I can't believe I didn't read this book sooner than at the age of 28!! Mr. Angone has really honed in on what it is to be in your 20's and actually living or the feeling that you aren't living at all. Mr Angone has so many golden nuggets in this book that it is hard to mention JUST ONE. This is a book that I will be referencing for a while, but also a book that I will give to all high school graduates. He is very honest and transparent throughout this book and his life experiences truly navigate you through your twenties as he breathes life into time of confusion for many millennials. Thank you Mr. Angone for your willingness to follow your dreams and share them with us all !!

I don’t know where to start except how amazing I feel after this read. I so needed this encouragement, laughter, and advice. Everyone in their twenties should read this book!!! The author is incredible. He is so real and down to earth. He even personally reaches out to you on social media if you tag him. Seriously the best purchase I have ever made!!! And I just bought 101 questions to ask in your questions; looking forward to reading that next.
10/10 an amazing read !!!!!!

Paul Angone has given us exactly what we've been looking for - 101 Secrets For Your Twenties. Out of all the books out there that discuss "emerging adulthood," "life after college," or any other millennial catch-phrase, this one is the funniest, most relatable of them all.

Why?

Because Paul has explained perfectly what every single one of us thinks in our heads at least 10 times per day. Everything you've gone through or are currently going through is explained in this book. It's not self-help. It's from one heart to another saying "You are not alone."

Considering I just ended my last year in my twenties this year, I can say that I was able to LOL and OMG my way through this book, reminiscing and relating left and right.

Your 20s are a learning experience. But it's also important to laugh too. Have fun. Live life. Don't worry. It's all going to work out.

The best thing about this book is when I realized that I'm not alone (Secret 32). I'm not alone in my lousy job, frustration, disappointment, confusion and insecurity. I'm not alone feeling as if my dream is so far from coming true. But this book didn't gloss over or skirt around the truth. It's real and relatable, and proclaims truths which may be hard to swallow (like 73). However it's what I need. It's what most twenty-somethings need. Oh so desperately.
If you're a twenty-something, this book has something for you. It addresses work, love, dating, marriage, relationships, friendships, faith, passion, emotional, financial, and physical health, goals, etc. The advice is concise, and comes from someone who (you can just tell) has been there, done that. Paul's voice is clear and friendly, as if he's sitting next to me at a bar, telling me how it is in a straight forward yet encouraging tone.
There were so many connections and ah-ha moments for me, including but not limited to secrets 19, 29, 68, 69, 73, 86, 87. And as I read, I found secrets to share with my boyfriend (43, 96), my brothers (55, 87), high school friends (10, 66), co-workers (11, 45) cousins (15) and on and on.
Out of 101 secrets, there was only one that I'm in denial about (52) and that's just because I'm not a fan of wine. (I'm a mixed drinks kind of girl.) But even so that's a great percentage of relatablility. I can imagine that not every twenty-something could connect with every secret, but I'd bet everyone could find at least one (if not a dozen) that speak to their situation. There were even secrets that relate to writers like me. Secrets 4 and 21 had writer-specific inspiration, if not directly then in metaphor. Paul says "Don't cram your plotline into someone else's story!" (pg53) when urging twenty-somethings not to compare themselves to other possibly more successful (on the outside Facebook) friends.
This book isn't just a list of secrets that you chuckle at then set aside. It is an affirmation. It is a call to action. It's a reminder not to dismiss your 20s, but not to put them on a pedestal either. So many of the secrets aren't just oh-that-makes-sense moments, but they require contemplation. And so many beg to be applied to real life.
101 Secrets for your Twenties is a connection and a community. It makes life less lonely (as well as a great college graduation gift). It's something not to keep secret, but to share. To yell about from the top of a mountain (or here in Indiana, the top of a barely-there hill). It's something to tweet about, blog about and is worthy of a status update... or seven. It's just that good!

Seriously, right as the graduates walk across the stage to shake the provost's and university president's hands. "Here's your overly priced piece of paper and a little something that will actually help you navigate the next 10 years of your life."

I can't recommend this book enough - not just to 20-somethings, but everyone. This book is chock-full of brilliant advice, humor, and perspective about finding your way in the "real world" without reeling from the sheer amounts of confusion, awkwardness, and navel-gazing that inevitably comes with being a 20-something in early 21st century America.

The book is easy to pick up and difficult to put down as Paul's writing is full of whimsy and heart, and will literally make you laugh out loud on numerous occasions. And yet, while these secrets are undoubtedly universal among those of us in the millennial generation, Paul came by them honestly, picking them up like most of us have - by living through his 20s one painstakingly confusing and head-scratching day at a time.

If you are a 20-something, the friend of a 20-something, or relative of a 20-something, I suggest you buy them a copy, then buy a copy for yourself, too. It's so worth it.

I loved this book. As you'd guess, the book consists of 101 secrets to happiness and success in your 20s. The secrets range from a sentence to a short chapter and are true and funny.

