I was very interested in the book. Good story .. Kidnapping as well as big business conspiracy. I did not like the abrupt ending without a conclusion to the story as well as the trial outcome. Cliff hanger with no ending.

This was fast paced. Characters were believable and likable. I read while on a relaxing vacation. It was hard to put down.

Would recommend to anyone who likes lawyer books and genuine respect for the family

Well written and fast moving. Mr. Warren takes us through a triple layered story of deception, intrigue, and a blatant effort to cloak the truth. We can see how far a corporation will go for profit even when it's. own employees might get hurt. It takes a clever and compassionate lawyer and a dogged spy-like private detective to break through the web of intrigue.

I loved this book. The characters and situations were real to me. I never skimmed or jumped ahead as I seem to with way too many books. In fact, it was difficult for me to put it down and go to work.
Can't wait to read more by this author!

If you're interested reading this book because it's legal thriller, beware not much courtroom drama.
Parts of this book four and almost five stars. Scott is good, caring lawyer and father. Writing about how good person he is filled with too much fluff, after the third time reading about this fact, you feel like screaming "okay, I got it." Also don't like detailed description of husband and wife's love making.
He takes on a whistleblower case of fired worker of coal company, after working there twenty seven years. All he wanted to fix the unsafe conditions in the mines. A lot of barriers in front of Scott, he has a good investigator. But this trial puts his family in danger.

For me. Reading about civil litigation. I encourage readers to take the time for this book. It will take you on an amazing journey of drama, angst, tears and a resounding hallelujah for its ending. Many thanks to the author for bringing a fictional story to "life". Excellent job with very minor editing issues. I was encapsulated in a very believable scenario.

If you like complicated cases, twisted plots and sudden events that will grab your heart, this is a book for you. You'll like the characters - laugh with their triumps and tear up when the unexpected strikes - and root for them to win. Grammar Grannie says, " You have to love a character who worries when he ends a sentence with a preposition." And, she's right.

Excellent plot, well told. The author is obviously an experienced attorney, and he does a good job of explaining legal procedures without getting overly tedious. The only thing I found a little puzzling was his apparent need to describe the sex practices of one of the characters and his wife in lurid detail. That just seemed unnecessary, and detracted from the overall quality

More than just another story about lawyers and greed. Warren artfully drew characters that carried my interest throughout. The story is a great insider look at the practice and life of a trial lawyer. A great book to read especially if you have ever wondered what the practice of law is really like.
