Oh how I loved Shepley in the Maddox brothers series so I was glad to get his story. Even though this was a novella, there is a lot of story in it.

America and Shepley are together and on their way to his parents' house but when a huge storm hits while they are traveling, their struggle to be together almost broke my heart. While separated, they are both in turmoil and you can feel their struggle. I love how well they work together as a couple and I love the emotions brought out in this book and I think I fell for Shepley just a little more.

I enjoyed seeing how Shepley fell in love with America and some of the sweet moments we didn't see with Beautiful Disaster. But I was very disappointed in the length. We received full length novels on characters we briefly met. Why couldn't the same consideration have been given to these two. To me that was just too disappointing, considering how excited I was when I heard this novel, well novella, was being written.

America and Shep!!! One of my all time favorite couples!!! With this novella we get to see what Shep and America went through in their relationship. We get to visit with Travis and Pidge and we also get to see the wedding that America put together for Travis and Abby.... America and Shepley are in a hard place right now they want to move in together but America's parents won't support her if she does move in knowing that her grades will suffer. Will the distance make or break them???

Insert sad face here. Spoilers ahead
I wanted so much to love this. I think I had too high of expectations. I didn't feel the love between Mare and Shep and I love them. The chemistry in the perfect prologue was missing from the rest of the book. I wanted to watch their love grow but you really don't get that. You get them, then they are having issues. Then disaster of course. Then HEA. You get Abby and Travis, maybe too much. I wanted Shep and Mares epic love story, not them fighting, or not talking or being completely overshadowed by Tavis and Abby. Idk. I feel like this wasn't what I've been waiting so long for.
The thing I did love was when Shep talks about how he's always racing for the next thing, the next step. Where are they going, moving in, marriage, kids. He's not living in the NOW and it almost ruined them.

I loved it. You need to read the other books in the series to be able to understand America, Shepley and their family and friends. Many couples. It flows from freshman year of college to years after graduating. Wonderfully put together. A really beautiful series. All of them.

Love this short book!!! Well worth it took me the hour to read it. Super cute and made me laugh out loud at points. Then made me sucked in to find out what happens next. I usually read Jamie's books in a day. Can never put them down. Another A+ Jamie!! Good job!!!

As always the maddox series keeps me a devoted fan. Cannot wait for the next. Shep and America will take you to the ends of the earth finding each other after they literally are ripped apart. Loved seeing this side of America.

This was a cute, short story about the two characters Shep and Mare that we all wanted to know more about. Jamie McGuire gave us exactly what we all wanted and how the couple came into everyone heart from book one, lived their lives.

I was excited to read about America & Shepley. I liked the book but didn't love it. The time gaps were just too much and the 'drama' was a bit unrealistic to me. Loved reading about Abby & Travis though!

I loved Shep and Mare's story as much as I did Travis and Abby's!!! I fell in love with these 2 in Beautiful Disaster and was dying to know how their story went!!! It was a perfect addition to the series!!!

If you loved Shepley and America from travis and Abbie's book than you were probably as excited to learn more about them here but be warned, this story was still more about Travis and Abbie. There were to large of gaps in time between each chapter. It felt as if each chapter was a new story. It's still worth reading as long as you're aware of this you won't become frustrated like I was. Hoping that there story will be written in more detail, they deserve it

I SOOOO want to give 5 stars. I love all of Jamie's books. I've read all of the Maddox brothers stories and have even pre-ordered the last book. My favorite is Trenton and Cami's story. The one thing holding me back from giving 5 stars is at the end of this novella, there is a mistake on the relationships that just blew it for me. Shep is Jack's son not Jim's. I got confused and thought I had misunderstood FOUR books before this so I went back and checked myself. Having to do that took the fun out of what I had just read.

I LOVE the brothers all of them!! Travis still holds a place in my heart the most. This novella wasn't disliked I just feel it was rushed missing certain things. There was a lacking attachment to Mare and Shep. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed reading it but I just didn't seem that there was much to their story as the other boys. It's still worth having with the rest of the family.

5 starts for 'Something Beautiful'

I really loved this novella. Even though its not a full novel it was still packed with emotions and it still makes you feel every single one. I loved America and Shepley's relationship. You can tell they really do love each other. I cried near the end of this novella, it made me feel so much and I really connected with the characters. I love it.

This is definitely a novella as it is short. However, for as short as this story is, a lot happens over many years. It was great to get another glimpse at Travis and Abby and how Sheply and America grow together over the years. The huge year jumps though left a lot out and a lot of unanswered questions throughout.

