Classified Paranormal Thriller Series Book 1) - A Horror Novel (The Graveyard

I read voraciously, usually one book a day, two if the book is under 400 pages. That being said, sometimes it takes a couple of books to make a book series one I would want to continue reading. Some don't make it past the first chapters. This book immediately grabbed my interest, never losing it. I knew by the last twenty pages I was going to be disappointed that the story was great, the characters more than likeable, and a direction I wanted to continue to follow... however that last page read, the kindle took me here to write a review , and immediately I knew there were no more books yet to read. I have to say that finding a new author was great, and I hope you give this first book a try. I don't think that Ford or Mike will disappoint you!

This is my first book about paranormal investigations. I have seen a few TV shows regarding contacting the spirits but none of the shows were as riveting or exciting as this book was. I loved the characters, Ford and Mike. This was their first time back together since they had a falling out when they were on television with their show. Anything to do with the spirit world has always intrigued me but I never read a book about the paranormals. Loved this book!

Good paranormal story without being over the top. Suspense. I don't read horror stories and it isn't. I liked the characters. Will definitely read the next book. May seem like a cliffhanger, but really isn't as the story for this book is tied up at the end. There is an underlying story which I am sure will continue in more books. I enjoyed the book and recommend it.

First off, I am ashamed to say that I didn't expect much from this book. I was so wrong lol. It had mystery, it had heart, it had some scary scenes! I was reading it in the middle of the night with all the lights off and realized I was terrified during the investigation part! I am a huge fan of the show Ghost Adventures and thats what drew me to read this in the first place. I am so glad I did! It drew me in from the first page and kept me hooked wanting to know what was going to happen. It's very well put together, easy and flowing writing style, has characters with heart and brains. I highly recomend!

Ok- I'm not going into actual details of the book, just my opinion.

I enjoyed it very much, to the point I was reading it in bed on my phone last night to finish it. That's a pretty good thing:). Excellent character development and actually very believable story with solid plot. A damned good read and now I'm done writing a well deserved review I'm going to download and read the next book!

Easy to read, it flowed nicely and there was a good build to the story. I just got the other 2 books in the series after finishing this one.
I love anything paranormal, and this one had a few surprises!!!

This was well written with just the right amount of humor. The author is very good at analogies, giving examples of a thought you'd never think of yourself to explain or describe what the character means.
Not easy to do, or do well. You have to be creative in a talented way that just comes natural; it'something you can't learn.
I'd love to read future work from this writer...

What an amazing book!! I stayed up all night reading it because I couldn't put it down. A great storyline and I cannot wait for the next book in this series to come out!! An absolute must read!!! Ernie knows how to pull you into the story to keep your attention! A++++++++ A definite must read in my opinion! Can't wait for the second installment of this book!

I was a little disappointed. I do my reading mostly between 10:30 and 1:00 in the morning and I thought I would have nightmares. But other than a couple of little spots, it was almost a comedy. Plus I didn't realize it was part of a series. I thought we were going to take care of the Dark Man in this book. I will read some more and see if my opinion changes.

This was a decent ghost hunting/paranormal mystery. I enjoyed the characters and the plot flowed fast. I was a bit disappointed upon closure. There seemed to be a lot left unresolved. I doubt I will personally continue this series. I am glad it was offered as a kindleunlimited.

Well what can I say, I loved the book, right up there with favorite author Steven King. I can't wait to read the next book. I can truthfully say spooked me a little. I'm a believer of all things paranormal and this book is amazing. Fast becoming one of my favorite authors. This series should be amazing. Thanks so much for sharing your talent

What a treat! A paranormal story that had a beginning, middle, and an ending that didn't make me question why I wasted my time. This story was well thought out and flowed from beginning to end, not to mention made me pause before turning out the lights, listening to every last noise the house made as it settled.

With so many books and television series on Ghost Hunting it seems they all have the same story line. Usually at the end of the book or the end of show on Tv I have lost interest .So This book is like a breath of fresh air with its creative and spooky page turning story. Aces to the Author and I cant wait to see how this series plays out...

This could've been better had it NOT been written in the first person. The storyline is intriguing if, a bit slow. There were aslo unanswered questions left. Some parts dragged on to the point that I started skimming the book.

I love the subject matter but the distinct attitudes of FAF and Mike were not always clear. I liked all secondary guys, and want lots more of Ulysses. Carla is shaping up to be wonderfully awful. I'll read the second book just to see....

Great storytelling, great editing. I love paranormal thrillers, this delivers. Ford tells the story, if he wasn't giving so many internal corny thoughts then it would have flowed better to me. I will read the next, hopefully he grows as a character/protagonist.

Great story about a demon hunter and his investigations. Found it hard to put down! Appreciate that while the lead uses the Lord's Prayer he is not a religious fanatic. Will read more from this author.

Excellent writer, he makes you feel like you are experiencing everything going on in the book. I felt the pain and fear. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I could not put the book down. If you are into scary paranormal stories this is an excellent book for you.

Not what I was expecting but a pretty good read. I don't usually read books with a paranormal theme but I did get drawn into the story and enjoyed the characters.The writing is good and only a few typos. It kept me going until the end and I look forward to a sequel or two.

The Dark Man is an excellent novel! I didn't want to put it down and read it in one day. I have read several novels by this author and he never disappoints me with his ability to keep me engaged in his stories. The book is full of suspense and action with believable characters. If you like supernatural books, this is the book for you. You will be pulled into the 'other world' and possibly paying more attention to those sounds that go bump in the night. Great book!

This book really pulls you into the realm of ghosts and demons. I was scared to walk through my house a few times as I read at night in the dark and in bed. I love horror stories and don't scare easily but this book does it.

I read sci-fi to escape reality for a bit. This author satisfied my requirements with his ghost story slant. The lead character has flaws that he owns up to which I liked. Maybe a bit over done with his partner but still a worthy escape. I'll be looking for his follow-up stories.

This book is a fun trek into a paranormal investigator's adventure. Even though the main characters are fighting demons, the author makes the reader's journey enjoyable. Highly recommend and easy read!

Another great read by one of my favorite authors! Desmond Doane (aka Ernie Lindsay) has already got me hooked on this new series. I'm anxious to learn more about Ford, a character that I found fascinating. A real page turner!

An interesting start to a series. The characters are interesting enough, but I found it a little hard to get invested in their welfare. Well enough written, I will probably read the second in the series.

I've always wondered if all those paranormal TV shows have ever left a filming - left a family in need - behind with a worse situation than was originally in play. Did they just walk away with no look back?
The Dark Man addresses all those things I've wondered. The worst case scenario during a filming. The characters are real life in dealing with the debris left behind from a situation gone bad. An interesting new look at ghost hunting! Well worth your time to read!

This book had me hooked very quickly. I don't even believe in ghosts and such, but reading this book gave me goosebumps and I was having trouble sleeping at night :)
I'm glad this is a series because I definitely look forward to reading more of these adventures. I would totally recommend this book to anyone that likes scary stories or anyone that just wants to be entertained in general.
