I loved this book. I could see it as a movie! The writing was so good that I could see everything so clearly. It reminded me of how Stephanie Meyers book "The Host" was turned into a movie. This one would be even better!

I really enjoyed this book which was a unique storyline I haven't read before. The book was well written without the typos I have found in some other Kindle books. The character development was believable to me and I found myself rooting for the main character. I am definitely interested in reading more from this author.

Highly recommended!

Real science fiction starts with a premise and explores it realistically and, if we lucky, in an entertaining manner.

This fast paced, well written (in my humble opinion) story qualifies nicely.

As a bonus, despite being the first of a series, the ending provides a good sense of closure.

I guess I'm just old fashioned, but I like a book where the good guy and the girl go through a lot of struggles but in the end end up together. I've read all the books in this series and this is the best so far. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Fast moving story with some interesting characters. A new species or an accident waiting to destroy the Universe as we know it? You'll just have to read the book to find out. I enjoyed the authors style and will be looking for other stories.

Thoroughly enjoyed the book. This was the first book that I've read (that I remember) that includes sentient, sub-space entities which I thought were explained in a believable way. I also like the main character and his interaction with the sub-space entity and other characters in the book.

This is the kind of scifi I like to read. If you like your aliens and tech, in the future of space travel these are the books for you. This book is only about Sethran and his adventure. Well worth the read.

It is a little hard to get into and easy to lay down. However, you do want to return and finish the book. I like SyFy but this was different than any SyFy I have ever read before. I would read from this author again

I started this new book by a new author (new to me). Often I start books by new to me authors and don't get past the first chapter. That was not the case with this book. I often did not get to bed before 1 AM. Of course I am retired and can sleep in most of the time?. When I say I couldn't put it down I am not exaggerating. Most of the time it was because my eyes were clouding over and I couldn't force them to focus.
I dont know what type of stories you as a reader like but if you enjoy interesting space adventure I think you will enjoy this as much as I enjoyed it. I am getting ready to read the next in this series and I expect no less than that in this book!
So just download it and read it.

SciFi novels tend to fall into two categories - action adventure or thought provoking. Quantum Tangle tries to straddle both - by introducing an entity that inhabits subspace. Given that subspace itself is theoretical, why wouldn't there be entities that occupy parts. Quantum Tangle is a mystery, causing the main character Sethran to explore both planets he's aware of and inner space (his own psyche) all while completing a mission he was hijacked into. An enjoyable read, still contemplating moving on to the next one.

Quantum Tangle is a great start, good character development, fun but consequential stories. I'm hoping that Chris will continue to write and maybe a little longer books with even more plot and character development. Thanks

I've read a few of this Author's Targon Tales. I remember this book's main character, Seth, appearing in those other ones. Although I liked the other books OK, I found this one to be better. Maybe because Seth as a main character keeps my attention more--he's pretty intriguing.

This book also had a more interesting plot, with some suspense. As with all of the Targon series, the world building is good. Has some sexual situations, so not for the very young reader.

I'm not sure if I'll continue with this series, but I'm glad that I read this one.

I bought this book, influenced a lot by the intriguing cover. I like stories featuring strong women.

This wasn't quite that, but nevertheless a very interesting premise. A star sailor, passing through sub space finds his ship and himself joined by an entity of particles. The story of how these two then face their adventures and manage their relationship is lovely.

It isn't full of, "hard," science fiction, but that can get old for those of us who are PHD in rocket science lite-like me and this is more a romance in outer space with derring-do. It races along at a fair clip and I read it all straight through in about 5 hours.

Most enjoyable and I will be returning for more stories from Chris Reher.

I really enjoyed this book. It's premised on a unique and very interesting vision of a new alien species. I would have given it 5 stars, but the writing is a bit unpolished here and there and there are a few typos.

Never really got into this character much during the main series so wasn't that into the story. It kind of lept right into 'way out there' space and did a LOT of references back to the prior books which I felt was a bit over blown. We didn't need more than 1 reference to the fact that he loved the girl from the main series. Mentioning it as often as it was felt like a cop-out more than anything else.

The story was interesting and engaging, however, and had a good pace. It wasn't quite as gripping since you already sort of know how it'll turn out due to the timeline it's in but it was a solid read and quite interesting as a spin-off novel.

I enjoyed this story. It moves along and builds a new universe with good character invention. I like the premise that our galaxy has been populated before and would like to see a story developing the species relationship. Quantum Tangle develops a story line in the "Known Space" style and works it well. I will read the rest of Mr Rehers books.

I really enjoyed this romp through space. Starting with the main character Seth and his alien companion Khoe as well as the fascinating world that Chris Reher has built, I'm looking forward to reading more. I do hope that we get to meet Khoe again in future books! I do understand that Seth is in several other books, which is great!