My only complaint about this book was it was too short! Wow this short novella blew me away! So many ups and downs and twists! I had to re read it when I was done because I read it so fast the first time. Another Maddox boy to fall in love with. You need to add this book to your collection. Shepley and Americas story is just as touching as Travis and Abby's.

One road trip... The next step? Or the end of everything?

Wow! I have no words. How Jamie McGuire can put so many feels in such a short novella is beyond me. It's the perfect addition to the Beautiful Series and I loved reading more about Mare and Shep. Except for the prologue, it kinda starts where Beautiful Disaster left off, of course you get to meet Abby and Travis again but the main part is about their road trip and them trying to figure out where they're headed in their relationship.
You don't want to miss this brilliant novella and you won't be able to put it down until the very last page!
I loved it!

It was the shortest of the series and if you haven't read the rest it would seem kind of jumpy, so I'd recommend reading all her books before tackling this one. That said it is my favorite. I absolutely loved the turn this took from the rest. It fit with her style yet it was so different. Loved it so much.

The story we have always wanted to hear...America and Shepley. Something went down that didn't end on great terms, but we get to hear all about it and their tumultuous relationship. Amazingly written by the awesome Jamie McGuire.

It was ok. Too short to be good. Boring start but picked up as the story progressed. A tad predictable. But my emotions were stirred during the main event. A decent bonus but it's no big deal if you don't read it.

Wow, I almost had nightmares when I didn't finish this before going to bed! You will need to read the entire EXCITING book as fast as you can. The suspense is great! I love Shep and America as a couple and you get to see what happens after the wedding of Travis and Abby. I highly recommend this read.

I could not put this book down. I finished it in three sittings. I had to know what was next for American and Shepley. I started this morning and ended it this evening. I couldn't walk away from this book. I love the Maddox brothers, but their cousin is right there with them.

Awwww I loved this book!! I have loved Shepley and America since book 1. I am so glad they got their own cute little book. Shepley is more of a lover than a fighter but he also still has the Maddox temper too. I saw the temper come out a few times in this book. America is still a little spitfire and I love her even more now. These two different follow in the footsteps of the other Maddox’s they set their own pace. At times, I held my breath and was very nervous but in the end it was amazing as always!! Love Jamie’s books! Can’t wait for the next one!!

Jaime you have done it again. I enjoy your stories so much. This series in particular has held my interest. I feel like part of the Maddox Family. I love all the boys so far and sad there's only one left to go. I am so happy that you wrote this one in particular since I loved Shepley since his part in Beautiful Disaster. Cried through most of this one but absolutely loved the ending.

You just can't go wrong with a Jamie McGuire book OR a Maddox. Shep may not be a brother, but he is still a full-blooded Maddox boy and I have always loved his relationship with Mare. This gives a better glimpse into their love.

Here's something a bit different: I was almost in tears while reading this novella. TEARS! Not only does this book have spunk, sass, romance, and fighting, it has heartbreak.

"Close your eyes, baby."

This is a amazing book Shep got what he's wanted America and the new baby on the way in his cousin Travis and Abby with twins on the way. It was hard going first but Shep went through tornadoes to get to America to agree to marry him I love this book thank you Ruby Miller.

WOW, just WOW!!! Even though this book is a little shorter than the others it is truly packed with all the Maddox details that we all have come to expect. I truly enjoyed America and Shepley's story! And just with each of the books you fall in love with another Maddox boy.
Happy reading : )

Jamie McGuire is the best. For serious. So many emotions packed in one quick novella, I can't believe what I just read, only in a good way of course. Shepley Maddox is so adorable cute, from today on he has a huge part of my heart. America is awesome. She's so different as we used to know her kinda serious, but also still sassy. I love that we get a lot of Travis and Abby in this novella and we also get a lot of answeres to questions we all want to know for so long. :)
As a die hard Beautfiul Disaster fan I highly recommend this novella to you, but be sure you read the other books in the Maddox Brothers series first, because you'll just spoil yourself with reading this novella. And trust me when I say you won't miss any Maddox Brothers book.

Wish was longer. Too short! I live this series and America was one of my favorite characters but now that I learned what she is really like inside. Ehhhh. I don't really like her. So I was a little disappointed. I liked getting more dialoge and glimpses at Abby and Travis. Was a page turner and finished in one day. Was left wanting more.
