I am an avid fan of Lora Leigh, and especially the Breeds series, but this one was amazing. While full of steamy sensuality, and beyond erotic conversation between Seth and Dawn, this book is also rife with poignant and even heartbreaking moments. Very reminiscent of Elizabeth's Wolf. The content between Cassie and Dash was definitely tear worthy.Wolf Breeds: Elizabeth's Wolf (Book 4) (Ellora's Cave) Plus for all of the fans of the series you get a ten year jump into the future, to see what is going on with some of my/your favorite characters from previous books. So prepare yourself. Dawn's Awakening will cause you to require a cold shower, and a tissue. Lora Leigh has definitely taken her writing and this series to a whole new level. Congratulations, I look forward to the next book with bated breath.

This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat. It was a nonstop action packed, love riddled, heart pounding read. I will warn you that this book isn't for the faint of heart. It touches on some issues that leave you feeling raw and stripped of emotion. Dawn's Awakening has just became one of the best book in this series.

After Tanner's Scheme, I really expected something more from Dawn's book. I have read all the Breed books (Back to Callan from Ellora's Cave), and I was disappointed. There was still a good back story with Cassie the wolf-breed girl, who is now in her late teens. However, I found Dawn to be tiresome. The story is good and does have the Happily-Ever-After that Dawn deserves, but something was missing. Lora Leigh usually has something a bit more. The love scenes weren't as steamy as we are used to and the action was not as dynamic. For those fans of the Breed series, it is a must read. Just don't expect what you have gotten from Megan's Mark, Harmony's Way or Tanner's Scheme.

This review will not be very helpful to you, but I hope it will be helpful to me.

I'm not sure I can finish this book. It received good reviews so that's why I picked it up - first time author for me. I'm trying to like it, but I'm having a hard time overlooking the author's continued use of the f-word. If it's thrown in once or twice a book no problem, but once or twice a page gets insulting. I guess I'm old fashion as this just takes the romance out of romance books for me.

Is there anybody out there that can recommend a good contemporary romance book? I'm not looking for a "saintly" romance book, but I don't want to be cringing every other page either.

Maybe at 45 I'm turning into a prude and should just stick with my favorite romance era - historicals!!

Drama, love, mystery all rolled in one. I kept reading the book from start to finish in spite of time. It was 4am when i finally finished, ha. Good book to read but need to read other books to understand this.. go to Lori Leigh's website and clink in breeds chronically order books. Good luck! I love all her books as well.

They were created in a bioengineering science lab with the DNA of the wolf and cats added to human DNA so that they could serve as a ferocious army of a fanatical society where security is everything. Their military slavery ended when the world learned of their existence and forced them to be freed. The heat of the Breed binds their mate to them for life. The breed's base is Sanctuary where they learn to adapt to living amongst humans and many obtain work as mercenaries and bodyguards to the purebreds who detest them.

Businessman Seth Lawrence, who supports Sanctuary, knows he is the lifemate of Dawn, but the torture including rape she endured makes her unable to mate with him. After seeing tapes of what she suffered, Seth stepped away from his beloved to give her space. His Board of Directors meets on his island to discuss future contributions to Sanctuary. Dawn and Seth begin to feel the heat again, but as they begin to make love, bullets fly through the window, wounding him and killing a board supporter. They give in to their passion and become mates as she realizes he always loved her, but stayed away out of concern for her. She becomes his lover and bodyguard, but neither realizes she is the focus of an unknown adversary, not him.

The latest Lora Leigh's homage to the X-Men (see MEGAN'S MARK and HARMONY'S WAY) stars a great lead pairing who the audience will like and root for. The bioengineered breeds seem genuine as the love story is beautifully told while the backdrop of hatred and prejudice make for an exhilarating saga similar to what occurred to the early X-Men (ask Magneto).

This is the third book I've read by this author (and the first in this series) and it really held my interest. It would probably help to go back and read some of the others, which I will do. I empathized with Dawn and the storyline between Seth and her was believable. Good plot and good sex. Not as much erotic sex as in the other two books I read of LL's, which were published by Ellora's Cave, but that's fine. The story and characters are compelling. Sexual tension is really important to me in a romance novel, and this book has that.

Really liked it.

While the sex scenes are hot, the rest of the story is contrived at best as is the usual "they want each other but can't quite have each other" reasoning. The details of her childhood torture are brought up again, and again, and again. I also really don't like it that the author spends so much time on Dawn's feelings about being abandoned by God and Seth's feelings that God never abandoned her. I don't want a Christian sermon served inside my romance novel.

I absolutely loved this book. Lora Leigh definitely drags emotions out of the reader. When Dawn finds out that Seth no longer experiences the mating heat that she's been going through for the longest time... that's when the fireworks begin. Dawn is a strong female and she's sharp but she's also vulnerable throughout the book. Her memories play havoc with her life and her need to be with Seth. I loved it. *Two thumbs up for Lora Leigh*

This was a book I'd been looking forward to once I discovered the Breed's series, and boy was I not disappointed. I actually gasped when Seth and Dawn were thrown back together and (SPOILER) she discovered that they weren't mated any longer. This is a very emotional book, and you feel complete empathy for both of these characters and the struggles they're going through. No one deserves love more than these two. One of the best books of the whole series.

This book was a great addition to Lora Leigh's Breeds. The characters of Seth and Dawn were well suited to one another. The ending of the book left me anticipating future books in the series, especially Cassie's story.

Its a great story with a shocking twist at the end. Lora Leigh is a great writer with an amazing imagination. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes the unusual, a good plot, romance and excitement.

Others can describe the story much better than I, and they have.

But only I can tell you how this book made me feel. Lora Leigh has created two heros - Dawn and Seth - who will make you sob with pain, and with joy as they fight for their happy ending. Their story gives hope that there is a mate out there for each of us, who will be our other half.

The only thing left to know about this book is that you must have it.

The extremely crude language is jarring and distracts from the story. Nevertheless the breed series is one of my favorites and very well written. Lora did a beautiful job of giving each character their own personality rather than recycle the same stereotypes.
