It's a great book! Well organized tutorials. Skills are arranged cumulatively. The basics of mark making are covered all the way to composing a full-page illustration. The designs are beautiful, on trend, and inspiring. It also seems like the content is quite balanced between providing visual appeal and thorough instruction, that is there are pretty images scattered pretty evenly among the text.

Thia book was well worth the wait! I was not a total beginner before I started the book but I really felt myself improving over the 30 paintings, especially with Jenna’s tidbits of wisdom. I developed an understanding for composition and blending so the further along I got, the less guidance I needed. I’m especially proud of my final painting. Looking forward to the next book!

The book is fine, but not worth the price as you can find all this info on the web for free. It's really basic. The most interesting pages of the book, like the cover art, doughnuts in the back, and a few other floral pages scattered throughout, weren't even addressed in a single tutorial. Plenty of leaves though.... Leaving me wanting more.

I have been a watercolor artist and teacher for many years and I love this book!!! Easy to understand for beginning students. I follow Jenna Rainey on Instagram and I am so pleased with how she shares everything she knows. This is so important to beginning students! She is such an encouraging artist! All of this is present in her book as her delightful spirit and knowledge of watercolor painting shows on each page. I will definitely recommend this book to my students!!!

Jenna's watercolor style is completely different from mine - a bit more contained and controlled - and it is this difference which has helped me a lot. In particular, her brush studies using C and S shapes made me remember the days when I did ink painting. In watercolor, I seem to forget the brush and focus on the color. Additionally, the simplicity of her palettes and use of analogous colors creates clear colors and not mud - a problem many beginning watercolorists have. The individual studies, while designed for beginners, also help more advanced students because the individual exercises are not quite like what other "how to" books offer. And, a 30-day approach - that is not something you find in books on art too often! This lets the student move along at their own pace. I've really been having a lot of fun with this book simply because it is refreshingly different, simple while being thought-provoking.

This is a skills based book, with 30 days of very doable tasks, and the kinds of specific details and techniques a new watercolorist needs in order to have the technical skills to be able to achieve their creative vision. This is a beautiful, inspirational, and thick book, clearly designed to teach, rather than to impress you with the author's skills. Although I have not yet started the first exercises, I feel confident that I will be able to follow the instructions, build my skills and complete all of the exercises.

I have only one complaint, and a strong request to the author for the next version. On page 14, make it much bigger, bolder and clearer that the wet on wet technique is what you mean when you reference WOW throughout the text, and you are referencing the wet on dry technique when you you use the term WOD. I had read the instructions fairly carefully, but missed this, and was thoroughly confused by your mention of WOW technique. I searched and searched to find where this was explained, only finally finding a vague reference to it in the index at the back.

I am brand new to watercolor, and was skeptical about trying out Jenna's book, thinking it would be too difficult, hard to follow, etc. I am well in to her book, and have been SO pleasantly surprised! I am loving it! Her illustrations/instructions are very easy to follow, and her encouraging, simple approach has made me look forward to each day's projects. I love that she shared a suggested supplies list; as a novice, that was totally helpful. I would highly recommend this book, and am so happy I decided to try it out. I've been wanting to dabble in watercolor for awhile, and this was the perfect tool to encourage me to get started. Thank you, Jenna! (Would love if you could have short videos for each day's exercise, to demonstrate visually. Would be a great addition!)

I LOVE this book! I love that she starts with basics and gives you an assignment for each of the 30 days she’s teaching you watercolors. Each day is broken down into simple, achievable steps that you can do with just a few minutes of time or longer if you are so inclined. This is a really thoughtful book aimed at beginners and requires just a few supplies to get started. It’s visually stunning with beautiful color illustrations. I highly recommend!

This book has brought me new life in my creativity! I should have written a review soon after I was finished, but I don't think I'll be finished because I continually refer to it. Reading some of these negative reviews just puzzles me, I get we're all on different levels and different personality types, but let's remember, this is her first book and she broke all the uptight "rules" in watercolor! I was drawn to Jenna on Instagram before her book came out by her easy-going personality and encouragement to have fun, make mistakes, learn along the journey. I have always been afraid of watercolor because my sister is a master watercolorist and I can't draw a square! She always encouraged me to try, but I didn't until this book. Also, watch her videos, they're so helpful! It's so therapeutic and amazes me when colors mix, water, types of paper, brushes, etc. The movement of watercolor is breathtaking. So many parallels to life. Jenna, thank you for being you. Publishing a book on your passion to share and encourage all of us to start something, anything! As you say,
"Create something today even if it sucks"!

