Beautiful book!
This is something that will be appreciated in different ways over time. Right now my 10 yo is enjoying the pictures and basic info. As he ages, he may get into the actual science of it all.
He had the elements card set from last year Xmas. This was a gift to compliment that.
I like buying things with longevity. Introduce them to something when they're young, and let them grow with it over time. Don't push, expect, or demand - just let them be curious. Even when they don't look at something for a long time, eventually they'll pick it up again, at their own pace.
I have read other reviews telling of Gray's Elements book, and how well written & witty it is. I'll have to pick that up as well.
Recommended for any age, to spark curiosity:)

This is the book my chemistry teach should have put in front of me. My kid is learning at 4 times the rate of his classes at school just from the enthusiasm generated by this book and the partner book called the Elements.
Organic Chemistry I For Dummies (1st Edition) (6.8.2005) :: 3rd Edition (For Dummies (Math & Science)) - Anatomy and Physiology For Dummies :: Organic Chemistry I For Dummies (For Dummies Series) :: Organic Chemistry I For Dummies (For Dummies (Lifestyle)) :: With Big Beautiful Photographs of All 118 Elements in the Periodic Table
