I will have to say right away I loved DON'T TEMPT ME. Readers get two very complex story lines in one great book. You will meet Honor Brown, a sweetheart of a girl determined to make it on her own, so much so that she equates accepting help as showing weakness. After losing her mother, she is dropped off at her grandfather's home by her father who then disappears. Her aunts and cousin always made her feel as if she was taking advantage of the old man ... even though that couldn't be further from the truth.

Jason Guthrie, her new next door neighbor, is a helper. He does things for people, it's just the way he is. The last thing he does want is the attraction he feels for her. After all she's prickly, defensive and closed up. But as she slowly loosens around him, he finds that the woman she is hiding is a damn fine one, who makes his heart beat a lot faster. He didn't expect the protectiveness that sweeps over him when he finds she is harassed and endangered. Nothing was going to happen to her if he could help it.

The second part of the story line brings us Lexie Perkins, Honor's best friend, and what most people would see as a party girl. Sullivan Dean might be attracted to her, but the last thing he wants is an involvement with her. He wants to work with and teach his martial arts to students who need an outlet. Little by little the party girl façade falls away as she lets him see the warm, caring woman she really is.

DON'T TEMPT ME is a fantastic read that will give you the proverbial warm fuzzies as you devour the pages. Honor and Lexie are two different types of women bonded together out of need for someone who accepts each as they are. Jason has his hands full with his brother and nephew who have moved in with him after the brother's marriage broke up, but he is unable to not help Honor with her dilapidated house. It takes Honor a while to learn that accepting help is OK, and also to later find her backbone. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and the patience of Jason, who despite his own reluctance, knows she is special. Then add in Sullivan and Lexie's story and their learning curve with each other and wham ... love all around. I enjoyed the “giving” Honor a guard dog (you will have to read it to understand what I mean by that) and the two brothers and son/nephew's interaction with each other as we, the reader, is getting to know them. I enjoyed this little town and the people in it and want to move there. If you want romance, sweet and steamy, men who are men (raised right with manners and well ... hot), and women who are strong in their own rights, then DON'T TEMPT ME will be a read you want in your hands.

“Don’t Tempt Me” by Lori Foster is a welcome diversion from her MMA series making the book charming and running a parallel love story is just too much of a temptation to ignore. And I have to say that the story was more than what I had expected and more. Two friends different as night day, yet soul sisters since their childhood, find family, support and love in the most unexpected of circumstances.

Honor Brown and Lexie Perkins have been the best friends since forever and when Honor moves into her new house, Lexie is right beside her supporting Honor as she deals with pain and a bunch of spiteful relatives. The unexpected appearance of her neighbors and especially Jason Guthrie takes Honor’s life into a spin. Jason is one of the most patient, helpful and kind man that she comes across and for Honor whose life’s been a struggle of abandonment and nastiness, believing in Jason is a huge step towards her fight for a normal life.

As Lexie stands next to Honor, having Sullivan Dean on her side is a bonus and the attraction that flares between them is reason enough for these two to explore for a future of togetherness. As a martial teacher, Sullivan has seen a lot of bullying, pain and betrayal and teaching and guiding the teens to a better life is his goal. Spunky Lexie is definitely not on his agenda.

And when danger seems to threaten their women, no one can stand in their way to protect the women they love. Two couples we’ll fall in love for their amazing chemistry and charisma. Two couples that Lori Foster made sure to characterize with their own individuality and not impose over each other, and two couples with patience, strength, care and understanding bring out the best in each other to give us a romantic read that warms the heart.

Lori Foster did a terrific job of keeping these two stories connected and intertwined as needed, and is double the pleasure. I’ve always loved the way Lori Foster makes sure all bases are covered in her romances, be it supporting characters, closing loops and paying attention to details. And “Don’t Tempt Me” is a definite five start read for me.

Don’t Tempt Me is an amazing start to a new series—something different than the Ultimatum Series—and with two budding romances in one book, how can you go wrong? Besides, once you read this book you will be looking for a way to move into this neighborhood to surround yourself with the sexy alpha males that seem to be a staple.

Honor is a young lady trying to make her own way in the world, and purchasing her own house to fix up in order to be closer to her grandfather is just what is needed. But Honor is still hiding from the hurt in her life, and she has built up some serious walls in order to protect herself from further hurt and disappointment. But Jason Guthrie sees something in her that has him pulling his focus away from work and family—something that has him searching for ways to help her without making her feel as though she is losing face. And with the secrets she is keeping and the danger that seems to be following her, Jason can’t seem to back away, even if Honor is insistent.

And Lexie Perkins, Honor’s best friend and complete opposite… Well, that girl is a spitfire with a heart of gold. So when she sets her sights on Honor’s other sexy neighbor, Sullivan Dean, she is willing to go to the mat to make sure she can win him over. But Sullivan has his own doubts. Sure, Lexie is sexy as hell, but he is done with the party girls. Wanting to change his life and make something of himself, Sullivan doesn’t have time for distraction or someone who could potentially ruin his reputation and the work he does with kids.

With all the doubts, fears, and uncertainty about opening one’s heart to someone else, will these couples be able to find their happily ever after?

I quickly devoured Don’t Tempt Me in one sitting as I immediately found myself drawn to the character development. From the embarrassing first meeting when Honor hits the garbage cans as she pulls into the driveway, altering her new neighbors to her arrival, to the panty-melting conversations and passionate embraces that led to acceptance and love, these characters offered an emotional journey to find love, friends, and family when they were least expecting it.

And stay tuned, as the Guthrie men and their neighbors are just getting started. It seems the town of Clearbrook is just beginning to gain the attraction it is needing.

Lori Foster really knows how to make fans swoon, whether her heroes are mixed martial arts stars, cops, PIs or amazing brothers she never lets us down. And now with the debut of her brand new Guthrie brothers series she does it again and she’s giving readers two HEAs in one read!
Don’t Tempt Me is a fast paced thrill ride that includes drama, suspense and plenty of breath stealing heat between the sheets. Her couple, the secret keeping, wall erecting, wary heroine and open book hero, are complex, realistic and relatable to readers. Her dialogue is sweet and sassy and fits every character to a tee and using urban renewal as her neighborhood setting is brilliant. But its definitely the chemistry between her duo and really all her characters that makes this yet another Foster shelf keeper!

Honor Brown is ready to turn a new page in her life, she just bought her first home. Yes it’s in an area of Clearbrook Ohio that’s in transition thanks to renewal of the neighborhood and she’s never done any kind of rehab work before, but she’s strong and she’s up for the challenge. She’s not one to ask for help, just ask her best friend Lexie, so when her new hunky neighbor showers her with offers of assistance she doesn’t want to take him up on it but it's a lost cause just like denying she’s not tempted to give into her desire for him.
Jason Guthrie was happily living in the home he grew up in, helping out his brother and nephew in their time of need, doing odd building jobs for all his friends and neighbors and doesn't need some beautiful, available, desirable, woman moving in next door and pulling on all his protective and carnal strings. Yeah he doesn’t need her tempting him but he’s got it anyway, so he might as well go for it!

Lexi Perkins is determined to be there for her best friend Honor any way she can but when Honor’s hunky Martial Arts instructor neighbor catches her eye she decides to multi-task.
Sullivan Dean knows how to spot trouble and his new neighbor’s bestie is trouble with a capital T. Yes she’s hot and sexy but she’s also not his type. Is she?

One of my new favorites in the first of what promises to be an amazing series!!! Honor has long ago learned not depend on anyone too much because if you do, they will probably walk away. Honor has bought her first house at a great price since it's a bit of an eyesore and it needs a lot of work, but she fell in love with it and it's closer to the medical facility where her beloved grandpa, the man who raised her, is sick with dementia and she can get to him more easily. Her best friend, Lexie, is hesitant about the house but can't complain about the view, since it seems Honor is surrounded by sexy single men. Jason is intrigued by his new neighbor and the crazy schedule she keeps, it's driving him crazy that he can't figure out where she goes in the middle of the night or why she fights his offers of help so much. When Honor's house gets broken into and strangers are seen skulking around, Jason sets out to prove that Honor can trust and depend on him and the only place he'll ever be is right by her side. This book was fantastic!!! I understood why Honor was so afraid to lean on anyone, even Lexie, and why she was so insistent in doing it on her own. She didn't want to burden anyone or make them feel obligated to her in any way. Jason was everything Honor needed and more, he knew when to push and when to give her some space. I loved that Lexie got her own HEA in this as well but I also hope we get a novella or something so we can get a more in depth look at them. Sullivan is one of the gorgeous neighbors of Honor's and is a martial arts instructor, he teaches all ages but his focus is the at risk kids, kids like what he use to be before an MMA instructor took him under his wing. He wants to help kids the same way he was helped and he can't afford any distractions, especially gorgeous blonde party girls like Lexie. Lexie and Sullivan agree to a one night stand but Lexie decides she wants more, she signs up for a month of martial art classes and shows up on the night when Sullivan is with the older at risk kids. Sullivan is stunned and impressed at how Lexie praises and boosts all the kids self esteem seemingly without trying. He realizes that he has severely misjudged her and that there is more to her then the party girl persona she shows everyone. I can't wait for more of this series!!!! *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

In Don’t Tempt Me, Honor Brown moves into a poor neighborhood in a house that needs a lot of work. But the place is hers, and she’s excited to put in the work to fix it up, even if she isn’t sure how to go about getting the time to actually do it. Throw in a neighborhood prone to break ins and a few hot concerned men living next door and across the street to her, and she has plenty of volunteers to help her out, though only one of them makes her body sing.

Jason Guthrie is a good guy, who does a lot of things for a lot of people. He loves working with his hands, fixing things up, and he’s good at it. But Honor is determined to do things on her own and while Jason wishes like hell she’d let him help, he can’t help but admire her tenacity to do things on her own. She’s nothing like the women he’s known before, and everything about her intrigues him, but the secrets she’s hiding make him leery to get too close and then determined to find them all out.

Though Honor and Jason’s romance is the primary focus of this book, there is a side romance for Honor’s best friend Lexie and one of the other men living in the neighborhood. You’ll have to read it to find out who, but I can safely say I enjoyed their romance a lot, too.

Another thing I enjoyed about this book was all the different kinds of relationships that went on in this book. From brothers to pseudo sisters, the love and support these characters each gave to one another was a true delight to read and once again reminded me why I love Lori Foster’s work so much. She’s the master at creating meaningful relationships not only between men and women, but also between friends, siblings, and families, both the ones you’re born into and the ones you make for yourself. And I love them all!

A wonderful contemporary romance with amazing characters, set in a fantastic community that I so enjoyed getting to know, Don’t Tempt Me is a book filled with family, friendship, angst, passion, a sense of belonging, courage, and love. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and am seriously looking forward to the next book in this series.

As usual, Lori Foster starts a new series with a plot that draws you right into the book with an excellent story, great characters and a quirky environment. You can't ask for more!

Jason Guthrie is a man who is sexy, kind, loyal, and hard-working both in action and family. The best kind of alpha hero! He is helping his brother and nephew get on their feet and still makes himself work to make his town a better place. He doesn't have time for a relationship but he is savvy enough not to get in the way when one appears. He likes what he has, how he lives and doesn't need any trouble getting in his way.

