This book was definitely a page turner. I read Coldest Winter Ever several years ago by the same author, SIster Souljah. I really liked A Deeper Love Inside and the rich characters involved. I would highly recommend it to any Sister Souljah fan or someone looking for a book that has turmoil, struggle, love, and determination all wrapped up in one story.

This story was so heart-wrenching on so many levels. I felt for Porsche because she went through many struggles and still never received the love that any child would desire from their biological family. I recommend this book to other readers without hesitation.

Porsche makes Winter's story seem so small, yes they both struggled but Porsche learned from her hustle and always had mindset to get back to her family, while building one of her own. She thought for herself, but allowed others in. Even though she is schizophrenic she has a heart of gold! Elisha is my dream, sort of like Midnight minus the polygamy! However they both embody aspects of a man I want! The Coldest Winter Ever used to be my favorite book, but Sister Souljah has passed my expectations with her storytelling. I now have a new favorite book titled "A Deeper Love Inside"!!!

I love this follow-up to The Coldest Winter Ever. Sister Souljah delves into the real live world of the Santiaga's. This is a constant page turner, which I love in this book. When you put the book down, it leaves you to wondering and hoping for Porsha.

I would give this book three stars. The beginning of the book where we see Porsche in the juvenile detention center and also at the reservation camp was a slow start for me and quite honestly, a bit boring. However, once Porsche finds her crack addicted mother near the middle of the story, I felt that the story picked up. I found myself unable to put the book down. Still, it was annoying to read from the point of view of a 10-13 year old for the majority of the book, as well as the fact that I had to keep reminding myself how young Porsche was. Though I know there are some smart kids out there, Porsche's thoughts and actions definitely did not match with her youth. I mean really, how many 11 or 12 year olds do you know make $50,000 from doing various odd jobs??

What was also annoying was the amount of discrepancy in this story. Right before I read ADLI, I read TCWE for the first time, so the story was fresh in my mind. At the end of TCWE we see a more humble Winter attending her mother's funeral and then Porsche comes in. From reading the last few pages of TCWE, it seemed like Porsche was living and acting like Winter before she got arrested. It also says at the end of TCWE that Porsche only looked at her mother's body for three seconds. In ADLI, it is obvious that Porsche loves her mother more than anybody else and would do anything for her. Also, what happened to Buster??? The way Sister Soulja tried to cover that up in ADLI was completely bootleg. Also, since Winter said the twins were 15 in TCWE at their mother's funeral, that would make Porsche 19, not 16. Now I could give Sister Soulja a pass because it did take her 15 years to right this "sequel", but still, as a bestselling author she needed to do better.

My final complaint was how unrealistic the love between Porsche and Elisha was. I will admit that their young love was beautiful and I adored it at first, but once it got to the part where Porsche and Elisha had sex for the first time in Elisha's parents' house. That all ruined it for me. First of all, who does that? Second, why did they have to get married at 16 and 17? I don't know anybody who's gotten married that young. And then Sister Soulja had the nerve to make theses two teens rich and give an uneducated Porsche two children at 17! I don't understand where the beauty is in that. Maybe if SS waited until the characters were in their late 20s, it would have been better.

I will say that Sister Soulja captured the unrelenting love of a child for her mother quite beautifully. And the fact that she explored mental illness in the story was notable since mental illness is something that is considered taboo, especially in the Black community.

This book was an excellent read. I experienced so many emotional highs and lows yet felt fulfilled by the story. I don't wonder about the next charters or what will happen later because the story is complete. Porsche evolves and grows into womanhood in a very unexpected way that is satisfying. I took much more from the story than entertainment....she is so capable, and independent yet venerable and submissive (not in a bad way), which reveals an inner strength so rarely examined. I absolutely LOVED this book!

Sister Souljah has done it again. This sequel was such a page-turner. What a wonderful follow-up to "The Coldest Winter Ever"! Porsche"s story was heartbreaking, amazing, inspiring, and true to life. The richness of the characters in this book make me sad to be done, but I read it voraciously. I am adding it to my list of favorite books of all time. Clear your schedule and treat yourself by reading this book.

No one writes a story of love like Sister Souljah. Some of my friends, in the age group I'm in and the book club I'm in just don't seem to appreciate her work. Well I do, so I guess I'm a grandmother with an affinity for Hip Hop generation, or at least the ones from the 90's. Some of our young people need to read about Midnight and learn the true meaning of LOVE.

Yet another classic. Sister Souljah has done it again. She writes with great emotion which makes every character relatable. Love how she gives voices to people with none, in society anyway. She is dead on with the whole "middle sister" thing. Book takes you on an emotional roller-coaster. Amazing read. Love how different Porsche is from Winter.....Thanks for it all Sister Souljah, much love and respect!

So well developed, didnt miss a beat
I was so into this book. I was so enthused about reading it but never wanting it to end. A great point is that her stories are never ending, it feels like an true cruise through the lives of others.

Go buy all of them. If not you are missing out!

Sister Souljah can write, ok? No one can say otherwise once they have read her. She is a great storyteller! I am a believer. She is not an author I would have thought could capture the moment. Now that I have read her, I can judge: she is good. Awesome with the pen. Try her, tell us what you think!

Waste of time. I have been trying to finish this book since February and I usually finish a book within 2 weeks tops. It's long and so far fetched I much rather read what happens at the end the through other reviews. I wonder if I can get a refund

Sister Souljah gave Porsche a happy ending, which I wanted. It was soulful, painful and yet happy. I would recommend this book. It shows the canvas of a woman- her strength and her weakness but moreso her endurance.

