This is a great, little story of the life of Scourge. It tells how he rise to power.

The manga illustration is interesting, not a top drawing, but still very good, and I enjoyed this book a lot.

Alright, so we get a better understanding of Scorge, but he turns out to be a cliche character. The runt of the litter is scared off by one of his siblings (Ruby tells him that unwanted kittens are thrown into the river) and becomes the leader of a clan of alley cats by using his shadow to (ahem, "cleverly") scare off some dog. I almost forgot to mention he encounters Tigerpaw's so called "defending Thunderclan territory". So, in a nutshell Scourge just wanted to kill Tigerstar to get his "revenge". If we portray him as smart, then wh did he think about facing "Tigerpaw" again? Sure he was upset, but he would have thought about it first. Also, he just flat out did a one hit KO which killed Tigerstar. Now he got his revenge, but apparenly that wasn't enough. Now he wants the whole forest to himself. What did that have to do with getting revenge on his morta enemy? Scourge is an okay character to say at least. His main problem is his lack of character development. What really motivated him? His temper? revenge? I don't know. So to sum it up, Scourge is another Mapleshade. Misunderstood and tempered. The one thing I did like about him was his determination. He achieved his goal and did not let anoter cat's judgement if him hold him down. Once again, Scourge is okay in my book.

You may have read my mentor's, Owlmist, reviews before. Unfortunately, she has quite writing them because csje just had kits with Marshwhisker! Mothkit is a gray tabby she kit like her father, but she has dazzingly green eyes simmilar to her mother. Falconkit is a dark brown tom with amber eyes. One more shade darker and he wouldv'e been black! Bouncekit is a ginger tom with blue eyes, rather like his father's eyes. Finally, she has little Seedkit. Seedkit is pretty light brown tabby she-kit with white paws, a white muzzle, awhite belly and a white tail tip. She also has pale blue eyes. Oh! But I am not doing the review! Ok the book has great information about Scourge. I did not know he was the little kit the Tigerpaw (at the time) and Thistleclaw tried to kill in front of Bluefur.

You were walking towards camp, trying to spot TigerBlaze. "TIGERBLAZE?!" An brown tabby rushed out of the medic den... "What?! Is someone attacking? IS SOMEONE STEALING MY DREAM LOVE?!"
You shook your head and asked TigerBlaze,"Tell me about Scourge! PLEASE?" Tigerblaze muttered,"He was BloodClan's leader-"
You whined, clawing at the earth dirt beneath your paws,"I meant his life!" All of a sudden Jayfeather yowled,"Tigerblaze? Come back to the medic den RIGHT now. Your dressing isn't done yet!"
Tigerblaze glanced back and back towards you. "Maybe next time. Got to go! Bye _______paw!"

<----- That story up there is a fanfiction! :3

This book is a good story for behind Scourge's life. It definately was a great help for a backgroun knowledge (or schema)
Scourge wa known as Little when he was a baby kittypet. His littermates, Socks and Ruby thought of him as the runt.
Little did they know that Little will have a destiny covered with bloodshed.
I recommend this book to people who have read the 6th book of the 1st seires! I'm glad the Erin Hunter team was encouraged to make this!

You would think that there was nothing more to scourge that he was evil and bloodthirsty but now I know that he was just a normal kitten like every other kit born in a nursery except his name was tiny and all he wanted was to have his brother and sister like him and maybe be a bit bigger so he could do the same things they do When kittypet Tiny crosses paths with some wild forest cats defending their territory, he is left with scars—and a bitter, deep-seated grudge. As his reputation grows among the strays and loners that live in the dirty brick alleyways of Twolegplace, he changes his name to Scourge and puts everything about his old life behind him—except his deadly desire for revenge and he finds a new way soaked with blood

It was a great book, but I finished it in about 15 minutes. I have a few complaints. When Scourge gets the dog tooth, he claims he ripped it from the dog's mouth. If he did, wouldn't there be blood and a bit of root on the tooth? And when his siblings come by, I think that they should at least bring a present as a peace offering. Hello? Use your brains! If a cat sees him murder that rogue, why would you continue worshipping him? Can't you see he's a murder? Scourge in these books was always described as a small cat. Why? So that everyone thinks he's amazing? No! Make him big if he's threatening you! How did he get enough dog teeth for him, and his followers? He came to them like 8 moons ago. And on that point, why would you trust them, and make him your leader? Plus, Barley, Ravenpaw's friend, is never mentioned. Scourge said he new every kit around here. Apparently not. It should mention Barley as a traitor, a fiend. Someone who left their clan. And... BLOODCLAN?! WHAT THE HECK? How do they know anything about _____
Clan? Name it something like Scourge. Duh. But in all, I would rate it 3 and a half stars, but I can't. So yeah. Bye!