Speaking of trouble ...
Honor Brown, Jason's new neighbor, is a complicated woman whose family life has forced her to be self-reliant and independent to a fault. This is her way of proving to everyone that she is not taking advantage of anyone. Unfortunately, this also makes her difficult to accept help and be more adaptive to what is going on. However, this girl is loving and loyal, fiercely protective of her friend and anyone who gains her loyalty.

These two together are absolutely fantastic. He learns to be more patient, sympathetic and understanding while she learns to be less rigid and accepting of help and caring. Their relationship grows realistically but is smoking hot! Their chemistry is combustible.

The secondary characters of Sullivan and Lexie, Hogan, Violet and Colt are great supportive characters that add to the entire world. Lori Foster weaves their story into the main romance well, not only adding depth but realism to an already great story.

The less focused yet not less important to the book is the love story between Sullivan and Lexie. Sullivan is a martial arts trainer who is focused on his kids and giving the youth an advantage in an already difficult world for them. He doesn't have time for Lexie who he perceives as a party girl. The perfect example of making judgements on a person's character before knowing the full story. It's a pleasure to see him start seeing Lexie beyond the flirtatious woman she hides behind. The real Lexie is the perfect foil to his rigidity. A great story!

Highly recommended book! If you are looking for a sweet contemporary romance with heat, spice and a bit of suspense, this is the book you need to read!

What is better than one of Lori Foster’s romance novels, how about two love stories wrapped up in one awesome package? Don’t Tempt Me is the first book in Lori’s Guthrie Brother’s series. This book was funny, sexy and oh so hot!
The main romance in the book is between Honor and Jason. Honor Brown has just bought a new home so she can be closer to her sick grandfather. Her new home is a fixer upper with a huge amount of repairs needing to be made. Between working and helping care for her grandfather Honor has little time to work on all the projects at home and no time for a man or any type of relationship. She can’t deny the attraction between her sexy new neighbor, Jason Guthrie, and herself and finds that the walls she has built around her heart might be just as weak as the ones in her new home. The more these two spend together the more her walls crumble and Honor will have to decide if she is willing to let Jason into her heart.
The second story in the book is about Honor’s best friend, Lexie Perkins, and Sullivan Dean, a martial arts teacher and one of Honor’s new neighbors. Lexie is the complete opposite of Honor. Where Honor is shy and quite, Lexie is flirty and the perfect image of what a party girl would be. While Sullivan is attracted to the beautiful Lexie he is determined to stay away. He just wants to help out the kids who need them in his life as a positive role model at his martial arts studio. However, the more these two get to know each other Sullivan sees there is so much more hiding under Lexie’s tough girl exterior.
This book was just perfect. I have always been a huge fan of Lori Foster’s and am so excited to be getting a new series from her. I would highly recommend this book to others.
I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

Ahhhh, Lori Foster...yet again I am left jonesing for book 2 in a series barely after finishing book 1.

Don't Tempt Me is a 5 star read. Ms. Foster creates engaging characters and an interesting original story drawing the reader in from the first page. Highlighting two couples, Foster intertwines the stories in true opposites attract fashion.

Honor Brown is beautiful, inside and out, but is also stretched very thin.  She also isn't used to accepting help so when she bumps into her new neighbor the very last thing she expects is for him to offer a helping hand.  Jason isn't looking for love but when his captivating new neighbor shows up, he all but jumps at the chance to help her out. Even if it risks his bachelor ways.

Sullivan Dean is a badass...in more ways than one. Once a troubled teen he has turned his world around and now teaches martial arts focusing on troubled youth.  He doesn't have time for a relationship much less one with a party girl. With her bubbly charming and somewhat sarcastic personality Lexie Perkins is a force to be reckoned with.  Ever loyal to her best friend Honor, Lexie comes along for the ride and is up to her neck in a pool full of hot men...but the one she wants might not want her the same way.

Add in a cast of entertaining supporting characters, a little bit of suspense, a few of those "awwwww" moments and you get a solid enjoyable book that you won't want to put down. Seriously just dive in!  I was up until 2 am finishing because i needed to know what was going to happen. And then what does one do when they can't move on to book number 2 right away? Turn around and read it again!! An automatic reread is an mandatory 5 stars in my book.  If I can't get enough on the first run it's a true winner.

I absolutely loved this first book in Lori Foster’s new Guthrie Brothers series. Lori’s contemporary romances are my favorite, although I also love her romantic suspense too. If you can’t tell, I’m just a Lori Foster fan in general.

This first book starts off with Honor and Lexie, her BFF, driving towards Honor’s new home that she just purchased which, unfortunately, isn’t in the best neighborhood or the best condition. While pulling up with her moving van Honor and Lexie meet Honor’s new neighbors that immediately make the scenery a lot more pleasant. Jason, Hogan, Jason’s brother and Colt, Hogan’s teenage son, were people she would soon find out she could count on. The issue Honor had was that she was one tough cookie and did not want to accept help from anyone. She wanted to take on this new venture in her life on her own. Slowly but surely her neighbors convince her that it’s okay to accept help when it’s freely given. Soon Honor and Jason develop a romantic relationship that throws Honor off her independent game and it’s the best thing that can happen for her.

I really liked Honor’s “go get ‘em” attitude. I love her independence. So often main female characters in books are written as helpless and so needy for a man that it’s hard for me to get through the whole book. Honor is a strong character as is Lexie. Jason, Hogan and Colt are also strong characters. In fact, all the men in this book are chivalrous and gentlemanly, which I also enjoy about Lori Foster’s books. There is also a secondary love story happening in this book which I think is new for Lori and I totally dig it!

I really enjoyed this book and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

It started off as an innocent mission to help out his beautiful new neighbor Honor Brown fix up her house, but the more time Jason Guthrie spends with her the more he wants to get know more of her, problem is she isn't interested in any of that. She has her impenetrable walls up, and she is deflecting all the passes he makes, and leaving him confused, and driving him to prove to her that she can put her faith and trust in him. He normally doesn't do relationships, feelings, or sticking around for more than one night... but something about this girl has abandoning his normal, and wanting something he's never wanted before...forever!

Sullivan Dean learned the hard way that women like Lexie Perkins bring nothing but trouble to your life, so he does all he can to avoid getting involved with them, but for some reason the more he resists the stronger the pull gets between them. There is something about the beautiful blonde that he can't deny and she has him abandoning everything he learned long ago to be true, the more he gets to know her, the more he realizes he may have pegged her wrong, maybe she is more than just a reckless party girl after all...

I absolutely loved this book, from start to finish, Ms. Foster has created some truly endearing characters here that I fell for as soon as I opened the book! They drew me right into their world, and captivated my undivided attention right up until the very end, and have me looking forward to a return visit! Anytime you have the opportunity to settle down with a book from this author I HIGHLY encourage you to embrace it with open arms, she has a knack for creating these intriguing characters that you can't help but want to follow into their world and get completely swept up in their lives, and before long you find yourself being forever changed by what you find!

If you are looking for a read that is certain to stir your emotions, warm your heart, and leave you with a smile then look no further Don't Tempt Me is the perfect read for you!!

A great story with 2 HEA’s in one! There’s nothing I like better than reading Lori Foster books, and that’s when she combines two stories into one! There are two couples in play in this book: Honor & Jason and Sullivan & Lexie. Lori built a lot of character and back story into Honor. She is struggling with her independence and has a history of people letting her down, which causes her to be hesitant to rely on anyone, except for one family member and Lexie. Honor, in an attempt to move closer to friends, buys a fixer upper house. The house comes with a bonus: hot manly neighbors who love to help!! I laughed extremely hard when she asked Jason to put on a shirt. His character is also well-written and pulls you in. He is so patient with Honor, even when he doesn’t understand her reticence to rely on him (even though that is what he does for a living). Their story as they take what are seeming baby steps towards each other will suck you in and leave you wanting more!

I also loved the bonus secondary plot line with Sullivan & Lexie. Sullivan meets Lexie when he carries a plant into Honor’s house for Lexie. He is extremely busy, trying to make his martial arts school a success, and help neighborhood kids. He even tries to resist Lexie, but it is not happening. I loved how Lexie was in your face and the exact opposite to Sullivan. You find out more about the truth behind that front as you read the story.

I hope to see more of these characters and this town in future stories! Highly recommended for any contemporary romance fans!

I have been in love with Lori Fosters books for a long time, so I was extra excited to read Don't Tempt Me! This book reminded me so much of the first books I read from Lori Foster that got me hooked on her writing, if you are a fan of fun and sweet romance, this book is a must read!

When Honor purchases a rundown house in a small neighborhood that is in need of repair, she is pretty sure she can do most of the work herself. That is until she meets her handsome new neighbor, who insists on helping her out. Jason, who lives with his brother and nephew, falls hard for Honor, but she has some personal issues that complicate things. After loosing someone close to her, Jason is right by her side, but can she learn to let go and accpet his help and love?

Also in this book, we get to meet a whole bunch of amazing characters, including Lexie, Honors best friend. Lexie has always been there when Honor has needed her. When she meets one of the new neighbors, Sullivan, sparks fly but he is reluctant to start something serious because she is a bit of a party girl. But, can she convince him she is more than just some party girl looking for a fun time?

As the story moves along, I really fell in love with all the characters and I can't wait to read the next great book by this amazing author!

Lori Fosters book never disappoint, whether she is writing about big tough fighters, or sweet contemporary romance. This was one of the best books I have read recently, it is definitely a summer must read!

I received a free ARC of this book for my honest review, all opinions are my own.

WOW! Another fabulous story from Lori Foster, and Don't Tempt Me is like a twofer...you kinda get 2 love stories all wrapped and gifted to you in this book. First there is Honor and Jason's story and then intertwined with it you have Honor's BFF, Lexie and her man Sullivan!

Honor is shy and not very trusting of people, she has spent the past few years looking after the Grandfather who raised her, dealing with crazy family issues, and working hard to make a life for herself. She is finally at the point in her life where she can buy a home. The neighborhood where her home is located is a work in progress and just so happens to be full of hot guys, especially the Guthrie Boys...Jason, his brother Hogan and Hogan's son, Colt.

Jason & Honor's relationship start off with a literal bang...she ran over his trash barrel with her moving truck. From there we witness the slow progression of her learning to trust in others (and especially Jason) and Jason's unending patience while working his way into honor's life and heart.

Don't Tempt Me is a little slower paced than Lori's Ultimate series and Men Who Walk The Edge series, but slower paced~meaning tamer, sweeter, and although there is a tiny bit of what you might call suspense, it's not what you would expect as a fan of Lori's books. Please don't take what I said the wrong way, I absolutely enjoyed this book!! It was just a really great story, with wonderful characters and a gently paced plot. A perfect beach read!

Lori Foster is one of my go-tos for a good contemporary romance. She knows what she's doing. What strikes me every time I pick up her new book - with Don't Tempt Me being no exception - is how real her characters feel. I can very much imagine that these are real people. They're not perfect, they're just perfectly done. I loved her MMA books, but her romances that feature the cute-guy-next-door make me all giddy. I think that's because she makes me believe in real life happily ever afters.