Of course, there were some that resonated with me more than others. Not being a religious person, the secrets involving faith and God didn't apply to me, but I don't think they took away from the book at all -- and would probably add a lot if you're a spiritual person.

The book is smart, inspiring, witty, and fun to read. It'd be a perfect coffee table book. If you're reading this, howevs, I'm willing to bet that you don't own a coffee table. No worries; neither do I. Just keep this book in the pile of junk on the floor or on the back of your toilet, and you'll continue to learn and laugh every time you pick it up. It'd be an awesome gift for a graduating college student, or anyone who's hanging out in their parents' basement eating Cheetos. Just buy, learn, and enjoy!

If you're feeling a little lost in your twenties (and let's face it...who's not?), I'd encourage you to pick up a copy of 101 Secrets for Your Twenties.

Because Paul Angone tells it like it is in an easy-to-read, almost blog-like format. The book is broken into 101 chapters, some as short as one paragraph, others as long as three to four pages. Each chapter is a secret; a little life-lesson on how to get through your twenties.

From chapters on how to make friends in your twenties (harder than it sounds!) to the perils of dating (ugh) to adjusting our personal timelines (note to self: do this), Paul shares his wisdom in a matter-of-fact yet gentle big brother-esque way.

My only small complaint about the book is that at times, it became a little too religious for my taste and sometimes those references felt a little unnatural and out of place to me.

Overall, I flew through the book, highlighting favorite passages along the way to read again later. Highly recommend!

*I was part of the launch team for this book and was therefore given a free copy to review. All opinions are my own.

This is my new standard high school and college graduation gift. Every graduate, every twenty-something needs to read this book. As a new twenty-something, I would have LOVED to get such an amazing treasure, overflowing with gems of wisdom. 101 Secrets for your Twenties is a great tool to help twenty-somethings not feel so alone or lost on their journey through this decade. The secrets offer hope in knowing that you aren't alone and this isn't the end of the road. They serve as landmarks helping to guide you from growing to grown.

Paul's writing is witty and funny. You will literally laugh out loud. He is right on target with his messages, and so personable that you'll want to be his new best friend. I also appreciate that the book is laid out for easy reading. You'll love all 101 secrets in Paul's book. Each secret is either self-explanatory, or accompanied by a short anecdote or story to further illustrate his point. But, don't be fooled by its simple readability; it's pure genius, kindly laid out for us to make the hard lessons a little easier.

Don't brave your quarter-life crisis alone; bring along 101 Secrets for your Twenties.

I NEVER write reviews for anything, but for this book I absolutely have to. Every person in their twenties needs this kind of support. In an email I sent to Paul Angone (which he actually took time to respond to) you will realize why:
"Hi Paul,
I really hope I'm communicating with "the Paul Angone" and not a staffer or something... Either way, after your email on Saturday, I went through the website and read the excerpt of the book you sent and all of a sudden, I finally had hope. Hope that someone else out there might know exactly what I'm going through. OMG!!! I'm not alone!!! I had to buy the book yesterday. I literally couldn't put it down, despite all the reading I have to do for school.
Finally someone knew how it feels to walk around not knowing what the future holds. Finally someone understands the hate towards god for dealing you a rigged hand of cards. I loved every minute of reading your book. At times, I was laughing. Other times, the realities were hard to face. I've never been on such a spontaneous roller coaster of emotions in a matter of less than an hour.
You probably get all these comments from a lot of your readers, but I have to say, your book has changed my life. So many opportunities go by in which I could participate in, but just thinking about it is DEBILITATING. It's so hard to go out and ask for help without feeling like a failure. You're absolutely right. Depression is such a toxic cycle, but I can't let that control me when I could be doing so much.
I just wanted to write to say thank you. Thank you for putting all my vulnerabilities out there and making me realize that at some point, things will get better, as long as I do my part, of course. If it were possible, I would love for this book to be distributed in high schools and colleges. It's an invaluable item, one that I know many would appreciate having before they throw their entire lives down a cliff. Paul, thank you thank you thank you!!! Thank you for being so straight forward, so honest. I guess I'm really not alone..."

I got this book in the mail on Thursday, Saturday night I decided to start reading it around 11 PM. A few hours passed by and I was finished around 4:30 AM. Yes, this book was so addicting that I had finished the book in one sitting. Every time I said I was going to stop after one step and pick it up again tomorrow, my eyes wandered to the next page to read the title of the next step and I just kept on going!

That is how GREAT this book is. I'm 21 about to turn 22 next month and I figured, the book's online summary and title just screamed out to me so I figured why not give it a shot? I don't care what age you are, even though this book is for people in their "20s" it really is a "must read" for anyone no matter the age with goals, ambitions, dreams or if you are in need of something more important than anything else; HOPE.

The reason that it took "so long" for me to finish the book was because I was laughing so hard at some of the steps because they were so relevant to my life and the things that I've been going through. By the time I finished the book, I felt like I had to soak my feet because Paul had stepped on my toes so much!

I'm not going to reveal any spoilers but personally rule #82 spoke to me, after I read it I got teary-eyed because it was so true describing where I am in my life. Dream job; professional songwriter. Passion; writing. That is just me and I'm sure the people reading this post, have a dream that they want to accomplish.

