I love all of Lynsay Sands books. They have great subject matter that keeps you engaged in the story. The book flows well and the Argeneau novels are always wonderful. She continues to grow with this series of books and no 2 are the same story.

Immortal Ever After is the latest book in Ms. Sands Argeneau series. Not having read any previous books in this series, I was a little worried I might not be able to jump right into the story, I quickly discovered that the books in this series are all stand alone books.

I love the way Lynsay "humanizes" Anders. Immortals have a sensory awakening when they find their life mate, after years of not eating real food, his appetite returns, and he loves ice cream..(so cute). The attraction and chemistry between Anders and Valerie will make your heart flutter and your toe's curl (As for the humor- just wait until you read what Ander's real name is... that made me laugh out loud). The drama in the book is effectively married with the passion and the humor. I finished this book wishing every book I read made me feel this way when I turned the final page.

I am excited to read more books in this series and if you are a fan of series books there are A LOT of them (20 to be exact). On the top of my TBR list is Bite Me If You Can, I loved Lucian and Leigh's relationship in this book, so I can't wait to see how they became the couple they are in Immortal Ever After.

These books just keep finding new and interesting ways to twist the formula. This book involves kidnapping, vet school, pregnant ladies, and dogs. Who knew I would like it when all those things were spun up into one book?

Valerie is an independent woman who doesn’t let being kidnapped by crazy people hold her down for long. Sure, she’s alone, trapped in a dog cage, being food for some guy who thinks he’s a vampire, but that doesn’t stop her from fighting back and eventually getting all the survivors out alive (almost costing her her life). Making a phone call that involves any hint of vampires, however, calls in the Argeneau team of enforcers.

Anders has watched a whole bunch of vampires find their life mate and did not truly intend on finding his anytime soon. The signs are all there, though – he can’t read her, can’t control her, and loves food again. If only she weren’t possibly being hunted by the rogue that kidnapped here, it would all be pretty perfect. Oh, and she doesn’t truly believe in vampires (or at least good vampires, since the guy that kidnapped her ultimately fed off her).

Things rapidly spiral out of control in the last portion of the book, though. Sometimes I wonder exactly how the author will wrap things up so quickly, but nothing felt rushed or completely out of control. We still get our joyous happily ever after (now with a slightly happy Lucien!). I really enjoyed having a main character who really didn’t need Anders to come to the rescue. Go team independent woman!

After spending 10 days as a vampire's prisoner, Valerie is healing but remains under the protection of enforcers as they locate her captor. Not that she's complaining with a handsome man like Anders watching over her. Like all immortals, Anders is thrilled to have found his lifemate in Valerie. Though convincing her it's a good thing will be tricky seeing how her last encounter with his kind didn't go so well. Anders will try to show Valerie not all immortals are fiends and he's deserving of her heart.

There's nothing exceedingly remarkable about Valerie or Anders but that's not to say they're not good characters. Valerie has no family, which makes her a perfect target for an immortal, they don't like being called vampires, looking to collect victims to snack on. Able to break free, she saves her fellow captives. Valerie is a survivor that takes things in stride. Even after Anders admits what he is and the truth about his people, she keeps it together. Her calm demeanor and heroic actions is what I enjoyed most about her. I love a heroine who's logical and doesn't wait around to be rescued.

Anders is an enforcer with a sad past that helped pave the way to his position. He's great to Valerie and puts his whole heart into winning her over. I thought he moved their physical relationship too quickly despite warnings from his friends. The lifemate bond makes every couple rush things but with what she went through, it would have felt more gentlemanly if he would've taken a step back. Not that she didn't welcome it and it was pretty steamy, I just expected better behavior from someone as together as Anders.

As with most books in this series, catching the bad guy or what have plays a minor role to the romance. Anders and Valerie are sweet, hardworking people who deserve someone to come home to at the end of the day (or night). They didn't blow me out of the water but I was entertained and got the warm and fuzzies at the end. There were several familiar faces, my favorite being Lucian and his very pregnant lifemate Leigh. I love watching her poke at her husband, who's the most badass of all the immortals, and most anything Lucan says cracks me up because he has no filter. Their appearances boosted my rating up.

The second half of this series has been hit or miss. This wasn't quite as good as the pre-Rogue Hunter books but it's an improvement. Immortal Ever After is a quick, sweet, hot read that I think can be enjoyed by fans of the series or newcomers who don't have the time to read the 17 installments that came before it. I think the author does a good job at recapping, although if you have the time I suggest going back to the beginning because those are the better books.

I read this book because it takes place in my hometown, Cambridge, Ontario. The scenes where they go to Swiss Chalet and Tim Horton's reminded me so much of home!

