Love it. I work with children in my church and I think that the precepts will be a resource for conversations about kindness, courage, love and friendship. Absolutely wonderful book. I bought four copies to give to friends!

Beautiful words to live by! So inspiring to my students and me. I loved getting to know Mr. Browne and some of the other students a little better. And we finally figure out who reported Julian to Mr. Tushman!

Taking the precepts from all four of the Wonder books, adding new precepts from well-known people and fans of the books and arranging them into monthly, day by day themes, with a monthly introduction by the very wise Mr. Browne, adds up to a thought provoking book for children and adults alike. I read this after reading all the other Wonder books first and found the added background stories enhanced all the other books. Lessons on kindness and acceptance abound, being reminded that there are at least two sides to every story well proven and remembering that until you have walked in another's shoes you really won't truly understand why the other person acts or reacts the way they do is priceless.

So many times, I'm disheartened at the end of a book because my life with the characters is over. I spend time thinking about them, worrying about them, even though I know they are fictional...
Loved that this book continued the story of Wonder and gave the background for the precepts. Loved how Mr. Browne also gave the short stories to illustrate the precepts! Quick read! 365 valuable words to live by!

Loved "Wonder". Love this too! It has a precept/quote per day, but with brief comments at the end of each month. I encourage teachers to read "Wonder" aloud to their students, this book keeps the momentum going I. The school environment. Haven't been this inspired since I read "Pay It Forward" many years ago! A must have companion book!

It is not often that I am turned on to a book by a student. Right before break a student came to me excited. He had seen a book that came after "Wonder" in a bookstore. The only book I could think of was "The Julian Chapter". I kept trying to explain that it was only an ebook. He insised he had seen it in a bookstore. So I did what I do daily, I went to the store and typed int he author's name. Imagine my surprise when he yelled, "That's it!" He pointed to the 365 Days of Wonder. Then he asked the most powerful question a student could ask, "Do you have it on your shelves?" I purchased it while he watched. I told him it would come in over our break and he was first on the list to read it, which quickly grew. When the book came in I thought I would just look it over. It quickly became obvious that I had to read the entire book. As always, I read the ones that fell on my birthday and the birthday of family members. One thing I like the most is Mr. Browne's thoughts at the beginning of each month. I will encourage my students to read the as well. Many will see the short quotes and want to read only that. They must know that there is so much to learn from what Mr. Browne has to say before each month's pecepts. I really enjoyed reading and reflecting on these. I have marked several of them to use as a bell starter for my students. It has encouraged me to find more of these. This is a must have companion to the book "Wonder".

365 Days of Wonder by R.J. Palacio
This is a companion book to Wonder, which I loved. This book has a precept for each day of the year. Additionally, there are emails and letters and postcards from Mr. Browne's former students (who were characters in the book Wonder)...this would make a great gift book for those in education. It shows the effect that educators can have on students, even if they don't know it at the time.

wonderful book with inspiring poems that children can apply in their daily task and encounters with people of different walks in the world. Unique and special folow up to the first book Wonder. If only teachers taught with such compassion and talent taught life lessons as this author did, the world-our future leaders would be absolutely AMAZING!!!!!

Don't buy it there isn't anything to read about, just quotes. You can search Google if you want quotes- there were quote written by kid's. Not even good. Sorry if you like this. But I just don't. Go buy wonder instead it's way better.

This is definitely a book I'll find myself going to time after time for the rest of my life. The precepts that are included in this book are wonderful and uplifting and show how positive the human spirit can be.
While not an actual story, there are pieces of information and peeks into the Wonder world at the beginning of most months. We get to see a bit more of some of the characters, including Auggie, when they correspond with Mr. Browne. I like that this was added, though I would probably have liked the book just as much had it just been the daily precepts.
I considered trying to save them and read one each day as was suggested in the beginning of the book, but found myself unable to wait. Now that I've read the whole book, however, I find that I want to keep it nearby for when I'm having a particularly sad or challenging day, to flip through and find a precept that makes me look at life in a brighter way.
This is a book that I think would be beneficial to have in every home, just for the option of looking through and seeing all the positive messages and thoughts about kindness.

"365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne's Precepts ..." is a true pleasure especially during the post modern times and its news cycle. Unlike the old school wall calendars with daily quotes, R.J. Palacio has made a fascinating selection here. There is a fun quote for any day of the year to cheer you up paired with drawings. I actually purchased multiple copies, in order to gift some during Post THE MANHATTAN DATING PROJECT meetings & for people who need inspiration & care. Truly uplifting. Chapeau! #Zeitgeist.

Apparently I have been living under a rock, and did not realize this book was out until last week. Last week I was traveling back to the states from Spain, and had a lay over in Madrid. While there I visited a book store at the airport, and immediately picked this book up. I love sayings, and I love books full of sayings. This book has become one of my favorites.
This book is one that is full of inspirational and uplifting sayings from various historical figures, as well as shared letters and emails from the author. This is a book that can be easily be read in one sitting, or if you're on 9 hour plane right like I was, it can quickly be devoured then. Most importantly, this is a book written to give inspiration to and uplift it's reader each day of the year. Each quoted page has date featuring the month and the day of the month, so that readers can easily find the day's quote.
The thing I love about this book, is that it's a book for kids, tweens, teens and adults. There is something for everyone in this book. It's one I highly recommend picking up, if you haven't already.

