything. I really appreciate this book, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I really liked this book. It had everything.....romance, friendships, sexy scenes......humor and warmth that resonated throughout the book. I love books where you like and enjoy all the characters and their quirky personalities! This book makes you feel satisfied and leaves you with a smile on your face and wanting to know what happened to all of them next! Luckily the next book brings these unusual people back and I can't wait to see what they are up to next!

PERSONALLY I THOUGHT IT WAS A WELL WRITTEN STORY THAT WAS RELEVANT TO MY LIFE. SO MANY SUBCULTURES PAIR UP WELL, AND GEEK AND PORN ARE ALWAYS ONE OF THEM. IT IS A CUTE STORY, WELL DEVELOPED WITH LIKABLE CHARACTERS. IT IS NOT OVERLY SEXUAL WHICH I LIKE, IT LEAVES A LOT MORE TO IMAGINE. I FOUND IT TO BE A WELL ROUNDED STORY AND THE HUMOR IS SPOT ON IF YOU ARE PRETTY GEEKY. IT IS A SHORT AND FAST READ, WHICH IS NICE. IT COULD EASILY BE A STAND ALONE BOOK OR HAVE MORE. THE WRITING WAS AIMED FOR A YOUNGER AUDIENCE FOR SURE, BUT I FOUND IT PLAYFUL. THE FLOW WAS DISJOINTED IN A FEW PLACES BUT NOTHING I COULDN'T OVERCOME. OVERALL, A CUTE BOOK. MY SECOND KINDLE BOOK I HAVE EVER TRIED. I AM MORE OF A SMELL AND FEEL THE REAL THING TYPE OF GIRL.

I RECEIVED THIS AT A DISCOUNT FOR AN HONEST REVIEW, SO THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I have three words to describe this book: endearing, quirky, and awesome. I loved reading the story and thought it was a great tale to tell. All the nerdy references packed in the dialogue were fantastic and as a nerd myself, I could relate to a lot of them. I loved that the story featured a strong female lead that had her own mind and her own goals. Reading her story of fighting to succeed in a "man's profession" was quite uplifting. This story was absolutely hilarious and one-of-a-kind. I would totally recommend it!

I am not typically attracted to romance stories but the geek in me is a sucker for a book that brings so many references and that mushy geeky love story to the table. The book follows a geeky introvert girl named Tess that starts to fall for her more outgoing roommate Adam. The story moves pretty steadily and was a good read in my free time. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.
