Here is the beginning of what is shaping up to be a great Trilogy. The characters are very believable and endearing. The story quickly pulls you in as you seek to discover the secret that quickly develops in the story. Looking forward to following following the plot through all 3 books!

This story had such great potential and definitely kept me interested, however the characters were poorly developed and needed more emotional structure. There are a couple of grammar mistakes as well. With more thought, effort, and defining themes, this story could be awesome.

I started reading the book and had the idea where it was going. The story is very familiar to scifi readers or movie-goers: the young protagonist of a dystopia society enters a world not as it seems. As I dreadrd going down the road before me, I found I enjoyed what I was reading. The story has it's unique points, the writing is good, but mostly I want to see where the journey is taking me.
There is no conclusion at the end of this novel, but I do not care as I want to start book 2 asap.
Landfall: The Ship Series // Book One :: The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Vol. 1 :: Eight Novels of Deep Space Adventure - Galactic Empires :: (First Conquest) (Stellar Conquest Series Book 1) :: Quantum Tangle (Targon Tales - Sethran Book 1)

I thought this was a really good intro to a new series/saga. I really like the premise, intriguing, and the author develops the characters well. Thank you very much for the free peek at the series from book one, purchasing book to right now!

This is a fast paced book with interesting twists and turns. Very enjoyable read for Sci Fi fans and sleuthy individuals. Not much Romance in this book but maybe the sequels will contribute.
A Google read.

I was hooked by the end of the first chapter. I wanted Sue to succeed for her family . Dave was interesting because I was not sure what his part was and I loved the mystery of Mark. Cannot wait for the next book to see where they end up.

Oh please... be different, be creative!

This plot is an old worn out trope. It's just plain cheesy & hackneyed.

I see virtually no difference between this novel/series & the one called Dawn Omnibus. Sure, they differ in minor details... but the plot is the same...

I'm giving up on indie writers. The vast majority of them are not worthy of the time spent reading any of their dreck. If it's not editorial gaffs, then it's a lack of originality.

I bet this trope comes from "No Plot? No problem!"... pathetic...

First let me say that I don't give 5 star ratings except for fine literature, such as "The Grapes of Wrath". That being said, I would rate this book a 4.25. The pace is fast, the characters are well sketched out and I found myself involved in this tale from the middle of the first chapter. I immediately bought the second installment of the series. This author has a real gift for storytelling. I would compare her with Heinlein ,Pohl and Brooks.

Just be aware this is what will soon become a standard with APs on the store.. It's a teaser book.
Just enough to setup the plot and characters.. Set the mood if you will, but nothing of substance...

Tune in next time to see what happens to our plucky duo as they match wits with the evil overlords from space etc etc.

I was really drawn into this story. It did take a few pages for the background story to develop enough so I could grasp what kind of happened, but was really worth the read. And everything comes together towards the end...then the twist! Awesome!

A gritty post-apocalyptic story, which follows three very interesting characters. But it doesn't feel like a complete story. Of course, it's part of a series. So you probably would want to commit to reading the whole series.
A more complete novel would be Cognition Chronicles: The Redstone Legacy

I very rarely comment in the ratings. But felt compelled to do so on Rift.

I really enjoyed the Exodus trilogy. When I saw Rift, I was pleased to see he kept the story moving but on the other side of the universe.

Good storyline, and playing out just like you would think given the human propensity to take advantage of others.

I hate buying books, when there are so many good free ones available, but will be purchasing the Rift saga!

At first this seemed like a copy cat story, but before long it began to take on a life of its own. It ended up that I enjoyed this book quite a lot, although since it turns out to be the beginning of a series of books, I was disappointed. I'm not certain that I'll pay for the second book.

The Rift is a great read... especially if you like "controlled" societies wherein the "citizens" suffer so that the "leaders" (saviors?) can "lead" a life of... comfort, luxury and... contempt. Reading this gave me chills at how closely it "mirrors" our own societies. Time to remind ourselves that "bliss is ignorance". Time to "wake up !

Another great novel from Andreas! This is the first of a trilogy and I can't wait for the 2nd of 3. It takes a chapter or 2 to understand what is happening. The terms take awhile to figure out but I believe that was what the author had intended. The concept is familiar with other futuristic books but there is enough new to keep you wondering. I recommend it!
