If you read my review before reading the book let it be known there is spoilers. I love to read books and this is one book that touched my heart and soul the most. There has only been 2 authors that have written books that have made me cry. Amy this is one book that I cried several times while reading. Mattie's loss of Jacob brought back memories of when my son Alexander was stillborn. I had the same feeling that Mattie did and blamed myself. Just like Mattie's son having the cord wrapped around his neck, my son had his cord around his neck. I know that most don't talk about stillbirths or miscarriages so I am please that you included this in one of your books. I cried for Leroy because of the love he had for Mattie but she kept pushing him away. The only thing that helped with my loss was reading the Bible. Not a day goes by that I don't feel a piece of my heart is missing.
Throughout the book you will understand what each of the daughters received to help with their relationship because it helped Mattie.

Amy thank you once again for the wonderful story.

This was the final book in the Amish Heirloom Series - each book can be read as a stand alone but to tie the pieces together you will want to read The Forgotten Recipe, The Courtship Basket , and the Cherished Quilt before you embark on Mattie's story. Mattie's story ties the other three books together with a nice little bow to be placed in a Hope Chest. For Mattie and her daughters is has held treasures from the past and secrets that are meant to be shared. There is heartache and joy in each chapter as you learn the tragedy and heartbreak the family has endured and the Faith that keeps them together as a family. This is an emotional book to read as it ties all the stories together and you feel the love and caring that Mattie has for every story, treasure, keepsake, and family history contained in The Beloved Hope Chest. I read this book as an ARC from the author and have given my honest review of the book

Fans of Amy Clipston’s Amish Heirloom series should be sure to read this concluding novel, The Beloved Hope Chest. Sharing the truth behind the marriage of Mattie and Leroy, Clipston finally provides answers to questions sparked in the previous three books—secrets get revealed, the mystery gets resolved. And of course, with these answers, she provides a wonderful story for two important members of the beloved Fisher family. I loved discovering the story of Mattie and Leroy and found it wholly satisfying with its heartache and hope. Readers of Amish fiction, The Beloved Hope Chest will not be disappointed (especially if you’ve enjoyed the series from the start).

Thanks to Celebrate Lit, I received a complimentary copy of The Beloved Hope Chest and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.

I have had the [privilege to read all of the books in this series. However, in each book a little mystery and questions remained. I love how this last book pulls all of the parts together. It is a book of finding love and forgiveness. It is finding one's path in the crazy world God has given us.

Mattie has a past with secrets that could either pull her family together or destroy the love they feel for one another. She is afraid to dredge up the long help memories and secrets. With each of her daughters, Mattie was able to relate and help them through their problems. Will they support her the same? Will they understand why she held onto this mystery for so long?

Each of the books could be read alone but for a really great weekend, take the time to read them in order. I received a copy though Netgalley. I wrote the review because I enjoyed the book.

Read this book in one day that's how good it was. It was unlike any other Amish fiction book I've read. The story hooked me from the first chapter. It started in present day and then went back to tell the story of the items in the hope chest. It wasn't all roses and nice. There were challenges and disagreements and hardship. But the love story was beautiful and real. I love when Amish stories show women who think for themselves and don't go along with the flow just because. Those stories seem fake. This story was not one of those. The man male character also surprised me. The characters were beautifully portrayed and developed even in their hard moments. I loved this story. One of my favorite Amish books I've ever read.
I received a digital copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

This story is bookended by scenes in the present with Mattie Fisher and her grown daughters, but the main part of the novel tells the story of Mattie’s first love and loss. Even if you haven’t read the other books in this series, this story stands complete and grips the heart. The characters and their dilemmas seem so real. The title comes from the hope chest where Mattie’s daughters discovered objects related to her secrets from the past. Now is finally the time for her to share her tale of sorrow and love. This book closes the Amish Heirloom series but could be used as an introduction to it also. The author uses lots of Pennsylvania Dutch words, which make their conversations realistic, and a glossary is provided in the front. This bittersweet tale leaves a warm feeling inside at its conclusion. I received the book from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

I was caught up in this book right away, and the story kept my interest until the final page turn. The characters were well-drawn, and the plot moved along well, but the outstanding thing about this book was the emotion. I was so very caught up in the emotions of the characters, be it grief, uncertainty, fear, and so much more. I think the thing that hurt the most, though, was that because of the circumstances they were in, Mattie and Leroy lost the camaraderie that they had enjoyed for years.