I love that so many of Sands female characters are strong and can stand up for themselves, rather than the "damsel in distress" that is used in so many other romance novels. The same is true with Valerie, this novel's main female character. She escapes from the rogue immortal who is holding her captive and goes to live with Lucian and Leigh in their home until she recovers from her injury...while falling in love with Anders.

This was a great romance novel and I found myself laughing at some parts in the book. For example, when Valerie is examining how Bricker's fangs suck up the blood on their own.

I was very excited to see that Anders was finally going to get his lifemate and finally find someone to maybe make him smile and loosen up. However, I found myself cringing at the TMI moments of these books. I don't need to know all the details of how a woman shaves her legs, trust me I do it and know the process.

One of my biggest pet peeves with any book that I read is when the author has major mess ups with timelines for their story.
When Valerie was kidnapped she mentioned to Greg seeing a Renaissance picture of her kidnapper in the house. But at the end when they finally caught Ambrose (the kidnapper) and questioned him he said he was an accidental turn during WWI. So how is it he had an authentic portrait of himself dressed in Renaissance clothing and an aged portrait? Someone's beta readers or editors were lacking on the job when reading this story.

A good story with great characters. Valerie WAS a spunky, smart woman, whose quick thinking often got her out of trouble. Something that even Anders remarked on several times. He said that often she just rescued herself before anyone else could. True. But they were there to help her after that happened. There were funny moments in the book especially the second time she got taken, what she did was not only clever but so funny too. Anders was so kind and considerate of Valerie, when he wasn't trying to have life mate sex. Even then, he still was old world charming for the most part.
Valerie's dog Roxy was a nice touch as well as being a well trained dog. Most of the Argenau "family" was therein the story, although Marguerite who played a large part of other stories, wasn't there this time, just mentioned. and Leigh (the life mate of Lucian) was fun and made things easier for Valerie when it came to know what kind of "people" she was staying with. Leigh was easy going, cheerful and VERY, VERY Pregnant.
There was a few interesting twists at the end.

Immortal Ever After by Lynsay Sands
*A review copy of this book was received from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review*

Valerie has moved to town temporarily to hone her veterinary skills at the local university. While out walking Roxy, Valerie is drugged and kidnapped along with several other girls. The girls are kept in cages and fed laced oatmeal until it's their turn to feed the rogue vampire that has taken them. The only family she has is her dog Roxy so when she goes missing there's no one to notice.

Anders has been watching his friends and fellow enforcers drop like flies as they find their lifemates. They are shorthanded now and waiting for reinforcements when they intercept a suspicious call to the local police. The women were in bad shape, especially the one they found outside. He never expected to find his own lifemate among them.

Immortal Ever After is the newest installment in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands and it definitely doesn't disappoint. The characters are interesting and lots of fun to get to know. The story is filled with not only new characters but characters we have grown to love throughout the series. I love that this series is so much fun to read; the stories are full of romance, love and humor.

Valerie is a great match for Anders, she is spunky and fun but she isn't a damsel in distress. While in captivity, she comes to the realization that it's up to her to save herself and the girls. She becomes fast friends with Leigh and the others but her reaction to Anders continues to puzzle her. She isn't looking for love or a relationship; (she's been down that road) because of Anders, she is reassessing her life and love.

Anders isn't interested in going through the drama his friends are going through when they find their lifemates. He constantly gives Bricker a hard time because he is always hungry and wanting to stop for food. Now he finds himself enjoying food again, little by little, starting with ice cream. The moment he realized he couldn't read Valerie, he knew he was in trouble but he was looking forward to finding out what fate had in store for him.

The heroine is strong and able to take care of herself but isn't afraid to ask for help when she needs it. She takes the information that they are immortals in stride, even though she thought her capture was a vampire wannabe. I love that she was able to keep her wits about her to figure out a way to escape "Igor" and his boss by herself. One of my favorite scenes was when she and Leigh were in the van and she had a mallet in her hand, I laughed so hard at that whole scene. In the end, Anders was able to step in and help her so he could play hero too.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and loved visiting with some of my favorite characters from previous books. I give Immortal Ever After 4 Flaming Hearts.

I have read this series since book #1 and have loved all of them (some more than others) and this story takes us back closer to the "old" books but with a bit of the Rouge Hunter theme thrown in since the heroine Valerie has to be rescued by the Enforcers headed up by the Argeneau men.

Anders was introduced to us several books back and has pretty much always been the strong silent type, well its his turn so enjoy. The story is great and the action while good unfortunately is a wee bit predictable.

You have at least 2 major "Don't go in there!!" moments when you know something bad is coming and they go anyway. While I continue to enjoy this series I am beginning to wonder if Ms Sands is running out of ideas, she has been a major creative force but this book seemed to reflect back on a few of the other books IMHO.