Wonder is a book that swept through my school, passed from child to child, in 2012. In this new book, we hear directly from Auggie's teacher, Mr. Browne. Throughout Wonder, Mr. Browne shared precepts, or "words to live by," as he explains to his students. In this collection, Mr. Browne shares 365 precepts -- gatherings of quotes by philosophers, song writers, politicians, fictional characters, and students across the nation. And the results are a book I want to keep with me and share with students for a long time to come.
I know my students and my teachers will love turning to this again and again. I hope they will be able to turn the pages, find nuggets that stay with them, settle in their hearts and send ripples out into their souls.

I bought this for the kiddo. She read the other books, and LOVED the stories. Trying to instill a love of reading of books with chapters, I was happy to buy this book immediately at the kiddo's request. We were a little disappointed that it was not stories. I guess we should have read the description a bit closer. We kept the book anyway, thinking she would flip through the precepts as intended. She's barely picked it up. So, I really want to give it a 3 for overall experience, and giving it an extra star up from there because I didn't read the description very closely before ordering.

This is collection of precepts that were put together and most of them are very inspirational. The author cites the origin of the precepts, indicating its author and technically those precepts should be a collection received by a teacher named Mr. Browne from his students, as per his request as an assignment. The interesting fact is that after the school year was done, the students still kept sending precepts to Mr. Browne for years after leaving school. And the author shows in this new book some interaction between Mr. Browne and other students, showing how much he cares for them.
This is a very well written book, excellent idea e very inspirational. I recommend this book to the permanent library of any reader who wants to spend some quality time with a nice reading material. They will not be disappointed.

Whether or not you've seen the movie, if you like daily quotations or inspirations, you will love these precepts, one for every day of the year. Most are based on kindness, especially necessary for the middle school student. I'm buying this book for the second time as a gift to a middle-schooler. May he keep it on his shelf for many years and refer to it again and again.

I didn't read this as a daily book, but instead read it all in one day. It had so many inspirational quotes and I loved how each month had a section that pertained to the book Wonder and to the stories in Auggie and Me. It still had the amazing Wonder Feel to It and it felt like Mr. Browne was reading to me when i was reading his monthly stories. It's well worth the read.

I really like all of the wonder books but I didn't get this one because I knew that it would be a bunch of mr.Brownes precepts ( I don't really enjoy that kind of stuff). some people are mad because it's not a novel. READ! It says right on the book that it's a bunch of precepts. I thought that you could read. I am only 11 and I saw that clearly. I mean the book is called 365 days of wonder. what did you expect?!? all in all I think that this would be a great read if you enjoy wonder and all of the precepts. thank you

I bought this book for my daughter who is a fan of R. J. Palacio.
So I was having one of those days at work (really bad day). I came home with a huge headache & in a very bad mood. I was sitting on the sofa feeling miserable, & I noticed this book next to me. I grabbed it & started reading it. After reading a few pages, I realized I wasn't feeling miserable. I started making dinner & thought about the words from this book. Even my headache went away. This book turned my day around & I'm thankful.

My son and I read each day to start our days off right. As we move forward in one of the lowest behaving cultures we have had in years, it's important to teach him that in our house - that behavior is unacceptable - we start the day off with kindness and wonder and understanding.

It seems as if Palacio can't write a bad book! At the end of Wonder, there were so many backstories that could enrich my understanding, but this one was probably my favorite add on. It answered many questions about Auggie's powerful story and the precepts are great things to think about. I suggest that Palacio writes a book about August's 6th grade life, as it mentions in this book. Overall, interesting read.

Mr. Palachio is a teacher and he must be a fine one at that. I also taught, mostly elementary and, after reading this book I wish I could go back to those children and add some of the wisdom (and fun) in this book. It appears that he has begun with famous quotes and then added those of his students.
I ordered it for my grandchildren but had to have it for myself. I suggest that this is a book for all ages and suggest discussion will bring many interesting thoughts from all ages...a remarkable book from a special teacher.

The simple things in life can be profound - this book is a gift to me as an educator who loves to read inspirational materials and an introduction to the meaning of life for my students. This book marries the old and the new and becomes this timeless hybrid between non-fiction and fiction. A great relationship building resource to get to know ourselves and our students and lead them into meaningful conversations that help them practice inferring. Every library should have multiple copies of this treasure.

My son and I are reading this every night. It really makes us think. We love it. Each day is a quote that encourages love, kindness, friendship, belief in oneself, embracing each other's differences. My son is ten. We both highly recommend this book.

I only rated it this much because only then woud it grab your attention, Wonder-heads. It is not a great book, as many of you may say. It is not boring either. This book has been made for peopple who need a jerk in their lives( jerk as in the motion), and others who just like quotes. I am writing this review based on other reviews, not because I may or may not have read the book. I am jist sharing my honest opinion after reading all the other reviews(ALL the reviews). I hoppe this review reached you in the best of spirits, dear reader.