Again, I don't care how old you are or where you are in life but trust me if you read this book you will feel inspired to do something that you've been putting off because of laziness, doubt or just because someone said that you couldn't do it. I challenge you to read this book and tell me that you don't get inspired by the time you finish it!

Thanks Paul, this book was just what I needed!

"Anyone who is selling you a formula or seven-step process for guaranteed success in your 20s is a liar or a con artist. (Unless it's coming from me. Then you'd be crazy not to snag it for $19.99)."

Or $9.55, or $11.24, or $14.99...depending on where and how you buy this book, of course. And you'll want to buy this book. Not because I'm telling you it's freaking fantastic, or because of all the other awesome reviews I'm sure you're finding here on the store. But because whether you are one or know one, there are 20-somethings out there who are struggling with at least one of these 101 somethings penned by Paul Angone.

"Sometimes surviving your 20s is nothing more glamorous than just holding on for dear life on the back of an inner tube like a kid being whipped around by a speedboat."

We 20-somethings often feel like just that - survivors. Well, if we 20-somethings are survivors, then "101 Secrets for your Twenties" is our survival guide. Paul has a way of writing that will suck you in and make you laugh, make you think, make you wonder. But most important, he just wants us all to know that we're not alone in this, and that sometimes: "The most important secrets are the ones you figure out for yourself".

If you're at all thinking about buying "101 Secrets for your Twenties", then you'll also want to check out Paul's blog, AllGroanUp.com, where he has even more 20-something goodies! If you're still thinking about buying "101 Secrets for your Twenties", then buy it. ;)

If you're on the fence about whether to buy "101 Secrets for Your Twenties," hop off immediately. This book is not only a personal companion through the treacherous waters of the the defining decade, making you feel less alone and overwhelmed, it's also full of sage words that help you make your way to the other side. While it is definitely not a "self-help" book (which I think is one of its strengths), there is certainly plenty of advice and thoughts in here to make it practical and useful.

Until 101 Secrets, there hasn't been a book for twentysomethings that comes anywhere near this one in terms of level of sustained reader engagement (Paul Angone is wicked funny!), sound insights, and depth of understanding of what this decade is all about. I've been wanting to see a book like this for ages and am so glad it's finally here. I'll be giving it as gifts for many years to come.

This is a fantastic book for any 20-something. Being a 20-something has plenty of opportunities and challenges, it is not an easy time but it is a thrilling time. Paul does a fantastic job highlighting some situations that many of us will be able to relate to, providing some context about how to think about that specific situation, and then dropping some knowledge on how to overcome and get through that particular situation. In some cases, its done in a few words, and others, its done in a few pages. The layout of the book makes it engaging as you'll have some short secrets and some much longer ones. While it's a quick read, it packs a punch with insight, laughs, ideas and maxims that can be helpful to any 20-something. Paul is a great storyteller, and most importantly, an authentic one. You can see the honesty as he talks about the highs and lows of being a 20-something. The authenticity is not only appreciated and admired, but makes the book more powerful and complete. It will enable people of all walks of life the ability to relate to various secrets.I highly recommend this book to any 20-something regardless of their current life situation.

This book thoroughly resonates with me! I found myself saying "Yes! I've been there," or "Currently going through that!" 101 Secrets for Your Twenties, written in Jon Acuff-blog-style, is an entertaining and truth-revealing read.

I really enjoyed how the topics were written as short pieces, and how themes repeated themselves.

A great read. If you are in your 20s or have friends in their 20s: a required read!

(I gave an honest review of this book in exchange for a free copy.)

If you are in or around your twenties and are looking for some advice, look no further. Don’t just take my word for it.

Full disclosure: I know Paul personally. And so I already knew how talented, insightful and full-on fabulous he was from both his website (allgroanup.com) and our interactions. What I didn't know what that he had this incredible book up his sleeve. And now that I have one in my hot little hands? I'm just falling over delighted.

It's written in tone that shouts both "expert" and "funniest, most humble 20-something guy you ever met" -- And, more importantly, it dishes up just the right amount of wisdom that people in their 20s (and beyond... I know this, because I'm in that "beyond" category) can put to use as they navigate their careers, relationships and lives.

I'm a career coach and job search strategist. This is a fancy way to say "I help people figure out what jobs they want, and then I help shove them in the right direction." I will absolutely be recommending this book to any and all 20-something clients because the advice is spot-on and the presentation aligns brilliantly with my own style and tone.

Bravo to Paul Angone!

We've all read them. "20 Ways to........" or "50 Things You Should Know About...". This is not one of those books. It's informative as well as an all-around enjoyable read. This book perfectly captures the idea of "secrets for your twenties" in the author's voice and in the actual secrets. That idea is that there is NO magic formula for your twenties. If you're picking this up because you think it will equal ten years of smooth sailing then put it back down. This book isn't about special tools or tricks. Overall it's about developing the mindset and confidence that complements the hard work you will hopefully put in to your 20s. Paul Angone seems to have mastered one of the most important secrets.... don't take yourself too seriously. Some good natured joking makes the book an easy read while still imparting those short bits of wisdom. Highly recommend.