You really get your moneys worth with Don't Tempt Me, because you're actually getting two stories in one book. Jason and Honor might be the main focus, but Sullivan and Lexie's story holds its own. I felt like this book wasn't long enough. I wanted, or maybe needed more from both of these couples. And thank goodness there's a note at the end of the book about a sequel in the future. The critical reviewer in me wants to talk about how over the top the ending was. I won't spoil anything, but there's a lot of mushy moments. But the romance reader in me just can't get over how right it felt. And even if cheesy endings aren't your thing, the story leading up to it is worth it. There's a real sense of family in this book - whether blood related or the family you make along the way. And that's where Lori really shines. These characters become real, and the sense of community sticks with you.

What’s more tempting than a sexy, hunky handyman that lives next door? How about a whole neighborhood of single, sexy hunks! With Lori Foster’s latest stand alone novel, Don’t Tempt Me, my first question is, WHERE IS THIS NEIGHBORHOOD AND HOW CAN I MOVE THERE??

When Honor Brown moves into her new (to her) fixer upper, she is more than a bit overwhelmed by all of the work to be done and by all of the sexy men who live nearby. But it is her next door neighbor, Jason Guthrie who is her biggest temptation. Jason recognizes Honor as trouble for him right off the back. But that does not stop him from watching, wondering, and finding ways to be helpful that just might help him break through her walls (pun intended). Meanwhile, Honor’s friend, Lexie Perkins doesn’t seem to have any walls to speak of and she has her laser like focus on Sullivan Dean, one of Honor’s sexy neighbors. Sullivan, who spends his time as a martial arts teacher for troubled kids, knows how distracting temptation can be and tries hard to resist it.

I loved this book for so many reasons including getting two romances for the price of one! With both romances going on, I truly couldn’t put this one down. Honor and Jason’s story was sweet and emotional and showed the lingering effects that childhood abandonment have on all personal relationships - family, friends and lovers. Lexie and Sullivan’s story was sassy and sexy and showed why you can’t always judge a book by its cover. Plus their story was just plain hot!! The overall theme was that people are wonderfully complex, which means that their love stories will also be complex and probably have lots of twists and turns. Lori Foster also revived a theme from the Ultimate series and included a MMA gym that trains at risk kids. Nice!!

Overall, Don’t Tempt Me was a powerful commentary on relationships and a beautiful love story (times two!). And how I wish I lived on that street with all those hunks (though my husband would probably have to lock me in the house, lol!)

Definitely don’t miss this treat!

I have been a fan of Lori Foster's books for years. I all her books but I have to say this one struck me as different than what I was used to reading from her. And still, it was completely fabulous! I enjoyed how she included 2 couples in the story yet it was so smoothly transitioned between the two it didn't feel like you were reading two different stories.

Honor was well written as a sweet and emotionally guarded young woman who did not want to depend on the love or support of anyone, especially not Jason, her new neighbor. Jason is a fantastic character that I just absolutely loved from the beginning. His dedication to family, especially his brother and nephew is heartwarming, yet the fact that I found him to be low key and laid back was refreshing from a take charge male character.

Lexie is Honor's best friend and I liked how she was protective but also her insecurities showed through, despite the fun carefree attitude she portrayed. Sullivan was serious and somewhat protective of himself throughout the story. I enjoyed the dynamic between this couple and how Ms. Foster made their relationship evolve step by step.

I would have to say if you are a Lori Foster fan, you must absolutely read this book! If you are new to Ms. Foster, you will love this book without a doubt, so no matter who you are, get it today! You definitely want to be ready when the next book in the series is released!

Foster is a go to author for me. Her novels are ones that I pick up when I want something tantalizing that I can curl up and loose myself in. This novel definitely fits that bill. It’s cute with a small town charm and a whole lot of emotion. It was emotional draining at times, and absolutely fantastic throughout. The story was exciting and fulfilling, allowing me to escape from reality and into the pages. I won’t go into too much detail here, but I will say that this is a must read novel.

Foster’s descriptions bring the characters to life in every possible way. I felt for Honor without pitying her. What she’d been through in her life was more than anyone should ever have to handle on their own. The way that she thinks that she can’t show emotion in order for people to like her broke my heart. Jason was so understanding throughout it all, his strength and compassion allowing Honor to gradually accept him. I loved how naturally these two fit together. On the other hand, Sullivan & Lexie’s whirlwind romance was equally captivating.

This was definitely a great start to a series that I’m dying to read more of. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone, anywhere, who enjoys some heartfelt romance.

Today is the release day for this wonderful love story penned by an exceptional author. Don't Tempt Me is the first of a new series and when you are finished you will be counting the months until the next release.

Jason Guthrie is the perfect man every woman is searching for: handsome, capable, caring, talented, heart of gold, and most importantly, knows how to treat the woman he loves. Honor Brown buys a "fixer upper" next door to Jason and her life completely changes. She's had a hard life but she had a very loving grandfather to raise her and she doesn't have time for a man. Not even a handsome, wonderful man who lives right next door.

When she finally trusts Jason and lets herself grow and love, her happiness abounds. She and Jason have a chemistry that can't be denied and a forever love grows right along with it.

In this series opening story, you meet several other characters that will hopefully return in upcoming books. Lori definitely has a creative ability to "take you there" and draw you in to the story so you wish the book would not end.

I received a ARC in exchange for an honest review. If you haven't read Lori Foster's work, pick up one of her books and be drawn in. :) You won't be sorry and you will be searching for more of her books to read!

Lori Foster’s duology, “Don’t Tempt Me”, is a refreshing departure from her recent series that show the seedier sides of life by showcasing her versatility as a writer by embracing a lighter, contemporary feel.

The main romance is between new neighbors Honor Brown and Jason Guthrie. Jason is the type of guy who wants to step in and help. Honor is the kind of woman who wants to do things on her own, prove to people she doesn’t need to lean on them. When issues with her family regarding her ill grandfather come to a head, Honor finally starts to let Jason in.

There’s a secondary romance, hence the term ‘duology’, between Honor’s BF Lexie Perkins and Jason’s friend and neighbor Sullivan Dean. While there aren’t many scenes between these two, we are given insight into who they are and how they come to be together.

We are also introduced to another neighbor Nathan and Jason’s brother Hogan and nephew Colt. There are hints of a possible relationship for the brother Hogan and restaurant owner Violet. This reader hopes there will be a story featuring both Nathan and Hogan in the future.

As always, Ms. Foster pens a fantastic story featuring alpha males and independent heroines, and like those other stories, this book will land on your keeper shelf.

Don't Temot Me? Are you kidding?? You can't help it with this book!
Just when you think you have a book or series favorite from Lori Foster, she writes another one and I'm tempted to say this one came close to knocking my favorite original Buckhorn series from my top spot.
You have Honor Brown, a strong willed woman determined to be self sufficient, and Jason Guthrie, a true friend and relative who can't seem but to help everyone. Sound like a good story so far? You bet, and I didn't even mention the sweet romance and other terrific characters!
In true Lori fashion you meet friends Sullivan, Lexie, Nathan, Charish, and family Hogan & Colt. I don't count her relatives, except her grandpa, as family and once you read it you'll see that there are even people you dispose in this book.
I never like to add spoilers so you can enjoy the read as much as I did and believe me you will!
I simply cannot wait for the rest of this series and everyone's stories to unfold. There were two downsides for me. One, that the book ended (haha) and names. I don't know why but it's hard for me to read stories with weird or "different" names. I know there are people named Hope, Charity, Melody, Cherry, Vanity etc. in the universe, it's just for me I find it sometimes hard to get into the story when I read them. I've even found myself not reading a book, sometimes probably a loss, because I just can't take the name. It's a quirk I know, but even when Lori Foster does it I'll read the book because I know it'll be good. I just have to deal with names sometimes.
I don't know how you cannot be tempted by Don't Tempt Me. It has it all spicy romance, unwavering loyalty & friendship, and some people to really dislike. Do yourself a favor and give in to the temptation like I did and get to know a whole new group of friends you can't wait see get their happily ever after!
I'm so glad I was lucky enough to get an arc copy if this book in exchange for an honest review.

First of the Guthrie Brothers series, here we meet Jason Guthrie, a contractor and guy who is intent on helping revitalize his neighborhood. When his older brother needs a place to stay after the death of his cheating wife, Jason takes in Hogan and his son, Colt. Then, the broken-down house next door is purchased and the new owner turns out to be Honor Brown, who's intent on bringing it back to its previous beauty while she quietly cares for her grandfather, who is near death. Her hours at the salon where she works during the day and her numerous nighttime departures and even later returns puzzle Jason, who can't imagine why Honor keeps such strange hours.

He only begins to find out after Honor's house is broken into, for reasons no one is clear. Further complicating the situation is Honor's best friend and soul sister, Lexie, with whom MMA expert Sullivan Dean has taken a shine to. He, too, is a neighbor. His importance becomes clearer after Honor's grandfather dies and she's accosted by her great-aunt and other relatives who do not appreciate her closeness to her grandfather and his decision to leave a large portion of his estate to Honor rather than to them.

As the first of the series, this story could stand alone, but also serves as an introduction to other characters whose lives deserve to be fleshed out further.

I don't think I've ever met a Lori Foster book I didn't love and DON'T TEMPT ME is no exception! With lovable characters, a fast paced storyline, plenty of plot twists and turns, romantic moments, sexual tension and witty dialog I was captivated from the very first page.

I wasn't at all sure that I'd like Jason since he was a bit off-putting in the beginning and doesn't appear to enthusiastic about his new neighbor - and Honor just seems like the innocent new girl next door looking to fit into the community so I felt a little sad for her since he seems to attempt to warn her off. I was easily able to relate to Honor's stubborn nature and her discomfort with asking for help and loved how her friend Lexie's outgoing personality seems to help ease that issue for her.

There are a lot of great characters in DON'T TEMPT ME that I'd love to learn more about so I'm really hoping this new series (GUTHRIE BROTHERS) goes on for a long time. The next story is WORTH THE WAIT which is due out in August 2017.

This book left me with such a warm fuzzy feeling! The Guthrie brother's are one of a kind… friendly caring, honest, funny, protective. They've got it all. Jason was very accepting of Honor right from the start. At times she felt a little naive to me, but at the same time she had her life focused elsewhere for so long. Which. for me explained it. Honor had a lot of personal stuff to work through.

The fact that Jason knows and accepts that he loves Honor early on in the story and is waiting and hoping for her to feel it back for him, is a nice change from reading the reverse. Usually I find this scenario happens most with the woman waiting and hoping.

And OMG! All that flirty tension was killing me!!!! Loved it! Lori Foster always writes fantastic chemistry! The secondary story with Lexie and Sullivan was a great added bonus! Hogan cracked me up often, but I have to say though..Colt.. He's my favourite character. I really hope he gets himself a good story! Can't wait for the next book.

I am always super excited when a new book by Lori Foster comes out. You all know by now that she is among my top go to authors when I need a good romance with great characters and enough chemistry to steam up the pages. Don't Tempt Me hit the spot! In this one, we get treated to two romances. My only problem was figuring out which couple was my favotire!

