Medieval historical romance with humor abound. Lord Holden and Lady Helen find some hilarious situations to be entangled in. This was a lighthearted read that gave me much to enjoy with each new chapter. Looking for a light yet fun read that will gave you a better view of the day pick up Bliss.

Lynsay Sands has become one of my favorite authors. I look forward to each one of her books. She adds humor so well that it has caused me to laugh at loud and get strange looks from passersby.
In Bliss she has the hero the Lord "hammer" of Holden being wedded to his neighbor the Lady"Tyrant" of Tiernay, after the King who is tired of the feud between the two decides to wed them and le them be each other's problem not his. Well since neither can refuse the king they must go through with it, or at least make the other try and get out of it. Hethe, the hero, decides that he cannot anger the king and since the heroine is beautiful it wouldn't be that great a hardship to go through with it. The would be bride has other ideas. Helen, the heroine, thinks that she can make him back out by playing all sorts of wicked tricks on him but they unfortunately backfire on her and she finds herself wedded to her handsome but supposedly horrid neighbor. Soon though she finds out that he is not the cruel man he has been rumored to be and he finds that he has great feelings for her. They fall in love and together will fight an unknown assasin and bring harmony to both keeps.
I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone. And also any of Lynsay Sands other novels.

I like Lynsay Sands, but if you've read one of her books, you've basically read them all. They all follow the same formula with the couple reluctant to marry at first, then they get used to each other and start falling in love, then someone threatens the life of one or both of them. It usually isn't that hard figuring out who that someone is either.

There are a few funny parts as Sands seems to favor slapstick humor. Still, I found myself being bored with this book. Not that the book is badly written, it just felt like deja vu. If I hadn't already read The Deed, What She Wants, Sweet Temptation, The Perfect Wife, and other Sands historicals, I probably would've enjoyed this one more.

Okay, I've only read 3 of hers so far, but this was excellent! I

loved everything about it. I cared equally as much for both of the main characters. The supporting characters were great, and I loved

the mystery part at the end of the book. You begun to feel like the real culprit would get away, scottfree, but luckily, he did not. It was shocking who the real culprit was, right under our

noses all along.

Once the characters got past the gross parts (approx the first half of the book is gross things happening to the characters), the love scenes were just awesome. Of her 3 books I've read so far, I liked the love scenes in this book the best.

I was super happy for the main characters, two people never deserved each other so much as they did. This book definitely urged me to read yet another Lynsay book.

The king is stressed out! How to deal with the complaints of Lady Tiernay and Lord Holden. How about marry the two and let them work it out? The king thinks it a brilliant idea, and orders it so. Helen is appalled at the idea of marrying the Hammer of Holden and he's not keen on the idea, either, being that she's a Tyrant. But things are not always what they seem.

Helen tries several pranks and ruses to dissuade Lord Holden, but he's trapped as much as she is by the king's order. Woe is he who has to marry this lady! Can they learn to work together in this marriage?

There's some sinister happenings going on in Holden, and the results are Lord Holden gaining his reputation as violent, uncaring and insensitive. How could a man not care about the people in his land? Is he so heartless? Lady Tiernay will learn that the man isn't who she thinks he is.

There's lots of laughter along the way, and Lynsay Sands is one of my favorite writers for that reason. I like my romances funny and historical (or time-travel). This one's a winner.

Lynsay is one of my favorite authors and she keeps you coming back for more...Anyone who loves a good "battle" of wits, hearts and a good mystery will want to read Holden and Helen's story. There could not have been two better "warriors" for this story of romance? Find out for yourselves, don't miss Bliss.

The story line is predictable. Hate to love in a few days. What makes this particular story different is the ridiculous lengths the "heronine" goes to to prevent the marriage. I was bored silly by page 100 and fast forwarded after that. The Lady Holden was annoying and the Lord Holden was a wimp. Not too terribly difficult to determine the villain either.

The poor hero is stuck with a lady he considers the nag of all nags. The heroine is stuck with "The Hammer", a man she knows to be unspeakably cruel and brutal.
To what lengths would you go to avoid an arranged marriage....
Ms. Sands made a story that could be so yawningly typical, into a spitfire comedy of love. Terrific writing, likable characters and predicaments that you gotta see to believe. Throw in some delicious romance (and the poor hero that you've got feel sorry for-in a funny way), and you've got a book that I read practically in one sitting. Hang your "Do Not Disturb" sign, ladies.........

this is a so so book. it is the kind of book i buy when i am desperate to read something anything!! the back cover descriptions made it look interesting but it really wasn't. the
pranks at first where funny then they just got too silly. i find that the author has a very poor editor...who believes that someone in that age would call their mother "mom" or use
modern expressions of sarcasm like 'oh just great'. little details like that tend to annoy me. little or no sexual tension
and unbelievable plot threads. this is the first time i read tis author and i won't be making that mistake again.

Although this book was not a "keeper" for me, it certainly had its moments! Once Helen and Lord Holden were married, the book wasn't that exciting and became your typical historical romance. But while she was trying to drive him away, it was hilarious.

Lynsay Sands has never failed to entertain and amuse. "Bliss" is no exception to that rule. Her unique form of humor will keep any reader chuckling and turning pages into the wee hours of the morning. Now, if you are a stickler for historical accuracy, you may have a problem with modern medical terms being used in medieval England. However, I consider this poetic license and it only added to the enjoyment of the book. The antics in this book were refreshing, quick-witted, and a pure pleasure. If you don't enjoy this book thoroughly; you do not have a funny bone.

I happened upon this book by accident. It was one of many that I purchased by chance. I can not believe that I had not read one of Lynsay's books before. I was laughing so hard, I had to put the book down. My kids were just staring at me as though the were saying, "Yeah, she really is as weird as we always thought."

I have been a loyal reader to Julie Garwood, Jill Barnett, Candace Camp and Judith Krentz/Amanda Quick books for more than 10 years and I have to say that I laughed more during this book than when I read any other book I can think of. Lynsay truly has a gift.

So here I go! I need to order a few more Lynsay Sands books!!!

I have to say that this story had me laughing hysterically with the main two characters. I guess in those days, if you got stuck with a fiancée you spadix not want, you had to be creative to get rid of them. I like the story, it was funny, there were plots and ultimately the love story.
