Interesting story of Brooklyn & Nate and their relationship over the years from that one night in a truck in high school to an unexpected meeting years later on a business trip with friends to re-connect. Apparently they both have issues some more so than others. Trust is a two way street. Can they manage to navigate the traffic of their past and past issues to get to a better loving future? Red Velvet Cupcakes and therapy may be the key. Quick read and pretty entertaining.

Absolutely loved this book! I'm not sure I understand why this author has an obsession with writing about baseball players but whatever. I do understand why people were giving this book not so great reviews, I get the wishy washy was kind of annoying but if you're able to look past all that you'll love it. Wish there was a better ending with his issues with his mom & maybe a bit more drama with the ex but other than that I really enjoyed this book.

One of my favorite authors. This book was as good as her others. Brooklyn and nate had a night when they were in high school. 8 years later Brooklyn is happily engaged to another man when Nate reappears in her life. I was worried that there would be cheating. There is no cheating. Instead there is a tragedy that brings Nate and brooklyn together again. I enjoyed the pace of the book and the resolution of the past

Not very thrilled of multiple partners and no self respect main woman character. It's annoying why most authors easily portrays a weakling woman in their story. Kind of a woman who will let their men emotionally abused them.

I enjoyed this book very much. The main character was relatable with all her flaws and feelings. While her story was heartbreaking at times, I was able to leave the book fulfilled with the ending (or beginning) to Brooklyn's story. I highly recommend this novel. It is a delightfully quick read not because of lack of content but because the author's writing style is great and flows very well.

Another emotional rollercoaster. Piece of advice don't read this in public, unless you don't get embarrassed about being emotional. I enjoyed the second chance that Nate had with Brooklyn. The relationship with their best friends was a close one, that many envy. The issues they both have to resolve is what makes for the emotional rollercoaster, and the enjoyable read.

I loved this story. It hit home on so many levels. Any relationship is hard if it's dealing with first love, jealousy, heart break , or grieving. But at the same time happiness, love, hopes and dreams. This story of Brooklyn and Nate touched my heart personally as a widow, dealing with the feelings of moving on and finding happiness again. I would recommend anyone who wants to read a hot romance, and second chances to read this.

I read a lot of romances, good and bad, pornogrqphic and not pornographic. This one story has something many books don't - a true story line. I loved being able to really get to know the characters and their flaws. For once, I didn't have to read about a perfect girl and a perfect guy. I'm not going to fill you in with story details, that will be covered with the story synopsis and other reviews. But this romance actually has a story. Take a chance and you won't be surprised. I'll share my review to my fb friends, that's how much I loved it.

Be My Reason by Samantha Christy is a cool romance story that is well thought out and reads well.
I enjoyed every page of this novel as it just sucked me in! The romance here is hot and steamy together with humor. You just won't want to stop reading this book until it ends.
Samantha Christy in this book tells the story of Brooklyn Vaughn - a great girl whose love life was shattered by a man she loved. Nathan Riley is a guy who won't trust any woman and became a play boy because of his mother's actions and life disappointments.
You really want to discover what happens when these two met as the story develops? A lovely story that is very engaging and really enjoyable.

I couldn't finish. Their "do I love him or don't I" drama was too much. Even after they got together, it every conversation and action was so melodramatic that they annoyed the ever lovn' crap out of me. Their relationship was very juvenile and after so much drama, their affection sounded forced. So much over reaction. Eghh! Not for me.

This was a great book this was my first time reading this author and I must say I would read her agin. I would love more of Nate and Brooklyn’s story. It grabs you right off and then has you wanting to keep reading cause you have to no what’s going to happen. It’s sweet and a little sad, fun and sexy. This book was fantastic highly recommend it.

It’s a feel good love story with twists and turns. I love the friendship between Brooklyn and Emma. The special bond they have together is amazing. I was rooting for Michael in the story too bad he got killed off early. It would be a different twist if he survived. Nonetheless it’s a cute romantic flick.

Good writing. Decent plot. I struggled with the beginning, how Brooklyn and Nate got together; it was way too insta-y for me. Then when they got back together, Nate was over-the-top jealous. And the ending felt rushed. There were a few other little things that bugged me.

This story has a lot of potential, good characters, but fell short for me. The good thing about books though is that everyone has different tastes, and there are plenty of people who will love this book!

4.5 Be My Reason is a tumultuous, emotional novel about first love lost and found. This is a complex story that follows the characters over several years. It takes an unflinching look at issues of love and trust, and the boundaries of friendship. As with any relationship, it’s not all pretty and glamorous. My one, small criticism of the book is that I would’ve liked to see more exploration of Nate’s perspective. However, overall I thought it was a really solid read. Samantha Christy is definitely going on my auto-buy list.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the 1st book I've read by Samantha and I loved it! It grabbed me from the start and I read half of it in one day (would of read more, but had to get to bed at 1:00 am!). I loved Nate and Brooklyn and their love story. This is a sweet romance with heartbreak, second chances, and learning to trust again. I will definitely read all of Samantha's books and I definitely recommend you read this one!

It sounds like Nate's dad had a lot to with his self-exile although he lays all the blame at his mother's feet. Yes she was the catalyst but pride seemed to be the main reason for the forced move. His trust issues are worrisome as well as his temper.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were likeable, well written and the story was paced really well. I never felt like things were rushed along to the conclusion. There's humor, angst, heartbreak and everything in between in this story. It really is quite a journey and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a solid read. Very refreshing and not something you've felt like you've read before!

