Great condition, great price, and fast delivery....VERY SATISFIED!
I highly recommend this book for Human Resource Management. It is very clear and really easy to understand even if you don't know much about the subject.

I was a little skeptical ordering a USED book online...I thought it would be like a pack of cards, missing pages...but I was wrong. The book arrived in a timely manner, and in great condition. Sure, there were a few markings in it, but it served its purpose well. I'll definitely buy from this company again!

The book pictured here is NOT the book I received, though it is the one I really NEEDED FOR MY CLASS. Luckily, I spoke with my professor and was able to use the one I received anyway, but I will not be placing another order with the store.com.

First time after many purchases has the wrong item ever been sent. This is the INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EDITION ISBN:978-0070292895. It is approximately 200 less pages. I don't know what else is missing, but I guess it doesn't matter. I think the US version third edition proper ISBN is 978-0073381473. SO the store, you should change the book image and add explicitly that this is a INTERNATIONAL EDITION.

Rented this book for a Intro to Human Resources class. The information in it was so generic that it mirrored the content of 3 of my past human resources classes. Wanted to mention that the copy I received was clearly water damaged. It looked awful, but I only needed the book for the content and everything was readable. Like my rating indicates, "it's ok."

I purchased this as a new book, expecting the connect code to come with it to access the online part of the course. It does not come with the code which then needs to be purchased separately for another $15.00.

While I did receive a textbook titled Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, my textbook was written by DeCenzo, Robbins and Verhulst. My textbook was not the HR book that I ordered, which was supposed to be written by Raymond Noe. The book that I received did not accurately correspond with my homework assignments, and did not cover every concept that was discussed in my class, as it wasn't the correct textbook. I'm not sure how this error occurred, as the textbook that I ordered and the textbook that I received have different ISB numbers, but because of this company's error, I will be renting my textbooks elsewhere from now on.

When they state, "Read it exclusively on our free Kindle apps for iPad, PC or Mac" they do not mean this book (on similar types) are only available to the store's Kindle, they mean that it WILL ONLY WORK on apps for iPad, PC, or Mac. It would not download to my Kindle DX, giving an error that it was incompatible with the device. Laughable that a "Kindle Edition" doesn't actually work on a KINDLE.

I am taking an accelerated undergrad business course for which this book is the text. Overall I have found the book to be superficial, vague, and lacking in academic rigor. I will cite two examples from the introductory chapter to illustrate:

Under the heading of "why should you care", the text claims that effective HRM yields a sustainable competitive advantage. To justify this, the book makes acceptable claims that "Human resources are valuable", and "Human resources are rare" (Page 4). It then argues that "Human resources cannot be imitated" and engages in rather ludicrous hyperbole to support the contention, while ignoring the obvious fact that companies study and imitate successful HR policies and processes of competitors all the time. Even more egregiously, the text asserts that "Human resources have no good substitutes", and defends that assertion by saying "It is difficult to imagine another resource that can match committed and talented employees." This is not a reason, it concedes that there might exist such a resource (job redesign and automation leap to mind), and lists the only barrier to discovery of such a resource is the author's lack of energetically applied imagination.

On page 15, the text asserts that the following list of "rights" is necessary and foundational to ethical decision making in an HR context. The text does not cite a specific source for these rights, makes an unsubstantiated claim that these "rights" are ubiquitously adopted, and deceptively conflates these rights with U.S. Constitutional Rights. The rights are "Right of free consent", "Right of privacy", "Right of freedom of conscience", "Right of freedom of speech", and "Right to due process". All of these so-called rights are explained with such broad exceptions that it is hard to describe them as rights at all, for example, the freedom of conscience is described as "... the right to refuse to do what violates their moral beliefs, as long as these beliefs reflect commonly accepted norms"; In other words, it's not the person's morals, but "commonly accepted" morals, which is not really a personal right at all. Later, on Page 17, an example of an ethical HR decision infringes and sublimates an individual's "rights" to a "for their own good" consideration. This is a confusing and shaky foundation for building a system of ethics.

Here's my bottom line: I want to learn how to successfully manage people in a business, and this book is not helping me. It is a seemingly endless barrage of suspicious platitudes, goals, objectives, and catch-phrases, but missing concrete information about the best way to achieve them. It feels a little like wanting to learn how to speak English, and being handed an abridged pocket dictionary - lots of what - not much how - balanced on a foundation of exaggeration and illogic.

I ordered the book with standard shipping hoping it would arrive within 5 days before my first class. It came 2 days after I ordered it.
Although the book was used, the condition was as new as possible. The only thing I could see was a lightly frayed edge which is impossible to prevent if used more than 3 times.
This purchase exceeded my expectations more than any other online purchase has.

This was the textbook for fundamentals of Human Resource Management course. The textbook addressed current case studies and best practices in the human resource industry was on point. I particularly enjoyed the discussions in the forums relating to current HR issues with other professionals. For example, it was very interesting to find out that the president of BP is leading the organization to recovery nicely and recuperating from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico by using best practices. BP recruits and train the best talent in the global market. It was not boring like many academic books I needed to read. The authors did a fantastic job communicating information to its audience.

The product was delivered in timely fashion. I have no comment about the product. It is very standard item and I am not expecting anything spectacular from this item. It is a good and reasonable product / book, as expected.

Ordered the book a week before classes started, and didn't get it for nearly a month! When I finally got it the book, it was the right edition but the warehouse was out of the USA edition, so they sent me the international edition which is slightly different in content... Cover clearly says "Not for use in the United States". First disappointing the store purchase.

The Kindle rental definitely works on my Kindle perfectly fine. Unfortunately, it does not work on my Kindle app on my computers. I have the app on my Windows 8 computer and the rental is not compatible with it.

I will not be purchasing another book from this seller, when I purchased the product I did not notice that it was the international version which is of no use to me. So I contacted the seller asking if I could return the book because I was not happy with it. They wrote back that located in the comments section it said "Comments: Only used once, no highlights or writing, international version but everything is EXACTLY the same" However there are sentences highlighted in bright pink all throughout the book. The lessons at the end of the chapters in this international version are not the same as the regular fourth edition. Which they stated that everything was the same, but apparently they had never seen a regular version of the book. Now they wont get back to me about returning the book so I am left with a book that is no use to me, because I had to rent the correct version.
