The heroine was just plain awful. She was spoiled and bratty and completely put the hero and his clan in bad positions and outright danger. The story dragged quite a bit as the reader waited for the big reveal that had already been revealed in the prologue. I also had an issue with the hero and heroine living together before their vows. No member of the clan seems at all put out by this which just strikes me as crazy odd. Not a great historical and not at all plausible. The scene with the king - really? The hero has a bounty on his head. I don't think he would just stroll around the city and interact with the king. Seemed very unrealistic.

From reading the other reviews I thought this one would be a real adventure story, with an awesome and strong female character. Not to say that Triona O'Toole wasn't, but there was just something about her attitude/behavior that I wasn't buying. I had hoped for her to be strong and mature and she was a little bit crazy instead. Overall though it was a good story that left me curious enough about the other characters to purchase Wild Roses.

So many twists and turns! I loved the characters, the banter between them, and the descriptions of the scenery (especially when Triona and Ronan go boar hunting). I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
The Bride and the Brute :: Heart Of A Highlander (Lairds of Dunkeld Series) (A Medieval Scottish Romance Story) :: The Viscount’s Mistress :: A Medieval Romance (The Sword of Glastonbury Series Book 1) :: Book One of The Mackintoshes and McLarens - Ian's Rose

A fun historical, great characters and complete understanding of the times and tempers of the Irish 'clans'. Could see myself as the feisty heroine in my youth.
Thank you, Ms Minger for a fun read.

Wild Angel is an excellently written story with characters that pull you in from the first page to the last. Triona and Ronan will stay with you long after you've finish the book. A warning . . . clear your schedule before you start to read Wild Angel, you won't be able to put it down.

Absolutely no driving plot in this book to hold a readers interest. Not even true to the period! The h was a narsistic brat and the only reason the H put up with her were her big breasts, beautiful face and curly red hair! LOL! Just sucked!

It was enjoyable. Not completely blown away but I like stories where there is conflict between the couple and it turns into a different kind of fire. Not super thrilled about the first few 'encounters', kind of took away from the romance, but the author made up for it in the end.

Miriam Minger is excellent at giving personality to her characters, and that goes a long way at making her books so enjoyable. Pleasant read, easy to put down but leaves you eager to go back to them. Miriam Minger is a great writer.

Loved the historical settings and the characters have such a personal level to them. When love finds you, you either admit it or fight it and make yourself miserable. Its just got the right amount of information to make this a keeper!

Exciting read. All lead characters r strong and witty. Supporting characters were great. Every character played a part in this epic book. You will love them. I bought the 2nd book because I couldn't get enough of the characters in first book and knew they would be featured in second book. Only disappointment was that there wasn't a third book book about niall.

Fineen O'Toole rescued Triona when she was a baby when he found her in her dead mother's arms. A Norman lord was seeking the baby; he had killed the mother and planned to kill the baby also. Fineen and his wife raised Triona as their own but kept her identity and past from her. When Fineen lies on his deathbed, he extracts a promise from Ronan O'Byrne to act as guardian to his daughter. Ronan agrees but Triona is very reluctant; she believes Ronan to be responsible for her brother's death; furthermore, she is bent on revenge for her father's death. Ronan takes Triona home with full intentions to marry her off, which infuriates her. Ronan gets exasperated with Triona, she opposes him at all times; she is interested only in going on raids and revenge. Ronan feels a deep sexual attraction to Triona and finds it harder to try and find her a husband because he wants her. Very passionate love scenes; an o.k. book even though you can see how it is going to evolve.

Clifford D Simak's The Goblin Reservation is a light-hearted, mildly humorous tale that is a mixture of both sci-fi and fantasy. Simak envision a future where travel by teleportation between planets is possible, while at the same time, all the creatures from Earth's mythology are present (goblins, trolls, and ghosts) as well as some form of time travel that allows for a Neanderthal to be brought forward. All of them co-exist in a near boarding house /college dorm setting. Everyone seems to engrossed in themselves, such that when the main character returns from an interplanetary jaunt only to find out that he had already returned and was killed, no one seems to be overly concerned. Somehow aliens, multiple species, are involved and an artifact the university wants to sell for lots of money is tied up in some mystery with a mystery alien race, but no one cares. And then the dragon steals the show.

Simak seems to be having fun with this tale, pushing the envelop for as much as he can. The characters are poorly developed and there's little build up or background to drive the plot which hints at major galactic consequences, but everyone seems to be having too good of a time to care.
