The storyline was good. I've been a fan of the series and can't wait to see what's in store for the other brothers. I like how the author mentions the past books she has written and ties those into what's going on with Tyler.

I couldn't stand Ellie, Tyler's choice in girls. She didn't have any qualities that I thought a Maddox man should be attracted to. I loved Tyler and thought he deserved better. I would give all the other books in this series a 5. Just not this one.

I read this knowing what others had said. I loved reading this series but found some stories were better than others. I can't wait to read another series.
This book was definitely not my favorite.

This is the first time that I have ever felt the need to write a review. I have to say that I have read the whole series and have been unimpressed after the first book until now! This story is perfect, and the characters are amazing. Great book!

Honestly, Beautiful Burn was just boring. The characters were generally unappealing, which is important to me. I want to like and admire the characters but I didn't much in this story. In my opinion, the author portrayed Ellie as terribly selfish and spoiled in the beginning, I'm sure to show the drastic change in her character as the story evolved, but never quite redeemed her. Tyler was slightly more appealing, but not much. The only redeeming part was the storyline that included the alpine hotshot firefighters and what they do. Personally, I thought the story would have been much better if it had included more of that.

Jamie McGuire does it again!! Has anyone else fallen in love with each and everyone of the Maddox brothers like I have?? They each have their own personality, which is hard to do as a writer so kudos there! Love love love!

I think this was my least favorite in the series. For one thing there's no epilogue like in the other books. Probably because Ellie and Tyler have died of lung cancer. Like literally they spend half of this story smoking. I'm not even kidding. I didn't dislike the story, but it was kind of predictable. I wish I had better thoughts about it but it is what it is. This book really needed an epilogue in the future like the others. I feel kind of let down.

I had so much difficulty writing this headline for my review so I just want to say right off the bat, this was more than just a romance in so many ways. Yes you'll get your beautiful romance, but this book also covers what addiction looks like so perfectly, I'm still in complete awe of this author. She always manages to write the perfect alpha male and heroine and this last book of the series did not disappoint.
I loved Tyler just as much as I loved all the other Maddox men. While Travis is still my absolute favorite, I would put Tyler as my close second. This book hit a very difficult subject but Jamie McGuire portrayed it all perfectly. While I wanted to shake Ellison multiple times for not taking anyone’s help (especially Tyler’s), It’s important to remember that an alcoholic needs to want help themselves before going out and getting help from a clinic or somewhere else. It’s easy to get frustrated with Ellison but that’s because she’s an alcoholic, and it wouldn’t be a beautifully well-written story if we weren’t tearing up and yelling at her to make a change. Even with this addiction, I loved Ellison and thought she was the absolute perfect woman for Tyler. He went through hell for her, loving her every step of the way, and if that doesn’t make a perfect book boyfriend, I don’t know what does.
Again, I just want to remind everyone that Ellison IS an alcoholic and you WILL become frustrated with her but that’s what addiction looks like. Just because Tyler loved her and would do anything to help her, doesn’t mean she can suddenly become cured from this. It’s horrible, but often times an alcoholic has to hit rock bottom to see that they actually have a problem. Many of these reviews didn’t like this character and I strongly believe it’s because of how well Jamie McGuire portrayed an alcoholic. If you’re looking for a helpless girl with a drinking problem who immediately stops once she meets a Maddox, you’re looking in the wrong place. Ellison was a strong character start to finish and demonstrated the struggles of being an addict perfectly. Tyler couldn’t help her but that was what made me love this book so much. He stayed by her side, no matter how bad it got, but in the end, she had to make the decision to get help herself.

Hooked from the beginning. Never disappointed when it comes to Jamie's writing. She has a unique way of making the reader feel every emotion. When I laugh out loud, smile and cry real tears...you know it's good.

Sorry to say it but I can't even finish this book. Jamie McGuire is the real first author I fell in love with when I read beautiful disaster/walking Disaster and I preordered all the other Maddox brother stories as I was able to and where they never measured up to Travis and Abby, the stories were still well worth the wait and money not this one though. I hated Ellison from the beginning and I figured I would start to like um no. From the moment she slept with her sister's love I was totally over her. She's a trash bag and I can't stomach her. Can your rewrite this finale please????

I wish I could say that I loved this book. But it really fell short of the things I love about all the other books she writes. I really couldn't identify with the main character and the storyline was not as creative as her other books. It did not hold my attention at all and I really couldn't feel the love in their relationship as much as the previous books.