We have Honor, who moves into the house next Jason's. He is instantly taken in by Honor's beauty, but even more than that he wants to get to her heart. I loved watching these two fall for each other. Given her real family situation, Honor had a lot of problems with trusting people. The way Jason and his family made her their own was wonderful. I also liked Lexie and Sullivan. While their romance was a little less central for me, it was still fun to watch.

With most books by Lori, you can also count on getting a little bit of a mystery., Someone keeps trying to break into Honor's new house, The solution as not what I expected!

I loved this story! I loved the characters especially. Honor Brown is a amazing women through and through, she's tough as nails, puts family first always and takes the load of the world on her shoulders and never asks for help and never wants people to pity her but when she moves into her new to her house all her emotions boil over and into Jason's world. Jason is one sexy as heck neighbor with a heart of gold, patience (most times) of a saint and loves to help others but Honor doesn't want his help...well...she does but refuses to allow herself to lean on anybody...WOW!!!! their chemistry is off the charts sexy! Loved these two from the beginning and their HEA. Lori can sure write amazing stories that get you turning the pages. Now Sullivan man is he hot too but he's a tough nut to crack along with Honor's best friend Lexie. These two are stubborn and wild for each other and their courtship is sweet and sexy too. Love this book. Colt is a character that I hope to see again someday, he reminds me a lot of Casey Buckhorn in his love for others and always helping. Great story! 5 stars

A pleasant romance with nice people, taking place in a small town. Honor has just moved to a shabby house in a neighborhood beginning gentrification. Her neighbor is Jason Guthrie, who is conveniently very good with his hands (no pun intended) and the two share an immediate mutual attraction. Their relationship grows, with a few bumps in the road due to Honor's unfortunate history with her family relationships. These relationships provide the drama and give the couple some emotional baggage to overcome. There are a few secondary romances going on, involving close friends and relatives of theirs. All are rather sweet, if sexually explicit and the overall feel of the story is warm and fuzzy. A nice book to cuddle up with on a rainy day.

5 Stars from Renee!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, suspense, grief, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Honor and Jason’s story. Honor just moved to a new house next to Jason. Jason made it seem that she might not make it fixing up her house. She will make it no matter what. What happens when Jason wants to help out? Can he convince her he was wrong and that she is much stronger then she looks? Can he get her to open up to him and tell him all her secrets? Can he help her through her pain when she needs him to?

This also has part of Lexie and Sullivan’s story. Lexie is Honor’s best friend. She is attracted to Sullivan and he promises her one night. But what if they both want more? Can she get Sullivan to open himself up to more or is she wasting her time pursuing him?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This is a great start to a new series and seeing how a community can turn a neighborhood around. This is Jason hometown and he brought his childhood home to fix up. He's helping his brother and nephew get on with their lives after going through hard times. Honor is moving into her first home and is going to do this all by herself because that's the only way she knows. She hasn't had the best life when it comes to family other than her granddad. She doesn't feel worthy of having friends ever though her childhood girlfriend Lexie has always been there for her. Jason has his sights on her even though he can't get involved because his life is so mixed up right now but he wants to help Honor because it's the neighborly thing to do. She can't do everything by herself and has to learn that people care. It was a great heart warming story with great chemistry between the two main characters as well as the secondary. I'm looking forward to the next book to see what in store for this once dilapidated town. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Beautiful/independent Honor Brown has purchased her first home, ok, it’s a real fixer upper, but it’s all hers. So when she and her best-friend, Lexi, make a real entrance by running into a trashcan with a moving van- they find themselves the object of her neighbor’s attention. Witnessing her embarrassment is the very sexy handman/neighbor (Jason), his brooding brother (Hogan) and his adorable nephew (Colt). But accepting help does not come easy for Honor, so she sets out trying to do the rehab on the house and her life on her own.

I have read other Lori Foster books that I liked better than “Don’t tempt me”. I think the problem for me was that Foster was trying to do too much, perhaps setting the stage or the basis for her new series, that will undoubtedly revolve around the Guthrie brothers. #1: There was the introduction of a ton of characters. There’s Honor, Lexie, Colt, Hogan, Jacob, a sexy Sheriff (Nathan), a martial arts teacher (Sullivan Dean) and the sultry red-head (Violet). In other words, too many partial back stories told, but not enough to really get invested in any of the characters. #2: While the main character, Honor, should have been endearing, she came off as irritating. I mean in the beginning she was cloaked in mystery, only to end up NOT being so mysterious and instead a little silly and insecure. And when her eventual secrets were revealed they fell a little flat to me. And Jacob was ok, the typical rescuer. #3: For this to be a romance novel, the sex scenes were mediocre and sparse. Again maybe that was because of the efforts of Foster to build a series. #4: Too many plots. There was some romance, some random burglaries, some heartbreak, and some mud volleyball and one over-arching storyline (Honor’s), but all of them were lackluster.

In conclusion, this review was perhaps one of the hardest for me to write because I really should have liked this book. But it fell a little flat and while I can name a few of the reasons, others elude me. So while I usually enjoy Lori Foster books, if this had been my first, it probably would be my last.

Wow! What a sweet and emotional story. Honor endeared herself to me and to her hero, Jason, by being so brave and self reliant because she didn't want to burden anyone with her problems thinking she wasn't lovable enough for anyone to truly care about her. What a misconception on her part and reading how Jason was constantly supporting her in any way she needed was so awesome and totally sigh worthy. Another bonus about this story is the secondary love story involving Honor's best friend, Lexie, and Honor's neighbor, Sullivan. Two HEA's in one book? What more could you ask for? This story had it all, some laughs, some cute and tear-jerking moments, definitely some hot scenes as well, but mostly it was a sigh worthy and very satisfying read. And there's supposed to be another book in this duology. I'm hoping Jason's brother, Hogan will have his story told and fingers crossed that there'll be another secondary love story for Nathan, another hot neighbor. I can't wait to read more!

Don’t Tempt Me was such a fun read and it told from multiple points of view. Don’t Tempt Me follows the story of 2 couples, Jason & Honor and Sullivan & Lexie. Honor is new in town and has a strong desire to stay independent. It’s hard for to accept and take help from others; especially without giving them anything in return. Honor is not at all prepared for her new neighbors. Not only is Jason the full package, but he’s good with his hands and isn’t afraid to lend a helping hand….When Jason meets his new neighbor Honor, he just knows that she’s going to be trouble. But, even knowing that, he can’t make himself stay away. Honor has secrets, and he desperately wants to break down her walls and show her some happiness…Sullivan is also one of Honor’s neighbors. From the moment Lexie sets eyes on him, she is determined to make him hers. However, Lexie isn’t like the girls Sullivan is used to and he’s not sure he can keep up with a woman like Lexie. Only time will tell if these two couples will get the HEA, they so desperately want and deserve.

Overall, I really enjoyed Don’t Tempt Me. I loved the story-line. I liked how well it flowed and how well the multiple points of view worked. Sometimes, when I get more than two points of view, I get distracted or lose interest. However that was not the case with this book. I was pulled in from the very beginning and found myself devouring this book in just half of a day. I fell in love with the characters almost immediately and was dying to know what Honor’s secret was. Lexie was an amazing best friend. She was like a sister to Honor and definitely someone you could count on. I loved seeing Lexie with Sullivan because I think they both challenged one another and made them want to try something different. And of course I can’t forget about Jason. Jason is the whole package. Sexy. Smart. Alpha. Protective. Just an overall good guy. He knows what he wants and isn’t afraid of going after it. He was a good match for Honor because he opened up her eyes and made her see the things that she was missing. He showed her that she could still be independent, but also have someone in her corner.

Don’t Tempt Me is a quick and easy read. This book had a great mix of steam and romance. There was some angst, but not too much. There were a couple of good twists thrown in, as well as frustrating moments. That made me love all the friendships and swoon-worthy moments that much more. And I just loved the finding love in the most unexpected place, vibe that I got from it. I think that the Guthrie Brothers Series is off to a really great start and I’m looking forward to seeing where this series will go next.

Honor Brown takes particular pleasure in making her new home all her own. She doesn't shy away from the hard work and what she doesn't know, she tries to learn. Honor is a likable heroine, if a bit closed off. She only has one close friend so when she moves into her new house, she is a little shy around her new neighbors. It seems as though Honor is the lone female on the street of ruggedly handsome bachelors. But it's Jason Guthrie who catches Honor's attention.

Jason lives next to Honor and is quick to offer to help her move in. Along with Jason is his brother Hogan and Hogan's son Colt. The three of them swiftly welcome Honor to the neighborhood. All three Guthrie males are not only easy on the eyes but genuine nice guys. I liked how Jason was protective of Honor but understands her need to improve her house by herself. Jason is a custom builder and can fix just about anything so he proves to be the perfect teacher for Honor.

There is a secondary romance of Honor's best friends Lexie and Sullivan Dean, one of those handsome bachelors. Lexie is a whirlwind who speaks her mind without apologizing. She is Honor's opposite but they are as close as sister. It turns out there is more to Lexie than meets the eye. Seeing Sullivan find out that she's more than just a party girl was a pleasure to watch. I liked how their romance unfolded and hope we see them again in the next book.

Honor and Jason try to spend time together but Honor has secrets and she's not ready to share. When Honor's secrets are revealed they bring her and Jason closer and his protectiveness is in full force. If I had any problems with the story it was the slow pacing of Honor and Jason's romance. There were points when it felt like the plot was lagging.

The sense of not only family but community is strong throughout the story. Between Honor's love for her grandfather and Lexie and Jason's support of his brother and nephew, family is shown to be the strength that gets us through the rough patches.

Don't Tempt Me is a tender romance with some lighter moments as well as a couple of somber ones. I look forward to reading Hogan's story and see how he and his son find their own happiness.

I was so thrilled to be able to read a ARC copy of Don't Tempt Me. Lately I've found myself becoming behind on reading Foster and I'm not sure why. I've always enjoyed her books so I'm hoping it's because I just have way to many books to read.

Truer words were never spoken.

I'm going to gush a little bit here but I can't help myself. I really enjoyed Don't Tempt Me. It reminded me of the books that Foster used to write in the beginning of her career. Just a clear, straight forward romance.

You will love all the characters! Now remember, this is really two stories in one. You'll get Jason and Honor's story along with their friends Sullivan and Lexie. I will break this review down and talk about both couples stories and then the story as a whole.

Jason Guthrie & Honor Brown

I really love Jason and wish I could find a mister fix-it like him. I don't know about you but I find a man really sexy when he's able to build things for you. I always need more book shelves and with Pintrest I don't want any old plain ones either.

Add in the fact that he's taken in his brother and nephew...do I need to say more? Sexy all the way. He also is so sweet to Honor who has a host of issues to deal with. You'll also enjoy both his brother and nephew. His brother's story is in the next book so not to worry. You'll know what his future is.

Now Honor needs a kick in the butt. Not because of the fact she's not a good person, no...it's that very reason she needs the kick in the butt. She to good!!!!

Sullivan Dean & Lexie Perkins

I liked Sullivan but wish I got to know him a little more. He seems like a real caring guy who doesn't want others to know that. He works hard and also plays hard too. That is until he meet the one person who could put a stop to that.

Lexie is one of the best people. I'd love her for a friend. She'll ride any wave with you and then some. I loved how she was with Honor. She stood toe to toe with anyone who'd say a harsh word to honor. The only issue I had with her was that she didn't really think she need or deserved love in her life.