The Rise Of Scourge is a story about the cat we all hate the one who loves to kill… the powerful BloodClan leader… a bully, Scourge is a bully. But do we still ever wonder how Scourge came to be? After you read this book though, all your perspective changes about this one cat. Quince`s and Jake`s son and Firestar`s half-brother Scourge. After you finish there is still one question that you have to answer yourself… Do I still hate him or feel bad for him?

I would recommend this book for 1st Grade and up, and also to people who like animals/cats. Before I read this book I hated Scourge for everything he did! After I read this book Scourge became my favorite cat. –Olivia L.

this revwiew I can't do without spoiling the story just A LOT!!!

now, on with the review…

you killed tigerstar ( the taste of revenge you must have got, killing tigerstar
he attacked you when you were a kit!)

and to come and think of it, you and firestar share a mother!

now lets get on woth your biography…

-when you were born you were the runt and you were weak

- to show you were just as good as your littermates, you went into thunderclan territory tigerpaw (tigerstar) attakd you

- you changed your name to scourge and became leader of bloodclan and you came to the forest

alright, now you have a biography of scouge

You gotta have some empathy for this little guy. Tiny is hated by his siblings! He is not evil. Killing Tigerstar is for something really cool called revenge. Most villians (he is not a villian!!!) are villians because of thier so-called past.

Tiny's siblings even are mewling about how they hate him and how 'bad' he is at games. Tiny is clearly favored by his mother, thankfuly. Tiny cannot process this and reconize it and says it is clearly his siblings, Ruby and Socks.

This 'manga' is short, and is priced way too high, for how short it is. But other than this, this book is awesome! Thanks Erin Hunter. -Me

definitely a great book. sadly, the rise of scourge is also a quick read. what i found out was that scourge is small and pitiful, and yet grows into this powerful cat, who is feared by all ally cats.

Just like Graystripe's Triology, this "manga" book has a few problems. It is way too short and easy to read, and there is just so much more that should be in it yet this "manga" book would be too long. (My best friend, a manga expert, told me that this really isn't manga. It is read front to back and has more pictures than anything- friendly pictures with not much violence! It's more like a graphic novel, according to my father). I did, however, like to finally get a book made from the villian's point of view! It was really neat to find out mroe about the small deadly cat from Twoleggedplace and why he hates Clan cats so much. I like the new style of drawing, and how it gave a few pictures of the famous Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw! ALSO- Read it carefully, and you will discover the BIGGEST Clan secret EVER! And of course I'm not going to blurt it!
Buy this, it's worth your money, I'm pretty sure! (and now that you know of the secret you'll go crazy trying to get it!)

The Rise of Scourge is an enthralling, adventurous, action-filled, manga from the Warriors series. It is about a soft, playful, runt-of-the-litter, house cat named Tiny, who turns into a violent, blood-obsessed, murdering leader of a clan he names "BloodClan" and changes his name to what he is: "Scourge." This book really dives into the past of this horrible cat and thrills you into reading on. Though I knew what happened after the book ended, I still wanted to keep reading and have it told to me happening from Scourge's point of view. Though he is told to be as a bloodcurdling scourge in the first series of Warriors, the book The Rise of Scourge shows that, in his rough past, he was once a bouncy, enthusiastic kitten that was completely innocent and harmless.

This book features a cat named Tiny - the runt of the litter - as he's bullyed and picked on. He leaves his family to go to a city in order to prove his worth and settle a long held grudge. There are some fighting scenes in the book, but there isn't any blood or gore. This is a relatively kid safe read. I would say about 9+ age range. Perfect collector item for fans of the Warriors series.

The rise of Scourge is a good book. True some parts are sad. Scourge is so cute at first, but turned into a vicious rogue at the end. He kind of reminds of my brothers cat. Her name is Cha Cha. I really like the illustrations in this book because the way Scourge is drawn. I recommend this book for those who would like to know why Scourge killed Tigerstar in The Darkest Hour.

