Robin Carr is my favorite author. When I came across this book I was do excited. Started reading and could not put it down. Would recommend it to someone who never read her books. It just takes one and you are hooked. I absolutely loved it and would read over and over.

I Love Robyn Carr's
Virgin River books
If you havent read them yet, GET THEM!
They are KEEPERS.
I just wish Jack's bar & grill was a real place.
My butt would be sitting on one of those bar stools,
waiting for a huge hunky single man to walk in.

I have read most of Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. Typically I love her books, but this one even though I read it. I read it hoping I'd see some heat and excitement factor. It just did not excite at all. I understand it is for single moms and they are trying to promote this Zoe place. Which I get, great, but it's just not mom's out there.. it's dads and grandparents who are taking care of their grandchildren too. I can see referencing it once in a while, but to continuously make the obsession about it was ridiculous and really pulled away from the storyline itself. It ended very abrupt and I guess I didn't realize it was a short book. Clay could have been a little more of a "man on the quest" so to speak. All he talked about was how everyone he knew were single moms. It makes it seems they want us to think EVERYONE is only a single mom. Not always the case and I feel they should have considered single dads too. Many time I've read articles where the mother dies after giving birth and leaves the father alone to raise a newborn. That was never addressed. Plus I can't see a cashier running out to the parking lot. I would think she'd tell someone to call the police.. and then for her employee to fire her based on that. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen! Basically the book needed more of a storyline then just focusing on "single mom this" "single mom that" and that's what it seemed to do. Found myself skimming thru pages when I realized that was all it was going to be about.

I sure hope her other books are back to normal.

I had read the reviews of this, and having read it after reading the Virgin River series, I was not impressed. I agree with a lot of the other comments, so I won't re-iterate those, but I just wanted to mention that there are also single FATHERS out there with even less support - a single father being a highlight of Harvest Moon come to think of it.

This story was beautifully written and heart grabbing. I fell in love with the characters and wanted to strangle the store manager! I love how this story gives education about abuse and help that is needed and given. Just powerful.

Having read several Robyn Carr books before, I chose this merely for the author, and I'm glad I did. Her characters are believable and likeable, and the situations current and relevant. Learning about how a particular social issue effects people moves you to become involved in your own community. All this while enjoying a work of fiction.

This book was a gift to my heart, I love helping people and live to assist those in need . As a child with an absent father and a mother who did all she could to keep us afloat I respect this type of writing and it was also motivational.

I ENJOYED THIS BOOK AND WAS GLAD TO LEARN OF THE ZOE INSTITUTE FOR SINGLE MOTHERS. THE STORY WAS KIND OF PREDICTABLE BUT LEFT ME WITH A GOOD FEELING. ALSO MADE ME WONDER WHAT RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE IN OUR AREA.

Loved the storyline and the passion behind it. It isn't every day where you read a romance story with substance, but I felt as though the book taught a lot and could have a positive impact on various women in bad circumstances.

Any book by Robyn Carr about the town of Virgin River is a winner. She gets my interest immediately and I find I cannot put the book down until I am done reading it. It feels like you know all the people of the town with each book.

I have most everything Robin has written and can not wait for her next book! I re-read all of her books at least twice if not more. Grips you from the beginning. Always wish they were longer, hate to get to the end.

I loved Robyn Carr's Virgin River Series.... all of 'em. This is just one of the series and as good as any of the rest of the stories. If she kept writing more books about Virgin River, I'd keep reading them.... Loved the series and she's a great story teller to boot.

It's nice to read a story about people who could be you or me in a tough situation, looking for help and a break. This book provides a lot of insight on single mothers who've gotten out of bad situations. And it gives hope to those women who still are trying to find a better life for themselves and their kids. It's also a good reminder that everyone has some skill they can volunteer with to help.

Very touching story from the start to the end. Very well written. Since I had read the Virgin River series I was glad to see someone's of the characters from that pulled into this story. Very timely topic and brings up a lot of things that are being faced by some (and some men) in today's world.

The need for organizations such as are mentioned in this book are of great importance! As I am still reading this book I have yet to come to a final conclusion. The read is good, if not a little slow. Clay is too good to be true! Dory understandably very angry. Anxious to see how it ends.

The recognition that there is a nation wide program so readily available   merits positive emphasis for experiencing this novel. Having a single parent in our family I value any  effort to educate anyone to the basic needs of that parent. Our heroine finds a comforting , nurturing love. Wow!

Its a well-written book, but it feels very heavy handed about the problems "single mothers" have to deal with. It actually feels like the evangelical minister who is so over-the-top with their religion that it turns most people off. Also, it seems to imply that only single mothers have to deal with certain issues - like having to take time off because of sick children. A lot of child-rearing within two-parent households is still done by the female, so to imply that this is a single parent-only issue is rather insulting.

It's very gratifying to be entertained for a good while and at the same time receive interesting information that may be useful now or later. The info from the book and the preface could be, and I'm sure already has, made an extremely positive difference in many lives.

This book was very interesting. I had never heard of the Zoe Institute or Rhonda Clemons. It is a story of courage and very heart warming. It follows the life of a single mother who survives with the help of Zoe. She makes a move, helps found another support group, finds resources, learns how to write grants and continues to share with other women who need help.

Too short and abrupt ending, especially when he characters are so alive and one hates to leave their world so quickly. Another wonderful story by Robyn Carr with amazing characters whom you want to befriend.

The purpose of Robyn Carr's story WAS to make people aware of the Zoe Institute. This was Robyn's story in the More Than Words Volume 6 book. Five bestselling authors wrote about five real-life heroines. To celebrate their accomplishments the authors wrote short stories inspired by these fabulous women. Good stories about great women.

This is the first book I have ever ready by Robyn Carr. I loved this short story of Dora a single mom of two kids who escapes an abusive relationship and moved to CA to start a new life. Her sexy neighbor Clay a firefighter tries to help her out by mowing her grass, looking after her car, befriending her children and herself. She has a hard time opening up to him. Can she start loving again and letting a man help?

This story does have a message about the Zoe Institute that helps battered woman and children. The story is wonderful I think and has a nice romance to it. A quick and relaxing read.

Why a great story of patience and caring about other people and lending a helping hand when needed. Protecting kids and their mom's from abusive situations and where they can go to seek help. Good for Robyn Carr.