I enjoyed reading about he survival skills of a young child who became a juvenile delinquebt at the tender age of 10 years old. Her survival in the tough streets of NY city, seemed a liitle unrealistic for a young girl. The story line was exciting, passionate and surreal, leaving the reader to say....really???

Sister Souljah has done it again. This book was a page turner from beginning to end. It had been a while since I'd read The Coldest Winter ever so I read it again before I started A Deeper Love Inside. Porsche was smart beyond her years but she was open to learning from others and putting that knowledge into action for her survival. I recommend this book to everyone. Her work ethic, her determination to maintain her abstinence, and her love for her family was admirable. Great read!!!

Omg I love the writing style of sister souljah. She does a great job of capturing her readers and pouring into a well put together love story. I just love how each of her characters you some how feel ,love, admire, and secretly become one of her characters. I though Winter was a cold piece. But Porsche hands down is beautiful inside and out. Winter had outward beauty that turns ugly because the person she really is. I love love love this book and All the characters.

Love how the characters love so deeply...how they stay true to each other. They reminds us that yes family is important but sometimes u have to make a family built on friends and life experiences. The book is also a sad reminder of how people get caught up on things that really don't matter, winter! Enjoy the book everyone.

I liked this book. People forget that the plot doesn't have to be realistic as its a FICTIONAL novel. Sheesh. I do agree with others that said this shouldn't have been called the sequel to The Coldest Winter Ever but I'm sure that could have been a marketing ploy to get people excited and buying. It just should have been Porsche's story of the aftermath of the downfall of Santiaga empire.

Sister souljah is one of my favorite authors. I have all of her books, so only naturally would I have bought "A deeper Love Inside!" I fell in love with "Coldest Winter Ever" in 2006 when I was in high school and since then I couldn't wait for a sequel. As always Souljah hasn't disappointed her fans with her brilliant words and her beautiful, yet eloquent story line. I look forward to what ever the next novel is!

This was a great story of Porsche Santiaga. I enjoyed this book and I was happy to see how the other characters like Midnight were in this story as well. This was a great story of love for family, loss of love for family, and regaining that love back. Awesome job to Sister Souljah.

I absolutely loved reading The Porsche Santiaga Story! Honestly, I felt that it started out a little slow or that it didn't grab my attention right away (the way I was hoping), but this story got better & better once I got into it and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Sister Souljah does it again. Awesome awesome book! I don't even know how to rant and rave about it without giving everything away but I truly loved this story and was pulling for Porsche all the way. My heart was so invested. I laughed I cried and I just couldn't put the book down. I will say that you have to make it all the way to the end to truly appreciate it for everything that it is. Souljah starts a lot of story that doesn't pay off without the commitment to finish but boy is it worth it. I can not express enough how much I truly loved this book and I recommend it to anybody who appreciates good storytelling.

A Deeper Love Inside: The Porsche Santiago Story is written in true Sister Soulja fashion. The stories are very good, but the way it is written can sometimes be confusing. I understand the story was about Porsche but it introduces characters that are really interesting, but as the book goes along they become vague. I understand Sister Soulijah does this to start a new book, but its just throws the story off a bit. This is just my opinion.

I have always been a fan since the beginning!! This book has truly been the book I've been waiting for. A true "tear jerker"! This story was amazing. I loved the story of Porsche, & the connection to the characters of the coldest winter ever, and the foreshadowing of midnight and how far he's come. This series of books has kept me on my toes since the beginning some years ago. Can't wait to see what's next.

Fabulous urban read with compelling characters, wonderful story. Manages to be altruistic in spite of incarceration, violence, heartbreak and true to life inner city horrors. Sister Souljah is amazing, a cultural treasure who should be included in high school reading lists. I am an old white lady and a diehard fan of this writer.

I really enjoyed this sequel to the coldest winter ever. Yes it was somewhat unbelievable but it is fiction so what do people expect. It told a beautiful story of a broken child trying to love and get her family back. She was hurt time after time but didn't give up on her momma until she had enough which is much like most of us. We give those we love our all even after they hurt us until we can bear no more hurt. She came out strong and independent unlike winter who was always chasing the wrong stuff. Materialistic stuff. She created siri in her young mind to protect herself. And she kept her with her forever because we siri made it easier to cope. Overall I was pleased.

Thought provoking, makes me wish she'd write a story from the fathers perspective. I couldn't imagine someone living in the muck and mire I mean the true bottom and come out shining like a "diamond" in the sky. I loved her story a little far fetched but a definite page turner.

This book did not disappoint! I'm so happy Sister Souljah took the time to give us Porsche story. This book has soul and brings you closer to the characters you already know and makes you love some of the new characters as well. I hope she completes Midnight' s story so we can know his full story.

This story was a dramatic turn from The coolest Winter every. Porsche had it hard for a young but turned out ok. My only thought it's could this story have been realistic? WINTER'S story was more believable. More of the pattern of that life style. But hey anything can happen

I felt like there was a lot of unnecessary detail in the early parts of the book that caused it to drag. The rest of it was ok, nothing like "The coldest winter ever". It was a bit unrealistic at times but I managed to finish the book.

I am highly disappointed with this book. I actually had to force myself to read it. It was an okay book, but it should not have been named the sequel to The Coldest Winder Ever. Which by they way was written entirely different then the rest of her books. Make me wonder we're they written by two different people? Been waiting on this sequel for year now & this is not what I had in mind.