I love the Maddox brothers, but unfortunatelly this was another disappointment for me.
First of all, the plot was very predictable. Same as we've seen before.
But what really turned me off was the heroine. I really dislike promiscuous heroines (shoot me). They haven't even said hi and she slept with him? What on earth? It kills the romance. It was really sad that McGuire did the same to America too in her book.
Basically, a slutty, alcoholic, spoiled brat for whom a Maddox boy unexplicably falls head over heels in love with.
I really wish McGuire had created better female characters that were worthy of the Maddox men. None of them were except Abby and America.
This "act like a bitch, play hard to get and a Maddox will follow you like a puppy dog" plot got old fast.

This book was really bad! I would've stopped reading but wanted to see what happens with the Maddox boys. There was absolutely no romance and I kept wondering what he saw in her...no chemistry between them at all! Even when she finally gets sober...she still is annoying.

Jamie gets real and deep with this one. She takes it to a whole new level with Beautiful Burn! I dare say that Ellie and Tyler might be my favorite couple in all of the Maddox Brothers series.
Ellison is one bad ass chick. She is so real and very enjoyable to read. Tyler is true to the Maddox characteristics. He is sexy, charming, goes for the girl who is not easy, and loves and fights fiercely no matter what is thrown his way.
The story was absolutely enthralling. I didn't want it to end. There were so many scenes and events that I just loved. Jamie is a master at story line placement and timelines. She always surprises you in the most delicious way.
This may have been the last book in the Maddox Brothers series but it was the most enjoyable. I cannot believe I am saying this because I have loved all of the books. However there was SO much about this book that rounded out the Beautiful series and brought it all full circle to me. I loved every minute, and every word on the pages.

I am going to be gratingly honest when I say that after the first few chapters, I was done. Done. Ellison was not a character I wanted to read about. I had no desire to continue. However, I decided that I needed to stop and decompress before doing anything rash. So I did. I set the book aside, and after much deliberation decided that Jamie McGuire has more than earned my trust over the years. I owed her some blind faith. It was time to take a leap.
So I lept.
I lept right into Tyler Maddox.
Next to Travis, I am almost certain that Tyler has to be my favorite Maddox brother. Yes, I just went there. There was a unique softness to Tyler that I never picked up on with any of the other brothers. Yes, they all have huge hearts wrapped in tattoos, but Tyler was different. Tyler is different. He didn't need a woman to tame his wild Maddox ways. He had already grown into that man. In Tyler, being a Maddox wasn't a characteristic, it was a quality.
Ellie took a lot more time to win me over. I realize now that Jamie McGuire very much intended for me to feel all sorts of hostile disdain for Ellie in the beginning. We were suppose to see her at her worst, and it was bad. So bad, it made me not want to read anymore. Definitely a new meaning to the phrase, "rock bottom." I'm so glad I didn't give up. Her growth was amazing. However, since the book encompassed such a huge amount of time, requiring large time gaps between scenes, it was sometimes hard not to see her initial transition as rushed. I kept on having to remind myself about the passage of time.
This was a reoccurring problem for me throughout the book. The big gaps sometimes gave the essence that something was missing, and I missed it. I missed the in between.
I guess it's always a problem of wanting more.
Speaking of more. My absolute favorite part about this novel was the time Ellie spent with the Hotshots. I cherished every moment. I would have loved more, more, more of this. There was so much this book had to include, so I understand things having to be scaled down, but I would have loved more scenes of Ellie and her boys. More scenes of Ellie at the fires. Seriously, I could read a whole book about Ellie and the Hotshots. When they all stood up for her at the bar, I died. I seriously died in a gooey puddle on the floor, and I might have even clapped. I just loved everything about this, them....the whole thing. Loved!!
The end was a bit rushed for me and I seriously could have done without the whole Paige drama, but Tyler and the Hotshots made everything worth it. Tyler's unconditional heart is what made this book so special. Hell, Ellie even won me over in the end, but it was Tyler that held everything together. I'm so glad I lept.

I have to say I really loved Tyler Maddox. I think he and Ellie showed a real side of love that's true. Love isn't always a bed of roses. Sometimes you get burned and then other times if you have love, patience and understanding of one another it can be a Beautiful Burn.