I give this one 4 Stars max since I did enjoy it but I am concerned about the future of the series

"It was cute and a very easy and fast read." ~Under the Covers

After a few good books in this series, I thought really we were back on track. And by back on track I mean fun, light and sexy. IMMORTAL EVER AFTER was all of those, but a somewhat watered down version of what I was expecting.

Valerie is a human who was kidnapped by a rogue vampire, kept in cages along with other women for him to feed on, and who recently managed to escape and alert the authorities. In doing so, she alerted Lucian and his enforcers. When they come for cleanup, tough enforcer Anders realizes she's his life mate. Instead of wiping her memory, Lucian brings her to his home to spend time with Anders and see if they can make it work. Meanwhile, the rogue is still running rampant and trying to get his women back.

First, if you are scared about that big number in the series (#18) don't worry. This can be read as a standalone pretty good. There's somewhat of a disconnect from the rest of the series and only a few cameos by favorites. The one couple that plays a big role are Lucian and Leigh. Leigh was a source of comic relief, especially since she's pregnant and playing matchmaker. That is a job much better done by Marguerite.

Anders is a sexy and tough alpha who succumbs sweetly to the joys of meeting his life mate. Valerie has an instant attraction to him, which felt like more of a crush at first, but it slowly developed into more. I think the chemistry between these two was great and they were definitely a cute and enjoyable couple. My favorite part was Valerie calling Anders `Semmy'.

I am starting to feel that maybe this series needs something to shake it up a little bit so that the stories don't start blending in. But other than that it was cute and a very easy and fast read.

Lynsay Sands delivered another solid book with Immortal Ever After. It didn't blow me away, but it did keep me thoroughly entertained all the way to the end. But, all of the books in the Argeneau Series seem to follow the same format:

Dramatic Opening Scene where someone is in danger

Dramatic Rescue

Discovery of possible life mate

Suspense over whether said life mate will accept the news about Immortals

Anxiety while waiting for their decision

Another possible dramatic event

Resolution where they live happily ever after

The story is for the most part good, but it feels like it is following a very strict formula, with little to no surprises thrown in. And something about this book didn't dig deep enough into the two main characters' emotions. I wanted them to end up together, sure. But I wasn't really invested in it like I was with the first several books in this series. Maybe I'm becoming a little bit cynical, but it seems that the last couple of books I have read that are part of a long series seem to leave me wanting more. This book ultimately did that. It was a nice, easy read - kind of like a carefree day at the beach. But I wanted something heavier that had me tied up in knots; anxious over the relationship in question. I recommend it if you have been reading this series because it has certain plot lines that continue on the story of older characters that we know and love. But I won't tell you to move it immediately to the top of your TBR list.

Valerie Moyer is a vet who just escaped a madman's house in hopes of finding help that will save the rest of the women held in the house. However, it doesn't work out quite that way when Valerie passes out weak and hurt from her captivity and escape. But all might not be lost because Valerie wakes up warm and seems to have been saved by a group of people who say they can take care of the fanged monster that held Valerie and the other women. Valerie is willing to do what they ask in return; especially, since one of the guards is one sexy man she would love to get to know much better.

Anders is an enforcer who was sent out to investigate a 911 call that mentioned vampires. He is sickened by what he finds in the house and after looking for the missing woman who made the call, Anders looks outside and finds her hidden and unconscious. It's his first instinct to help her and that is when Anders realizes that Valerie is his mate because he can't get into her mind at all. This is not something that Anders wanted to face right now and he isn't sure if he is happy to have found his life mate or not.

As the days go by, Anders knows that Valerie is the perfect life mate for him and begins to show her just what he is feeling. However, he knows that there is one area that he will have to overcome before Valerie will come to love him or agree to be his life mate - that all vampires or immortals are not monsters. The more time Valerie spends with Anders, she begins to feel more than just the initial attraction but things are beginning not to add up. The monster that held her and the others is still out there and it appears he wants all the women taken back. The danger is circling around Valerie just as things come to a head and Anders must tell her the truth about himself and the others. Will Valerie be able to accept the fact that most of the immortals are not the monsters she faced just a few days ago or will this be the fact that turns Valerie away from Anders forever?

A rescue mission turns into a passion of a lifetime when life mates meet for the first time in Immortal Ever After. Anders was just following orders when he and other enforcers investigated the house that an emergency call came from. Valerie acted out of desperation when she attacked her jailer and made the call for help, only to pass out from pain while trying to escape. I loved how gentle Anders was with Valerie while she came to terms with what happened to her and the feelings that were emerging between them. Anders might have been worried about what Valerie would decide about them, but really when you have the entire crazy and fun Argeneau family on your side winning over your life mate is a given. I really loved that the women were more than able to hold their own when it was needed. And, of course, I can't forget to say something about Roxy, the great warrior dog, who knew Anders would be great for his mistress. Immortal Ever After has as much suspense as it does humor and when you toss in the swirl of passion, it's a wonderful addition to a family that I love to visit one book at a time. Anders and Valerie's story will draw you in instantly and won't let you go.