Why am I just now discovering this book? I wish I would have came across this book the day I turned 20. I will be 22 in two days and this book came to me at the perfect time in my life right now. I'm not finished with the book yet, but I had to come and make a review just because. when I'm scrolling through Facebook, twitter, or instagram I get a little discouraged when I see my friends or people my age already so accomplished in life traveling the world and owning their own businesses and what not, and I'm at home on my computer making a review for a book, but when I came across secret #29 "Do not confuse setbacks for settling" that struck a cord with me. when things sometimes don't go my way I easily give up which is something I struggle with, even as an adult and I always have this 'whoa is me" mentality. I moved back home two years ago and I'm now working at a job that I'm not to fond of at the moment and I'm definitely not too happy where I am at this point of my life. I know I'm still in the early stages of my twenties and I'm just now starting out, but I have to remember like Paul said I'm not settling I'm just visiting. At the end of they day I know this is just the beginning and I'm looking forward to the future and finishing this book. I would definitely recommend this book to my closest friends and other twenty-somethings struggling to find their place in life.

You think the teen years are rough? Well, the Twenties can be tough and, in some ways, harder than the teen years! Now people expect you to be responsible and know what you are doing. Paul Angone uses real life experiences, humor, and wisdom to give encouragement and advice to the person finding their way through the twenties. A must-read for everyone, whether you are in your twenties or twenties plus twenties!

One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Some of these “secrets” were reminders and others reaffirmed things that friends who are older than me have been telling me for months. One of my favorites is number 76: no one knows what they’re doing. So I guess fake it till you make it? Looking forward to reading more of Paul’s work!

If it were up to me, this book would be required for all twentysomethings to read upon renewing their drivers license for the first time. Paul's advice is witty, upfront, and applicable to any of us scrambling to make our way through this awkward decade in life. And most of all, he confirms the one truth that all of us as twentysomethings are desperately searching for... WE ARE NOT ALONE. Not ever. Not when you're screwing around on Google at work because you hate your job, not when you're at home watching full house reruns and stalking you ex's in your PJ's on a Friday night, and definitely not when you ask yourself for the 70th time today, "What the hell am I doing with my life?"

Because Paul has been there and he understands what it's like to be lost swimming in the sea that is Gen Y. It sucks. But it doesn't have to if you take his advice. Grab a copy today and do yourself a favor by soaking up everything this guy has to offer when it comes to your twenties. I promise you won't regret it.

I laughed so hard I made a "squeeeeeeee" noise at one point. My eyes welled up a time or two. Or three. Or nine. Reading Angone's heartfelt, transparent (and too often hilariously relatable) recollection of 20-something reality had me roaring and reeling page after page. My only wish is tat this book existed a decade ago when my 20s were tough and I felt like I was all alone in a big bad grown up world, without a clue or a road map.

This is going to be my go-to gift for new grands and 20-something birthdays. Paul, you nailed it... 101 times!

Paul brings a funny, fresh approach to the self-help space in this brilliant book for twenty-somethings. Packed full of good advice and lessons, you no longer need to learn things by making your own mistakes (although that will still inevitably happen). Give it a read, have a laugh and then go rock your twenties.

I really enjoyed the book. Some of the secrets are silly, and maybe not all applied to my life, but overall it has a really good message. The author has a lot of wisdom about what it takes to make it through this time time in your life. A lot of our generation are kind of lazy and expect things to go their way. The book details what it really takes to make it through life.

101 Secrets For Your Twenties is a book that I'll forever hold dear to my heart. It came at the right time for me as I was struggling through post-college life. But 101 Secrets For Your Twenties is more than a helpful book full of witty and wise advice. It's a roadmap to help you live your potential sooner rather than later. I recommend this book to everyone. Not only those in their twenties. I promise you that by the end of the book, you'll start naming your favorite secrets. Mine are #2, #71, #91, and #93. If you want to know what they are, you'll just have to get the book and read it for yourself. You will not be disappointed!

As a twenty-something, I've often wondered if there was a way to learn everything we should know in our 20's in one place? One resource that we could go to for insights on work, relationships, and life in general?

Thankfully, Paul Angone asked those same questions and decided to do something about it. After his blog post 21 Secrets for your 20s was shared and read over a million times, Paul decided to take the idea even further and publish his first book "101 secrets for your 20s."

This book is a must-read for every person in their 20's whether you're just graduating from college, struggling through a quarter-life crisis, or content where you are!

Being a twentysomething can be a scary, frustrating time... but it doesn't have to be! Paul takes the role of mentor/older sibling and shares a bucket-load of humor and wisdom. I kept nodding to myself as my own experiences resonated with his throughout the book.

The format and insights of the book made it incredibly easy to read and I am recommending it to many of my friends!

It's official: I am now a fan for life of Paul Angone.