This was my least favorite of the beautiful disasters series. It didn't gab my attention nor pull at any heart stings. I felt it was there as an inbetween segment to fill some gaps from the other books. I was extremely over hyped for this book and it wasn't worth the 5.99 I paid for it. Extremely disappointed.

The problem I have with the Maddox Brothers series is they all over lap time-wise so in reading the fourth book I'm now reading same events that took place in previous books but from different characters perspective for the umpteenth time. Plus none of the other couples can hold a candle to Thomas and Liis from Beautiful Redemption. Beautiful Burn follows Ellison and Tyler (Taylor's twin brother). Tyler is an Alpine Hotshot, fighting wildfires in Colorado and Ellie is a photographer following the Hot shots. Ellie has a lot of personal issues she needs to deal with but instead she uses Tyler as a great distraction. Their story was just okay. Nothing stood out as riveting or a must read.

I'm so sad that Beautiful Burn is the fourth and final novel featuring the Maddox Brothers, but all good things must come to an end. Beautiful Burn was an excellent way to end the series and say goodbye. Jamie McGuire will always be one of my all time favorite authors, and while I might not have loved every Maddox Brother story, she still gave me a set of brothers that have a special place in my heart. This can be read as a standalone, but come on...you need to experience all of the Maddox Brothers, starting with Travis in Beautiful Disaster. It adds to the experience of these novels, and makes you love these books that much more.
This is Tyler's book, and let me tell you...I absolutely loved Tyler. Tyler is an Alpine Hotshot, who risks his life by fighting forest fires. He falls in love with Ellison, our main character. Ellison is the main reason I couldn't give this book 5 stars. I honestly strongly disliked her character for the majority of the book, except for certain moments. She was such a spoiled brat that I never actually got what Tyler saw in her, and because these boys are so important to me, every single one of them has to have a girl that is amazingly special. And for a good chunk of this book, I didn't think Ellison was that girl. There were parts where she showed potential, and these were the parts that I liked her. But then she would go back to her old ways, and I couldn't stand her. However, by the end, she won me over, and I did like them together. Tyler and Ellison had an interesting dynamic, one that is definitely unique and unlike any of the other brothers' relationships.
The one thing that I applaud Jamie McGuire for though is making Ellison a likable character by the end of the story. I think if any other author would have written this book, my feelings toward Ellison would have been much different. Heck, my rating would have been much different. But, because of the situations and issues that Ellison had to endure truly made her grow up, which is something she desperately needed.
The one thing I will say is that certain twists or "heart-pounding" moments weren't as twist-y or as heart-pounding because I already knew how things would turn out. This has always been something that I disliked about the timeline in this series, since every book basically overlaps. It made for a unique reading experience, and for the most part I always enjoyed it. But, it does take some of the surprise out of the story. Nevertheless, Jamie McGuire concluded this series well, and I highly recommend reading this if you are a fan of the Maddox Brothers. You'll love Tyler, and while you might not completely love Ellison immediately, she does turn things around in the end.
Happy reading :)

Beautiful Burn is the fourth and final book in The Maddox Brothers series. This book could be read as a standalone (as it is about Tyler). However, all of the books are connected. So if you are ever going to read them then they should be read in order (including Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster).
This book features Tyler Maddox a firefighter who is Taylor Maddox's twin brother.
The narrator is Ellison/Ellie, a spoiled brat/rich girl.
When the book begins we meet Ellison. And she is not very nice. She is not a very likable heroine. She is super rich. She is very mean. She has parties at her parents house and damages their property. I found her to be awful, inconsiderate and rude. I could not figure out how Tyler could be interested in somebody so mean. And I was wondering how she could ever be redeemed.
Something happens and Ellison's circumstances change. I actually really liked how this affected the story.
Tyler and Taylor are both Alpine Hotshots (they fight wildfires). This is such an intriguing profession. And it was very interesting to get to see so much of their job.
I really enjoyed Tyler. He is a great character. And I did end up enjoying his friendship with Ellison. It was an interesting story.
The timelines of these books are a bit weird. Usually in every other series I've read (even where the books all focus on different couples like these) the books take place chronologically (the first book takes place, then the second book takes place a bit later, and so on). But these books basically all take place at the same time. So we get cross-over scenes. It is definitely an interesting approach. However, it makes critical parts of the story non-events, since we already know what happened. There was a big dramatic thing that happened towards the end of the book. It should have been upsetting. It should have been a big twist. However, we already knew how it played out. So while it is interesting to get another perspective about the event. It is sort of weird to have the same story told over and over. There were 2 events that I have now seen 2, 3,4 or even 5 times. It starts to feel redundant seeing the same thing over and over.
I was definitely impressed that the author was able to take the most unlikable girl and make her interesting. The girl at the beginning of the book was completely unrelatable. But she ended up having to deal with real issues.
Overall, I feel like the book sort of just ended. And I would have liked to see a bit more, including an epilogue. However, Tyler was a gem and I really enjoyed his story.

