Nava is a snarky some what crude woman that is imploding in her life while her twin brother Ari has always had this huge destiny waiting for him. Nava stumbles in drunk interrupting Ari's ceremony finalizing his entrance into the demon hunting faction as a Rasha with magic to destroy demons. When they restart the interrupted ceremony the magic instead initiates Nava as the first female Rasha. From there chaos insues when a snarky female meets the all men's club of Rasha with her powers of electricity proving her to be part of their world of demon killing.
Finding out your teenage crush is a fellow demon Hunter and that the attraction is mutual and so much more complicated then you want it to be.
Hot demon killing men, a best friends that's half demon, and a brother that is floundering with out the purpose he has spent his whole life training for. Loved this book and really looking forward to the next one.

So, sometimes books on Kindle Unlimited for free are not worth your time. This is a gem, and a shining example of something worth buying and I went back and bought this book along with the others for a re-read when book 5 just came out. Totally worth it. Hilarious!

Neva and Ari are twins. She's always been the one not favored, because her brother was the chosen one to be trained as an initiate. Except, they got it wrong, and she got the magic power. Now she's the first female hunter and party girl.

Except this is a old boys club. Girls not allowed. Neva is going to have to buck centuries of sexism and prove herself. It helps that she has a great power and her dance background lets her learn quickly. But will she be able to tap dance around antagonizing a major demon? All this while having a teen girl fantasy come to life. Some girls have all the luck!

This novel has such a fun premise – Jewish demon hunters with a female protagonist? Who doesn’t love a female bada$$? I totally had to give it a try. Wilde was not joking when she titled the book The UNLIKEABLE Demon Hunter. Nava is definitely not likeable and I tried really, really hard to like her. I don’t mind a foul mouth. I have one of those myself. But I found her sexual references crude and her obsession with sex was more than a bit out of hand. It made her seem less lost girl and more wanton woman.

Aside from Nava’s ‘issues’, the story was good. I was definitely flipping pages wondering where this was all going. To my disappointment (and a whole lot of swearing on my part), the book just ended. Of course, I knew this was book one but the narrative stopped at a strange point. It didn’t feel like a natural place to stop and more like the author hit her word count goal and stopped.

I thought this story was a good read. It was snarky and funny at times. I loved the premise of the series. It starts out with a young 20 year old sex obsessed girl (typical 20 yr old) who ends up crashing her twin brother's induction ceremony to the Jewish Brotherhood of Demon hunters half drunk after a night of partying. Of course she ends up the demon slayer and not her twin. What could go wrong? I thought it was very well written, after all the title does say "unlikable" and Wilde does deliver beautifully. It was just addicting and I had to keep reading it to see what would happen. I did start to like and feel for Nava. There was a bit of sex in the story but I thought it was tame compared to other stories. More plot and snark then sex. Now I cannot wait to see what happens next. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.

The best book I have read in awhile. This was the perfect level of sarcastic and snarky without being "Mean Girl". I feel like way too many authors throw around insults without any character development. I am literally checking all the time just in case the next book is released early. I stayed up way to late to finish this one and had to drink 2 pots of coffee the next day to be functional. I think my favorite part was when H sang to h about the "lightning in her eyes". This was pretty smutty so if that's not your thing skip this title, but I loved every minute of the racy bits, dialog, and action. I don't often read a book and still think about it days later. I want to learn more about almost every character, but not because they weren't well developed, More because I feel attached to them all. Please keep this series coming!!!

I liked this well enough, though as an agnostic I had a harder time than I wouldve liked getting into the story. Once I assured my brain that i could look at demons with the same lense i do wares and vampires i was able to sit back and enjoy. I cant say that i appreciate Nava's motivations in certain points, she annoyed me more than most heroines. But, then again, the title of the book tells me shes unlikable. I did appreciate the sex scenes, and the characters were all fun to read and get to know. I will likely be picking up book 2. I find i need to know where they end up with the Sampson mission, and what powers Ari eventually gets (because I wont be faking my shock when that storyline goes into the obvious).