Definitely one of my favorite watercolor books. So well written with easy step by step instructions. I absolutely love following Jenna on Instagram. She shares lot of tips and is such a joy to watch. Always takes time to personally respond to comments and questions. I love this gorgeous book and recommend it to beginners. Thank you Jenna for sharing your gift and most of all for being such a genuine person and so funny! Xoxo

Great book. I am new to watercolor painting and it works for me. A good variety of projects. I love the Toucan and the trees! I have found a few of the instructions to be confusing, backwards, or incomplete. But a person can look at her finished project and figure it out. I am more thanhalf way through the lessons. I would recommend this instruction manual.

I love this book. It’s good for an absolute beginner like me. I’ve just purchased my paints and some paper and I’m inspired as I read through. My goal is to try to paint every day, even if just for a few minutes, and I think this book will help me with that. Plus I love her pallette and looser style compared to some of the other beginner books I’d looked at.

“Learn to paint watercolor in 30 days”. Not an estimate but concrete lessons divided in 30 days. Meaning you can actually learn everything inside the book in a month. I like time frames (or else I don’t do things), so I found that way of organizing the information appealing. Each day covers a specific topic and a task for you to complete. The first days are about basic things like swatches (blobs of paint), value scale, shapes, etc. Those will get you used to manipulating your brush and watercolors. The next days it just keeps incorporating the knowledge of previous days into the new lessons . As it increases in complexity, you move forward all the way to completed watercolor scenes.

This book is good for beginners, it makes it easy for you to start your watercolor journey. Jenna Rainey explains tools, color theory and everything you need to know before moving to the first day. However, what I found more important is that it doesn’t only teach but also entices you to start practicing:

– It gives a defined time frame “30 days of watercolors”, so you can see the goal.
– Each day has an estimated time to complete, thus allowing you to organize your day better.
– The example images are not intimidating and portrait only what you are supposed to learn (not astonishing pieces that obviously required more knowledge than what they teach and you go “no way I can do something like that” and give up).
– It invites you to share your work on social media with hashtag #everydaywatercolor, which can be great to add accountability, meet other students/readers and keep on track. I like the idea of connecting with other people, who also read the book, and share our projects.

If you are looking for a “draw this specific gorgeous flower in 3-easy-steps” this is not your book. It doesn’t focus on making you achieve a specific stylized design, but if you want to build solid foundations in watercolor and go beyond the examples provided, then go for it!. I got my eARC from Netgalley

I found Jenna’s work through Instagram and pre-ordered this the day she announced it and could not wait for it to come. I bought watercolor supplies from her website but was fairly directionless until the book came. SO WORTH THE WAIT. I’ve never watercolored before but Jenna makes it so easy and I’m already painting things I thought were really advanced before! Plus, the book is stunning; it stays on my coffee table and everyone who comes over flips through it. She breaks it down easily but doesn’t over-saturate you with directions—it’s the perfect beginner book! Add it to your life, you won’t regret it.

This is a really fabulous step-by-step way to build confidence in watercolor (and to a lesser extent, drawing) technique. Won't make you a great creative artist, but genuinely moves you ahead on both the "how" and the confidence to paint. And you'll produce some nice pictures along the way.

I’ve followed Jenna Rainey on Instagram since last year when I started my watercolor practice. As soon as she announced the pre-orders were open for her book, I placed my order. And (I’m)patiently waited for its arrival.
Well worth the wait! If you are interested in learning watercolor, do not hesitate to order this book. I’m slowly working my way through the lessons and can definitely see an improvement in my skills with her instruction. The only thing better would be private lessons or one of her workshops! It’s a great companion to following her on Instagram, so do that too.

Interesting book for a beginning painter. A collection of 31 days of exercises and explanations. Not the typical waterfall of information but a series of achievable watercolor paintings that are interesting enough that you will be encouraged to keep on working through to the solutions to what doesn’t work yet. Since this where many get stuck and give up, I really like this book.