I will be turning 29 soon and live in Europe. I had been highly deceived by "The Defining Decade" from Meg Jay (see my review) and thus was searching for another kind of book related to the difficulties that 20 somethings are facing nowadays. If you hate the narrow-minded, conservative and academic perspective of Meg Jay I can definitely tell you that you will love Paul Angone's one. This guy puts a finger on the reality...this is the first time I can really say "hey I'm not alone ! That's not because of me !". Because the reality is, once you are in your mid-twenties, being either unemployed or in a sh**ty job while still in your parents' home for example, it is very difficult to maintain contact with your college/high-school friends. You are ashamed and the social media maintain the illusion that everyone's life is a career success...we all know that it's a huge lie but it's how it is. But when it happened that I met old friends, while each one of us had a different story, the explanations from Paul Angone still applied to everyone of us.

The thing I would like to underlie here is: this book should have been called "101 Secrets for your life". Because my personal opinion is that most of the revealed secrets are in fact new emerging symptoms of a society made of insecurities. Insecurities are excellent for capitalism because they encourage labor flexibility: you are not bound anymore to your village/state/country, not bound anymore to your wife/husband/family, not bound anymore to your house/apartment, not bound anymore to your employer etc, etc. Cheap and flexible labor units that can easily relocate at minimum cost, renting shared rooms and working for short-time periods in transient "job hotspots" on the world-map...this is what we are now and this has nothing to do with more freedom of individuals. This nomad way of life is not something about our twenties...we think it is because we are the first generation to experience it...but our thirties, forties and so on will be made of the same insecurities and probably even worse. So this book is a must-buy whatever your age. It's even more relevant if you have experienced some of the difficulties raised in the book and, to be honest, it even seems that late twenties, early thirties have a better opinion of the book than 18 years old or young 20 somethings...why ? Because we can bind emotions and personal experience to it, and this makes it so more meaningful to us. It allows us to let go the guilty feelings and move forwards. To be honest I am not even sure that early twenties are the good audience for this book...because in 5-7 years the reality will be probably even worse than today. A new economic collapse is scheduled for this year or 2016, all the specialists know it...and it will be far, far more destructive than the little shock of 2007, with all the long-term consequences that this will bring on the job-market, young adult health etc.

I really enjoyed this book, I almost wanted to read it as a devotional and only focus on 1 secret a day however I always want to know what's next! He had some very relevant advice for those of us in our 20's somethings related to friends, relationships, jobs, spirituality and general direction for our lives! I'm glad someone finally wrote something real! Thank you!

I am in my twenties. I have been for a while, actually. So, this book was appropriate to me, and I thought I would give it a read.

101 Secrets for Your Twenties is a book of shorts tips and advice and just comments on life as a person who is in their twenties.

Who the book is for:

Those in their twenties, obviously. Male or Female.

What I liked:

The “chapters” are short – there are a hundred and one of them – and easy to read.

Written in a fun way, with plenty of humor mixed in.

I could really identify with a lot of this book, and it was really nice to know that I am not alone. Going through your twenties can be tough, as you figure out the rest of your life, but not I know that it is like this for others, too.

What I didn’t like:

I found Wine 101 a bit weird to be included in a Christian book. Yes, I know that not all Christians are against drinking – most probably aren’t – but I still just found it a bit weird.

Some of the stuff that the author says about dating is just wrong. Like, you’re supposed to date a bunch so you know what kind of guy or girl you want and what kind you don’t… “Dating is simply about honing your taste.” Okay… I have to disagree with his opinion on that. Again, this was not stuff that you would expect to find in a Christian book, and I was surprised.

My conclusion:

Overall, this book was a bit eye-opening and good to read, with just a couple of problems.

I give 101 Secrets for Your Twenties 3 out of 5 stars.

This book was incredibly helpful in making me feel less alone in my twenties struggles. It was written in a lighthearted way that didnt make you come away with a feeling of doom and gloom, but at the same time was realistic and upfront about the fact that this decade is sometimes difficult. I recommended this book. You won't come away with all the answers, but you will feel less alone andperhaps more normal in your struggles .

Firstly I love the way this book is laid out. There are 101 snippets of advice, and they are clearly numbered and kept fairly brief. This makes it really easy to read, and also really easy to refer back to. I have dog-eared some of the pages for things I want to remember and come back to later on. You don't have to read the whole book in one go, it's easy to pick up and snatch a few snippets of advice in short blocks of time.

The content of the book is also really relevant to me - I am 29 now, almost the same age as the author, and I wish I had known some of this stuff when I was 19. This type of self-help book should be mandatory reading for young-uns embarking on their adulthood, as well as their parents. Sometimes the hardest part of your 20s is explaining yourself to your parents, and Paul recognises this.

This is the type of book I would share with my friends, because I think that they would really benefit from it too. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

This book is a fantastic read! Paul shows us all who are in our twentysomethings that we are not alone in this journey we call life. It is very inspirational and has amazing points to help shift our perspective to a greater, more positive thinking on all things in our lives. It keeps you on your toes and Paul Angone is a hilarious writer on top of it all! Keeps you engaged and wanting more!