This book needs a serious grammatical scrubbing. With numerous parts where the author uses gender specific language as if it is interchangeable it is often hard to follow the story. And at one point the main character actually appears to be confused about whether s/he is talking to a boy, a young man, a girl, or a woman.

I didn't care for this book but I got it for free so no harm. To be honest, I did not read all of it, I read through a few pages but found it tedious. Maybe it gets better which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2

Sethran Kada makes his first appearance in Chris Reher's feature- and creature-rich world in 'The Catalyst', as well as another appearance in 'Rebel Alliances'. And in both of these instances, he played the badass that he rightfully is, and he certainly doesn't disappoint in Quantum Tangle either.

But things are different this time. He's tasked to assist a being that has managed to connect with him in remarkable ways, and during a simple mission of data retrieval in relation to this being, unfortunate events occur that puts Seth firmly on the wrong side of Air Command. What's a badass to do? Fight his way through impossible situations to his goal, of course.

In the previous books, we only see Seth through Nova's eyes as an untrustworthy ex who's most likely a dirty rebel because he deals with rebels. And even though I felt that wasn't the case, I am pleased that this book has confirmed things. I would have liked a tad more depth into Seth's characters as to why he does what he does, how he came to be this way, but Chris Reher's motto is "Action, action, ACTION!" and, per usual, the book is brimming with it! Chases, gun fights, and extraordinary and powerful abilities exhibited with the help of the new entity.

Seth loses trusted alliances, but also regains it in others he wouldn't have thought possible. And then there's the new being that has manifested as a female. And Seth's feelings towards her is very complicated. It was enjoyable to read his interactions with this new entity and to learn more about the remarkable connection they shared. The ending was definitely a surprise. And while a part of me feels it ended on a satisfying note, another part wonders: what would have happened if things had gone otherwise?

Give Quantum Tangle (and all of the other Targon books by Chris Reher) a go. It's definitely entertainment at its finest! :D

A recent kindle edition freebie.

I read about a quarter of it and gave up. It had potential but the author did not make it interesting enough to me to finish it.

A solitary pilot going through subspace acquires a more or less virtual being as a room mate in his head. It just did not do all that much for me so I quit on it.

It's the distant future, and a star-spanning civilization, populated by multiple human-descended species, known as "Prime" species, as well as a number of genuinely alien intelligent species.

Centauri pilot Sethran Kada unexpectedly drops out of subspace into the wrong sector of space, and quickly discovers he has an unexpected stowaway. The stowaway is a being from subspace, a member of a newly evolving species native to subspace, and has stowed away in his brain. searching through his data files, the being constructs an appearance and a personality, and decides she's female and names herself Khoe.

She wants his help stopping the kidnapping of her people into realspace, and especially his help in recovering the being she calls the Alpha--an individual vital to her species' continued existence.

They are both in for a wild ride.

I like the characters. I like the action. I like the gritty, lived-in feel of the universe. The story is a lot of fun.

But it's only fair to make clear that while one major plotline is resolved, this book definitely ends on a cliffhanger. Subsequent volumes are available, but be aware that you'll be wanting them.

There are also some oddities in terminology which seem hard to account for. Spaceships are often referred to as "planes," and the military is called the Air Command. This just doesn't fit. If you are very sensitive to that kind of inconsistency grates for you, be aware before you start reading.

All in all, though, enjoyable reading.

I believe I received this book for free. I'm reviewing it voluntarily.

Interesting concept, but the unnecessary sex scenes ruin it. I ended up skipping a lot of pages. I would have given it 4 stars, otherwise. the store needs to have a rating for their books, not everyone likes reading trash.

Review based on the book being part of a compilation

After reading Sky Hunter, I jumped over to the spin-off series (hey, I'm a sucker for free books via Unlimited) to see if Chris Reher could continue to deliver in what looks to be her 6th book in the Targon universe. I'm pleased to say that this book was both as original and exciting as the initial read in the series and kept me firmly engaged throughout the evening as I flew through this one.

Branching off of the Nova character storyline, the Sethran Koda story mixes a bit of sci-fi with mystery and spy drama and delivers a compelling mix. As I found in the original stories, the character development is well thought out, and provides a good starting point for drawing the reader into the story. A nice blend of humor, compassion and excitement fill in the action around these characters as they look to solve the mystery of how sentient beings are being pulled out of 'sub-space' (parallel dimensions?) and are merging with people in real space. While the ending is a bit foreshadowed, that still doesn't take away from the quality of the book. My only real gripe was the love interest portion of the book -- seemed a bit forced (and really did provide a new meaning for self-love).

Overall though, this was another solid offering from Chris Reher that combined all the right elements to produce a satisfying read. 4 stars (and a fan who will be reading the next book shortly).