This is the 18th book in the Argeneau Series by Lynsay Sands. If you haven't read anything else in the series - Where the hell have you been? And what has taken you so long to find it? Geesh, catch up all ready. *grin*

Lysday Sands has been writing this series since about 2004. She took the vampire concept and completely flipped it on its ear. They call themselves Immortals. Yes, they drink blood. Yes, they have a very long life span. No, they aren't undead or have lost their souls. Ms. Sands gives us the descendants (and some actual survivors) of the lost city of Atlantis. Theirs was a culture that was light years of anything else on earth at the time. The scientists of Atlantis were working with nano technology to create nanites. They would be introduced into a patient, seek out damage and repair it using the recipients own blood to power them. Unfortunately, the body is under constant attack from everything; the elements, sun damage and even time. To combat this blood drain as the nanites worked on keeping the recipients in tip top working order, those with nanites had to get regular blood transfusions. Everything was working fine, until Atlantis fell and the surviving Atlantians made their way into the world. They were greeted to a culture that was no where near as sophisticated as their own and so the nanites helped them adapt to keep on surviving. Giving them fangs, night vision, speed, strength and even mind control - all to keep the blood supply rolling in. The survivors had to adjust or die. Immortals can die, but typically only through decapitation or fire. It has to be something so severe that the nanites can't repair it in quickly enough for the host to survive.

Immortals found that they all have a perfect Lifemate; someone who can't read or control them and who they can't read or control. Someone that is a perfect complement to them and they can relax around. They attribute it to the nanites knowing who will be there perfect mate. To aid in this knowing, the Immortal will find that all their appetites begin to increase again - for food & for sex. And the final clincher - Lifemates share their lovemaking pleasure with each other, to such an extent that the newly mated will pass out from it. If the Lifemate is mortal, they can be turned by giving them blood enriched with nanites. The nanites take over and repair damage, though this is typically very, very painful and the person has to be sedated due to the pain of the changes taking place in their bodies.

There is a main council of Immortals. They have laws and rules to keep Immortals free from mortal discovery and a danger to themselves and others. There are Enforcers who hunt down Rogues, those Immortals who refuse to obey the laws and risk discovery by mortals. They protect both the Immortals and the mortals. And as some of these guys have been around for centuries, you can imagine that they are pretty good at their jobs.

This book is about one of the Enforcers, Anders finding his Lifemate, Valerie, after she has been kidnapped and held hostage by a Rogue. Valerie managed to not only get free, but call the police for assistance with the other women locked up with her. Needless to say, she is weak from malnutrition, injured and traumatized by this event. Anders has to figure out a way to get Valerie to not only trust him, but to be able to get past the trauma she faced at the hands of the "vampire".

I really liked this book. Ms. Sands is continuing her series with grace and style. In earlier books in the series, we got the vivid and graphic lifemate changing process. In the later books, she either manages it "off screen" or plots it out later after the "credits roll". And yet, she still manages to get the information about what will happen and why across to the reader in a fresh way. It doesn't feel like repetition, repetition, repetition, ad nauseum. This series continues to be on my auto get list, and it will continue to stay there. I am giving this book 4 very solid stars on Goodreads.

Immortal Ever After by Lynsay Sands
Argeneau Series Book 18
The serious and solemn Anders has met the woman he can't read after living his six hundred plus years. He had watched many of his fellow Enforcers meet their life mates in the past few years, causing their numbers to dwindle. They became rather useless during that first year or so, one kiss could turn their minds into a lustful mush. He was fine without it, or so he thought before he met his mate. Now to convince her that not all men who drink blood are like the man who had held her hostage.

Valerie Moyer was trapped in a situation and had determined to escape. Being held captive by some sicko, who thought he was a vampire, was not how she wanted to die. She fought back and won. Now she finds herself in a safe house with a man who's body is the furthest thing from safe. And his kisses.....his kisses turned her into a wanton hussy sex addict.

Once again we get to see some favorite characters from earlier books, such as the always scowling Lucian and his chipper wife, Leigh. Justin Bricker, the young one of the group who never can get enough food and others. The book was humorous as always, maybe even more so. Give a girl like Valerie a mallet and duct tape and it's a regular one woman comedy show.

I am a stalker when it comes to the Argeneau series, so when I saw this as an ARC in edelweiss I requested it without any idea of who the main characters were or what the plot was!!

