I am a big fan of Sam's blog and was so excited when her cookbook came out! It's such a fun read with simple recipes that I can't wait to try! I love that every recipe has a full-page picture. Even my non-vegan friends and family will happily eat Sam's recipes. Sam's blog and cookbook are truly wonderful! :)

Very easy to follow directions and great photos. Real ingredients that are easy to find in your grocery store. No franken meats or packaged processed item in the recipes. If you like to cook and are thinking of becoming vegan this is a great starter cookbook for you.

I have 8 vegan cookbooks and Sam’s is my absolute favorite. Every recipe is AMAZING!!! Not only are they delicious, they are simple as well. My favorites so far are: veggie pot pie, bbq black bean sandwich with cole slaw, nachos and blueberry muffins. The photos are beautiful and the recipes are very easy to follow. I give this book a 10!!!

I am madly in love with this cookbook! No weird ingredients! Simple to follow recipes! The results are scrumptious! I am in awe of how long it must have taken to perfect the recipes so that everything tastes "authentic" to the nonvegans in my family! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Spectacular Vegan cookbook. She utilizes multiple replacements for different animal products including cheeses. milk and eggs resulting in great tasting comfort dishes. These include vegetable lasagna, tofu bolognese. Also has great tips for storage. Looking forward to her next cookbook.

So far, every single recipe I've tried from this book have been delicious! The mozzarella and nacho "cheeses" are amazing, and the Boss BBQ Veggie burgers were a big hit. Definitely a must have cookbook for vegans!

I have about 20 vegan cookbooks, and at least that many more that are vegetarian. I discovered Sam's blog a while back when searching for a good vegan ricotta. It's the best one I've found, so I knew her other recipes would be great, too. If you want to make delicious vegan meals with clear, easy to follow directions and ingredients easily found in supermarkets, this is a perfect cookbook! How about BBQ Cauliflower Steaks, or Caramelized Onion Pizza? Oh, and make a double batch of her chocolate chip cookies, because they'll all be gone before you know it!

I love Sam's website so i bought this book without reviewing or checking it out in a store. it is disappointing. if you have a high speed blender and want to add cashews to everything, this book is a winner. but nothing particularly new or interesting in the book. there is a good selection of recipe types but overall, sub-par compared to the awesomeness of her site.

I'm a fan of Sam's recipes so I was super excited when I found out she was writing a cookbook. And this book does not disappoint! I want to make every recipe! I've been a vegan for 12 years and I don't have a lot of free time to dedicate making fancy vegan dishes with fancy expensive ingredients that are impossible to locate in my small Ohio town. This book honestly is "fuss-free"! Easy to follow recipes with ingredients that I can find at my local grocery store. This truly is an awesome cookbook!

Your book is EXACTLY the cookbook I've been searching for in my 20 years as a vegetarian (now, probably 90% vegan and climbing thanks to your book!). Seriously, your book is not only well-written, upbeat, and delicious...it really is the only vegan cookbook I've seen (and I have spent hundreds of dollars on vegan cookbooks, only to donate them), that really makes healthy and homemade and vegan, delicious, nutritious, and easy...AND one that satisfies my husband (who is only a vegetarian at home), and my two picky girls! Also, I absolutely love the photographs, the fun and quirkiness, the fonts, the art...it all adds up to everything I was looking for in a cookbook!

Thank you for not only writing a great cookbook, but for your really fun posts and You Tube videos! I really look forward to them!

Have been enjoying this delightful vegan cookbook. The recipes I have tried have all be good. I think that sometimes it would be a good idea to prepare the main dish and let it marinate in the fridge overnight and cook the next day. That way all of the ingredients meld together for a more delicious experience.

I want to Julia & Julia this cook book .. aka make every single recipe one day at a time! I haven't made much yet but everything I have made has been super easy and amazingly delicious. It seriously had everything you could possibly need.. breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, desserts, sauces .. even a coffee creamer! I also LOVE that each recipe has a photo... I can't stand when cook books don't have photos of the dish. What else can you ask for in a cook book??

Easy, not many ingredients, delicious recipes with accompanying photos ... Buy it, make it, enjoy it! ? You will not be disappointed.

My ONLY and I mean only complaint is not having calorie information .. but it's not a diet book so it doesn't need it I guess.

This is by far my families favorite vegan cookbook!! The meals really are fuss free...and delicious!! We’ve tried quite a few recipes already and would make them all again! My picky 6 year old son hasn’t complained about any of the meals and has been having fun picking out what we are going to try next!