She was so wrong.

The whole story!

Like I mentioned above, this is a really good story. You'll want to know what's going on between the two couples but at the same time want more about the men in this neighborhood, like a certain sheriff. I also mentioned that there is another book coming out with these characters called, Worth the Wait our July 25th 2017!

It really better be worth the wait. Ha!

If you are looking for something easy to read, with engaging characters then Don't Tempt Me is the book for you!

So I have a confession to make, this is the first book that I have read from Lori Foster. I know, I know...how come it took me so long to finally read a book from this author? Well the answer must be that I must have been living under a rock or something. LOL. Well, as of right now all you Lori Foster fans out there just gained another reader to the club after I practically devoured Don’t Tempt Me.

Don’t Tempt Me was the perfect blend of temptation, love, friendship, family, and second chances. Ms. Foster did an amazing job as she sprinkled lots of raw emotions while still maintaining a sweet and yet sexy romance brewing between two neighbors.

When Honor Brown moved into her new house that was in desperate need of major remodeling, she never expected her arrival would bring forth a sexy neighbor and a cast of neighbors that will soon become like family. Immediately Honor was thrown into a whirlwind when her handsome and caring neighbor, Jason Guthrie makes it known to her that he is interested. Soon what started out as being friendly leads into something more meaningful and deep. Will Honor be able to let Jason into her life and break down all the walls that she has built up? And once those walls are knocked down, will Jason be able to show Honor that she was already shining bright and doesn’t need to hide from her past and insecurities?

As I stated before, this book was a perfect blend of steam, sexiness, passion, friendship, love, and new beginnings. Not only did Lori Foster highlight the romance of Jason and Honor but she also brought forth romance brewing Honor’s best friend, Lexie and Honor’s other neighbor, Sullivan Dean. And oh yeah there might be another romance brewing between Jason’s brother, Hogan and a certain restaurant owner. So as you can see, romance, friendship, and family are in the air. With raw emotions and heart, Ms. Foster has beautifully weaved a love story that will tempt any reader to get lost in this amazing and uplifting story. So if you are ready to get tempted, then look no further than this book.

Basically, if Lori Foster writes it, I’ll read it. She’s actually one of a very few contemporary romance authors that I follow. I honestly prefer her ‘edgier’ books, but I like her sweet romances too. Even though there’s an element of danger in Don’t Tempt Me, I think this one falls into the ‘sweeter’ category.

The description lets readers know that two romances are the focus of Don’t Tempt Me, but this is pretty much Jason and Honor’s story. Since Sullivan isn’t a ‘Guthrie’, that’s probably why they shared the story. Lexie’s Honor’s best friend though, so having them find their HEA together was kind of appropriate.

As a series opener, Don’t Tempt Me did a great job of introducing the characters and helping readers get to know all the brothers pretty well. I liked and pretty much admired them all and can’t wait to get to know them even better. ?

I received Don't Tempt Me in exchange for a fair and honest review.

What an incredibly sweet read! Don’t Tempt Me is an excellent read that celebrates family, friends, and love.

I find it very interesting that two couples’ stories unfold throughout Don’t Tempt Me. I don’t think I’ve read too many stories in the same vein. Admittedly, the main focus is on Jason and Honor, but we definitely get more than a glance at the evolving romance between Lexie and Sullivan. I may have even liked to see a little bit more of Lexie and Sullivan–one more scene that was theirs and theirs alone. Nonetheless, what we did see of them was satisfying.

Now…Jason, Hogan, and Colt are seriously bae. They are an impressive family unit, and I admire them so–especially Colt and his endearing personality. That boy has manners. SWOON. The Guthrie men are not only handsome, but incredibly kind. They never hesitate to help a stranger or a friend, and I just can’t get over how genuine they are as characters. The men are definitely my favorite part of this book.

Honor is just as kind–maybe even more so. But she is also incredibly stubborn and while I can see where that stubborn independence stemmed from, I couldn’t always fully understand her reluctance to accept help. Thankfully, Jason helped her realize that accepting help is not a weakness. The two really are a great couple, and I look forward to seeing more of them in the next book, which I have a feeling will be even better than Don’t Tempt Me. How could it not? We already had a front row seat to the sexual tension between Hogan and Violet, and it was spectacular. I want more! I hope Nathan meets a lady in the next book, too. (;

Don’t Tempt Me is the perfect read for those looking to get away from the dark reality of today’s world. It’s a super light, easy read that will leave you remarkably giddy and hopeful.

Lori Foster never disappoints me and Don’t Tempt me was really cute and I definitely enjoyed it! I fell hook, line, and sinker for the whole cast of characters.

Honor has had some rough breaks in her life, no doubt about it. It was easy to see why that would shape her to be independent. For the most part, I liked her, she was smart, hardworking, and sweet. She has a great capacity for love and patience. When she showed her backbone, I wanted to high-five her! However, I felt like she took things a little too far throughout the book. Her constant worry over people seeing her as weak, just because they offered to help with something as simple as righting a spilled trashcan drove me nuts. She has justified abandonment issues, true, but I would have expected that with the way her grandfather raised her, it would have lessened her phobias, not exacerbated them. It just got a little tiresome toward the end of the book.

Jason was kind of a butt head in the beginning, but he got over it fast. He fell for Honor almost as quickly. I loved his steadfastness and determination in wooing her. It brought to light how amazing he was as a person. Strong, fiercely loyal, loving, funny, and just . . . adorable. I was so happy to see him knocking down Honor’s walls and forcing her to let him love and care for her. It didn’t hurt that he was practically always shirtless and worked with his hands…

Lexi and Sullivan are a bit of a side story, we don’t spend a lot of time on their relationship, but it’s enough for it to be fun deviation from Honor and Jason at times. I loved Lexi, she was hilarious and so much the opposite of Lexi. They were adorable and I would have loved to have read a whole book about them.

I definitely recommend Don’t Tempt Me, and I can’t wait for Hogan’s story! This one isn’t on the re-read shelf, but it’s was absolutely worth the read!

4.5 stars. Taking place in a small neighborhood. Two hottie brothers, Hogan and Jason Guthrie, along with Hogan's teen son Colt, Sullivan the hottie across the street, and Nathan another neighbor who is the Sherriff. Along comes Honor Brown and her best friend Lexi. Honor bought the dilapidated house next to the Guthries, and the fun begins.

Loved how Jason was resistant to his new neighbor, but couldn't resist the challenge. He was so patient with Honor. I felt the instant connection between Honor and Jason. Jason is a Jack of all trades (reminds me of Gabe from the Buckhorn's) and has the hots for Honor the new neighbor who has a hard time accepting help. Honor also a mystery Jason wants to solve. Where does she go in the middle of the night? Why can't she accept help when offered?

Honor sweet, a little shy and has trust issues, which comes from a loss as well as a carpy relatives. I liked Honor, although there was a time or two I wanted to tell her that love doesn't always hurt. Good thing she has her friend Lexi, that is the secondary story, which meshes perfectly.

Jason has his older brother Hogan and his son Colt living with him while Hogan gets his priorities in order after a devastating time in his life. Then there is Lexi, Honor's in your face friend, and Honor's other neighbor Sullivan, more sparks.

I loved the plot. I'm always in awe of how Ms Foster writes her stories so seamlessly, every page flows beautifully. I love how she writes about Hot, sexy, caring, protective Alpha men! The secondary story of Sullivan/Lexi was a great addition. I just plain loved it!

This is Lori's new series and lucky for us we get to see two stories in one. Honor is Jason's new neighbor in the town of Clearbrook. She is very independent and her new house needs a lot of help. Jason is a handyman of sorts and currently shares his house with his brother Hogan and nephew Colt. You can feel the chemistry since the moment they meet. He is very protective of her and tries to help as much as she allows him to. With problems in her mist and not such a nice family, will Honor allow Jason to really help. Will she trust him?

Sullivan owns a martial arts studio and Lexie is Honor's best friend. She comes across like a flirt and she doesn't have a care in the world but that couldn't be farther from the truth. He is afraid that she will expect too much from him and resent the times he dedicates to the studio and kids he trains. Will they be able to communicate with each other?

This is the first in a new series by Ms. Foster. And an excellent start it was. I laughed and cried. Honor was left my her mother. Then her father left her with her grandfather and neither ever came back. Her grandfather is dying and she buys a fixer upper house to be close to the facility he is in. She is a strong, independent, and caring person. Jason, his brother and nephew, Colt and Hogan live next door to her. Jason is drawn to her beauty and quiet strength. But she doesn't like to depend on anyone, so he has his work cut out for him and he's not about to give up on her.
I absolutely loved this book. Shows how a community can pull together to help each other. And just because you have a crappy blood family doesn't mean friends can't be a better family. But love can sneak up on you when you least expect it. A very emotional story.

Great book about a woman, Honor who was abandoned by both her parents at a young age and raised by her grandfather. She grew into a loving and caring woman who took great care of her grandpa while he was sick. When she buys a house that’s closer to his care facility she learns she’s surrounded by hot male neighbors, especially Jason who lives next door with his brother Hogan and his nephew Colt. When things start happening to her home all the men especially Jason to come to her rescue. This is foreign to Honor who learned early on in life to rely on herself and no one else. She never asks for help from anyone yet here these people are helping her out, she’s not sure how to handle that! Can she get past her fears open her heart and let Jason in?
Beautifully written story about a woman finding herself and letting people in! 5 shiny stars for this book pick up your copy today!

Honor Brown buys a broken down old house, right next door to Jason Guthrie, whose house and yard are perfect. Honor has a hard time accepting help, and since the moment Jason set eyes on her, all he wants to do is help. Honor’s strange comings and goings, and strange things happening at her house too, Jason, his brother Hogan and nephew Colt (currently, but temporarily, living with Jason) are determined to help.
Sullivan Dean, Jason’s across the street neighbor steps in to help as well, and well – there is Honor’s best friend Lexie Perkins … and she’s trying to get Jason’s attention … on Honor. Sullivan is amused but he doesn’t want anything to do with Lexie … or does he?
I love Lori Foster’s stories, she has so many different plot lines, various series and standalones. Each and every one is full of fun, sometimes intrigue but always love and are great reads! Thank you Lori Foster…

I really enjoyed this more gentle side of Lori Foster's writing with Don't Tempt Me. It takes a step away from her Alpha type males, and instead gives us a more "normal" type romance with the focus being on the relationship with a great cast of characters you'll want to read more of. That's kind of been a trademark for Foster, making secondary characters you can't help but want stories for, so I'm glad she is going to continue on with this as a new series.

It was emotional, and I couldn't help but admire Honor for her inner strength, although it does seem to be her weakness as well. Jason, along with his brother, Hogan, and nephew, Colt, overwhelm her with kindness in a way she has never known before, so I found it to be really sweet how she begrudgingly accepts their help in the most awkward ways. The relationship between Honor and Jason is slow to boil, but the intense attraction is there right from the start. It was well-paced and I loved that it wasn't rushed. Now Lexie's relationship with Sullivan goes at warp speed, so you kind of get the best of both worlds in this book. Overall, Don't Tempt Me just had a feel-good feeling to it. It was written well and I loved the sense of true friendship, family, and trust that was woven throughout it. It's a must-read for all you Foster fans out there!

