The Dark-Hunters (The Collection Thus Far) (Dark-Hunter Novels)

I am 80% through the books and I have loved everyone of them. I do recommend reading then on order. I read House of the Rising Sun and Stixx first. I will go over then again when I get to them in the reading order and I think I will understand better. My husband is from New Orleans and after many visits there, I can tell you they are authentic and I would highly recommend them. Keep them coming Sherrilyn!!!

I purchased this collection when it was on sale (thank goodness) and have worked my way through the first six books hoping with each one that there will be some improvement on the writing and characters. Kenyon does get marginally better as the series continues but her writing lacks cohesiveness, her characters don't differentiate well and tend toward caricatures, and she seems to prefer to wave a magic wand to resolve her plot lines.

However, this series does have a lot of action and is chock full of humor. Despite disliking the first three books I kept reading, and I can understand how she became a publishing phenomenon. It is clear she has an amazing imagination and I like getting a peek into it. There is a HUGE cast of characters and ton of worldbuilding to recommend this series.

Overall, less discerning readers may not mind Kenyon's writing quirks and plot and worldbuilding holes. Picky readers like me may not like this series but it does have huge entertainment value - it's just not something I would ever bother to reread or purchase as new installments are released. If you are a choosy reader head to the library for this one.

If you are not familiar with Kenyon do not purchase this collection at full price until you have tried and are sure you love her books. Otherwise you will most likely be sorely disappointed. The $19.99 sale was an incredible deal, and I don't feel like I wasted my money. I'm a huge PNR fan, and while I prefer other series I appreciated the opportunity to add this series to my library.

I have read, read, reread, etc. ... I particularly love having the collection so I can read and reread the Dark-Hunter series, which I have to say is just incredible! Kudos to Ms. Kenyon on her complex and suspenseful yet heart-wrenching incredible soul searing love stories! Kenyon nails this complex genre, which is in a League (lol) of its own! The only thing I would love to have published is an audio version of this particular collection. there are some novellas not included but in the collection all of the intense and important plot development and completion is included. I love that Kenyon not only has written an incredibly large story arc and has combined mini story plots and arcs that all come together. Also, I would like to see CON in a collection that ties both of the series together. Can we get a 'League" collection Ms. Kenyon? Thanks for your incredible stories, which creates an incredible fantasy world to escape to! Love the DH!! :-)

I love, love, love these books. I could not get enough of the interaction between the dark hunters. It told their stories and the reasons behind these stories. A wonderful way to spend time reading and immersing yourself in to another world.

I have nearly all of these books either in paperback or hardcover, though I am missing some. This would be perfect for me!! So not only will I have every book, I can continue to read without out stopping!!