I was surprised by this book. I read a lot of urban fantasy and lately, there's been a lot of the same stuff coming out over and over again. This book was a treat. In the spirit of urban fantasy, the main character is edgy and pretty much a mess which leaves lots of room for her growth. I found the world interesting, the patriarch-dominated hunter society easily comparable to what we find in real life. Women oriented, the writing is fun and witty, the humor definitely adult. Expect some vulgarity and more than a few sex scenes. If you like following wise-mouth heroines (with maturity issues) who embark on adventures guaranteed to offer emotional, spiritual, and physical battles, this one is a worthy read. Romance, demons, magic, and travel.

Nava is sarcastic, sassy and tells it like it is, which is not going to win her many friends, to top it off she seems to have accidentally disturbed her brother's (Ari) ceremony which will initiate him into the Brotherhood of David (whoops), and she finds herself having to fight demons without all the years of training her brother had. To make matters worse she is a female, and they only normally have males joining. I loved reading about Nava and her struggles with her new role in life, it was humourous, and at times like watching a car crash (you just can't look away, but you know it's going to be bad), and she certainly is shaking up the boys club.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Waiting, impatiently, on the next installment! I tend to base my reviews on a re-read value and my assessment is absolutely, 100%, yes that I'll re-read this series more than once. (Bulk plz.)
Nava: She's jaded and crude but she grows and continues to grow. She faces things that she never dreamed would be hers to face and instead of balking and becoming more jaded she's finding herself. For all her 'jadedness' she sees through the gray and fights for what's right. Rohan: Is amazing and how a real alpha is. Touched by the darkness he battles but fights to be more. Ari, Drio, Leo, Kane, Treetrunk.... all amazing! Everything from the relationships, romance, fighting, story line, is great! Different from anything I've read before.

The MC is hilarious, I love her humor ??

There's sex, thank the gods.

You do learn why she stopped dancing, I was worried I'd never find out.
As well as why Rohan stopped singing.

This book felt very unique to me, something I've never read is a Jewish twist. And let me tell you the MC's personality is anything but PG, so don't go thinking religion=God fearing, you can have religion in a book apparently and not turn me off. I know, I was shocked.

Look forward to book 2!

The idea has promise. The plot was ok. However there are very very long and incredibly boring sex scenes. Five pages for the main character masturbating is a bit much. Less talk about her genitals, sexual fantasies, masturbation, and actual sex, and more about character development and plot would be greatly appreciated. I also had to wonder about how she was the first female demon hunter. You would think that in the hundreds of years they have existed that twins would have been born before and one of them would have ended up a female demon hunter. Twins really aren't that uncommon.

The Unlikeable Demon hunter is a great story. It has plenty of action and suspense. Nava is strong, proud and slutty. I absolutely love her character. She really brings the drama and humor, a real goof off. Becoming a Rasha, Demon Hunter, she didn’t feel ready for such responsibility and wanted to treat it like a joke that she could just run away from but she soon realized that wouldn’t be the case. Her family was now endangered from what she had done. The demon Asmodeus didn’t want to just kill her he wanted to destroy her, to break her down. Dealing with him and all of her training helped her to find a purpose. I really enjoyed this story and I can’t wait for the next installment.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Finally read the first book after the second. I must remember to do it this way rather than starting later in the series. Very difficult to put down. Nava is a Rasha, demon hunter / killer. First female Rasha ever. The Brotherhood (of Rashas) is not very accepting that a formerly all male group of demon hunters originally descended from David (see Bible). One of the group is rock star no longer singing that she loved when she was 13 or so and now is a Rasha. Action ensues. Nava is slowly coming to grips with herself. Kills a few demons, including a bad-ass Asmodeus - she already had killed one of his "sons". Great action.
Pretty darn good book. Want to read more by author.

A lot of the bad reviews for this book were because the mc was immature and slutty. I usually like a snarky female mc and I definitely don’t mind sex scenes (although the sex talk/jokes got old really fast in this book) but this mc was a bit ridiculous. They was a lot of slang and Jewish terminology that made a lot of what she said not make any sense. I found myself glossing over sentences, then paragraphs, then the rest of the book. In the end I was just super bored of it all.