Oil aside, this is my fave most fave vegan cookbook. Because many of the recipes contain oil I use the recipes for inspiration and have made wonderful creations as a result. I do so wish vegan gurus would remember that oil is a highly refined food that is quite the opposite of health-promoting. Isn’t human health just as important as animal welfare?

Just got this book. She explains some vegan basics up front very clearly - finally someone did a step by step of cashew prep! However, I was disappointed that these recipes are so carb heavy! Great ideas, but if you’re watching your carb load, this contains a lot of pasta, pizza, bread, rice dishes, and cakes. Her soups are promising, and the pasta ideas look great, but the proportion of carbs in this book will always limit it to an occasional use for me.

I’ll update my rating and possibly add a star once I’ve gone through some recipes.

This book has become a staple in our home. Sam’s bubbly personality comes through and the recipes are truly fuss free. The photography is gorgeous and there is a picture for every recipe. Many vegan cookbooks require a ton of prep and long ingredient lists, while those have a place and time, sometimes you just need to throw together something quickly. Enter this book. My teen daughter really loves it and has prepared many of the recipes as well.

The Get Well Noodle Soup is on repeat in our home whenever anyone is unwell. We love the TLTs, Spicy Braised Tofu Burritos, and Hawaiian Pizza. Her You Won’t Believe It’s Cream Cheese Frosting is a revelation.

Love, love, love this cookbook! Learn to make your own cheese, patties, "meat"balls. The lentil loaf is the most amazing thing I've ever eaten, well besides the chocolate cake! :) If you want to avoid store bought, processed food, this book is ideal. Makes being vegan easy and tasty!

I am from the Netherlands and cooking the recipes from this book is really fuss free. I have already made several recipes from this book and they do not disappoint!! Fun, easy and oh did I already mention FUSS FREE?! Probably one of the best books out there!
I do not understand the lady who gave a 1 star rating because the cheese needs to be made (which is ridiculously easy by the way) and not store bought... weird! Buy this book!!

The recipes are easy to follow and yummy! Sam makes it easier than ever to go vegan for first timers like me. I want to cook more and not rely on processed vegan foods which aren't always healthy. While using her recipes, I have added or deleted ingredients with ease to suit my personal taste. Fuss Free Vegan is for everyone! First timers or long time vegans will all find many things they will love to eat! If you live with non-vegans or bring your dishes to parties with people eating various diets, all will be pleased and probably surprised that they are eating vegan food that is so delicious! You must watch Sam in her YouTube videos online to see what a sweetie she is. She is smart, kind, beautiful, and classy! Thank you Sam for helping me go vegan!

During my ongoing quest for vegetarian/vegan friendly recipes, I happened to stumble upon this gem of a book; boy, am I sure glad I did! While I have yet to take the leap toward becoming a full-fledged vegan (currently a lacto-ovo vegetarian), I prefer to go meatless and forgo animal products whenever possible. For me, it's been difficult to find plant-based or meatless recipes that stand out from the typical array of pastas, Mexican food, and soups. I initially checked out a copy of Fuss - Free Vegan from my local library -- along with a stack of similar cookbooks -- bookmarking and trying a few of Sam's recipes throughout the designated loan period. Immediately after trying her Better Than Take-Out Pad Thai, I knew I had found something special, and after the Mexican Sweet Potato & Black Bean Burrito I was hooked! When it came time to give the book up, I was genuinely bummed -- I knew I had to own it!

As a newly proclaimed vegetarian and vegan-curious individual, Sam's book does not disappoint! I make the Extra-Banana-Y Banana Bread and the aforementioned Sweet Potato & Black Bean Burrito (as street tacos) on a weekly basis, which has been life-changing. The avocado cilantro sauce recipe that accompanies the burrito is out of this world -- I cannot emphasize that enough. I can't wait to try everything (yes, EVERYTHING) else in this book -- it's a treasure that every vegetarian, vegan, and vegan-curious person should have on their shelf!

Just got my copy last week and the hardest part was deciding what to make first. I had a pie crust in the freezer so I made the pumpkin pie. Ohhhhh my!!! Better than any non-vegan pie I've ever had and super easy. I love her recipes and this book is filled with wonderful and easy, delicious recipes that leave people jealous that I eat better than they do and vegan to boot! Buy this book, you won't be sorry.