This started out very very dark, honestly it was a bit scary. It was did not start out as a Lynsay Sand's typical lighthearted Argeneau book. Someone was kidnapping women, drugging them and keeping them prisoner in a small cage. What was scary was that the guard would take one of the girls where they would become the "toy" for a sadistic vampire.. Luckily, the sexy Anders is nearby and is just the perfect bodyguard that Valerie needs.. In the previous books in this series, Anders is always portrayed as a loner, a quiet one... but it was fun reading how he deals with finding his life mate. Wait until you hear the "nickname" Valerie gives him, LOL. This book is filled with twists and turns until a final showdown at the end...

We see our favorite vampire/soul mate couples throughout this story, like a homecoming. I love the antics of Leigh, she is hilarious. As this is the 18th book in the series, I am wondering if it will continue, I think all of the main and secondary characters have had their story told, well the only one i think left my be Justin. I hate to see this series end, but we may have run out of romance and life mates to pair up.

For the past several days, Valerie Moyer has been held in a cage in a basement with six other women. Each night one woman is let out of the cage, and when she comes back, her neck has been bitten. When it is her turn again, Valerie is determined to free herself. She fights Igor, the henchman, and then calls 911. They do not believe her story, but the Enforcers do.
The Enforcers capture rogue vampires who don't follow the rules. While the rest of the women--those who lived, anyway--are sent back to live their lives, Valerie stays in a safe house to heal from her wounds. What she doesn't know is that one of the Enforcers, Anders, needs her to stay around. She is his life mate, and he and the Argeneaus want her to have a chance to get to know him before she discovers that Anders is a vampire, too.
Fans of Lynsay Sands' series will love seeing Anders find his mate. New readers of the series will enjoy this tale, too. There are many characters from earlier tales, but they do not intrude on Valerie and Anders' well crafted story.

What it's about: In this 18th (18!!!!!) installment of the Argeneau vampire series, Valerie and Anders are the couple of the moment. Valerie doesn't believe in vampires, until she is kidnapped by one. She escapes, barely, only to find herself under another fanged monster's protection. This is only the beginning, though, when Anders discovers that she's his mate.

Why you should read it: I really liked this one. It was shorter than average, but that just made it easier to fly through. I really, really liked Valerie. Her escape was daring, her assessment of the different situations were humorous, and she made a great heroine. For those of you who follow the Argeneau series, you know that Anders is an Enforcer for the Immortals, which makes him tough, violent and the perfect Alpha. You can enjoy this story even if you haven't read the previous 17 books, but of course you'll understand the characters and their references more if you've read the earlier ones.

"Immortal Ever After" was a great read. It begins with Valerie planning her escape after being captive by a rouge vampire and his master along with several other women. She ends up in a safe house where she meets Leigh and her husband Lucian and her protector Anders. Valerie's captors are still on the loose her for her protection she must stay where she currently resides. Anders is a man of few words, yet he has his hands full of Valerie and when she figures out whom and what he is hopefully she will trust him enough to know that he would never hurt her. Valerie has to decide if she wants to stay in the life she was thrown in or go back to the life she once knew. I really enjoyed this book and I loved the characters in it. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. I recommend this book to anyone 18+ looking for a good paranormal book that will make you laugh.

Valerie and Anders are destined for each other. All Anders has to do, explain and convince Valerie that vampires really exist. The nanos do their part. The attraction between Valerie and Anders is immediate and blazing. As usual, there is danger for the Immportals, but with the help of the bride-to-be, the accidently made rogue vampire is captured and true love can finely take its natural course.
Valerie is not the only addition to the Argeneau family. Remember Lucian and Leigh? They have an even bigger surprise for the fans of Lynsay Sands and her adventures of the Argeneau family.
Immortal Ever After is exciting and funny as another life-mate is found. The nanos have done it again --and then some.

It is hoped the fertile mind of Lynsay Sands continues to send us many, many more exciting editions of the Argeneau Family.

I really liked the book, I liked how strong Valerie is and how she saves her self several times. Though I really liked the book I wish it had gone more deeper into Anders' past and deeper into his history so I could get to know him deeper. It felt like I only got brief glimpses of the man he is.

Despite all of that, I really liked Valerie and Anders' story and their journey to get to know one another and fall in love with each other even under the threat of the rogue who had kidnapped Valerie still being on the loose.

I love Lynsay Sands and another well written book by her.

Since the fifth installment of the Argeneau series I've really found the books to be hit or miss. Unfortunately, Immortal Ever After was a miss for me. With a strong start I was excited to delve deeper, but by the 25% mark I was down-right bored :(

The heroine was great to read. Strong, smart, and witty Valerie held all of the characteristics that I love in a feature female. But the hero...... Oh, Anders how I was disappointed in you. He was dull to the point of being robotic. I actually started to 'hear' his character speaking like Robot from Lost in Space! It really is a shame. Opposites attract to a point, but their clandestine mating just seemed too unrealistic.