Couldn't finish th book. Main character is terribly immature, making it super easy to dislike her. She also acts in unbelievable ways. Oh- you just accidentally killed a demon while giving him a hand job? No problem- you'll be panting at the next stranger you run across 15 minutes later. That's a real part of the plot, folks.

If you've ever felt like there are no books out there that have a leading ~lady~ that you connect to because you happen to be a hot mess perhaps this is the book for you, my friend. Nava is just a girl in an unfair world much like our own. BUT what makes her special, this story special, everything about it special is that Nava just gives zero f****. She feels like she has nothing of her own in the beginning of the book and she deals with that like a real person. She wants to party and not be responsible and even though Nava can't bother to care about her own life she deeply cares about her brothers.

She isn't very nice. She wants to have sex with people she hardly knows. She's not afraid to do things that might be frowned upon ;) She is not perfect, but she doesn't want to do what she wants to do but she does it anyways and that is what I love about this book. Nava is a borderline crap person but like a lot of us she does what needs to be done and that is something that you don't see a lot of. I not only like the character but I also respect her.

Also, ROHAN. He isn't book boyfriend material. Yet. Or maybe ever but y'all not every guy needs to be a boyfriend to be enjoyed.

Fair warning there are graphic sex scenes. I'm going to say it's not quite Anita Blake but uuhhh... there are some steamy *adventurous* scenes. Oh and there is plenty of swearing. You have been warned.

The point of all this is that this is a fantastic book and you should for sure read it. READ IT.

Nava is a disfunctional play girl who accidentally gets her twins membership in a secret demon fighting organization. Not a new idea and frankly poorly done. Nava is just irritating as a character. Disorganized, silly and very difficult to feel any sympathy for. The plot is just silly with party girl taking bizarre risks tring to give her position back to her twin. Just does not work on so many levels.

Kindle Unlimited, which is how I got it when the kindle wouldn't pull up my freebie day copy. Jewish Buffy, but more bad a** and well more everything, and definitely not the sweet, prim and proper type. There were some ick factors for me {the small 'romance' bits} but thankfully not that much and definitely not enough to even think about taking a star off, because overall really enjoyed the book.

I enjoyed this sassy sexy start to a new series. Nava makes no excuses for her party girl antics and believes in equal opportunity booty calls. Being thrown into the life of a demon hunter slightly complicates this. Nava and her fellow hunters offer plenty of laugh out loud one liners and hilarious situations. This is balanced with the loving bond between twins, rejection in various forms and a few tender vulnerable moments. Thankfully the characters are neither overly shallow or take themselves too seriously. I just downloaded the next book and can't wait to start reading it!

Deborah Wilde's The Unlikable Demon Hunter was very likable to me. A female hunter, Nava, in a brotherhood of all males hunters, springs feistily from the pages of this amazing tale with flamboyance, flare and plenty of fire. The plot twists and turns with family drama, sibling loyalty, danger, romance and steamy sex. All the supporting characters are just as intriguing as Nava and would enjoy seeing more of Ari, Rohan, fellow hunters as well as Leo, the half-goblin best friend. Appreciate the opportunity of getting to read and review an ARC. Kindle Unlimited customers will be able to read for free.

An excellent interesting well written story! Twins have a special bond and this story is about that bond and demon hunting. learn about the secrets and Nava’s induction into an interesting new life. Hard to say much without giving the story away but let’s say Nava with break the male barrier in a big way. She will become another kickass Buffy with a mouth filter problem. She is smart, funny and such an interesting story. I was given a link to this book and throughly enjoyed the book that I will be reading the rest in the series!

Oh my dear lord this was absolutely fantastic. I have a predilection for kick-a** heroines. I have a prediction for snarky gals. I loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The concept of mashing all that together with a drink off her a** heroine who becomes a Slayer by accident? I was so there - and boy oh boy did I turn out to be happy about it. I loved pretty much everything about this book, the plot, the characters and the world created for them to play in, the snark, you name it.

Wow.

Yes, highly recommended.

Unlikeable is the word. It ought to be tricky to have such a despicable main character, although all these 5-star reviews suggest otherwise. This is really not a book for adults given the shallowness of the MC, but I wouldn't give it to young teens because of the unrelenting sexual content.