I tell all my friends about this book, its that good!

If you're sitting there thinking, "mhmmm, should I get this book or not..." your answer should be yes!!!
Do it! I can guarantee that you will love this book!

P.S. For all you Apple savvy people out there like myself, they have it on on ebook! I got mine for $9.99 on there and read it from my iPad!

Much Love!

I'm 25 and I feel that I am in the middle of a quarter life crisis. That's how I found this book: Googling 'quarter life crisis' and finding the article, with the link to the book. I thought, "great! I'm not alone! I'm not the only one who found herself moving back in with her parents after thinking I had figured it all out and then it all came crashing down around me."

Your book has encouraged, inspired, annoyed and challenged me. All in good, fantastic, life-changing ways. I am now thinking "bigger and way longer," to quote this great book I just read. My whole mindset is changing for the BETTER and I can't thank you enough.

It took awhile in my early 20s to discover this: only I could change the life-sucking cycle in which I felt so stuck.

This is precisely what blogger and author Paul Angone proves in 101 Secrets For Your Twenties, which I a) wish he'd written 10 years ago (but I forgive you!) and b) thoroughly enjoyed. 101 Secrets is easy to read, and fast and funny. It is also sometimes convicting. The secrets he shares challenge young adults to jump life's hurdles instead of pouting about them and to accept that growing pains are part of young adulthood (if we are willing to grow up). Pick it up if you're in your 20s or about to be, and even if you're long past it -- you'll look back and laugh, and you'll have a great gift to give to a 20-something near you.

This is a funny, easy read. I am in my 30's, and not only did I still relate to much of the content, I also felt a sense of support after having read this book. You think your life is a mess? You're not the only one! And chances are, you're doing a lot better than you think you are.

If you are looking for a serious self-help book, this is probably not right for you. It is written simply, and the advice is from the author's own perspective, not from that of a "professional." However, it is definitely worth a read!

This book contains so much awesomeness that I almost. cannot. handle. it. And it's not the empty, fluff that you'll hear elsewhere -- instead, it's real, relatable, and chock filled with seriously good advice. The world needs more books like this (and more voices like Paul's) out there.

If you're feeling lost, frustrated, or alone in your twenties, then I thoroughly recommend that you buy it. Now.

I wasn't looking for this book, but thought to give it a try after reading the description.

Oh my goodness, it verbalized the questions I've been struggling with, and provided clear-cut answers with gut punch humor. Reading through the different chapters seemed like "permission" to feel small,to try and fail, and to look forward to getting out of these years! I love that some of the tips were repeated, and reaffirmed so that you couldn't miss the main point.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to my friends who are working through the questions that come with being twenty, and out of college, and figuring out life. Definitely give this book a go!

Disclaimer: I received a pdf copy of this book for free with the agreement to leave an unbiased review.

I liked this book and found it surprisingly relevant and quite comforting. I definitely related to many of the points.
The two major recurring themes throughout the book that didn't really resonate with me were: working in a cubicle/office environment, and religious faith. I didn't find those themes to be offensive in any way, just not really relevant to my life.

It is nice to know that other people have the same sort of life searching what-am-I-doing-with-my-life moments that I do! And it's nice to know that I might grow out of that.

I read this and couldn't believe someone went through the exact same trials as I'm experiencing as a 20-something. Easy to read through initially, but it's also useful as a reference guide later. It's a good read for anyone entering the workforce post-college, though I feel that anyone needing encouragement to get through hard times can benefit a lot from reading the book. Some tips are quick while others are supplemented with relevant personal stories from the author. Highly recommended.

I've always been really skeptical of articles or books that have titles that include the word "secrets" and a number afterwards. Articles like: "10 secrets of Super-Happy Couples" Or "10 secrets to flawless skin" or "10 secrets to success" or "20 secrets for the perfect wedding". Most of these articles are full of bull crap that is fluffed up by so-called professionals and "experts" that just want to get read or published or rich.

But even with my cynicism of "secrets" and articles and books of lists that I always thought existed for the sole purpose of stealing your money and being used as really awesome kindling, I somehow got this book "101 Secrets for Your Twenties" and read the whole thing, did not burn it, and actually want to give it to every friend I have.

I've been reading Paul's blog "All Groan Up" for about a year now (I recommend this greatly if you've never stopped by) and I guess knowing Paul and his writing before made me trust that this wasn't like all those other books and articles full of the "secrets" to life. Paul's article "21 Secrets for Your 20′s" started the yearning for more words of wisdom with the perfect amount of humor. This guy wasn't writing to get rich. He is writing because he's been there and he wants others to learn from what he learned.

101 Secrets for Your Twenties will now be my new go-to gift for high school graduates, college graduates, and all my twenty-something friends who have birthdays coming up.

Buy it. Read it. Be blessed.