Another problem was the lack of action. With an evil rogue with a fancy for kidnapping mortals still on the loose I thought for sure there would be a great climactic fight scene at some point. Once again my expectations were let down. The take-down of the villain was as anti-climactic as you can get. In fact, it was a very small, and almost irrelevant part of the book.

I have a fond place in my book loving heart for Sands and her Argeneau series, so I will hold out hope that the next in the series will be a hit.

I have read all the Argeneau series so far. This one is an O.K. book. Not outstanding but it does have some redeeming actions. Valerie and 9 other women are imprisoned by a crazy vampire. She knew that she had to get out and get help for them all . She makes a jump and escapes not before getting injured herself. Anders is waiting outside watching from a far because the Rogue hunters are on the prowl.. When Valerie makes a run for it Anders is there to help. She has to finally realize that the hunk that rescued her and her captor are both vamps. That is really hard for a grounded person like Valerie to accept. But during the course of the book all is worked out and Anders and Valerie are together and he bad guy is caught.

Another fabulous installment of the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. The highly anticipated story of Anders ... and what a story it was.
Ms. Sands starts this book off a little darker than the rest of the series. A Rogue Vampire has kidnapped several females and is using them as his life blood. Valerie Moyer is one of those girls and she has figured a few things out: 1. They are all being drugged. 2. Her kidnapper has a "vampire complex" and 3. It's up to her to save who is left in the cages with her. What she doesn't expect is to be found by the Argeneau Family Enforcers and to learn that vampires do exist.

Anders - well, anyone who has followed the series knows and loves the dry, non-smiling Anders and knows that he always makes the books interesting and amusing. But, his transformation in Immortal Ever After was amazing. It was wonderful to see him happy, to see him joke around and to see him fall in love with Valerie.

It's up to Anders to protect Valerie after she got away from Ambrose and Igor. But, he can't read her. Now, we all know what that means, but he's not convinced. It takes all the signs of the life-mate to get him to come around and accept that Valerie is his - forever. He has to take things slow though. She was attacked and abused by vampires and she is still not convinced that they are real. What is is going to take to get her to come around and accept him and his way of life? If she accepts all that she is being told, will she accept being turned to spend eternity with him?

So, Immortal Ever After has a little twist to it. It's not Aunt Marguerite finding Anders his life mate for him. She just happens to come into his life on her own and she already knows about vampires. Also, there is the mystery of the rogue vampire and the girls he kidnapped. What are their connections, how did he find them, what's his next move after they got away and he wasn't caught? And, Anders and Valerie's love story is not the only thing happening in this book. Hint: Lucien and Leigh are highly visible throughout the story and she is one ornery pregnant vampire that still does not follow orders well. We also meet a few new Enforcers that needed to be called in since everyone seems to be finding their life-mates. But, it's my deepest wish that my favorite Enforcer, Bricker, gets his HEA next.

I've have enjoyed reading the Argeneau series from Book 1 - A Quick Bite. She always keeps the stories fresh and exciting with a little something new each time. The Argeneau's and the Notte's are fun, sexy and exciting and Ms. Sands brings out all the best qualities in each of them making them all feel like family. Honestly, I will probably feel like I am loosing a good friend when she decides to end this series. But, I know that all I have to do is open a good book and they will all be back to make me smile, cry and laugh-out-loud!

Again, Lynsay Sands has brought the paranormal genre to another highpoint. We can always count on her to bring a fresh and exciting story to life for us. So, enjoy Anders story - you won't be disappointed.

Valerie finds herself and six other women held captive rogue immortals. Anders and the enforcers intercept a 911 call about vampires. This book had me going from one emotion to the next like a Rollercoaster. In one part I almost had a heart attack and the laughed so hard my coffee came out of my nose and then a few pages later I was almost crying. This is truly an amazing series.

Immortal Ever After is the 18th book in Lynsay Sands' insanely popular Argeneau series, and a fun, exciting, sexy story! I've read more than my fair share of the paranormal romance genre, most especially vampires. I don't know what it is, but there's something about these tormented souls that draw me in and keep me coming back for more. It's not often that I fall in love during my first read of a series, but I fell - and fell hard - for the Argeneau world. This is my first taste of Lynsay Sands' writing and I was very pleased! This world she's created is exciting, and the characters are intriguing, compelling, and yeah... very sexy.

I usually hate coming into a series mid-way because I either end up lost or cringing at the information dump we have to endure. Thankfully, I was neither lost nor cringing because Ms. Sands did a great job of giving us the Argeneau world background without making me feel like I was reading a text book. The story is well written and through dialog between characters - old and new - she imparts everything new readers need to know to feel like we're part of the story, not just reading about it.