Waaaaaaaay too potty mouth for me, but the actual story part of the book was good enough to stick with this.
I was warned sufficiently in the synopsis, so once I got the gist of what I could and couldn't skip over, it went more smoothly.
i'll usually stick with books that have a good plot even when I tend to skip over detailed sexual encounters that I have zero interest in.
Plot stays the same and I don't miss a thing.

Good read.

I'm such a sucker for books compared to Buffy, with Buffy the Vampire Slayer being one of my all-time favorite shows. More often than not, they don't compare. They're boring and cliched, and just fall flat. The Unlikable Demon Hunter, however, was great. Like Buffy, Nava starts off completely immature and irresponsible, but, due to her destiny as a demon hunter, is forced to grow up quick. This book was truly awesome, and definitely hilarious, and I'm pumped for book two. I'm excited for more.

I was laughing multiple times over this book and oddly fascinated in the only-male-brotherhood.

But I fell in love with Nava and Rohan...BIG thumbs up :)

What an unexpected pleasure! I was not sure what to expect when I downloaded this book, but the title and cover caught my attention. I am so glad it did! The characters, the story, the attitudes, the originality of the magic and world - it all worked. Definitely give this series a try if you like a take no prisoners heroine who has to figure out how to fit in and deal with a (literally) male dominated society.

The yedish was hard to understand but the author did a good job about trying to explain it in the story as it came about. There were several times that I had to reread sections because they jumped. One thing is happening and then with very little explanation or sometimes none at all we’d jump. Sometimes rereading helped but others, no matter how many time I reread I couldn’t make sense of it.

Nava Katz is like a foulmouthed Buffy with a Jewish twist. Party girl turned demon hunter, Nava's world turns upside down as she becomes part of an all male secret demon hunting service---a position her twin brother had trained his whole life for. What a blast! This enchanting novel had me hooked from the very first page. I fell hard for Nava, the star of this tale. She’s a seriously amazing girl who, in the most unlikely of circumstances, becomes a Rasha, or a Jewish Demon Hunter. The main character, Nava, is at a place in her life we've all felt, lost. When she is chosen, instead of her brother, to become part of an ancient demon hunting "club" she reacts just like you'd expect. I LOVE Nava! I can see where some people may not like her but I think she is fun and spunky and sarcastic. She is comforatble with her sexuality and sex and doesn't care who knows it. Well developed characters, different take on demon hunting, excellent plot and a story you really get into.

A fun read. Written well with full sentences and all the words spelled right. All your typical characters but they come with fleshed out personalities, the angst isn't overwhelming, sexy time is actually sexy and the fighting gives you enough to get into it without making you skip ahead from boredom. Here's hoping book 2 maintains the standard now set.

This book is not for the faint of heart or those that like their urban fantasy PG-13. This is a foul mouthed sexy ride into demon slaying and those that do it. Nava and the rest of the Rasha are amazing. The story is tight and fast paced. Definitely worth the price of admission!

Quite the polarizing book you have here. That said, I fall firmly on the pro-Nava side. Sure there's "language", but it's situationally appropriate and is, quite frankly, hilarious. There's sex but it's all character-building and plot-driving rather than gratuitous (subtle puns intended?). I appreciated the existence of an actual story line, emotional development, layered supporting characters, and comedic wit (rather than simple sarcasm). Despite the genre's reputation for teen-targeting, throw-away literature <lots of winking, coughing>, this is a well-crafted book for a more mature, and daresay discerning, audience. I will be reading it again.

Go ahead and apply this review to the whole series.

Let’s get one thing straight- Nava is a disaster and she’s disgusting. But that’s part of why I finished it. The girl has major issues, we learn later on the reason and her reaction seems a bit extreme.

Nonetheless the book made me laugh out loud. It’s like watching the really, REALLY drunk girl at the bar.

What fun! Nava Katz attend her brother's ceremony to become a Rasha, a jewish Demon hunter, a group started by King David. During the ritual she is chosen, not Ari, her brother. With the choosing she gets a power to use against Demons. You would think that sarcasm, sexiness and bitchiness would be enough power. Nava wants to find a way to get Ari in "Demon Club". Along the way she finds a little more than she is looking for.

