This book is quite the psychological thriller. It didn't pull me in as early as other books written by David Beers, but once it got going I was hooked. The characters really get in your head. Even though John is seriously disturbed, he still manages to come off as relatable. Does that make me sound like a serial killer?
Generally I like how descriptive David's writing is. He has a way of painting a scene to fully immerse you in the experience or emotion. That being said, I thought the writing in this book was clunky at times, but overall I like this book and I recommend it.

I loved this book!! It was definitely one I couldn't put down and if I had to for some reason as soon as I was done I was right back to reading. When I got to the end and screamed "NO" because it couldn't end right there!! I can't wait for the next book to come out!! I would highly recommend this book and reading his other books if you haven't!!

Very good book. Couldn’t stop reading it. Purchased books two and three immediately upon completion of the previous book. Referred Red Rain to a friend who has already downloaded part one to her Kindle.

Let me start by stating that I do not like serial novels (cliffhangers) nor do I generally read the "thriller" genre. That being said, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good read.
The chacters are well developed and believable. The story appears predictable at times but then you begin to question your initial ideas as to the outcome. All characteristics of a well written book
I have read other books by David Beers and have generally liked them. This book is no exception and appears to be an excellent start to a new series.

A fascinating story and intriguing way to portray the split personality of a psychopath. It's a hard book to put down as you can't wait to find out what happens next. Fast pace and the end will leave you ready for more.

Not as gory as some of his other novels but just as twisted!
It took me longer to get into the story compared to Beer's other novels (although still only a few pages) but once I got past them I was hooked. Interesting characters and plot lines although slightly undeveloped. I'm positive that they will flesh out in the next book and their idiosyncrasies will become part of their character and more genuine.
It felt short, I guess good or bad depending on the reader, I would have liked longer. I was distracted from the cliffhanger by the length which felt abrupt.
I am intrigued to carry on the series to see what direction they take, overall enjoyed reading it.