Amazing. Beautiful. Sweet. So many wonderful emotions delivered while reading. This has to be one of Lori Foster's most beautiful books. Every character is special and lovable. You find yourself rooting for them equally. I found that there was no main character for me... I loved them all. I personally love books that have side stories intertwined. This one had that in spades promising beautiful stories to follow. Another favorite aspect of books I read, the possibility of seeing these characters in the future.

All of Lori's books are honest and real while also being too good to be true with out being cheesy. This book is no different. If you love her books you love this one while also feeling how special and different this one is. Can't wait for the future books in the series. Already preordered this for my mom as I do all her books. :)

I was kindly allowed to read this book early in exchange for a review.

This is my first book by Lori Foster. When I first started reading, life was busy, so I was reading a chapter here and there. Sometimes there were large spaces between reading. There are a lot of characters in it and because I wasn't reading it regularly, I found it very confusing. I couldn't keep everyone straight. I don't think that would be as much of a problem if I had been reading it over a short time period. It actually took me over three weeks to read it because of my lack of free time. I was able to carve out some time to finish it this past week. It's a light, fluffy romance. I found it to be fairly predictable. There's a lot going on in it which probably led to some of my confusion. In addition to the main romance, there was a secondary romance going on, too. The conflicts were milder than a lot of romance plots, which was kind of refreshing. In that respect, it was more realistic. Sometimes there's so much drama, a story is more like a soap opera than real life. Most importantly, it was entertaining. I liked the characters and am interested in reading the next book with these characters.

In this delightful, joy-filled story you get to know the neighborhood hotties and the best friends Honor and Lexie. I enjoyed both of the couples, all the characters were presented in depth and were the kind of people you would love to spend time with.
I wish Lexie and Sullivan could have gotten a little bit more screen time. A lot of their relationship was developed outside the pages, and I would have loved to hear more of Sullivan's change of heart.
Honor is such a complex person. Her life got a rotten start, but how she has overcome it all, and built her her own destiny, was nothing but admirable.
Jason is dreamy, he is patience, caring, protective, helpful, gives Honor space and independence she graves, yet is supportive and accommodating when that is needed.
I loved these two together, the sweetness, tenderness, sexiness, all just pouring out of the pages, the humor, fun, and the tragedy and drama that is Honor's family, they were able to face it all together as a team.
This is a captivating and charming story, I could feel the lightness and rightness of life as Honor and Jason are together. The loss and drama balance the tale nicely, giving it more juicy bits, as well as the danger that is lurking in the neighborhood. The friends and neighbors stole my heart, this is definitely a series I want to keep an eye on

Lori Foster has started another great series. This is the first book in this new series and it was fabulous. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. I loved all the characters that you meet in this book and am looking forward to more stories from this neighborhood.
I do not want to give any spoilers. This is a story about Honor and Jason but you also get to meet the other friends and neighbors. They are both strong characters who come together and support each other through lots of ups and downs. In this story you will see how friendships grow and how they learn that they can lean on friends for support. All of the characters are strong and brave. This story has it all. It will make you laugh, cry and read faster to see what is happening.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Don't Tempt Me By Lori Foster is a sweet contemporary romance between Honor Brown, a young woman left on her grandfather's door as a child, and Jason Guthrie.
Bonus romance; Honor's friend Lexie and Jason's friend Sullivan find what they needed in each other.
Honor is caring for her well to do grandfather (who has dementia in a nursing home) against other greedy family member's wishes, working and trying to restore the home she bought cheaply...mainly because it was closer to said nursing home.
Full of embarrassing situations, break ins, familial love and spite ...it also details the developing love between both couples and the way the neighbors come together in support.
The romance and sex scenes are red HAWT.
I received an advance copy for my honest opinion.

Honor Brown hasn't had an easy life. Abandoned by her parents, she was raised by a loving grandfather who she in turn loved deeply. Nevertheless, the issues and circumstances regarding her past have left her rather closed off and determined to be independent and not be a bother or burden on anyone else. That said, her deep love for her grandfather is the reason she finds herself moving in next door to the oh so hot Jason Guthrie, in a house that to most would be better off torn down than lived in. Honor loves the house, and it's location allows her to be close to the center where her grandfather is housed at.

Jason Guthrie is taken with Honor from the moment he lays eyes on her, and the more time he spends with her, the more he is determined to get past the walls she's erected to keep herself safe. Their romance is sweet, sexy, sometimes serious, and sometimes funny, especially with all the great secondary characters that are part of the story as well, and I did love them all. Don't Tempt Me is not your typical girl next door love story by any stretch, and Foster provides a really great story for her readers, while setting the stage with the awesome secondary characters for future installments that I can't wait to get my hands on. Definitely check this one out.

Honor Brown bought a run down house that is in need of renovations so that she can be close to her ailing grandfather. Jason Guthrie, her sexy next door neighbor, is more than willing to lend a hand to get her house renovated, but Honor refuses to accept any help. Because of her past, Honor is determined to prove that she can accomplish this project on her own. Jason is frustrated that Honor is so stubborn and is curious about her late night outings. He doesn't know the reasoning behind her behavior and her best friend, Lexie, isn't sharing any of her secrets. Jason is a truly great guy that is caring and patient as he tries to break down Honor's walls.

Sullivan and Lexie's story was my favorite. Lexie Perkins is funny and charming and knows how to fit in with anyone. Sullivan Dean likes her charm, but isn't willing to have more than a fling with her. He is committed to his job and doesn't want to date a party girl. When Lexie signs up to take one of his martial arts classes, Sullivan sees a different side to Lexie and starts to reconsider. I would have loved a full novel on Sullivan and Lexie. I look forward to reading the next Guthrie Brothers novel.

Lori Foster knows how to create that magic. The sense of forgetting where you are and being transferred to another place is something that I always feel when I pick up one of her stories. I received an ARC of Don't Tempt Me by Lori Foster in exchange for an honest review. This sensual novel gives a peek at two sides of the spectrum. We have Jason who has reliability written all over him. The way he looks after his family and community are a bonus in his favor but the way he looked after Honor who was wary and insecure of herself gave me heart palpitations. He was a keeper. Fast forward to Sullivan. He was somewhat of a tougher nut to crack but his hard edge did not hide his true self from the people that mattered most. Inside the pages of Don't Tempt Me there is love, hope and charm wrapped up in sensual package.

Don't Tempt Me is the first book in Lori Foster's new Guthrie Brothers series. I thought this was a sweet, easy read. I enjoyed these characters. This book focuses more on Jason and Honor's relationship then Sullivan and Lexie's.

Honor moves into a "fixer-upper" in a up-and-coming neighborhood. She is used to doing things on her own. So when her (hot) new neighbor (Jason), his brother, and his nephew offer to help, she is shocked and a little reluctant to accept their help. Honor is determined to improve her home and make it her own. And that (stubborn) determination is something that Jason definitely takes notice to. Eventually Jason is able to earn Honor's trust and she beings to let him in.

There is a side romance between Honor's best friend, Lexie, and her (other) new neighbor Sullivan. I thought their romance was sweet, but I felt their's was a little rushed. I kinda wish they had their own separate story.
The thing I loved the most about this book was the overall sense of community and friendship that was at the heart of Don't Tempt Me.

I love Lori Foster. She writes in a way that always makes the reader feel as if they are inside the pages of the book.
Don't Tempt me brings Lori back to her roots. This book seemed more like her earlier works such as The Buckhorn series.
This book is also almost a story inside a story. There are secondary characters and this author brings their lives into the spotlight. But as Lori always does, there's room for growth in these characters lives. Future books perhaps?
I really really want to move to Honor's new neighborhood. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Somehow Honor hit the jackpot when she bought a fixer-upper home in a new neighborhood. Seems as if there are sexy, hunky men around every corner. (Sign me up!)
For Lori Foster; Jason Guthrie is a very simple man. He works hard, plays hard and loves fiercely. His only flaw...Wanting to help a woman who's determined to make it on her own.
Together Jason and Honor make magic.
This new series is heart touching and full of so many feels your heart will ache.
Don't Tempt Me is full of warm fuzzy feelings and steamy heat.

A sweet romance filled with loving family, friends and spicy romance!

Honor Brown is pretty much a self-sufficient loner other than her best friend Lexie Perkins. She works hard for what she has and is looking forward to remodeling the house she just bought. And the eye candy next door just might make it even more exciting!

Jason Guthrie is intrigued with his new neighbor, but his life is more than hectic right since he’s taken in his widowed brother and teenage nephew and is busy doing odd jobs for everyone around town. He tries to steer clear of her, but she’s hard to resist … and it doesn’t help that her friend is working hard to push them together!

Lexie just wants Honor to relax and enjoy life a little bit, and she can’t help but notice the eyes she’s been making at her sexy hot neighbor. If showing up and making sure they need his help for something will get him to come around, she’s all for it! … and when Sullivan Dean, another neighbor from across the street, shows up offering help too, she’s happy to take him off Honor’s hands!

Lori Foster has been one of my go to authors for a while. When I pick up one of her books I know I’ll have a great book in my hands. Don’t Tempt Me was one of those great books. It left me with the warm and fuzzy feelings. It had romance, intrigue and love.

Lori weaved two storylines together with two sets of main characters that never took away from the story. It made it that much better. There was this great group of people who you just wish you were apart of. They were fun and protective. They were the ones you wanted to have your back but also to be there when you needed a shoulder.

This was a great beginning to a new series with some amazing characters. I couldn’t get enough and can’t wait to read more.

When I read this book I expected a wonderful read as I love books from Lori Foster. What I got was so much more. When I finished the book I felt as if I went on a journey. One that led me through not only the lives of the main characters, Honor Brown and Jason Guthrie, but of the people who were closest to them as well. I was treated to a wonderful romance that encompassed Honor and Jason's relationship, as well as the one that went on between Honor's best friend, Lexi, and Honor's new neighbor, Sullivan.

This book really touched my heart as well with some of the family drama that Honor dealt with. It hit close to home and I admit there was a time as I read that I easily went through half a box of tissues. But Lori Foster did not let me cry for long. No, her wonderful writing skills not only broke me down but built me back up again and I found myself with a permanent smile on my face until the end. My only disappointment was when it ended but even that was short lived because there was a great installment to her newest series at the end. If you love romance, this is one you don't want to miss and if you love Lori Foster you will definitely want to add this one to your collection.

Well she did it again, Lori Foster wrote another novel with more swoon worthy characters then should be legal. In “Don’t Tempt Me” Foster veers away from her usual type of male, you know the Cannon’s and Armie’s of the world (if you haven’t read her Ultimate series you really need to). This story has a more traditional hero in Jason Guthrie, a neighborhood good guy who instantly falls for his new neighbor Honor Brown.

Neither Jason nor Honor come without baggage. There’s a new, but dilapidated house that needs care, family to deal with, a neighborhood that is just coming into its own and grief that has to be handled with care.

We also get to meet a lot of secondary characters that all hold an important part of Jason and Honors stories – from Honors best friend Lexie, Jason’s brother Hogan and nephew Colt (who have not had an easy time lately) to their neighbors Sullivan and Nathaniel.