Anders is such a great guy! I can see why everyone loves him, and anyone who's been anxiously awaiting his story will be very happy! He's so much fun... open but shy, strong but vulnerable, and not just sexy but super sexy! He's the kind of vampire I want for my very own!

Valerie is a great heroine. What she's endured would break most women, but not her. Even though everything she ever thought she knew about the world around her has been turned upside down, she holds it together and does what she has to to survive.

The bottom line: In case you didn't get it, I really enjoyed this book, and while it was my first experience with Ms. Sands' Argeneau series, it most certainly will not be my last!

My thanks to Avon Books for providing me with a copy of this story I exchange for an honest review.

Lindsay Sands presents another tale of the Argeneau family's history. We are wrapped up in a tale of new life mates but we also get a glimpse of things happening in the Argeneau family including the birth of Lucien's and Leigh's progeny. This book is a good deal better than some of the prior tales. The humor is there and some very sexy love scenes. I recommend the book to fans familiar with Sands prior work. If you are new to this series it is best to go back and rad the earlier novels as. The background, although worked in with this book, leaves some rather large holes in the reader's understanding.

This is the 18th book in the Argeneau Series so the basic world building was done long ago. Knowing all the basics of the Argeneau family before hand lets you read, with pure enjoyment, the development of the personal relationship between the two protagonists. In this particular book, catching the bad guy is important to the series' progression but how they do it is natural, logical and believable - not to mention, hilarious. Also, learning Anders' backstory, after his supporting character role in several previous novels, was enlightening and dramatic. The author did a good job on this one.

I really like the Argneau Series. I have never read one of them that I didn't like. This was a typical Argneau book. I read that some people think they are "cookie cutter". Well, actually, that is one of the things I like about them. I know they will have a good ending. I know they will be sexy and funny. And I know the family story line will be sustained. I don't know how the integrity of the series could be maintained, without bringing in the previous characters, so it is very interesting to me. Of course, I have read every previous book. I don't know how someone who has not read any of them would react, but I don't think it would make a lot of difference. I think prior knowledge of the characters enhances the reading experience. I don't think it is necessarily essential, as enough background information is included here, to make the story work.
If you are new to this series, read the older books too. They're fun!

I always enjoy Argeneau series. This seemed a bit different then the others, but still very exciting to read. I didn't want to put it down. Valerie is kidnapped by a rogue vampire and manages an escape only to end up hurt and in the hands of Anders, an enforcer. Of course as in any of the books, they fall in love. But, it's getting there that is fun and I got a few laughs from Leigh's story, hugely pregnant and past due. There are many exciting parts too that had me on the edge of my seat.

Just as in her prior book LS does another amazing job telling a story without falling into what most authors do when writing a long series. Each story although some parts are pretty much are expected to happen the road there is entertainingly different. This is something that not many authors can or have been able to do so well. I love reading book series where the hero finds his girl or vice versa. I have seen unfortunately many times where the author falls into this repetitive story telling. The reader become confused of which book she/he is reading because the story telling was so similar to the prior books. I'm only left wonder why someone whether it be the author's editor, friend or anyone that might be part of the author's support friends/staff didn't say something.
Anyway, this isn't the case of any of LS's books. Immortal Ever After was very entertaining and a definite great read. I also purchased the audio version of this book and found it to be well recorded. Don't pass this book up. Can't wait for the next book!!

Lynsay Sands always delivers sexy, fun romance with the Argeneau series. Fans of this series have been waiting for Anders' story! Anders is a sexy, protective, alpha hero who rescues Valerie from a psychopath. Valerie has endured what would break most women, but it only makes her stronger. She is thrust into a world she never thought possible. Lots of action, lots of romance, and great characters. I loved Anders and Valerie's story!

Wonderful author = wonderful book!

I have read this series from book one, and this is another wonderful addition! I was hesitant to buy this book however, because the synopsis given was so sparse and had so little to do with this book that I didn't know what to expect.

Note to the store: I don't care if the author is a best seller, or how many other books in the series had critic acclaim. I want to know what that book I'm considering buying is ABOUT!

Over all a great story, with great characters and plenty of lol moments to savor!

This was the first book I have read of Lynsay Sands and it'll probably be my last. I know that this book is a part of a series, but at the end of reading this one, I don't feel compelled to read about the other characters.

It started out so good and held my interest but it soon fell flat fast. I will say right around the third chapter. The writing was very simplistic and boring. It seemed like there was no point to a lot of the scenes and it dragged on and on with no end in sight. There were unnecessary long descriptions to mundane things that took away from the story plot. Do we really need to know every time Valarie took her dog out to handle his business and then pick up his poop or Valarie and Ander's strategic grocery shopping trip? I wouldn't recommend this book.