If I'd had this book ten years ago, it would've saved me years of therapy. Paul Angone tells it like it is with insights that are approachable, humorous, and realistic. It's the ultimate older-brother-shares-his-wisdom speech, typeset and formatted for later reference -- and you will want to refer back to it later on! Some books should be read, applied, and read again every year or whenever you feel like you're wondering what in the world you've gotten yourself into with this whole growing-up thing, and this is one of them. It's quick, readable, and even older-than-twentysomethings can appreciate and apply the subject matter to their own relationship with adultness.

I once heard how our ceiling can be the next generation's floor, so they have the possibility to go further and impact the world in mighty ways. 101 Secrets provides the path to the top of the ceiling so current 20-somethings can propel themselves forward and impact the world, which is a really, really beautiful thing. The author also writes in a style that is relateable, honest and he is correct in pointing out how essential vulnerability is to the truths he presents. Wonderful book!!

Well, needless to say, YOU ARE NOT! 101 Secrets For Your Twenties is a clear indicator that many twenty-somethings are experiencing the same struggles, the same epiphanies, the same situations, etc. I wasn't going through a particularly hard time in my life, but I was frustrated with the process of adulthood. This book inspired me to remain optimistic in my future because I knew I was not alone.

This book is all parts AMAZING and relieving; encouraging and brutally honest. It is confirmation for many of the things we know to be right and true. The written format also makes it easy-to-read. The reading experience isn't like listening to a counselor tell you what they think you should do with your life...it's more like a wiser, older brother or uncle sharing some of life's truths with you. And let me not forget to mention that Paul is absolutely hilarious. I laughed so many times, people around me would look at me with curiosity. I would just tell them...you need to read this book!

Definitely buy this book and be inspired. I can guarantee 100% that you will be able to personally relate to at least 20 of the steps. Incredible!

101 Secrets for your 20s is full of wise advice and hilarious truth about life in your 20s. Wish I had read it after college when I was moving, changing jobs, looking for roommates, moving again, dating and wondering if all of this was normal. This book would make the perfect graduation gift or a great book for group discussions for a church college or young adults group. Paul's writing is honest, funny and makes you feel like you're sharing a beer with a good friend who keeps nodding along and saying "yep, I get it."

As someone who has recently begun reflecting on life in her twenties as a very unique, and often difficult, phase, this book could not be more perfect! Paul doesn't just tell you how your 20s suck, he inspires twentysomethings to take risks, have faith, dig deeper and not to settle for less than they deserve. I could imagine the book speaks to everyone differently, but most pages sounded like my inner dialogue. He really meets people where they are and honestly reveals a lot about his own journey. There's a lot more I can say, but you should spend your time reading this book, not listening to me ramble!

I'm not even kidding. Every 20-something needs this book! So if you know someone who's in their twenties, buy it for them. If you have no money or don't like them enough to spend money on them, just tell them about it. Because it's going to make a difference in their life! When we're in our twenties, we kind of have no clue what we're doing. THIS WILL HELP! Paul is a great writer who offers down-to-earth, no BS advice for anyone who's feeling a little lost during this greatly confusing time in our life. Buy it, or I'm going to have to smack you a little.

Paul has done a really excellent job here. Not only is this book full of timeless advice, it is also a fun read. The best part of the book is that it is written in a way that will be easily understood for generations to come. The personal style of Paul's writing makes it feel like you are discussing life's greatest questions with one of your buddies. Even in today's Twitter world (i.e. a world emphasizing streamlined messages) you won't be bored reading this book. I highly recommend this book for anyone searching for greater self-understanding, not just 20Somethings.

This is one of the best books I've ever read about the 20-something crisis. I laughed on almost every page and nodded my head "yes" often, thinking about and relating to the similar things I went through in my early 20's. This is the kind of book that will help every young person laugh a little more, breathe a little easier, and realize that taking control of this chaotic time can turn it from a frustrating and sometimes miserable experience to an adventure.

I highly recommend "101 Secrets For Your Twenties."

Paul Angone inspires "The lost generation" AKA those of us in our twenties, to redefine success and pursue the God-given dreams placed inside of each of us. He challenges us to embrace and roll with the failures of our lives and to live out our own stories instead of comparing our stories to one another. This book has the potential to free a generation to envision, creature, and pursue the dreams inside of them.

It's hilarious, moving, and life changing. Everyone should read it whether you're in your twenties or not. It takes the boring, mundane seriousness out of life and calls us to dream big and laugh when life doesn't turn out the way it was "supposed to."

Read it and be changed.

I bought this book because I'm approaching the middle of my twenties soon. I never realized until now that being in this age range is so stressful. There's only so much advice your family can give you because they lived during a different time than I am. This book feels like I have a wise therapist to help guide me. Great advice! I would definitely recommend to everyone who feels like like they're just wandering around the world with zero direction of where they're going.

REVIEW:
Oh gosh... I hate writing negative reviews. There were some good parts to this book, a few laughs, and a couple secrets that really resonated with me. However, as a whole I did not really enjoy this book. Angone uses p.u.n.c.t.u.a.t.i.o.n, italics, and bold excessively; nearly every secrets includes some sort of random or awkward metaphor; and the entire book read like a bunch of little blog posts. I cringed every time I read the line, "Every.Single.Time."