I am a huge fan of the Maddox Brothers series. I felt this one fell so short. For a final book it just didn't have that awesome finale. Ellison's story didnt pull me in and I wished that we could've had more of a Maddox brother story. Seemed like we didn't get that for Tyler. There wasn't much to keep you pulled into the story. This was highly surprising coming from Jamie MCGuire. But I'm sad to see the Maddox Brothers come to an end.

Beautiful Burn is definitely a must read!! Jamie McGuire has done it again!! I was sucked in from the first word until the very last!! Mr. Tyler Maddox is definitely on fire and his relationship with the infamous Ellie is a scorcher and burns hot! I fell in love with another Maddox Brother! I think we love them all!! Tyler is a hotshot fire fighter and meets Ellie at a party and it is nonstop burning from then on. I don't want to Spoil anything, so you have to go out and grab you the latest Maddox Brother. You do get a glimpse at our other Maddox Brothers in the story. Makes it even hotter in here! lol Watching Tyler and Ellie's relationship is like being right there with them! Boss Lady had me laughing out loud, crying, and wanting to climbed into the book to shake the s*** out of a few peps. Also, we get a better glimpse at the Maddox Twins and that says it all right there. I mean two of them. Whoot Whoot!! I fell in love with Tyler Maddox and Ellie! Jamie had me wanting to reach in a lick Tyler....I mean who wouldn't :) But, I also wanted to hug Ellie and tell her she's got this at different times in the book! Tyler has you wanting to fight for them just as hard as he is!! Ellie wants the fight too, she just has to learn how. Beautiful Burn is raw, emotional, a gut and heart wretching battle about addiction, conquering yourself, loving yourself, learning how to live and breathe, but most importantly about falling so deep in love you can never get out or even want to!! Jamie McGuire has a talent and a way of making you fall head over heels for her peps!! Excellent and Amazing job Boss Lady!!

I've read this entire series and this book is the one I liked the least. I did not like the lead female character Ellie. In all of the other books the characters could be abrasive, yet still have redeeming qualities. Not true here. In fact, most of the characters in this book were unlikable e and undeveloped. I couldn't get a true reading on Tyler. He came off weak and somewhat whiny. Sad that the series ended on this note.

He stayed by her side, no matter how bad it got, but in the end, she had to make the decision to get help herself.

I have been reading some of the reviews and I guess we just have different opinions. I really liked this book. Then again I enjoy books that tend to be on the raw and gritty side much like this book was. Ellie is fsr more broken then anyone realizes. Deep down she is just a girl looking for someone to love her. Her party girl antics and her bad girl vibes immediately draw in Tyler. He soon realizes that Ellie may be more than he bargained for but he can't seem to get her out of his head. Eventually they are drawn into a situation that brings them closer but Ellie can't seem to be happy or let Tyler love her. Tyler being the ever amazing Maddox will not give up. He will do everything it takes to make Ellie realize they belong together even if he has to let her go. This was a beautiful love story. It's not hearts and flowers but real life at it's darkest.

I'm still a little out of words for this one because it was just so freaking amazing. The best book in the Maddox Brothers series. I wish I could give 6, 7, 8 or 9 stars.
I loved Ellie, definitely the best female main charakter in a long time at least for me. She's not the sweet, nice or normal girl, no she's a bad ass in so many ways and it was very refreshing for me to read a book with a femaile character who's totally "anti heroine".
I don't need to say anything to Tyler Maddox. He's just the sweetest guy and if his brother Travis weren't the first brother we met, Tyler would be my number one.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants to read something different and not the normal, boring love story. I also recommend this book to everyone who loves Jamie's previous books.

This book was really bad! I would've stopped reading but wanted to see what happens with the Maddox boys. There was absolutely no romance and I kept wondering what he saw in her...no chemistry between them at all! Even when she finally gets sober...she still is annoying.