The fact that this book was the last of the Amish Heirloom series did not interfere with my enjoyment of the book at all. It stands entirely on its own. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to fans of Amish fiction.
I received an ARC of this book from the author/publisher, through Celebrate Lit, for review purposes. The thoughts expressed here are my own.

This is a wonderful wrap-up to this series. I've been curious about Mattie's story since we started getting clues about it in the other books. Reading what she and Leroy went through at the beginning of their marriage, and the journey to make things right, is very emotional--so make sure you have your tissues handy as you read.

I have to admit to getting frustrated with Mattie's actions more than once, but her grieving is just that, her grieving....we all handle it differently, and we can't know how we would react to losing not just one, but two people who meant the world to us in such a short time.

Leroy is strong, loving and compassionate, and he goes beyond the call of duty with his attempts to reach Mattie's heart through her grief and depression.

This book and this entire series reinforce my love of Amy Clipston's writing.

I can't say how much I loved this book! As a huge fan of Amish fiction, this one did not disappoint. It is the fourth in a series, but it works as a stand-alone.
The story begins when Mattie decides to tell her grown daughters an explanation of some items they had found earlier in her hope chest. Mattie is finally ready to share the story of the items with her daughters. They are surprised to learn that their mother didn't always love their dad as well as that she had been previously married and lost her husband early in the marriage. She was also pregnant at the time of his death.
This is a story of heartache, heart break, deep grief, love, devotion, patience, second chances and faith. A very touching story.
I was given an ecopy of this book to read by the publisher, Zondervan, and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I just love Amy Clipston's books, and this is one of my favorites. I had not read any of the other 3 books in this series before reading this book, but I couldn't tell. Although I did not have the background and stories of the other books, this one was easy to jump right in to. It read well as a stand-alone book.

I loved the story as Mattie took us on a trip down memory lane, highlighting and explaining items her daughters had found in her hope chest. The story of how she married their father, the circumstances surrounding the marriage, and the struggle to keep it together in the early days. I enjoyed reading this story of hope, redemption and unconditional love.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are my own.

In The Beloved Hope Chest we revisit the Fisher family. The daughters search for the answer to the secret their mother is hiding but is it worth pursuing? The secret involves pain as they learn that their family isn’t what they thought. Will Mattie be able to finally let go of the past? As the story unfolds, so does the theme of grace, love, and forgiveness. Join other readers one last time for an emotional, love filled journey with the Fisher family.

I loved the very real characters in this book! Clipston does a great job of pulling you into their lives; their hurts and hopes. I was sorry when it ended because I know it's the end of a wonderful series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

Amy Clipston reminds us that hope is always there in the midst of unimaginable grief. The setting and Amish background were so charming. The characters were endearing, and the interaction was easily visualized in my mind. This was not your typical Amish fiction. It was a story of hope among ashes. A reminder that no situation is ever hopeless, and that our circumstances do not define who we are. I was reminded of the faithfulness and love of God and His perfect plan! The true love story of patient and understanding love is one that is sure to warm your heart and awaken your emotions! Any Christian fiction lovers will love this read!

I received this book for free and all opinions given are my own.

I enjoyed reading the wrap up to the "An Amish Heirloom Novel" series. I found it interesting to see the start of Mattie and Leroy's relationship. It was nice to see the tie ins with the rest of the books in the series and how Mattie and Leroy were able to relate to their daughters in their problems because of what they went through. The Biblical principles woven through the book were nice. I will be sad to not be able to visit the Fisher family anymore, but look forward to reading other books by Amy Clipston.

I got a free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and given voluntarily. No compensation was received.

