Discovered Kyra's books a few years ago. I try looking at and using other animal trick books, but none compare after using hers. Pictures are great and the tips for problems one comes across are always helpful

Its a great lust of tricks (and manners) that you can teach your puppy. The instructions are clear and easy yo follow and some if the likely problems you might face when teaching the task are outlines in the troubleshooting section,
I bought the book mostly to get more ideas for new tricks i could plan to teach my puppy -glad i bought ut -cuz there are bith several "new ideas" for me to try and a couple "oh yea!" That i remember from long ago when i had my last puppy
Good book!

A lot of what this book covers is more what I would call basic obedience, but there are some fun tricks. Where this book shines if with the full color pictures breaking down how to teach the tricks. It's not a substitue for a class with a trainer, but I like to use it as a reference for a different approach when what I'm doing isn't working for my puppy.

I have been training dogs for many many years for fun and competition. I really like this book for its simplicity and quality of the tricks. The tricks are shown step by step, with pictures of the trick and the hand signal. If you are patient and consistent your puppy can learn these tricks. All my dogs love to show off and this gives me more tricks that I had not taught yet.

Fun and easy to follow to teach your pup lots of cool tricks and also helps you to bond with your dog. My little girl, Margo, has mastered half the book already! My only complaint is that it would be nice to have additional troubleshooting options. The ones that are already in there are usually helpful, but only address one particular problem with one particular solution. And I've encountered other issues that aren't addressed in the book.

I love the tips for training puppies. I didn't know, for example, that puppies' eyesight doesn't fully develop until 9 months. I am getting great, effective use out of following Kyra's puppy training tricks, and at 6 months old my puppy now knows over 10 tricks due to following her suggestion of training frequently for short periods of time. If you take her tips to heart I think you'll find them very effective for dog training.

I was a little disappointed not to see any variations of some of the easiest tricks to teach your puppy, however. Beg, for example, is one I would expect to see since it's the second trick I taught my dog and it wasn't there. Overall, a very helpful book. If you're looking for advice on training a puppy, I'd start with this book even though it comes with fewer tricks. The advice definitely makes up for buying a second book for more tricks later.

This book led my new puppy to greatness! :) I never owned a dog before and the first month and a half I owned her, we moved away from everybody we knew that could help us. So, I bought this book and just started working our way through it, trick by trick. This book gave us specific things to work on and was motivating & fun to train every day! Because of this book, my puppy achieved her Champion Trick Dog title when she was only 7 months old. Teaching her tricks at such a young age also helped us create a bond and taught her "how to learn" which made learning agility & other dog sports very easy later on (she is now almost 2 years old) I would HIGHLY recommend this book for EVERYBODY with a new puppy. Tricks are an amazing way to bond with your dog and teach them how to learn new behaviors!

The one "critique" that I have is that I do not necessarily like the kindle version (which is the version I bought because I was travelling around). It doesn't work on the original kindle because of the pictures and diagrams and these types of books are hard to navigate. I ended up just using the book on my laptop.

***One of my favorite parts of this book are the very cute "puppy" comments that anybody with a pup can relate to and laugh at!! :) ***

I bought this book for my son who is getting a puppy. I looked thru it and just loved it. Love that it gives you a rating on how easy or difficult the "trick" is, and that some build on a prior trick. I can't wait to see how he does with it. I plan on getting a puppy in the not to distant future and told him he has to let me borrow it then.

Nothing special about this book, but cute puppies doing
tricks that you might want your pup to do. Even if the instructions for a human are hard to
understand. Open book, try an read- Ah?! Woof...- Good luck BB & CC

Wonderful! Not just for pups, but for all your doggys! Great, easy to follow step by step instructions WITH step by step color PHOTOS to show you each task and/or trick taught in this book. A very very low price for all you get. I will use it even teach my service dog some useful tasks that I need help with. Oh... and a few to impress the friends! Kids and adults could use this book to work with their doggys. Great for clicker training, giving hand signals... they've included it all in this book. I am soooooo glad I got this helpful book!

I'm so glad I bought this book. It may well be a section of a previous book, as another reviewer complains, but this is an advantage rather than a drawback, as if you are training a puppy you can work your way through all of these tricks in sequence, with a goal of finishing the book in sight. If you're training a puppy, you don't want difficult tricks meant for adult dogs cluttering up your schedule and making you feel overwhelmed. Also, the detail this book goes into for each trick, with step by step photos means the author has more space to be detailed and specific - a big bonus for first time puppy trainers.

I will buy the book for older dogs when my dog is an adult, but for now this book is perfect. I have a set amount of tricks, a plan to build on them each day and an end in sight. A brilliant book.

My puppy and I have been having to much fun using this book. Kyra has an extremely positive training approach which is fun for me and my pup. Many of the tricks are really important behaviors to teach your dog, such as sit, come, walk on a loose leash, leave it and so on. But yes, there are tricks such as shake hands, hide your eyes, sing ... I like the step by step instructions, as well as the "what to expect," tips, and troubleshooting. My pup is only 13 weeks old and has learned many of the 51 tricks. I've had at least four people ask me if I'm a professional dog trainer as they watch me work with my puppy. I will be buying other books by Kyra Sundance - she's very good!

Very simple to understand & lots of explanatory pictures that help with learning. I have not read every trick yet but have gone through quite a few and am using this book to teach my Havanese tricks. This is a book I would recommend to friends.

This book is laid out very well and explains the tricks clearly. Anyone in your household will be able to teach the dog new tricks with the use of this book and a bit of patience. It's a good way to mentally stimulate your dog.