A true love story –with real hurt, turmoil and messy past, all rolled up in to the melodramatic with a few tear jerkers. Be My Reason started with an epilogue that will certainly hook you and pull you along for the ride.

I felt that the base of the story - main character, Brooklyn has a hang-up about a teenage crush that went sour, she’s now an adult, get over it –was a little corny but the plot was competently fleshed out by Samantha Christy that makes it explodes into a very sexy love story.

Nice book with a believable (sort of) plot. One star off for the main female character occasionally being a massive doormat & somewhat wimpy, but understandable given her circumstances. Would recommend.

Let’s be honest, Nate was obnoxious. And I don’t think he redeemed himself. He was manipulative and abusive simply because she had a friend. I don’t care what his past was like; he broke stuff in anger over her having a friend. That is not okay. And he fact that her friends went behind her back to set them up? No. Just no. Swing and a miss for me.

Samantha Christy has done it again. Every book you write blows me away. I laughed and cried and was mad then happy. I love a book that makes me go through all the emotions . Great story. Loved it!!!!

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author for an honest review. This is the first book I have read of Samantha Christy's and I was very pleased. The story flowed well, I fell in love with all the characters and it was just an overall great story. The one thing I wish this book had was an epilogue. I'm hoping there will be a continuation of the story at some point in the future. Great job; this author has gained a new fan.

The problem with many romance novels is that they are often too predictable and not very relatable or memorable. Not twenty pages into Be My Reason, I knew I was reading something special. The characters are very real and down to earth—full of realistic thoughts, insecurities, wit, sarcasm and charm. I felt any one of the characters could walk off the pages of the book and fit perfectly into my circle of friends. Samantha Christy’s style of writing immediately reminded me of one of my favorite authors, Colleen Hoover.

However, as much as I appreciate the realism aspect, I read romance novels as an escape—an exciting break from reality. In that department, Samantha Christy does not disappoint either! Brooklyn and Nate’s unique love story is filled with unpredictability, twists, turns and hot passion. I am quite impressed with this debut author’s quality of writing and storytelling ability. I’d say she has a bright future ahead of her and I cannot wait to read her next novel!

This book blew my socks off!! There were so many intense scenes that I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time. It made me laugh and it made me cry.
I thought the characters had great personalities and the story was very believable. It was so easy to put myself into Brooklyn's shoes.
Although this book stands on its own, I would love to see what happens if there is a sequel!

This novel is great! The characters are very believable and have you rooting for them to get together. Steamy love scenes and the leading character's humorous thoughts, keep the reader interested all the way through. Written in first person, which is a refreshing change. Good read!!

I laughed, loved and cried with Brooklyn Vaughn as she struggled with feelings for a long lost love from her past. I gave this 5 stars because I couldn't put it down, staying up way past midnight a couple nights in a row.
This is very well written with real characters having real needs. If this is your first book, Samantha Christy, I can't wait to read the next one!

This book is a captivating, quick read for women who remember their first "crush", which means many of us; for women who experienced love's challenges and hurts, which means some of us; and especially for women who relish a great love story, which means most of us! Although the characters have some personal issues, they are such likeable people that the reader keeps rooting for them to succeed in their relationship.

I was given this book to read from a Friend. I enjoyed this book and the Author did a great job. I did find it a little predictable at times but mostly I loved it. I have since read a couple more of her books and I think I will continue to read her books as I enjoy how she writes and I like that each book has a different story line. Go and find her other books, you wont be disappointed.

Well, 5 star ratings aside, I had issues with this book. First of all, no one told me to have tissues handy so I was blind sided. I hate how they resolved the "Michael issue". Nate has serious problems and personally I would not trust him at all. JMHO.

A great romance novel that had me turning the pages quickly to find out what was going to happen with Brooklyn and Nate. A love story that made one feel the characters happiness, pain, lust, loneliness, sadness........ While reading one was never really sure how their story would end. Great writing.

It was hard putting this book down. The story was intriguing. I always enjoy romances that begin in high school. Tears came to my eyes a couple of times. Well written. Looking forward to more novels from this author.

I loved this book! I love this author! She gives her characters so much depth that emotions really come out in the story. Brooklyn and Nate have one night together while in high school and then he is gone. She is crushed by that and not knowing why he left. This stays with her until she meets Michael and can move on. Nate has been going through his own issues and is not the same person he used to be. It is now ten years later and they meet by chance. I am not going to do a spoiler and tell you what happens. I will say that your emotions will be all over the place thinking of Brooklyn, Michael and Nate. The author gives us some other great characters that add a lot to the story, Emma, Graham and Ryan to add a few. The name of the book and the song have so much meaning. I would suggest, as I did myself, think of when you were 17 and what were your hopes and dreams for the future? After ten years were you successful in achieving your dreams? This book is an emotional roller coaster but in the ride their are ups and downs that get us to the end. Great book and will highly recommend it! Samantha Christy has become one of my favorite go to authors when looking for a book to read.

And I feel like I’m always going to remember there characters. Nate’s way of being made me upset many times. But he always Found His Reason ; Brooklyn. Definitely reading more from this same author!

The feelings from this encounter follows her for several years. She finally tries love again and everything is good when she meets her past face on. She tried to finally get some closure and go on with a wonderful life she has planned just to face tragedy again.
