Purchased this for someone who has anxiety that is crippling her life. I selected this book because I felt she had reached a point where she was mad enough about her anxiety to say, as the title states--"F-Anxiety"! This book is an honest and humorous take on anxiety that gives helpful techniques on coping. I didn't give it 5 stars because the book itself is too short. And although my recipient loved it, this book is not for everyone.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It's narrated by the author and he's pleasant enough to listen to and also offers great advice. It's short and sweet, and I've listened to it a few times as a way to relax a little and remember that anxiety is not going to consume me. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to have any part in that hippy dippy therapy sh*t because this is a whole other beast.

I am often racked with anxiety at the thought of reaching to achieve my dreams. This book plus the one called Dont let life punk you Don't let life Punk You: How to get up from a major life setback have really helped me get it together so I can help my family.

From the bottom of my heart I can only say thank you, I feel positive and ready for this since my visit to the hospital, hand on heart thought my number was up, having never had a panic attack before and shrugged off my anxiety until it literally wiped the floor with me I had no tools to deal with what was happening to me. It is early days but I feel like I can gain back some control and I've learnt about why I feel this way and what I can do to make positive changes and adapt my way of thinking rather than berating myself for being weak. I would recommend this many times over.

I am a disabled veteran with many PTSD and anxiety issues and I have read almost everything out there.... But this book was a bit different. I love the real talk and not all of the clinical jargon. This book is for the real person not some patient. It will not solve all of your problems but there is definitely some very sound advice and a few skills to add to your tool bag. Thanks doc a good read and I definitely will signup for your newsletter etc.. A solid 5 stars across the board!

An easy book to read with some good tips and explanations. But unfortunately it did not go as in depth as I would have hoped. There was hardly any new information, especially for someone whose life is so affected by anxiety. Perhaps this would be a better read for the average person to gain a better understanding of anxiety. Though, I appreciated the tone of the writing.

I've been struggling with anxiety for many years now, I finally recognized it and am working on it. This book is by far the best I have read so far! It's easy to read, funny and at the same time full of practical substance. I will be watching out for more work by Mr Duff!☺

Grabbed up this as an audio book today while I was at work. Trying to be proactive about my anxiety. Definitely the only book on anxiety that speaks my language. Sounds like I have a friend talking to me. Not a doctor or some boring person. Lots of good info. Lots to take in. I'll be listening to this book a few times to gather more information. I will say that it took my mind off of my anxiety for a while. Can't wait until volume 2 of this series. Thanks doc duff! Cool s***!

I bought this book on a whim. The title completely grabbed my attention. I love the way it was written .. it felt like it was directed entirely to me. The Author has a way of speaking to his readers like a friend giving advice. I always appreciate that. It was a quick, enjoyable & informative read. I would definitely recommend it sooo .. go get it!

I like the writer's approach to explaining the causes of anxiety and how a person can start to tackle anxiety through an ABC method of thought and feeling exploration. I feel as though I understand my own anxiety better and the anxiety of those around me better as well.

I read this book in one sitting. It was a great read with a pleasant amount of realness and humor. i enjoyed Robert Duff broke down aspects of what anxiety does to a person and how that person can work to rise above it. I found myself nodding in agreement a lot; thinking to myself "Yes! that is totally me" and "that sounds simple enough, how have I missed that this whole time?". Finally, the letter to folks who may not understand the struggle, is like a breath of fresh air. Indeed, I got this and I will climb. Thanks.

I recently started listening to the Hardcore Self Help podcast, so I already knew I loved Duff's style but this book was more helpful than I anticipated. I have long been in a sort of denial about my need to tackle my anxiety issues, but I am trying to start fighting my douchey brain! The exercises in this book are simple and unintimidating - a really great way to ease into the anxiety battle. I've even booked my first therapy session! I'm really happy I learned about the Hardcore Self Help world.

Those who are upset that the book didnt heal their anxiety, look at the title. But if you are like me and dont want to be fed psychobabble this is the book to start with. It's well written and has great analogies that pertain to the topics discussed

This is great...As a 35 year experiencing anxiety again after so many years of control I felt pretty weak. This book made me remember how in control I really am. Also, it takes the depression aspect away which is not what I am. It's not gloom and doom life changing advice, it's just like talking to a friend that really knows his sh@$t!

Short, sweet, and to the point. The book is an entertaining read as well as informative. I've never been able to express my feelings of anxiety in lament s terms, however, this book does a great job at explaining it.

Ive read numerous self help books and this one caught my eye. It's a very short and to the point book. I think it's made more for a younger audience and people learning about anxiety. I didn't take away any new information from the book, but it did get some laughs out of me. It was relatable and a fun read for the length, but ultimately, it just didn't do much for me

I just turned 55. My 1st panic attack occurred when I was 18. I have been reading self help books since then. I may go for a year and not read but I always find myself going back and re-reading or finding something new to help me cope with my ups and downs. Love this book! Loved how Robert gets to the point and doesn't pussyfoot around. I laughed and learned at the same time. Thanks Robert for your words of wisdom and for making me feel clear headed again. You've given me more confidence! I highly recommend this book!!

