A story of Ivan continues in a new book. This time he is protecting the women that have been in his mindes since she was an innocent teenager. But lust, the attraction between Ivan and his Syn is strong and escalates in wild lovemaking. But to escape her family they make a compromise and fake soon become very real. Both Ivan and Syn are likable characters they made a really great readable story.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

This is the second book in the Brute Force series. I really enjoyed the book, it is a romantic suspense. It has a lot of twist and turns in the plot that kept me on my toes. The characters are well developed and the pace was excellent. It is an unlikely love story between two people who feel love is not in their future and it was great to see them get their happy ending. I read the first book in the series, but I feel this could be read as a stand alone.

*Given ARC through NetGalley for honest review

I wasn't sure about this book at first but ended up really enjoying the story. The main problem I had was being unsure the age difference between "Syn" & Ivan. Once I found out it wasn't quite as much as I thought, I was able to enjoy their developing relationship. This is a great continuation of the Brute Force series, & I can't wait to read Beau's story next. Highly recommend this book!

Non-stop action from beginning to end. It isn’t always clear if Ivan is a criminal or not. All indications are that he is, but it sounded like he was working to make things more legitimate. Journey at times seems like she isn’t very strong, but the progression of the story shows that impression to be incorrect. The scenes between them are pretty hot. Only real criticism is that after they are both shot, there seems to be no mention of it.

I was a little concerned when I found that this was going to be about Ivan and Syn I mean Syn was his daughter Amara’s friend and though I don’t have a problem with some age difference I was concerned. Then I found out that Ivan created Amara when he was just 13 oy. If you like a story that is high energy and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what could happen next you are certain to enjoy Dagger's Edge.

#2 in the Brute Force series. This novel has all the requirements of a steamy romance! There is also a lot of suspense thrown in there. I feel that I need to go back and read the first book however in order to understand parts of this one. It is definitely a good series for me and I highly recommend it. Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have been a Lora Leigh fan for years. I have always loved her books. With that said, I found this one hard to finish. The story and characters just didn't keep my interest. The story was slow and I didn't feel that the characters had a real, believable connection. I hope this is an anomaly and her next book is back to un-put-downable like in the past.

Hmmm...I am having a hard time reviewing this book, as I am a huge fan of Lora Leigh's, but not at all of this one. There was not really a solid plot, it was hard to follow, unrealistic, and confusing. I had to go back several times and re-read paragraphs to try to understand what was going on.

Lora Leigh’s Dagger’s Edge is the second book in the Brute Force series following the story of Amara with that of her father, Ivan. Ivan reconnects with Journey, whose father and grandfather have a long standing feud with Ivan and his family. Despite acrimonious family relationships the two quickly establish a relationship while trying to figure out who sent assassins after her – her family, her ex-fiancé? While this story has more of a plot line than its predecessor, a major focus of this book still seems to be building everything up around the sex scenes. I still like more of a story to my romances than that.

Hot, steamy, fast paced...and maybe a little confusing at times. I enjoyed it overall. I do think you should read the first book in the series before reading this one.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias.

I hoped, when I started this, that I would like it more than the first book in the series but sadly that was not to be. It's definitely a steamy read. Those looking for a new hot couple will likely enjoy the story of Ivan and Son (seriously?) but I wanted more. Thanks to Netgalley for the ArC.

I loved this book! It was fast paced, a little dark and oh so good! Ivan is alpha and dominant through and through. Journey is very innocent but tough as nails also. They are such a passionate couple. I received an advance review copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Full of intense action and fast-paced suspense, this second in the series follows the first in a story with twists and intrigue. The characters are interesting and maybe not all what they seem. The sex is steamy, the romance hot. I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

Ivan and Syn are both trying to forget their past but enemies won't let them. The chemistry between these two was scorching and intense. Another good read for the second book in the series.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

This book has a very intriguing plot but the writing left much to be desired. There was no cohesion to the story, and at times it became confusing and down right silly. I wanted to like the book, but I couldn't. This needs a major overhaul, it's really just not good.

I enjoy Lora's books but this book was lacking. The characters did not connect emotionally. Ivan had a personality change as soon as they hit the sheets....it was out of character and so odd.

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

This booked confused me at so many parts. This plot had the ability to be good but then there were just so many things that were hard to follow. I also didn't understand the insta change with Ivan. I mean when they did get together it was sparks and fireworks so that was good. I love this author but i feel like she tried to use descriptor adjectives that were too big or didn't seem to fit. Lot of potential her but not my favorite by the author.

In a world of secrets, vengeance and lies, Lora Leigh wrote a surprising and addictive story, with enough passion and eroticism to melt your eReader.

Our lead character, Ivan Resnova, is known as a brutal and powerful crime boss, but when it comes to what he love the most he can also be terrifyingly passionate. Who says the villain can't also be a knight in shining armor? Because that's exactly what he becomes to Crimsyn "Syn" Delaney when danger knocks to her door; and despite her efforts to fight her feelings for him and to keep her secrets safe, she will have to trust in the only man who can also destroy her.

I loved Ivan alpha male's ways. He's nobody's hero, he's just a man who get what he wants and has no fear of it being taken from him once he gets it. Ivan is the kind of man who will fight until the end for what he consider his, and he stated his claim over Crimsym, or I must say Journey, when he took he in his bed. He's not a bad guy turned good, and sure as hell he wasn't pretending being a bad guy. He was what he was, a man following his own rules and doing what's necessary to keep himself, and his family, alive in the world he had to live in.