I have just completed Quantum Tangle and the rest of Chris' work to date. One thing this book demonstrated to me is that her works are truly stand alone stories since I read Terminus Shift, the last Seth book to date, before Quantum Tangle and both completely books were satisfying.
They are complimentary, not interdependent. Although Chris is a new writer, she demonstrates the skills and imagination of much more seasoned artists. It is obvious that her skills and imagination, good from the beginning are continuing to grow with each book. Her science and extrapolations of current theories shows that she does her home work.

I am looking forward to the next Seth adventure. Although there is still a lot of room in the Trans Targon arena, I hope Chris also plans to expand her considerable talents and versatility to explore totally different directions with different characters and different universes. All of her work is well worth reading. Thanks Chris!

Hmm, a dyad. Wonder what it would be like to be a dyad? I like to escape from reality by reading SciFi/Fantasy, and Chris Reher provided me with a great escape in this tale of Sethran/Khoe and Seth’s Delphi friend, Caelyn. So if you enjoy a great space opera you need to check out the Sethran Targon Tales.

Unique premise,true symbiosis!!!
Love her stories,John W.Campbell would have printed in ANALOG magazine when he was edited.True sci-do with all the elements needed,aliens-good and bad, engaging hero and ,of course a "heroine".I think the SETH/KHOE dyad works because of his curiosity and compassion;the DEVE/LEO says is not a true symbiosis.Leo is definitely the one in control. As for the love scenes just remember, science tells us emotion and feelings are really all in our minds..

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and let me tell you, pure gold if you like sci-fi. The author writes the first book in an offshoot of her Targon Tales. It opens with a real barn burner. Sethran is headed in to make a payday when things go badly wrong. He wakes briefly to find himself far off course of where he expected to be when coming out of subspace and just when he begins to get a handle on things, he is put back to sleep. From first contact to a race to save alien sentience from the greed of both the Rebels and Air Command. He will never be the same after the adventures in this episode and you will never think about imaginary friends the same again! Expect to laugh a lot, and run the gamut from happy and sad, to angry.

I genuinely enjoyed getting to see more of Nova's old flame, Sethran. He is far more complicated than a double agent, tough as nails yet has a softer side that you finally get to see with a clarity that will startle you. A hardened man who makes a Delphian friend of Caelyn, the one Delphian that is impulsive and demonstrates a flexibility and maturity that only comes with time and experience. Well worth your time to read and enjoy. For the Nova fans, fair warning, she isn't in this one, nor are any of her offspring.

Quantum Tangle focuses not only on the roguish Sethran, but on Khoe. I already loved Seth going in, but Khoe was a pleasant surprise. She's clever and capable yet still undeniably sweet. Her only problem? She comes from subspace and moved into Seth' head without bothering to ask permission first. Not that he wound up minding.

This is part of the Targon series, but stands alone beautifully. While I have read all of the other books, I don't think that one would have to have read them to enjoy this one.

DISCLAIMER: Didn't buy it
WHY NOT? The Look Inside peek convinced me this book is sorely in need of an editor.
PLEASE EXPLAIN: ok, look; in just the second paragraph our hero "felt his brow furrow" - I nearly spit my coffee over the computer as I tried to imagine him running his fingers over his forehead feeling around anxiously for that furrow (where was it again? did he leave it in the usual place?). Next sentence "his violet eyes shifted" - this is simply juvenile writing. Who thinks about their own eye color in the midst of a potential crisis?
You need more? In the very first sentence, our hero is wondering what time of day it is. Within 2 paragraphs, he's thinking he has an emergency of unknown cause, doesn't know where he is, doesn't know when he is. Within 3 paragraphs he's thinking only a few minutes have elapsed since his ship jumped. This is simply inconsistent with the setup so far. A good editor would have not let this book out in this sad shape.
I'm going to pass and hope the author finds an editor.

This story was better than expected with a twist. It's the usual space privateer story. The good guy is out to stop the bad guys. You know, the usual. The best parts of the story is the unexpected romance and the main characters aren't human. I really liked Seth and Khoe.It was over all a really good story. I'm glad I found it perusing the sci-fi section.

A particle from sub-space. A sentient living being. Seth finds Khoe in his mind. Khoe learns instantly by researching Seth's mind and Seth's stored documents and books. Khoe is able to unleash frightening energy through Khoe's interface with Seth's mind and body. A masterful sci-fi mystery evolves. You won't want to set down this story until you have completed all pages.

I liked this Story!!! Seth the owner and Pilot of the Flying Dutchman is a pirate or an agent, or a Smuggler. No one is really sure. On a Subspace run he picks up an alien who has a problem. Someone is stealing her "People". "Kohe" becomes part of Seth's brain and Him. To tell you anymore would Spoil the Story for you, so I will allow you to read this book and enjoy the Journey. A very Good Read!! I Highly Recommend it! Santa Mike

A fascinating story of symbiotic relationship. Aspects of their being together got them into trouble, and their combined skills help them evade pursuit. But more was at stake than the fun and complexities of their unique situation.