This is a down to earth, easy way to understand anxiety. Didn't really care for the language but that is his way of making it like talking to a person who suffers anxiety. He provides some good helpful tips to calm the beast within.

This book really is a great place to start! It's a quick read and easy to understand. This book has tips and information with some laugh out loud humor sprinkled throughout. It was easy to relate to and it felt a bit like an actual friend was talking to you. I can't wait to share this little treasure with family and friends who also struggle with anxiety.

The beginning few chapters were so incredibly helpful to me. The information on anxiety and the tricks such as the breathing exercises were very useful. The later chapters seemed a bit rushed however. Regardless, this book provided valuable tools for me to deal with stress, I'm sure you will take something away from it too.

I read this book to learn more about anxiety and the effect it has in people suffering from it. My fiance, who is also reading this book, suffers from this. I also wanted some idea of what to do for him. This book gave me some insight of what he's been living with for a very long time. I would recommend this book to anyone who suffers from this...and their !oved ones. Grace

I have suffered from anxiety for the past several years and I have tried to read several self-help books and have been given books from many loved ones. I even purchased several sleep and breathing apps. I also worked with a therapist...and situation was not changing. In fact it was getting worse as each day passed. I was constantly in a state of panic. Purchasing this book was the best thing I could of done to put me on the right path to finding myself again. Duff is one of kind! So thankful for his frank and insightful book that allowed me to actually smile and laugh about what is otherwise not so pleasant issue. I truly believe I would still be where I was a month ago without this book.

Mr. Duff could not have written this any better. He describes anxiety and it's nastiness perfectly and realistically. He breaks it down in a way for someone real to understand rather than sugar coating something. Highly recommended

My friend gave me this book for Christmas and I was immediately thankful that she took the stigma out of mental illness. I have suffered with anixety for pretty much forever, I guess, but haven't really come to turn with it until the past few years. One of the most heartbreaking things about having anxiety is that most people don't understand what I'm going through and act like I'm being dramatic or that I can just brush it off but really, I wish I was dead. The letter included in this book was really helpful and I may use it to express myself when my own words fail. The humor and honestly in this book make it totally-not-boring and ends up being extremely helpful and worthwhile. My only semi-complaint is that Robert refers to anxiety as some kind of terrible evil that you must destroy and hate. Although anxiety sucks and is one of the worst parts of me, it is part of me and if I hate it then I hate myself. All of which I'm trying not to do. Overall, the book is great at describing anxiety and not just stress or nervousness which I find too often when trying to find ways to cope with my anxiety.

Good book. Words are not complicated or too technical. I enjoyed it and took a few days to finish it. The book confirms what my doctor explained me about the fight or flight response but now i had time to read it and understand a little more. Good job to the author.

Excellent book. Robert has managed to take a very upsetting condition, one that affects millions of people, and break it down into terms that are less intimidating. I have a feeling many people will read this book and find comfort in knowing someone understands.

Brief overview of anxiety and some cognitive behavioral tools to use. I thought this book was great in that it normalizes and challenges our thoughts, behaviors and feelings. Definitely worth reading. Side note, the author should write textbooks in this style. I would read them

Good book. For example, the author explained anxiety in layman terms using a caveman analogy. The brain is a fascinating organ and the more you know, the more you realize you don't know... Duff discusses medications and their indications, but doesn't pretend to be a psychiatrist. He has good recommendations and worth a read IMO.

This author is so annoying. As others have stated, same old stuff about anxiety but written in a very annoying way. "I'm so pumped up for you! Your life is going to be amazing!" As if you're going to actually jump out of your seat with joy. Sorry, nothing works like that, unless it's drugs! Which is what this author must be on. All joking aside, this book is garbage.

Another sign of the times we live in as even foul mouthed fools can write a book and if they making it "shocking" enough they'll get a following even if nothing they say is worthy of attracting anyone. I mean even the premise is for fools. Your in trouble with anxiety, and your life is awful, but God FORBID you have to put in so much energy that you must actually lay on the couch and trudge through READING a whole 250 page book!!! I mean that's simply way too much effort to expect from a person in return for peace and prosperity isn't it??
No...let's just do this 75 page F**** book that makes his mothers proud I'm sure and demonstrates his lack of class. But being outrageous is the real goal and making money so those things don't enter the equation.
Sorry, but the Jerry Springer approach to life isn't for me and could never finish the copy at my neighbors house. You know...the neighbor I don't let my kids over to his house because the last thing he is, is a roll model, nor do I loan him anything because I'll never get it back.
You get what you pay for, and thank goodness I paid nothing for this junk.
