I was expecting the same old girl caught between two guys plus a little fantasy thrown in story line, but I was pleasantly surprised, I very much enjoyed the storyline, it moved along, and left me wanting to read more.
I would recommend this book for any and all.

This book was interesting, and I truly enjoyed how uniquely it was written. The characters were engaging and had more reasonable human responses to varying circumstances than most books I have read. Well done Kaitlyn Davis. I will be reading more of your books!

If you are a fantasy fan and like when a book ends with a cliffhanger you'll like A Dance of Dragons. It was well written but the cliffhanger was a mark for me. well developed characters and fluent story line. It's a must for fantasy readers!

There are many turns and twists, good story line, and most important entertaining. It kept me reading when I should have been doing other things, I have already bought the sequel, so I guess I should start reading!

I love these books just as much as I loved the Midnight Fire Series! It had everything I love in a series! Romance, tension, mysterious secrets, it had it all! I highly recommend this book to all of my friends and family, and anyone reading this review! It is free, give it a shot! You won't regret it!
You should also check out The Midnight Fire series by Kaitlyn Davis. That is an awesome series, like this one!

This series was recommended to me via the store, and so far I have not been sorry. Quickened breath, nerves taut with anticipation and anxiety...A Dance of Dragons is definitely not for the faint of heart, and I would not have it any other way.

True Rating: 3.5

I try to give 1/2 ratings as little as possible. In this case I was torn between really liking it and finding it lacking in a few areas. If I were to only consider how much I liked the story itself It would have probably received 4 stars instead of 3.5. I go a bit more into this in my review on my blog.

As a bundle both of the stories included do indeed compliment each other, but you don't really find out how until you have read a good chunk of the book, which somewhat annoyed me. I liked the two main characters quite a bit, but found that they were not a developed as much as they could have been. because of the lack of full character exploration, it was also hard for me to become invested in secondary characters, which is disappointing considering what occurs with each of the characters.

This is partly due to how fast the story moves along. I generally do not like when a story moves along too slowly, but there is something to be said about such books. With those books the reader is at least given time to fall in love with the world and characters within. A Dance of Dragons moves along too quickly for the reader to do just that and in my experience, leaves the reader somewhat unsatisfied with the book.

That is not to say that I did not enjoy the book, because I actually truly did. I look forward to reading the rest of the series when I get the opportunity. I'm curious to find out the answers to what I found was missing in the first book.

(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a review).

(This review may contain spoilers).

I found myself quite enjoying reading this book. The novella at the beginning wasn't really long, but I felt it was a good introduction to the world and the characters. I did feel sorry for Leena in the first story. She was quite naive, but I felt that made sense with her upbringing.

Leena's country was also particularly vicious. I noticed there was a contrast between the two main kingdoms. I felt the author did a really good job of showing the different cultures in the kingdoms... and also how different Jinji's people were in comparison to the rest of the world.

I did like Jinji and Rhen as characters. It was good that the author stuck to limited third person, because it wasn't so confusing to read. I really liked their interactions and although I felt like parts of the story were glossed over, I did feel that the important parts were handled well.

It was interesting to see Rhen's decision to be a spymaster and how his reputation was so at odds with his personality. I was quite sad to see his relationship with his family, though. Bad childhoods seem to happen a lot in fantasy...

I liked the contrast in the different powers Rhen and Jinji had. I also felt that the traumatic events each had gone through were handled really well. It was also good to see Jinji, at least, interact with Leena from the previous story.

There weren't a lot of minor characters who appeared and were named, but the ones who were came across as really interesting and well-rounded. I especially liked getting glimpses of Rhen's relationship with the Captain of the ship he and Jinji were on.

I did feel that the author did a good job of keeping to the knowledge that the characters had when it switched over to their POVs, which was good. And it was nice to see the way their friendship grew and how real it felt.

I was left somewhat confused by the end of the book, but I'm hoping that answers will be provided in the next books in this series. I do intend to read those at some point in the future. This was a good fantasy with an intriguing world and storyline and I hope to see more of Rhen and Jinji.

* Disclaimer* I received this starter bundle in exchange for an honest review. First of all this is the first story I have read by this author. The prequel was short with the perfect amount of story buildup for the next story in the series. Not being a fan of prequels however, I felt it could have added a bit more to the story plot not to mention have been a bit longer in depth. The main story was much better with lots of vivid detail describing a beautiful land and touches upon a shadow being going around killing men , women and children alike with what at first seems to be for no purpose. later we find out the reason.
Jinji, is the female lead character of the story and finds herself alone in the world, her family and friends all killed by the Shadow being until she comes across Rhen who saves her from certain death. The two become inseparable and with each holding part of them back, they learn to trust one another, slowly opening up themselves to each other.
The series has what anyone would look for in a book, a hidden romance, plenty of danger, well thought out characters as well as the chance for the two main characters to possibly save their world, or at least one another. The author has included lots of descriptive writing that flows well within the storyline plot, encouraging the reader to read further and further, constantly wondering what will happen next and although I personally am not a fan of short stories, this one was put together nicely. A well written story that I will definitely be reading the rest of the series vas it becomes available.

I received a copy for an honest review

I liked the novella a lot. I felt really sorry for Leena.

However I had some more difficult time getting into the shadow soul.
Will probably read it again though.

If I would have read the prfeview closely, I would have realized it was a novella. I have never been satisfied with a novella and this was no exception. The first book was just starting to get interesting, then it was over. No warning, no cliffhanger, just over. What a total bummer. I am going thru all my many, many downloaded books and weeding them out so this doesn't happen to me again.

Thank you for letting me try it for free because if I had paid, I would have been rating this as a big fat zero.

I am righting this so I could get this book at a discounted price, I have yet to make it to the end but I am hooked. I am not sure if it is just because I love dragons or if it truly is captivating. I truly recomend you pick this up and get lost with some mystical beings.

I'm very torn on my feelings for this book. It was very well written and the Author is extremely talented. But the book left me wanting more. For some people that is a good thing but for me not so much. I need closure and the stories in this book are major cliff hangers. I really wanted to know what happened to the characters in the first story (The golden cage). The story was so good and I really felt sad for them. The book is really good at drawing you in but just leaves you hanging at the end. The Author could have done so much more with these stories. They were just too short for me. If you like quick eventful books with no real ending these are the books for you. The writing is very good I just have a problem with how ending or lack of ending that's why I give it a 4 star.

I received the digital download of this Series Starter Bundle for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. It took me a little bit to get into the book. I have not had the opportunity to read all of the stories yet, but from the ones I have read; they are interesting and well written. I was not thrilled with the cliff hanger, but I guess if it is a series starter, it's to be expected. I would have much more preferred one entire book on one story rather than a book of compiled short stories. Short stories just really aren't my thing, and I am more pron to by the second book in a series if I have read the first one in its entirety. I would probably recommend this series to teenage girls between 13 and 17. I have not come across any sexual content in this book, and the little violence that is in the story is mild and not overly graphic.

While the writing style was enjoyable, I became frustrated reading these short stories. The author draws you into the storyline and then ends it. This author has great potential but needs to gather it into one great read instead of numerous daydream ideas.
I am reviewing this book as part of an AMZ review trader free offer. I truly hope to see future works by this author that are better planned out and longer more fleshed out stories.

This is a great short story it totally captured my interest because while it is fantasy it's not super far out there and it's written descriptive enough to allow you to picture the words as you read them definitely worth checking out if the title grabbed you you won't be disappointed!