Great characterization. I am really looking forward to the second book!

Ok this book officially has the best opening scene ever. I laughed so hard I cried. Great storyline, couldn't put the book down, very well written, love the characters, and best of all the snarky humor! Deborah is clearly talented and I can't wait to read more of her work. Ten stars if I could.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice twist on the typical girl discovers she has power and is needed to save the world. Nava is unique not your average demon hunter. I thought the relationships were good, and the romance had a nice start. Although I didn't love that the "hero" was a former rock star, I thought that was unnecessary, but will cause more issues in the next book. Overall a really good read.

Love, love, love Nava! She’s such a spunky, irreverent, kick a$$ character. Loving the angst and chemistry between he and Rohan. Rohan...sooo drool worthy. Totally going to keep reading this awesome series!

This was an interesting and funny book. The predicament Nava finds herself in blind-sides everyone. Nava doesn't know what comes over her, after a night of misbehaving, when she claims her brother's ring for herself.
A great read with twists, crazyness, and a bit of heartache mix in.

This is a great story, full of humor and anticipation. Love Nava, her brother, Ari, and of course Rogan. Don't love the demonstrating us and the voter's still out for some of the other Rasha. (Okay, Kane is pretty cool) Looking forward to the next book.

Just the right mix of humour, grit and well sex. The main character has issues clearly.. with authority when it comes to her smart mouth and some emotional issues. But it certainly doesn't leave her being the snivelling damsel in distress she kicks ass period!! Seriously if you like a women who knows her worth and shows it you'll love this book

Nava is not only a holler back girl she will punch you in the face. How can this girl be so confident and insecure.
Becoming a Rasca by replacing her brother
was the world best joke. This girl is so unprepared.
Loved the story and the laughs!

God I love Nava and Ro is totally swoon Worthy! If your looking for a sassy, snarky, and strong female lead, with a delicious alpha who will deny being in her back pocket these two will light up your pages. This urban fantasy is an imaginative, action packed, laugh out loud, heart pounding page turner.

This book is beyond awesome, I loved it, the excitement of having a purpose in life. Then the monotony of preparation to fulfill that purpose. The interaction of the others in the same purpose. Life in general but Deborah weaves the story so well it is truly a joy to read.

Being quite snarky myself I really enjoyed this book. Smart ass awards all around. It's very much like coming up with fabulous come backs after the confrontation is over except Nava comes up with all the great ones during. I now live vicariously through her. Thanks

Unlikable or amazingly, amusingly real. Don't we all know someone a little bit like Nava? They are the most fun to sit back and watch the train as it begins its slow mo wreckage. Well, I loved it and her and can't wait for more of the demon hunting Calamity Nava!

I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review. Absolutely wonderful story to read!!! Totally enjoyed reading a story that involved a very strong female character. Nava proves not only to be an attractive young woman, with a brain, but it seems that she is also a kickass, magical demon hunting machine.

If you want to read a story that is full of laugh from the start, then this is the one for you!!! It also gives you little snippets of history.

Since I love snarky women I can't tell you how pleased I was to find a heroine with the right attitude to deal with her all male coworkers. Yeah she was ruled a little too much by her sex drive but I suppose we all were at 20. Great fun, loved it, finished it in a single day.

This book has a really good storyline, the kind that leaves the reader finishing the book in a day! The Nava Katz series itself is exceptionally hilarious, Wilde portrays the perfect funny, sarcastic, kick-butt main character. The storyline has the perfect amount of romance that balances the storyline. To put it simply, ¨The Unlikeable Demon Hunter¨ is a really good book that you should read too!

This was an impulse borrow using Kindle Unlimited and I am eternally grateful for that whim. Nava is the kind of character who you wish could come to life and become your best friend. Her antics made me laugh numerous times and cry in frustration once I finished the book until I realized the second book was available to borrow. This story struck the perfect balance between comedy and action in a realistic way. I have loved reading Karen Marie Moning, Jeaniene Frost, and Chloe Neill (among many many others) and this author is now on that list. 10/10 would recommend!