This book is on my list to buy when I am in the US in a couple of months. I love all Sam's recipes from her blog and... not everyone lives in the US full time or at all and I mostly live in South Africa where there are hardly any ready made vegan items. I always check out the previews for books to make sure they are what I am looking for. I bought a book a while back that I have never used as nearly all the recipes use ready made US products. That's why I now check the preview/look inside feature.

It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken is my favorite blog.

I have over 25 vegan cookbooks, but I've been cooking with this one exclusively ever since I purchased it. Everything I've made has been amazing - easy, inexpensive, delicious and most of the ingredients are already in my pantry! Her recipes are different from any of my other cookbooks. Clever and no processed products (which are fine - but I don't like to cook with them.) I also appreciate the little details she gives in the recipes so you know you're on the right track while you're cooking.

I've made the banana bread, pineapple hawaiian pizza, pizza dough, spinach and artichoke dip, lettuce wraps, pillowy pancakes (yes you need this pancake recipe in your life), rice paper bacon (yum!), coconut bacon, tofu bolognese (my omni husband liked it so much he asked me to double the recipe next time so there will be more of the "meat") and cheesecake.

It's a pleasure to have a book of easy-to-cook recipes that all turn out great!

I LOVE SAM’S RECIPES! I’ve never been great at cooking & once I went vegan I was nervous. I found Sam’s blog and started trying her recipes and they are so easy!! Also, they are sooooo yummy. If I can do it anyone can do it! I have bought a couple copies of this book for gifts because it’s that good. I highly recommend buying this book, especially if you’re new to being vegan :) I have been vegan for a year now and always use her recipes!

I'm not new to vegan cooking - it can be time consuming and painful (according to 2 popular recipe books I own)... but Fuss-Free Vegan recipes are easy to make, contain items often on hand and even the kids use it! First thing after receiving it, I asked my 14 & 11 yo daughters to make me the Blueberry Bliss Muffins. A half hour later, I was fussing over my oh-so-delicious warm muffins! They didn't ask me one question during the making - proves the recipes are simple! Perfectly fuss-free recipes FROM SCRATCH - and great ones for every day cooking or to get you started to vegan-hood! My all time favorite go-to Chickpea Salad is in it too!

I loved this cookbook so much that I bought two and gifted one to my boss and his wife who are also vegan. I've made many of her recipes from her website long before the cookbook came out and every single one has been easy and delicious! The best thing about this book is that I already have most of the ingredients already in my kitchen so no need to make a shopping list and go to the store to purchase the ingredients unlike some other vegan cookbooks. If you want good, healthy and easy vegan recipes, this is the cookbook for you! Thanks Sam, for giving us the gift of Fuss-Free Vegan! It's the only cookbook I recommend to friends and family that are thinking about making a change to vegan!

I love this book. I have several vegan cookbooks, and they almost all have some kind of super specific, over priced, hard to find ingredients that kind of stop me from trying any recipes. People tell me to "use something else" or "just leave it out", but I'm the kind of person who needs an exact recipe to follow, if I'm using a recipe. What's the point of a recipe if you don't?
Anyway... I have never had this problem with Fuss-free vegan. I know what every single ingredient is and where to find it, everything is explained really well and all the recipes I've tried have been an enormous success!
I've been following Sam's website pretty much from vegan day 1, and she really is amazing at figuring out how to make something that is so NOT vegan, be vegan! I mean, I have made creme brulee from a recipe in this book! and a carbonara pasta! these are things I kind of figured I would never be eating again and I had made peace with that. But now I feel like the sky's the limit. If I have a non vegan craving, the first place I look is in Fuss-free vegan, or on Sam's website, because more often than not, she has already made a vegan version that is AMAZING

Excellent! Exactly the type of cookbook a truly health conscious vegan is looking for. I myself am totally against buying anything storebought I haven’t made myself (ex. vegan cheese, sour cream, etc). The recipes I’ve looked at so far even show you how to make these own staples so you can completely do away with all this storebought processed garbage (if you don’t already). I give Fuss Free Vegan an A+! I look forward to trying many more of these recipes from Sam.

Thank you Sam for a book full of delicious and easy to make recipes. I appreciate finding ways to make my favorite meals, not using processed vegan foods. While I too like to indulge and have ready made foods sometimes, I am always looking to find ways to incorporate recipes using healthy options. Everything you have in your recipes are easy to find in my local grocery stores and a final bonus, my teenage picky eater, wants to be vegan too!

Thank you for helping my family continue our plant based diet!