I ADORE this book! I only recently discovered Amy Clipston, and this is the first book of hers that I have read. "The Beloved Hope Chest" is the 4th book of the Amish Heirloom series, but it works beautifully as a stand-alone. (I fell head-over-heels for the characters, so have already purchased Book 1!) I love the way that Amy Clipston writes, and how she fleshes the characters out. The whole book has a Janette Oke feel to it; a beautiful story, relatable and complex characters, all of which points to God and our faith in Him. I can't wait to add all of Amy's books to my book shelf!!

I would recommend reading the first three books in the series before reading this one because they all build on each other. This was the story that finally answered all the questions we have had throughout the previous 3 books of this series. This is a very emotional and heart rendering story of all the heartache one woman has to endure and we learn she must rely on God to help her through. If you like Amish Fiction, then I definitely recommend you read this book.

The Beloved Hope Chest by Amy Clipston is the 4th in the Amish Heirloom series. The first three tell the stories of Mattie Fisher's three daughters as they face life as adults. As they find items in Mattie's hope chest, they discover their mother has been keeping a secret from this. This book is Mattie's story as told to her daughters. It is a story of grief, depression and a I Corinthians 13 type of love that offers her a second chance. It is an easy read, and a sweet story. I would suggest that you read the four books in order. Things will make more sense if you do.

Loved this story. This is the fourth book in the Amish Heirloom series. The first three books are about Mattie Fisher's three daughters and their courtships and marriages. This book is how Mattie fell in love with her husband and almost left him. You do not need to read the first three books to so enjoy this story. This is more of a prequel to the others of the series. Everyone in this story learns mantra lessons. I laughed and cried throughout this book. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

The Beloved Hope Chest is the culmination to the Amish Heirloom series by Amy Clipston. The series follows the Fishers, an Amish family living in Pennsylvania. The first three novels focused on each of the sisters. The Beloved Hope Chest tells the tale of the sisters' mother's history and secrets, which the previous books in the series eluded to. Readers learn how the girls' parents came together and formed their family. In traditional Amy Clipston fashion this story will not disappoint fans and will create fans from first readers.

The Beloved Hope Chest is a heartwarming book that addresses love, loss and how individuals react to facing tragedies in their own ways. After suffering through not one, but two, life changing losses, Mattie Fisher flees back to her safe place, her mom and dad's home. Mattie and Leroy Fisher process their grief and mesh of feelings the only way they can. Leroy continues to try to reconnect with Mattie through bringing her a basket with a homemade treats and his emotions described in thoughtful letters but Mattie is concerned that she cannot possibly be the person he needs her to be after suffering through the losses. They find comfort in turning their troubles to God and praying for the guidance they are searching for but will it be enough and in time to salvage their marriage? A must read for fans of romance and Amish stories.

I was given this book in return for an honest review.

I've been waiting for Mattie's story since the beginning of this series, since hints kept coming during her daughter's stories and I became more and more intrigued. This is the best of the series (which is saying a lot) and I am so sorry to see it end, although it has been a wonderful, hopeful ride. There is a lot of angst and emotion, but without that, the joy wouldn't be as intense when everything works out for the best, with Mattie and Leroy's family as living proof.

Oh what a tearjerker Amy has written this time. I had to make myself put it down at times, read LATE into the night so I could finish it today. This has been a very touching series. How many times have we blamed ourselves for things that happened but we know in our hearts we could not do anything different to change the outcome? Our lives are in God's hands, he will test us but he will see us through, if we can just hear him and follow where he leads us.

Amy takes you through such a roller coaster and you will be able to relate to not always trusting God's plan, and being able to heal through him. You will love this book, and this series, I promise you that. Such high praises for Amy Clipston!!

I really enjoyed The Beloved Hope Chest by Amy Clipston. The characters were well-rounded and thrown into a difficult situation. You could feel Mattie’s grief at the passing of her newborn. And as time went on, you could see her starting to love again like the petals of a flower opening to bloom. And, Leroy was so patient and loving and kept his eyes focused on the prize and not the short-term.

The Beloved Hope Chest brings to life the experiences that Mattie Fisher went through early in her adult life. The events in her life prepared her to be able to be there and assist her daughters, as they went though struggles and challenges of their own. I appreciated the way Amy Clipston ended the series by tying together all the items that Mattie's daughters had found in the hope chest.