I also enjoyed Journey/Crimsyn (Syn). She was in certain way innocent, but with a deep strength; she's being through hell but she keeps fighting. She grew up among monsters and was sold into a marriage she wasn't willing to go into, so when she had the chance she ran, and never stop running or hiding. She's Tenhya's cousin (Live Wire), and became friends with Amara (Collision Point), but she guarded fiercely every secret she had, even her attraction to Ivan since she was 16 years old. But the danger has a way to catch up with you in the most unexpected ways.

Lora Leigh’s DAGGER’S EDGE is an erotic and suspenseful love story, with an incredible narrative rhythm and enough action to keep you biting your nails until the last page. After reading this book I felt like rereading Elite Ops series along with Collision Point. Can't wait for the next book in this series to come out.

This is book 2 in the Brute Force series. I would suggest that you read book 1 so that you can understand some of the things talked about along with the characters in this book. I would also recommend that you read the Elite Ops series as it introduces these characters as well. And it might make this story make more sense if you haven't read those books. This book is about Ivan Resnova and Crimsyn "Syn" Delaney AKA Journey. Ivan is still trying to move on from his past and the things his family has done. Along with trying to take care of his enemies so that he and his family can live freely and safely. Syn never knew the things that her family had done. And when she found out, she ran. She thought that part of her life was over, until an attempt is made to kill her she now knows that they won't let her go. But can she put her trust and faith in the one man who she has always been attracted to? Especially knowing that their families are enemies and if he finds out who she truly is, he will make her pay for just being related to them?

I loved this! Like I said, if you haven't read any of the other books then you won't really understand and the prologue especially will be confusing to people. Ivan is definitely all alpha male and will do anything to make sure his daughter is safe and happy. Syn is an innocent who has been caught in the crossfire but she manages to learn how to stand up for herself and what she feels is the right thing to do. I love how even though there are so many things that happened in the past that hurt so many people they still manage to to move on and fall in love. For me, it was a great read. A lot of people may not like it, especially if they haven't read any of the others to know the backstories that have happened to lead to this. After this one I really want to know more about Syn's former fiance

Ivan Resnova is a hard man, he has had to be to survive his life. He has his daughter back in the previous book and her friend came home with her. This book begins where the last one ended and Syn wants to leave Colorado. She has secrets and wants to keep her identity a to herself and to keep running. She has been on the run for the past 4 years but Ivan sees through her "disguise" and their chemistry cannot be denied. Virgin no more after that night snowed in, Syn/Journey still runs at the first chance she gets until Ivan tracks her down a month later in California just before a strike team gets her. Now she is back with him and again the chemistry is just as strong. What starts as a bargain, or an illusion, turns into so much more when Ivan puts his grandmother's ring on her finger to seal the deal. So much snark and sex and fighting. A score card is needed at times to keep the players straight to figure out who is who but the sex is outstanding.

Occasionally a book comes along that will have me completely consumed, no just hooked to the point that I will not put it down. I mean it consumes every waking thought, dreams, and it is all I think of for a few days after finishing it leaving me with a severe book hangover. This was one of those books. There was danger, twist, a who is responsible that I never saw coming, and scorching heat. The chemistry between Ivan and Crimsyn is so hot that I swear the pages would have caught fire if they could. This is book two in the Brute Force series and I would recommend reading book one first or there will be pieces missing that will make you go huh. Just my opinion.

So many secrets that it is tough to talk about this book without spoilers.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Friend or foe? Journey assumed a new identity to remain hidden from her family. But after she tried to help a friend, she finds herself in the home of someone she believes may want to kill her more than her family if he figures out who she is. She decides that it's better for her to leave than stay and take that chance.

Ivan knows that the woman calling herself Crimsyn is really Journey Taite, the daughter of his most hated enemy. But as in the past when he's seen her, there is an attraction that he can't explain. So instead of hurting or killing her like she thinks he wants to do, he finds himself wanting to act on that attraction. When she runs from him, he's determined to get her back. And he's not the only one looking for her.

Suspense, action, and maybe a surprise to two.

I truly love Lora Leigh and have been an avid reader for years. So I was a little saddened that Dagger's Edge did not do it for me. I could not keep up with the story line and it took me about a month to get through, when usually Lora Leigh books will keep me up all night. Now the sexy and hot scenes were the bomb as I knew Lora would make it out to be. I guess I needed a little more twists and turns that would have my head spinning. Any Lora Leigh fans should still read this book. It may have not been it for me, but could be for you.

This was a great adventure with twists and turns until the very end. Tragic to want the readers to understand what life is like with criminal elements. Ivan had at a young age faced the rape and death of his mother and had to live with the image and became the man he is by knowing life isn't always fair. Journey living under the controlling conditions of her father and grandfather wanted more out of life than they wanted her to have. A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start.

Dagger's Edge (Brute Force #2) by Lora Leigh The most I can give this 3 1/2 stars.... I really enjoyed Collision Point and was so looking forward to this book. Ivan and Journey "Sin" continue the story with a lot of the same characters from the first book. Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview this book. The journey is full of danger and a lot of steamy sex... To get to their HEA.