I understand there will be plenty of people who will enjoy his easy to read book, but I simply could not get past the immaturity in his writing. I try to cut new authors a lot of slack, this wasn't the worst book I've read by any means, but I still have to be honest. I hope in the future he'll strengthen his writing skills to better use writing techniques to make his points and not rely so heavily upon bold and italics.

This is one of those books that are so packed with life changing advice and ideas for things you want to apply Right Now, that it is best read one secret at a time. Honestly, I would have to say that I think that you would get the most out of this book if you used it as a step-by-step way to change your outlook on life and kept a journal as you went through it. It was really that good.

This book was a reminder that I'm not alone and that we each feel this way. Paul's relatable style is easy to grasp & enjoy. Often, it's more conversational than anything, like speaking to a mentor.

I'm very glad Paul wrote this while I'm still in my young twenties so I can learn from his advice for the next few years! This book is such a great reminder that, however alone you may feel in your twenties, you're never TRULY alone. I am not much of one for "Self Help" books, but this book is SO great. I felt like I was sitting having coffee with a friend and talking about how incredibly awful life can be, all while joking and laughing through it. The only reason it's so funny is because everything thats said is SO true. This book is a must have for all twenty somethings. If anything it will remind you that your not actually alone at all. Was all excited to buy the book for a young male friend who just graduated from college (engineering) and was disappointed when a typo jumped out right when I opened the book ("too" when "to" would have been correct).

Secret #102 maybe? spelling and punctuation really do matter. ("Let's eat, Grandma!" Let's eat Grandma!")
So I put the book back on the bookstore shelf and bought him "Adulting" by Brown instead.

I couldn't help but think that there was a little too much religion around every page turn. There were many great secrets, but intermingled were statements about God having his plan and turning it over to "Him." I think that much of the advice was obvious and geared at individuals struggling with their 20s. A lot was about hating your boss, or being your own individual, or even making sure to be happy in your job.

Good luck, 20-somethings, but you can do without this book. The whole idea of God's divine plan and the emphasis on those that are struggling made me have to email the store and ask for a refund.

First off, I enjoyed being able to read this book for free thanks to Story Cartel. I'm in my early twenties and having a terrific early-life crisis as we speak, so I found much of this book closely relating to my thought process and surroundings on most days. I did find the way the author worded things at times a bit cheesy, but again, I also found many of the "secrets" to be words I knew were true. A fairly short and easy read, but enjoyable for just that reason.

I need to open by saying I really did think this book's content had a lot of merit, and I am a follower of the author's blog. Unfortunately, I found it actually pretty hard to read, even though it was in such an easy, list format.

I was distracted, mainly, by the lack of organization. It's probably a personal opinion, but it really bugged me to read about dating, then it pops over to taking risks and making mistakes, then to money, then back to dating, then another thing about money, and so on. It would have really benefited from grouping the topics (and would make it easier to reference later).

In addition, I never knew what length each secret would be. Obviously some variance is fine, but some secrets are 2-3 sentences long, some have a couple paragraphs underneath the secret, and then some follow the secret with 6-7 pages of hammering home a point. Really inconsistent and it made it distracting (and hard to find a point to stop - do I read one more? How do I know I have enough time to keep going?).

There was some inconsistency with some of the writing as well, i.e., emphasizing a phrase in different ways ("every.single.time" vs. "every,single,time.").

Again, I liked the content, but it would have benefited from some editing and reorganization. A solid effort from the author.

I have to say right off the bat, I got this book for free as a review copy - so take that into consideration.
I have been eagerly awaiting this book as I'm a 20something struggling to find the right path. Some of the secrets were useful, sure, lots of common knowledge but it was nice to have stuff like "pursue your dream career, don't get stuck in work you do not find fulfilling" etc validated on paper. However, I was really put off by one particular aspect of the book. The author is clearly spiritual, and that's great, but as someone who is not a christian it made it very hard to relate to many of the chapters as I have no interest in attending church or conversing with god.
A short, helpful worthwhile read that sadly will not be my bible for navigating my 20s.

I have to be honest, I came at this book from a conservative Christian viewpoint. At first I was excited to read this book because I thought it was going to be solid advice from an older man in the Lord. I knew I wouldn’t agree with everything, but I figured it was going to be a book not just of opinions and lame jokes, but something that I could use to grow in my walk with Christ. Almost as if the author was talking to his younger brothers and sisters sharing his mistakes and how he worked through them, sharing how Christ has worked in his life through different situations.

However, as I began to read the book I was greatly disappointed. I was not a fan of this book, the “secrets” were not actually secrets. I felt as if the author was more concerned with making the reader laugh and entertained than he was concerned with giving actual advice to twenty somethings. The only thing I found funny about this book was its utter redicoulsness, it was definitely not worth the read. I got this book from the publisher in order to write this review, if I paid $13 for this book I would have been pretty upset. I do not recommend this book.
