I listened to it while driving on my Kindle, so I can't provide feedback for proper grammar or spelling. It did keep me interested and awake while listening, though. Would read another of his books, if the opportunity arises. I drive almost 600 miles a day for work, so I'm sure I'll get that opportunity soon.

I first started this book as a filler between other authors that I read. It has a good story that goes back to the Cold War spy thrillers of the 1970’s and 80’s, even though it is set in more modern times. Story moves at a good pace and the action sequences are not over the top and very believable.

I have always enjoyed spy novels. As a history major I also enjoy books such as this one that travel back in time and teach us a little something about a country or a government.
This book never stopped with action scenes. It was a fun read. It was the first book I had read from this author. I look forward to his future books.
Count to Ten: A Private Novel :: The House on Foster Hill :: And Other Perils of an Appalachian Childhood - Running on Red Dog Road :: A Riveting Psychological Thriller about the Perfect Marriage :: A psychological thriller so tense it will take your breath away

Jack Arbor is a wonderful storyteller and his writing is superb. The Russian Assassin is a thriller which will grab you, and you will not be able to put it down. I have rated it 5 stars because it is very good. I have now read all three of the Max Austin thrillers and I would rate each one as 5 stars.

Really interesting once you get into the book, the best thing about it is the characters are realistic, even if they do appear to be just short of super hero status, they aren't super heroes and aren't afraid of their mistakes. T

It was a page turner. Not since my introduction to "Jason Bourne" have I been so excited about a protagonist. Keep up the good writing Arbor... you have the potential to be grouped with the Ludlum, Follett, Clancy club...

I think one of the best compliments a reader can give a book is you just can’t put the book down once tiu start reading. I couldn’t put this book down. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!

I recently came across Jack Arbor's Max Austin series and read the series in a couple weeks. I loved them! I’m a huge fan of spy/assassin novels (e.g., Ian Fleming, Noel Hynd, Daniel Silva, Lee Child, Vince Flynn), and these books were every bit as good. I’m looking forward to the next Max Austin book!

I would recommend this book to those that enjoy a fast-paced action novel with well developed characters. Max. Austin is much like Mitch Rapp for those of you familiar with that character. All in all, a great read that you will want to finish in one or two reads.

I have always enjoyed books of this nature, but this one story was over the top. I started it this morning and truly could not put it down. Great character development, and excitement with every page. Thanks so much for a great read!

Well written, fast paced, with a few plot twists this book was very enjoyable. Max and the other characters developed nicely. Looking forward to the next books

The chapters were a little short for my liking. Over 50 chapters is a lot for a book with around 300 pages

Really liked this. It is riveting, giving a view of cold war spy world. Some really bad guys, then wonderful shades of gray. Going to keep with the series.Recommend for readers who like spy thrillers.

I thought it was very good, it held my interest trying to figure out how max thinks and plans for the project?! I'm not sure that I have ever met a personality like his? Also, I wondered if there is any clandestine group in the US like what was portrayed in the book?

I could not put this book down. I actually read it in one sitting. The action was well-paced and the characters were believable. There was just enough description of the scenery to showcase the action without overbearing the reader. I highly recommend this book.

Well paced and written, could us more character development, lacking in humour, interests, , likeable characters come off cold and calculating which helps the plot move quickly but didn’t develop a connection to them.

This book was great in my opinion. It has many interesting twists and turns keeping one glued to the next corner of detail. I'm really glad I found this and hope to read more of Jack's books. Max Austin is just the beginning.

An action packed thriller that is well written. Tense, suspenseful, and detailed much akin to a Tom Clancy novel, without having to sift through pages on pages of political backstory and briefings. Excited to see where the story goes from here!

I liked the book, even though a bit implausible. Max’s Soviet and KGB upbringing made him a heartless murdering sociopath and by a twist of fate and help from the US CIA easily turned him into a good family loving spy hero.

Lot of good stuff here. Got a bit confusing at the end. Didn't seem to be clarified whether Max's father was a prick or not. Also, it would have been nice if Max got laid at least once. Maybe with Kate.

I had to quit reading this book because of a previous engagement! When I returned home I finished the book! I am delighted to say Max Austin is a character I'm looking forward to reading about again. Good work Jack Arbor!