I don't think you could say I read this book, I practically devoured it. It is the 18th book of the Argeneau series and I absolutely loved it. I have been a fan of Lynsay Sands for a long time and she did not disappoint with this book. It has everything you would want, great characters, an interesting plot, action, suspense, humor and of course plenty of steamy loving. I can't wait to read the next one.

waited so long for his story and was happy to find out about his pass.
I love that he found a mate that was just as strong as he is.

The end of the book was my biggest problem how, how, how, how is this possible that a 16th century painting that was the picture of the bad guy who we now finds out to be from world war one............was the picture a fake?

it killed the book for me I don't understand how they could miss that.

I like books where the heroine is strong and confident, and not a blabbering oh whoa's me idiot. Surprised at Anders story. I guess all walks of life have their jealousy and prejudices, don't know why a race altered by nanos, only having a handful of survivors after the fall of Atlantis would be any different. Good addition to the story line, and LOVE Lucien with Leigh!

I haven't been a big fan of paranormal romances until I read 'Seer Temptation' by J.L. Hein and then I got hooked. I read Immortal Ever After by Lynsay Sands without reading any of her other novels. After I have read this intricate vampire novel its hard to believe some of the reviews. I liked it. It did seem to have something off in one place or another but it seems like an over all good novel and one that I would recommend to my friends. I can't wait to look into her other books.

Normally I love this genre of stories. Christine Feehan, Leia Shaw, & Kresley Cole are some of my favorite authors to read for entertainment, so I thought I would try this book out. The use of the word "Lifemate" kept making me think someone was seriously influenced by Feehan but I overlooked it. I think the thing that bothers me most about this book isn't the subject matter but that everything is overly explained (as if it were a script or screenplay blocking out actors movements) which leads to chapters being drawn out. I'm listening to this book on audible (love audible, it allows me to read at work :-) ) and I've made it to chapter 10 of 19 and have nearly turned it off and opted for another book serveral times. I know had I actually been reading the book by this point I would have given up on it. So far the characters are lackluster and the story far too slow. I've read a few other reviews that felt similarly but stated that this isn't the best of this authors books, so I'll look up another one and give her another shot. I realize this is the 18th in a series and no one can hit the ball out of the partk each and every time.

Speaking only to the Audible side of it and the woman reading the book I've heard much better; once again...maybe it's just this book. It's so important that the reader bring the characters to life, unfortunately Paula Christensen just doesn't. Obviously, being female herself she does fine reading female characters but the men are unbelievable for me. I will say tho that for the most part even the women feel flat. I say that because I've heard readers (Robert Petkoff reads Kresley Cole's books) who are absolutely amazing, they make you forget you are listening to someone read a book, you get into each character because the characters are believable. Petkoff makes you forget he's a male reading a female character, he's THAT good. He makes every character "feel" different by using spot-on accents, voices, tonal inflection...if somene wants to hear a great reader, look up some of his work. He honestly acts out each character, whereas many reders of these books merely read them. It makes such a difference.

Edited to add: I have a feeling I would have liked this book better had I not been listening to it on Audible. The voices in my head I'm sure would have added to this story.

Last edit: Ok, just how dumb does this author think her audience is? She overly explains absolutely EVERYTHING, even a grocery list and the process of shopping for groceries (UGH!) I had to force myself to listen to this book in entirety...continually hoping it would improve, it didn't...all the way to the end. After reading many of the other reviews of readers who absolutely raved about this book (which is why I tried it to begin with) I'm thinking I'm not going to bother downloading any of the others, if readers think THIS is good...obviously the rest of the series isn't going to be something I'll enjoy. I'll stick with Feehan, Leia Shaw, Kresely Cole, Carrie Ann Ryan and many others...at least I don't feel they are dumbing things down for the reader. This is one of the very few 1 star reviews I've ever given an author EVER...and I started out at a 2 star. I've never had to go back and downgrade, but honestly...this one was a stinker!

The book was okay, I guess. It was funny in parts, but what made me almost throw the book was the ending. The book makes a huge deal about a specific item to identify the bad guy, then switches immediately to how the bad guy got turned into a vampire decades after the item was supposed to have been made. Umm what?!? It's like I was reading the ending to a completely different book!! Continuity much?!?

It never explained about the identifying item (a painting) again. So Lynsay Sands, get all your notes in order before sending it to publish, and editors...did you read the book?!?

It starts with bang, and ends with action.  It was nice to see more of Leigh and Lucian.  I'm ready for the next book and now have to wait.  It isn't necessary to read the other books, all the info is there without a huge info dump.  I would recommend it though, because it will give insight into the peripheral characters.