I absolutely LOVE this book! Not only have I been an avid follower of Sam's since I became a vegan, but now to have a book of her incredible recipes like the Melty Stretchy Gooey Vegan Mozzarella, and many more... well, I'm hooked! Get this book if you want to make all your non-vegan favorites with vegan ingredients! Lots of comfort food and recipes that remind me of childhood, but in a better for you way! Thanks Sam for making such a great cookbook!

I was so excited my husband got me this book for Christmas. I've been a fan of Sam for years! I've always enjoyed her recipes and bubbly, witty personality. I haven't made anything yet, but I know it will all be delicious. One of my favorite bits about this book is that there's not a lot of crazy hard to find ingredients, I appreciate that everything is easy to come by and I don't have to go to 6 grocery stores to find the right thing. I did notice a few recipes which are huge favorites on her blog are included, which is fine by me, as it seems she had made some slight updates. I can always count on her for something everyone can enjoy.

I should have paid more attention to what this book is about. It uses coconut oil, coconut milk and white flour, which my heart diet does not allow. The recipes look like they taste great for someone who eat these products. I just happen to watch my saturated fat intake and can't use this book.

Good recipes, but nothing special. You can find just about everything on this cookbook online, for free. Additionally, the author's personality just doesn't do it for me. Maybe I'm a little too dark and brooding and cynical, but she's just a little too bright and bubbly and excited for me. However, I like to support vegans and women and self-made people, so I bought it.

I gave this book one star because it is anything but fuss free. This book is for people who like to spend all their time working on food preparation. Making your own nut cheese?? Puh-lease! Then she gives portion sizes in her recipes according to her home-made cheese recipes, so how much of my store-bought vegan cheese to use?
But the worst thing about this book is that because of its misnomer title, people who are considering becoming vegan and looking for a truly fuss free way to do that, will take one look at this book, think they have to make their own cheese and veggie burgers, and decide that there's no easy way to become vegan, which is what causes a lot of people to eschew veganism. And that will cost the lives of millions of animals that could be saved if more people became vegan.
There are easy ways to be vegan- like using Gardein, Follow Your Heart, Daiya, Amy's, The Vegg, Charm School chocolates and some Morningstar products. There are great websites to purchase vegan foods, but you'd never know it with this book. I'd have no problem with her collection of recipes if she had just not deceptively named it "Fuss Free". There are fuss free vegan recipes, but these aren't.
The author has done more damage to the cause of veganism with this book than good.

I bought this recipe book specifically based on someone else's bad review of it. That review said that the recipes were too hard, that you shouldn't have to make your own vegan cheese when you can just buy some. Well heck, I *want* to make my own vegan cheese! Ok I haven't yet, but I have made a couple of things so far - mayonnaise (amazingly quick and simple and tastes exactly like the animal-product alternative), BBQ sauce (because I had no idea how darn easy it really was), and these two things were combined with other yumminess to make the chickpea salad. WOWZER! I mean, I love chickpeas and I love salad, but holy smokes this recipe was amazing. I reckon it was the ranch dressing that tipped it over the edge from great to incredible. The next day I went out looking to buy bigger bowls to eat this salad from, because our measly little ones just weren't big enough to hold this much deliciousness in the quantity that I wanted to eat it. Thankyou Sam for such a beautiful recipe book, I look forward to making every single thing in it!

I did not purchase thru the store, I purchased at my local Chapters. I LOVE my fuss free book. It uses all easily sourced ingredients and easy to make recipes. Thank you Sam for creating the perfect, all inclusive recipe book. I look forward to following your new recipes and progress.

I will admit, I eat organic meat twice a week on the days I work out but am trying to limit animal products for the majority of my meals. But all the vegan cookbooks just seemed like quinoa kale surprise and the like. The author has taken our favorite childhood comfort meals, lasagna, burgers, pancakes, waffles, scones, meatloaf, and quickbread, etc and made them Vegan, including an amazing substitute for cheddar/nacho chese that's WAY better than the store bought. I can't eat soy, and although there are a few recipes with tofu, not all of them are and I found a number of soy free recipes that my non-vegan family now requests. Most are made in 30 minutes or less and are WAY better for you than the processed frozen vegan meals out there. I'm glad I bought the spiral bound copy, it's really big and easy to read while cooking and the photos are amazing.

This cookbook is SO cute with tons of photos! The recipes taste great too. My one complaint is that she doesn’t really offer alternatives or substitution measurements (such as if you don’t want to make your own vegan mozzarella and you prefer to use store bought). But overall, extremely approachable and tasty recipes that almost anyone will like and feel familiar with. No weird ingredients in this cookbook.