This was great. No other word. It also kinda makes Socks and Ruby some of the awfulest cats in the series. I mean, they are worse then him. They're kinda the reason he became a rouge. Ruby told Tiny (scourge) that unwanted kittens get thrown into the river. No. She made him feel unwanted. All the fluffy kittens are wanted, especially the teeny ones.

Ok, the book was very interesting- i would even consider geting the rest of the manga. (Note: read this book AFTER you read The Darkest Hour #6) Well anyway, grat book but its way too short. It says 112 pages. But in the back is a bunch of sneek-peeks and summeries of new warriors books. There is only 82 pages of reading, if i didnt stare at the pictures for a long time, it would take me three minites tops to read this book. Not like its a dead end ether. They DEFINENTLY could have added another 50 pages, well i could anyway. They SHOULD end it when Scorage dies. A grat battle with Firestar would be very interesting. At least Erin Hunter, make Fall of Scorage or something. It would be #2 in the Scorage manga series. It would start with the big battle with Firestar, then you could see where Scourge goes when hes dead. Not StarClan, you could make something up. Well thats problem number one. Problem number two is thet theres not enough fighting. Even though im a girl, i like fighting, they could have made the fights longer too. More like three in a half stars. Your choice if you wanna buy it. Its a very quick read.

Ok, this might be nothing, but in this Managa Scourge's mother Quince says that his father was a ginger cat. I am guessing that the cat in question is Red Tail. It can't be Rusty (aka Firestar) because the way the book reads, Rusty would have been either not born yet or younger than Scourge. Unless of course Red Tail is the father of both Rusty and Scourge. But again, this is just a theory.

Overall this was a carefully thought out story and it gives you an insight on how Tiny became Scourge.

Scourge had a miserable life as the runt of the litter. His brother and sister looked down on him. It was weird to see that Scourge and Firestar were kin. Jake and Quince were their parents! If Firestar knew that he would've been devastated .

I gave this manga one star because, I hated reading it, I like how short it is so I took only a few minutes. I also like the Erins reasoning at the beginning. I also dislike the art because, it`s bad. I also dislike how the way Tigerstar died and Scourge`s expression afterwards changed. Overall, I recommend avoiding this.

I have always loved Scourge. He is my favorite cat in the whole series ( well.....besides Silverstream) and this manga's artwork is amazing! The whole book had me amazed,as always with any of the books in the Warriors sereis

This is a great chronology of the life of Scourge, or, more accurately, his rise to power. It details how exactly he did it, as well as focusing upon his rough early life. The art is very good, and I enjoyed watching him become the cat that was feared by all. As with all Warriors manga books, it was a little short, but I believe that the art and enjoyable story line well make up for it.

This was short, like all Warriors manga, but I still found it considerably enjoyable. This evil BloodClan leader goes from the cute, fluffy kitten Tiny into the feared Scourge. It provided a good backstory, though there were a few minor annoyances - cats' pupils become large, not slits, when they are frightened, and Tigerpaw/claw/star was drawn weirdly. Out of all the manga, though, I liked Bettina Kurkoski's art the best! They should definitely do another collaboration.

This is the best Warriors Manga book there is! The illistrations are great, so is the storyline. I used to hate Scourge, but now I feel some pity for him, being bullied by his littermates. Tigerstar is the reason Scourge is bad. Want to know how? Read the book!

See the awesome adventure of how a sweet little kitten can become a blood-thirsty killer.Becoming king of a town full of stray cats, he soon grows a reputation for driving out dogs and protecting the strays. It's super great! Oh yeah, it's a graphic novel.

It was really good, and I recommend it to warrior fans , the only flaw was the story pages. It was short, Erin should have put more pages.
That makes me this k its not worth 5.99$, but hey, I still love it!!

I loved this book, even though it had the usual problems warriors manga has, story length, lack of story detail, etc. I liked it because I had always wondered what made the delightfully vicious little cat the way he was, and now we find out! Unfortunatly there cannot be another book about him because he is killed, but I hope there is a similar book to this. I liked the illistrations, she did a great job capturing the cat's emotions. I thought Tigerstar looked a little weird, and so did the humans, but I loved the way they put Thisleclaw, Bluefur and Tigerpaw in the begining! I'd often wondered what Thisleclaw had been like.

Altogether a great buy!

I was very dissapointed when I got this one. I waited a VERY long time for this (since late '06, when the plans for this book were made). I thought it was just rushed, and it made Scourge seem so immature. It wasn't "bad", but it wasn't "good".