Overall, a great uplifting story of a girl who truly has a heart of gold who has always given and never asked for anything in return who finds a “family” where she least expects it.

Jason, Honor, Colt Hogan, Lexie and Sullivan these characters felt so real, they jumped out of the pages and captured my heart. Problems they faced at first alone and little by little Honor found in Jason what she needed, and he found the love that completed his life. His brother and son faced other issues equally as heart breaking, Lexie and Sullivan too had their issues to work through.
Every page was either making me laugh or cry, then cheer and yell at someone , and I did not care who I was yelling at.
Thank you Lori for some wonderful characters and a beautiful story, look forward to the next one.

I do so love Lori Foster! In her new duology, the first book Don't Tempt Me tells the stories of Jason and Honor, as well as Sullivan and Lexie, who live in a small town in Ohio. You can read the blurb to get the rundown, but the basic themes in this heartfelt book are Honor wanting to go it alone, Jason wanting to lend a hand to his neighbor, and Sullivan and Lexie not giving each other enough credit. The heat level was perfect, the heart level was spot on, and with Ms. Foster's brilliant storytelling, you get a wonderful contemporary romance that you cannot put down. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the duet to get more of the neighborhood hotties' stories.

I so loved this one. I enjoyed the main characters and the secondary characters. All I can say I want to move to that neighborhood with all that eye candy. My heart goes out to Honor she just doesn't know how to accept help and not know if they have ulterior motives or not. Lucky for her she moves next door to some hunky guys (with one who rarely wears a shirt) that there are good people out there. I enjoyed watching the relationships she makes with all of them. She has her friend Lexie, but not much else. Seeing her blossom through out this book was beautiful. Jason is just yummy and his protectiveness of Honor is just makes him great book boyfriend material. I also thought the story of Lexie and Sullivan was just as great. Sullivan is in for a surprise with Lexie because he's not going to know what hit him. This book sucked me in with it's delightful characters and kept me hooked with it's story line.

The start of another great series for Lori Foster. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

We meet Honor as she moves into a new neighborhood. The house needs a lot of work, work that she is determined to do on her own. Her new neighbor wants to help thinking she can't but she wants to prove him wrong.

Jason is intrigued by the new neighbor. He decides to keep an eye on her as she looks like the world is against her.

As family issues, burglary, and new friendships evolve, they find that they can help each other. Alpha males in their prime, a hero that doesn't like shirts, and a dog that wants to protect leads to a great story.

I enjoyed reading Honor's journey to happiness. She had a rough childhood and is dealing with some serious family issues. Her best friend, Lexie, is there to help Honor move into her first house. When they pull up to the house. Honor and Lexie are distracted by the hot neighbors.
Jason can't keep his eyes off his new neighbor. She keeps odd hours and he's hoping there isn't another man in the picture.
The strength of Honor is inspiring. I loved all the characters in this book. I really liked the secondary romance between Lexie and Sullivan. Lexie is very funny and loud while Sullivan is very serious.
Don't Tempt Me can be read as a standalone. Looks like there will be another book. Hopefully Hogan gets his own happy ending.
Written in multiple POVs. The writing is great and the flow was seamless.

Don`t Tempt Me by Lori Foster is one you don`t want to miss. I couldn`t decide who I loved the best for each one was hotter than ever. Jason is the man of all trades in the little neighborhood Honor moved in. Right away you can tell there is chemistry between them they can`t deny anymore. The one thing I didn`t like was that Honor kept being standoffish whenever Jason tried to help her. I loved that no matter how much she pushed him away Jason kept coming back to her. Now Lexie and Sullivan so wanted more of them. The sex between was hot like Jason and Honors. There was a lot more I wanted to know about Sullivan and hopefully Lori Foster will do one of him and Lexie. All in all this one was a tale of two men loving their women by tempting them with passion, sex and a love they never expected.

My heart was all over the place with Honor and Jason story but more specifically Honor and her guarded heart and bad hand. It was just too much at times but Jason was content, trustworthy, committed, and just there. I don't know if he could have been anymore of the solid support in which he showed. Lexie as well because she stood by her "sister" as well as gave her the strength to just take a chance on her life. Stand up for what was right and support and defend the righteous not the gargoyles.

This was a dual lvoe story and a demonstration of family and neighbors being one. How people do because they genuinely care and not for the benefit of themselves. Lori did a wonderful job showcasing the depth of problems and how manipulation can give you strength but sometimes talking and getting to know someone rightfully can go a long way.

Don't Tempt Me was a sweet read. I loved watching these two couples who are opposites fall in love. This story made me laugh, cry and totally go gaga (if that is even a word) for the HEA. I love this new series and it was definately not a disappointment. I was surprised that there were two HEA's, even though Honor and Jason have the most in this book I just loved Honor's best friend Lexie and Honor's neighbor Sullivan. Great chemistry and lots of laughs. I can't wait for the next one. It was a great book to take to the pool with me with a glass of lemonade and read. It may sound cliche but it's the truth

This book was really good! The storyline was well written and it came out very sweet and mostly light hearted. There was some drama and heartfelt moments. The hero and heroine were a good fit. The heroine was reserved and was determined and also really likable and the hero was sexy and sweet. There was a secondary story to this which was great to read intertwined with it. the secondary characters were great and I hope to see more of them. There were some parts of it where the heroine was a little too pushy about her independence but everything came out ok so it wasn't something that ruined the story. The ending came out really well and I enjoyed this book overall. If you want a good summer read them this would be good for you.

great fun story. loved the banter between everyone. Guthrie's are a great loving down to earth family. honor tries to be fiercly independent but we all need a shoulder to lean on. Jason is so sweet and caring m would love to see what he can really do with his hands. Lexi is a crack up. she is the best friend we would all love to have at our backs. Sullivan is quiet and mysterious. wish we could have known a little more about him and his hot cold attitude and why his lady love puts up with it. finally I loved the name of Nathan's band. we have a bar here in town called Drunken Monkey so it cracked me up.

The author slowly unveils the depth of Jason's character through his actions toward those he cares about. I fell in love with Jason the moment he realized that Honor was in need of just as much care, as the home she purchased. I was very impressed with how the author successfully wrangled Jason's overwhelming need to 'handle' everything...while pulling her into the family.

The secondary couple of Sullivan and Lexie were less developed than I prefer. I wanted more scenes with them. You get only a few brief glimpses of them, and even less of them as a couple. I am a greedy reader; I want it all.

I've been a Lori Foster fan for a very long time. One of the things I love the most about her books is the way her stories are developed as well as the characters. You can't help but fall in love with the H/h and their story because they're written so well.

Once again in DTM I was drawn in from the first page. I loved all four main characters in this book, Honor, Jason, Lexi and Sullivan. The pace of each of their love stories is perfectly timed to go with the characters themselves. I think this is an innate talent of Ms. Foster and as a reader I love it. There's nothing rushed that shouldn't be in any of her stories.

This book has it all from sexy and sweet to the alpha male that I thoroughly enjoy reading!

I LOVE this book. As with all Lori's books they are fast paced. I find it hard to put down her books. This book was no exception! Honor is moving into a fixer upper..The only family she has is her ailing grandfather. Her best Friend Lexie is like a sister to her..This book shows that family is what you make it. It doesn't have to be your natural family! Family is good friends that feel more than that...You will cheer for Honor, you will cry with her. You will giggle and laugh. You will see Honor's fighting spirit all through this book! you just MUST read it!!

This story has everything you want in a Romance. Honor is a strong independent woman who feels she doesn't deserve love and needs to do everything for herself. Jason is more than just the guy next door, he strong, handsome, helping, hero type that you can fall in love with. And even better there are more than just one good looking man in this story. There is many different story that can come from this book. And I hope The Author writes one for each of these men. They will make you fan yourself.

The conversations Honor and Jason have seem pretty non-productive at times, personally I don't think either cares:
Knowing she stared at his body, he stretched. “You’re hard.”
So observant. Resisting a smile, he shrugged. “Yup. Happens in the morning, especially when I wake up next to a very sexy woman.”
Jason is a hands on type of man, “I like seeing you happy.” Slowly adjusting his hips to hers, he turned her thoughts carnal. “It makes me hot.” I liked this book, I thought Jason was a good fit for Honor

Lori Foster hits this book out of the park! Jason isn't just an ordinary hero--he goes above & beyond, as a certified "good guy," you just have to love him. And Sullivan is everything a heroine should be--tough, smart, with just the right amount of sass and vulnerability to balance her out. All in all, another FABULOUS read from Lori Foster. No matter the subject matter, she's always a guaranteed Good Read!

Quick Summary
Honor Brown has a lot on her plate and moving into a new house will take what's left of her limited time. She definitely doesn't have time for her very attractive neighbor no matter how much he wants to help. Jason Guthrie can't stop thinking about Honor and he can't help wondering about where she goes at all hours of the night. Lexie just wants to help her best friend add a little fun to her life -- and there's nothing Lexie knows more than having fun. Sullivan doesn't need another party girl in his life but there's something about Lexie that keeps catching his attention. This neighborhood will never be the same.

What I Liked
It's been a long time since I've read a Lori Foster book, and I forgot how light and fluffy they can be. Now sometimes I'm in the mood for that so it's not necessarily a bad thing but at the same time I guess I've gotten used to a little more substance in my character's relationship. Nevertheless this one wasn't too bad of a read although I wish there had only been one couple to focus on. I did really like Jason and how much he supported Honor and understood that even though she was pushing him away at first it didn't mean she wasn't interested, she just had a lot going on. Lexie was also a really great friend so that was nice to see the bond between the two women. And Colt was definitely a sweet and enjoyable young man. Foster also gave us plenty to wonder about with both Hogan and Nathan as future heroes in the next book.

What Needs Work
Although I love Colt's character he is nothing like a 17 year old boy, at least not the teenagers I've met. He bonded really fast with Honor and this just seemed a little a little too easy, but not a big deal especially because he was so sweet. My main problem with the book was that I felt cheated out of Sullivan and Lexie's relationship. We hardly see any of it as Honor and Jason are really the main couple. At first Sullivan was so resistant to the image of a party girl that Lexie gave off. As the reader we see so little their time together I just found it hard to believe they were in love so quickly.

Let me start off by saying I am a (newer) LF fan and truly enjoy her storytelling capabilities. Don’t Tempt Me started off with promising characters and storyline. Determined, stubborn independence hold the heroine back from making connections. Her goals are complicated by a simmering attraction to a very handsome neighbor that is everything she doesn’t know she needs. She flip-flopped a bit too much for my liking but this isn’t my reason for the 4-Star rating. The real problem I had was for a couple of plot issues that didn’t jive. At all.
SPOILER ALERT: I work in a very large nursing home with multiple concentrations of care, including a dedicated dementia unit. “Tieing down” a resident, sometimes “until he bruises” are blatant forms of Elder Abuse, Neglect and Mistreatment. In simple terms, the facility responsible for this type of treatment could be sued by the family, fined by the State, and the staff responsible would be at risk for losing their license. And that’s just for starters. The fact that the resident’s attorney was fully aware of his client’s wishes yet the trouble-maker family members were still permitted to bully the heroine is just plain bull. And if they intimidated or bullied the dementia resident? The attorney, heroine, nurses, other visitors, the housekeepers, ANYONE could have had them escorted out of the facility by the police. With all of Grandad’s money and an attorney acting on his behalf, these circumstances are bizarre and not believable by any stretch. I think LF missed the mark on researching these topics.