No stranger to language, however this book has a terrible story line it hides beneath curse words and gross lingo. Could have been so much better if the author focused on developing the character rather than trying to be shocking. All in all too boring to read.

Tasteless! I didn't really believe it was that bad. I kept holding out, thinking it'd get better. This book is utter garbage with a slutty heroine who cares more for sex than anything else. Relieved I borrowed this through KU. I'd never willingly waste my money on this trash. I felt as if it mocked the Jewish traditions as well as the bible, and having every other character as gay was really disappointing. Won't be reading another one of her books again.

The author got me hooked on the story after the first page, with her is fresh and original approach based on Jewish Lore. I also totally fell in love with Nava and her attitude. She is strong and brave, loving and loyal, independent and progressive, supersmart and unconventional, and a force of nature.
The Brotherhood of David was created to fight demons and initiates are descendants of David, all male of course. Then by a weird incident Nava gets initiated instead of her chosen twin brother Ari who has been training for it all his life. But then again, not much is usual and traditional about Nava. Although she accepts the role reluctantly, she gives it her best. She learns how to fight and she takes on her training and duties with fervor.
There is a lot of awkwardness between Nava and Ari in the beginning and there is a lot to work through. Then there is a whole lot of awkwardness in the Brotherhood mansion when the first ever female initiate moves in. I have to admit that I find some of the male characters quite annoying but that is how they are and I would not change them. We meet Baruch, Rohan, Drio and Kane, the demon hunters, as well as lovely Rabi Abrams.
The characters are complex and well developed, and the world keeps growing. There is non-stop action from beginning to the end. The story contains quite a bit of violence, as well as explicit scenes and language, all perfectly written, to the point, and with purpose. Before I reached the half I already bought the rest of the series and joined the Wilde Ones to get the short stories.
The reading order is The Unlikeable Demon Hunter (Nava Katz, #1), Slay, An Unlikeable Demon Hunter Short Story (Nava Katz #1.5), The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Sting (Nava Katz #2), Crush, An Unlikeable Demon Hunter Short Story (Nava Katz #2.5), The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Need (Nava Katz #3), and Seize, An Unlikeable Demon Hunter Short Story (Nava Katz #3.5). I hope there will be more.

This is the most hilarious, irreverent and demon hunter story I've read in a long time. Nava is a one-of-a-kind demon hunter. She is a twin and her brother, Ari, has studied and trained his whole life to become Rasha (a demon hunter). Nava is so funny when she appears at her brother's ceremony, still drunk, and screws it all up. Somehow, the fates thought it would be funny to make Nava the Rasha, instead of Ari. This ceremony involves the initiate gaining magical powers and an unremoveable ring as an ID to other Rasha. The stuff she gets herself into had me rolling with laughter and sometimes wanting to smack her. This is a really good book and you will enjoy every minute of it. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and then bought it.

Nava is a party girl with no cares in the world, drinking and partying like there is no tomorrow. Of course, after a night of sex and drinking, she is late to her brother’s induction ceremony into the demon hunters’ society. What makes matters worse, she is the one that is inducted during the magical ceremony. Being the first girl ever in the society, no one is happy, least of all her twin brother. Nava will stop at nothing to get her brother inducted between fighting the demons who want the privilege of killing the first female demon hunter and learning all the skills she needs to survive her new profession. At the beginning of the book, I didn’t really like Nava. As the book goes on, I really come to feel for her. She had some issues that lead her to feeling useless and aimless. However, I must admit I would have liked more of this information more towards the front. Her attitudes would have made more sense instead of her coming across as someone who doesn’t care about her life. As an aside, Nava does not spend her time talking/thinking about sex. She does at times throughout the books, but it is in no way all the time; she likes sex and isn’t afraid to talk about it. This book is well-written, has an interesting plot, excellent, action, and I really liked the characters, although I must say at times the demon hunters seemed a little too similar. I am really looking forward to reading more in this series. Recommend! Thanks to NetGalley and Te Da Media/Broad Universe for the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed. This exact review will be posted on both the store and Goodreads.

