Sunny was a very different character........at times I was like " enough kick your own rear and move on with life" . BUT this book will make you think about YOUR friends, life and dealing with daily, life issues.

The characters of this book are not real. The storyline is not real. It is just a fantasy. If people enjoy fantasies, you might enjoy this book. I didn't and I didn't finish it.
I am an avid reader. I don't often give up on a book, but I sure gave up on that one

I picked up two books with good reviews. Started reading one. Five pages through, decided it wasn't worth finishing - and opened the next. It was "A Chance for Sunny Skies". When I checked a few minutes later, I was on page 40 - and it was more than a "few minutes" later!
Right from the word 'Go', Eryn's lovely narrative skills pulled me deep into the world of anxiety-ridden Sunny Skies - and refused to let me come up for air (though, luckily, she was kinder to Sunny, who survives a near-drowning episode during which she experiences 7 'flash-before-your-eyes' images that set the tone for the rest of this engaging story).
Rarely does a writer get me to empathize so deeply with a character. Mario Puzo did it with 'The Godfather'. But then, Don Corleone was a powerful role model - not a angsty, unsure, nervous-as-heck twenty-something who guzzles soda and stuffs pizza into her face as comfort for the stresses her world imposes on herself.
Yet, having never myself felt that kind of uncertainty, or ever been bullied so badly, I could deeply identify with Sunny Skies (what a name, right?!) because Ms.Scott paints such a brilliant picture of her through this novel.
And so, as the story progresses, I smiled and cried, soared in joyous delight and plunged into numbed sadness, at each dip and rise in Sun's everyday life. By the end of the story, you'll be cheering for Sunny's "wins", booing her detractors, and learning a few precious life lessons along the way as well.
All in all, a good read - fun, fast paced, very well written and worth recommending to a friend (or ten). Thank you, Eryn Scott, for the window into the life of Sunny Skies!

"A Chance for Sunny Skies" was an enjoyable listen. I loved the characters, especially Sunny but Rainbow was also fun. She was sort of a guardian angel and helped Sunny overcome her social anxiety. I thought it was funny how the character Ken called her Cheeto Crotch. There were so many fun places in this audiobook. The whole thing was great. Definitely recommended. Eryn Scott is a good author and she'll be on my author to watch list.
Bridget Haight did a fab job narrating this audiobook. Her voice was exactly perfect for Sunny. She fit her quirky mannerisms with her voice inflections very well. This was an excellent match between author and reader.

Although I loved Eryn Scott's "Settling Up", I could not get through the first couple of chapters of "A Chance for Sunny Skies" and eventually just gave up on the book. I could not relate to the main character and her strange musings about what the universe was telling her to do.

An awesome new voice. Eryn Scott hit's the ground running with her first novel, t's funny, it's unique, and it wanders through some deep subjects without wallowing in them. Scott writes with a whimsical ease that's nearly lyrical in nature and so enjoyable to read that you'll fly through the book with a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your chest.

I loved this book! Sunny Skies and her serendipitous friends are a warm ray of sunshine in a world where it can be so difficult to make lasting relationships as an adult. The pace and characters are engaging, funny and wildly entertaining! Mrs. Scott does a beautiful job of keeping it fun and light, while developing and giving depth to her characters. If you are looking for fun, laughter and a few tears, this is the book for you. If you have no interest in seeing into the mind of someone with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, this is not the book for you! As someone who has suffered from anxiety and depression, I could relate to Sunny so much and I am glad someone is writing about how we can overcome it in a courageous way!

Sunny made me laugh out loud! An absolutely fun novel. I could totally relate to Sunny (I think the author knows my life!) Oh the awkward memories that Sunny rekindled! I couldn't help but cheer for Sunny as she tries to overcome her shyness and forge a career, friendships and romance.

Sunny is unlike most characters in romance novels. She's not beautiful, or confident, or charming, or even just in a little trouble. Instead she's a mess, and dying when we first meet her. Yet somehow she finds a way to change her life and make it what she wants. I loved reading her story as it unfolded.