I have to confess that I am not a big fan of contemporary romance. This type of romance doesn’t offer the danger and suspense of the other genres, like romantic suspense, or urban fantasy, which I like. However, tempted by the idea of a double romance and the hint of danger in the book’s description, I succumbed and read Lori Foster’s book, Don’t Tempt Me. Though the the main character, Honor, came across as too stubborn and annoying, overall, the book will satisfy readers who are in the mood for a feel-good story about the importance of family and caring neighbors.

Don’t Tempt Me is Foster’s first book in the Guthrie Brothers series. This book focuses on Jason Guthrie and his new neighbor Honor Brown and her friend Lexi Perkins. Guthrie lives with his brother and nephew in a revitalized Ohio neighborhood. The book is written from four points of view: Honor Brown, Jason Guthrie, Lexi Perkins, and Sullivan Dean.

The book begins with Honor driving a rented moving truck to her new home. Honor has purchased a rundown home in the town of Clearbrook, Ohio. She bought the home because it is located close to her grandfather’s facility and it is affordable. The Ashwood Chamber of Commerce has worked to drive off crime elements and clean up the streets and offered special financing to owners agreeing to improve the property in a timely manner.

As Honor drives the truck into the driveway hitting a garbage can in the process, she and Lexi see three sexy men, who Lexi calls “man candy” working in the garage next door. When all three men come over, Honor and Lexi meet her hot shirtless next-door neighbor, Jason Guthrie, his brother, Hogan, and Hogan’s son, Colt. Immediately, Jason’s hotness and intense scrutiny unnerve Honor.

Colt suggests the men help Honor unload her stuff and help her move in, which further throws Honor off balance. Because of her family background, Honor is obstinately independent and feels uncomfortable accepting anyone’s help, especially a stranger like Jason. Jason, in turn is attracted to Honor but has no time for entanglements, especially with a woman he thinks foolishly bought a home in need of major repair in a dangerous neighborhood and who has no idea what she has gotten herself into. He suggests to Honor that she bit off more than she can chew and, of course, she bristles at his sexist insult, which makes her more determined to refuse his help.

Overtime, Jason realizes he misjudged Honor and Honor learns to accept his help and love. A tentative romance blossoms, however, Honor is keeping secrets. Why won’t she talk about her family and where does she go late at night?

The second romance in the story involves Honor’s best friend, Lexi. Lexis is the opposite of awkward and inexperienced Honor. She’s confident, flirty and likes to play the field and when she finds out Honor has all these hot neighbors, she thinks she has won the Lottery. When she meets Sullivan, Honor’s across the street neighbor, who owns a martial arts study for kids at risk, Lexi thinks she may want more than a one-night stand. However, Lexi doesn’t realize Sullivan categorizes her as a shallow party girl, and doesn’t want to go out with her again.

Pros
Foster wrote a heart-warming, feel-good story about a young woman who finds love, family, friends and caring neighbors, when she moves to a new town. The pace was slow but steadily built until the end, when all secrets are revealed and Honor finally shows some backbone with her family.

In the beginning, Honor was a difficult character for me to like. She was the typical “damsel-in-distress” that needs rescuing and allows others to walk all over her. Even though, Foster explained Honor’s desire for independence, I still felt at times her refusal to accept help annoying and immature. If you know you can do something yourself that’s one thing. However, if you don’t know how or don’t have the tools to do something yourself, why not accept the help that is offered?

However, I really liked Jason’s character though. Foster created a man with all the qualities you would want in your dream hero—alpha, yet also supportive and caring. And really good with tools! (Wink, wink.) He was the perfect neighbor and romantic interest for Honor because he wanted to help her but didn’t push her past her comfort zone.

Cons
Lexi and Sullivan’s romance fell flat for me. I don’t think Foster took enough time to develop these two characters, so it was difficult for me to understand their decisions. I knew nothing about Lexi’s background other than she was Honor’s friend. In my opinion, Foster should have just focused on Jason and Honor and given Lexi and Sullivan their own story.

My only other negative comment is that I thought Foster threw in too many plot threads. There are the two romances, Honor’s problems with her family, her home being ransacked and robbed and Hogan’s and Colt’s personal issues. The home burglary seemed like just a device for Foster to introduce Sullivan and Nathan, Honor’s other neighbor, who happens to be Clearbrooks’ sheriff.

Conclusion
Foster has a knack for creating interesting characters and throwing them together to create a sexual charged read. If you’re in the mood for a feel-good romance with a hint of danger, then this is a good book for you.

This story starts with sexual tension, the thing I love most about romance novels. It's intense and it's mutual. Unfortunately, the main characters give in to it rather quickly, and this just becomes the story of how horribly Honor's family treats her while Jason watches her develop a backbone.

I think the addition of the secondary romance between Sullivan and Lexie is a much more interesting story and had potential for a better novel, but there just isn't enough of them in the book.

This book has taken me forever to read (and I'm still not quite finished) because it's so predictable that I'm finding myself doing more skimming than reading. And that's too bad, because when Lori Foster is on, her books are wonderful. But I just don't think this is one of her best.

A sign of a great read is when I look for the next in the series to keep the relationship with the characters going. The high was followed by the low, learning that it will be a few months before publication. I like getting to know the characters in situations that I can relate to. Lori Foster doesn't let you down, developing the characters and relationships. A nice twist, to experience two relationships in one publication. Looking forward to Hogan and Nathan's stories.

Don't Tempt Me is a sweet story set in a neighborhood being rejuvenated. Honor Brown moves in and forms an instant attraction with her neighbor, Jason.
As the story moves forward, we not only see Honor's home be fixed up, we also see a young woman blossom under the gentle care of friends and neighbors.
With a fun supporting cast, Don't Tempt Me, a typically good Lori Foster read. There are no real surprises. This is a well written, enjoyable book for Foster fans and new comers alike.

Another Harlequin Romance. Easy reading though this one has a few wrinkles. The author miss-names one of her chief characters at one point and there are a few spelling errors. It also hies to the standard clichés of sexy, ripped, handsome men and smaller, stunningly beautiful women. As always there are roadblocks on the way to coital bliss however it is these complications that make the book worth the read. It ends with at least a double wedding in the offing.

I've been avoiding doing this review because while Lori Foster isn't my favorite author, she's generally a decent read.

"Don't Tempt Me" was not a decent for me. It has a regressive quality to the lead characters that put me off and kept putting me off. Honor is a stylist who is moving to a neighborhood that is slow to be revitalized so her home needs a remodel. Jason Guthrie is her new neighbor and a guy who can help her in the remodel. He's also is helping her widowed brother get back on his feet and a somewhat but apparently hot-and-looks-old-for-his-age nephew named Colt.

I don't know if I liked Honor but I definitely didn't like he-man Jason. Less said about that, the better.

The book doesn't do much better with the second couple, Lexie (friend of Honor) and Sullivan (guy who says he's done with women like Lexie but...). I sorta liked Lexie but Sullivan can go the way of Jason. Which is to say, the less said about that, the better.

And that's my take on this book: The less said, the better.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Don't Tempt Me is my first Lori Foster book. I've wanted to try one before, but I just never got around to it. I'm so happy that I finally tried one of her books. I had no idea what I had been missing.

Don't Tempt Me was a great contemporary romance read. I enjoyed Lori Foster's writing. In this book, she had two love stories going at once. Honor and Jason's was the main focus, but there was enough of Lexie and Sullivan's story to make it feel like a complete story. I did have one minor issue with the writing, though. Don't Tempt Me was told in third person with points of view for Honor, Jason, Lexie and Sullivan. The narration would switch mid-chapter without warning beside **** and I would be thrown off because it would always take me a few sentences to figure out who was narrating now. It would have been helpful to have name headings to make the switch easier and more fluid. Other than that little issue, I loved the story.

Honor was a very strong person, but she was kind of a mess. I loved the support she found in Jason. He knew how to help Honor in ways she could accept. Whether it was helping with her house or being a shoulder to lean on, Jason was there for her. She also gave Jason something he never thought he'd find when she gave him her love. It was all so sweet.

Lexie and Sullivan's relationship was also sweet. Lexie was a party girl always on the look out for a good time. Sullivan was down to party, but spending time with Lexi made him crave more. More was something neither of them wanted, but being with each other quickly changed that.

Some of my favorite characters weren't even part of the love story. Colt and Hogan were amazing. They were Jason's family, but they went above and beyond to become Honor's too. I loved them so much and I can't wait to read more about them as the series continues.

Overall, I adored Don't Tempt Me. I liked it so much that I went ahead and requested the second book in the series from my library. I can't wait to get my hands on it and experience more of the Guthrie brothers!

This is a very touching romance with Honor finding people could love her besides her grandfather and Jason was the one that mattered the most to her. From the moment he saw her on the day that she moved in next door to him he was head over heals for her. All he wanted to do was protect her and keep her safe. She had trouble trusting anyone besides her friend Lexie and wanted to prove she did not need anyones help. She was to learn that people wanted to help her because they enjoyed doing things for her and not because they thought she was incapable of doing it herself. Her parents both abandon her and left her with her grandfather to raise her who she loved. Now years later he was dying and in a nursing home and she would do anything to help him cope with dementia also. Jason , Hogan his brother and Colt his nephew were out to prove to her that they were there for her no matter what she needed because they all loved her since Jason did. Lexis also met a neighbor named Sullivan who was very special to her and would stand by Honor no matter what also. It was a very romantic story as Jason broke down Honor's protected walls and showed her how much he loved her and was never leaving her like her parents did. She loved him too and learned to trust him with her heart. I am looking forward to reading the next story in this series about these brothers with Hogan finding love.

Absolutely loved this story. Honor has just bought a fixer upper but is thrilled because it's her own home. She's had a rotten family life except for her grandfather who truly loved her and raised her. He's in a home with dementia and slowly dying. Honor is trying to do it all and finds it hard to accept help. Her new neighbors are all hunks. There's Jason, his brother Hogan, nephew Colt, Sullivan and Nathan the sheriff. It's a close knit community and when they try to bring her into the group Honor doesn't know what to do. Jason falls for her hard. As a second story Lexie is Honor's best friend. She's taken with Sullivan. Both couples have great stories.

I loved this book Jason and Honor are great together go buy this book. To address the haters I read several reviews complaining about how expensive the book is Ms. Foster is publishing independent now this book has two stories in it and is no anymore expensive then most other things we buy. This book is awesome please don't pass it up.

Loved the story of Honor and the guys next door! Honor has been on her own for so long she doesn't know how to accept help from anyone. Jason is mesmerized by her sweet shyness and inner fire. He want to help her renovate her new fixer upper but she is determined to do it on her own. Sweet romantic story of family, friends, and love.

Love LF's books. This one was a sweet read and I enjoyed the two sets of romances. Well done, nice hometown romances with great secondary characters to carry the series further. Plenty of heart and heat.
