Wow, what a start. So looking forward to the next in the series. Like the way humans are so out matched, yet the keep making silk from a pig's ear to reclaim Earth. If you enjoy this type of SyFy, jump in.

I was very surprised when I read this book, having never heard of the author. It was great and an easy read. If this is book 1 where are the rest of his biiks. I would love to find the rest of this series, if it exists.

This trilogy is original and imaginative, not a remix of the same old sci fi ideas. I also found it refreshing that the hero's showed integrity. By that, I mean willing to do the right thing even when it hurts.
The Fallen Empire Omnibus (Books 1-3 and prequel) :: The Girl Who Dared to Think (Volume 1) :: The Gods Themselves :: Anomaly :: Way Station

Forbes is a great writer. It is hard to put down his stories when you start reading. I wish I had not read this book yet because I don't want to have to wait for the second one. I'm sure I will feel the same way when I read the second one.

A lot different than The War Eternal series, but not in a bad way. This book was more conventional military sci fi. It's similar to the TV series Falling Skies in terms of resistance and human vs. Alien tech, with (human) spaceships too.

Can't wait for the next book from this author, whether it be The War Eternal, The Divine, or Rebellion series.

The characters are interesting and flawed; making them relatable. I like that the humans are the underdogs and losing badly. Who doesn't like a comeback story. At the same time you almost empathize with the position of the aliens...almost :)

To the author: keep writing, you'll only get better!

Couldn't put it down.. Great concept and execution.. Well written and very fell errors.. The characters were well thought out and the dialogue was great.. Can't wait to read the next book of this series

I don't write reviews of the books I read. That being said, here I am. So far this is the best of Forbes' works to date. Eagerly waiting for the next. Very interesting plot. Engaging characters. Now kick some alien butt!

good story but not very technical. I like the science behind syfy stories as well as the story itself. this was a good story with just enough science and technology in it to keep it interesting. but a good read I would recommend

The start to this series is a total one off!! Loved it!! Can't wait for the next installment! If you haven't read this story, do so! Run to the nearest book store or order online. You will not be disappointed.

Not for me. Unlikely & stilted dialog, which ruins a story for me & renders characters unbelievable. Not able to suspend disbelief. In fairness, I quit the book at 50%. Just couldn't maintain interest.

I wrote the first review on 2\18\16 the release day.I hadn't read the book I was just giving Forbes a shout out for his prior work and happy to have something new. I have now read the book and enjoyed it. I look forward to the sequel. As always Forbes doesn't disappoint! This is real action and adventure sci-fi with fantastic ideas, heroic characters and all the plot twist that keep the pages turning. Don't be the type to get hung up on the science being believable. Just fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride.