I don't know why it took me a couple tries to get into this book, but it did. So if that happens to you when you start reading, push through it! This was one of the most delightful books I've read this year, and it was unique in so many ways.

First of all, I love that the demon hunters are a Jewish organization and that the heroine is Jewish. How often do you see that in urban fantasy? It was a first for me, and boy did it make for an interesting read. Not only did Wilde's seamless integration of Jewish traditions and beliefs into the narrative add facets of interest, but also tons of opportunity for humour.
Second, it's set in Vancouver, Canada. Canada represent! I live pretty close to Vancouver and, while it's not my fave place in the world, it was dope to see a kick-ass urban fantasy set there.

Third, holy hell was it refreshing to see a truly bad ass, no-holds-barred heroine. Nava was so three dimensional that she was practically four dimensional. Her anxieties, issues, fears, and quirks were familiar but unique. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know Nava, and I can't wait to read more about her.

And hey, Wilde totally nailed the romance. Rohan was an intriguing and mouth-watering hero, and I liked that while he and Nava explore their sexual chemistry, doing so doesn't take any of the fire out of their relationship. Because of the way the author has set both of them up as characters, there's still millions of miles of room for relationship development in future books, without leaving readers wanting in the meantime. That's a delicate balance to pull off and I take my hat off to Wilde.

I could sit here and talk about all the things I love about this book all day. It was laugh-out-loud funny, well-written, well-researched, well-paced, and in general just well-done. Do yourself a favour and jump on this series ASAP. You won't regret it.

I loved this book and am waiting with bated breath for the next one in the series! Nava, a new demon hunter, is like no other heroine. The first woman in "Demon Club", she is unabashedly hedonistic and known for her abrupt way of telling it like it is. Demure she isn't. Now Nava's trying to make her way through uncharted territory without getting killed. It doesn't help that the guys in Demon Club aren't that happy to have her as part of the team. Lots of laugh out loud fun and steamy romance!

I swear this had all the makings of a perfect read. . . except Rohan. It's not even that I'm particularly against him as much as I'm against Nava's extreme obsession with him.

Leo stole my heart and I'm shipping her and Nava very hard. In a girls-rule-guys-suck kind of friendship.

It would've been nice if Nava had rebelled against the Brotherhood. It's not like they could actually do anything to force her into killing demons without seeming worse than the demons themselves.

Drio *sighs dreamily*.

Started off brilliantly. Great banter, humorous scenes and great storyline. However about 3/4 of the way through it lost the "wow" factor. Having a female demon slayer was a first. Especially a gutsy, outspoken zany one. Can they teach her enough to stay alive? Especially when she goes all out for one specific demon. An interesting book with Jewish male demon slayers. Just wish that it hadn't got bogged down with the relationship between her and another slayer so much. A build up would have worked better and the banter and brilliant dialogue could have continued to the end of the book.

Oh my gosh! I absolutely loved this book. Literally laughed out loud multiple times. It's an urban fantasy novel, definitely some romance, but it is written so amusing and funny, with such an intense, interesting plot line that I could not put it down.I read a lot of fantasy-type books, and this one really stood out with the writing style! I received a copy of this book, free. It was amazing, the young woman joining what has always been an all male group of hunters. I totally loved the whole Jewish Hunters, it is new and fresh. I started it and could not put it down. Nava is an ass-kicking heroine. The humor is great . The action is everything you could want from an urban fantasy. An awesome start to the series. I am so looking forward to more. If I could give it more stars, I would. It is a must read.

This book had an interesting plot. I like Nava and her snarky attitude. I also feel a bit bad for her at the way she is treated by the brotherhood and her own brother. It gets better with the brotherhood through the book but her brother makes me a bit angry, he acts like what happened she did on purpose to ruin his life. Anyway the book kept me engaged.

I loved this book, but with one caveat. I am a 68-year-old man who does not mind soft core porn. That given, this book is well written, exciting and thoroughly enjoyable to read. I would not have my Adolescent class read it, but for adults, it is new, and refreshing to experience a young lady who has a mind and body of her own and knows and relishes in it while still killing and protecting others as she needs to.