SUMMARY:
As a watercolor painting guide structured to teach technique, perspective, shape, form. volume, depth and light with successful results in 30 days, Everyday Watercolor helps both beginner painters as well as those more accomplished. With each lesson plan set-up in 2-3 steps of sketching, choosing a color palette and painting on paper, a finished picture is the result each day. With clear instructions, lots of guidance and encouragement/ permission to create your own style, artist and author Jenna Rainey shares her love, design, education and enjoyment in her new book meant for all.
A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
By no means an artist of drawing, painting, or patience, this book actually took me by surprise and enabled me to paint beautiful pictures (at least, in my own eyes). Meant to be done in 30 consecutive days, the instruction works just fine on any consistent schedule. Done in a sequential manner building upon previously learned skills from the prior lessons, even I was impressed by what I was able to produce. With Jenna’s encouraging style and reminder to have fun while attempting something new, I liked her acknowledgement of her artistic gift from God which she has chosen to use and share.
RATING:
4.5 (out of 5) pennies

This book is very disappointing. First : it's not for beginners. Not at all. Second : Rainey is clearly sponsored by many expensive brands and make sure to advertise them as much as possible. It's easy to see this in her instagram, she is constantly doing "giveaways" with these brands.
What would be fair of her is to help you paint without spending 500 dollars on gear.
I own quite a few brushes and paint that are much cheaper than the ones she recommends and they work just fine.
There are many books out there and this one isn't very good.
Do yourself a favor and buy another one.

I know Jenna has a huge following online, but her skills are mediocre and amateurish and her knowledge of this medium is sorely lacking. Even the cover piece is full of mistakes with careless application of water...Inside, many art pieces are muddy, unrefined and plain ugly. There are better artists and books to buy. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY buying this book.

I need to start with a confession: I’m incredibly biased. I am Jenna’s husband, haha. But I mean it when I say it - this book is the best. Not only did I see first hand the amount of hard work that went into this - I’ve combed through this book very closely, and even as a complete non-artist, I feel like I could totally paint a masterpiece now, haha. It truly is an impressive work. It’s easy reading and beautiful illustrations will give any aspiring artist confidence in what they do. You’ll love it. I’m not just saying this bc I’m biased, but bc I truly believe it: you will love it.

I am a professional photographer and write instructional ebooks in nature photography. I always think two things are essential for such books... First, the cover should be a good representation of the contents of any art instruction book. Second, the book should be representative of the work for which the artist is known. This book contains only tiny pieces of the author’s botanical work, which is what the cover shows and what she is best known for. Thus, when buying this book, I would expect it to be filled with botanical art. Instead, you will find small elements of botanical paintings (sprig of leaves, a rose, a tree) and then uninspiring landscapes, animal paintings, and jungle scenes. There is botanical artwork in the book (for example, as chapter dividers) but none of it is the focus of any included lessons.

While the lessons do have some value, they are nothing like what I expected from following the author on Instagram and viewing the cover of the book. I’m so glad I only rented this from the library as it is a big disappointment. If the author doesn’t want to share her insights and methods for botanical painting, maybe she should not be writing instructional books.

I love watercolor. There’s just something magical about painting in watercolor that doesn’t happen when I pick up the acrylics. The fluid and dynamic nature of watercolor isn’t easy to control, and that’s where it gets exciting. Letting go of control isn’t easy, but watercolor makes letting go beautiful. When I received Everyday Watercolor: Learn to Paint Watercolor in 30 Days, I knew I’d found exactly what I’d been missing.

Jenna Rainey is a self-taught watercolor and calligraphy artist. Her style is simple and approachable. Although you’ll be painting plants, animals, and food as you go through this daily guide, the watercolors you’ll be painting will be less botanically styled and more what you’d find in your Instagram feed. This isn’t a bad thing. I’ve found botanical watercolors fascinating and alluring, but too intimidating.

As a result, when you look through the pages of this book you’ll find the paintings to be approachable, providing a solid foundation of techniques for you to launch from. Often when I’ve looked at painting books, I am overwhelmed by the level of skill that must be required to complete such gorgeous paintings. Everyday Watercolor is just that, paintings that an everyday person can feasibly do every day.

The book begins with an introduction on the tools and materials needed. Rainey provides simple to understand explanations of type of paper, brushes, and paints. She even provides a basic overview on color theory and composition.

As you travel through the book it is separated into sections and days. For example, section one is technique and contains 6 days of painting. Starting slow Rainey takes you from abstract shapes and slowly works you up to increasingly complex physical objects. There are 5 sections that can be completed over 31 days or 31 lessons. Each lesson is broken down into 3 steps, removing any intimidation or sense of being overwhelmed.

I heartily recommend Everyday Watercolor if you are a begin watercolor artist and looking to find something to guide you step by step to a firmer foundation.

I was excited to receive this book. It was great how everything was laid out — simple lessons with buildable skills. My main grouse is that the language used is very casual and as a result, seems really vague..... At the same time, the layout of some pages and the huge chunks of text don't help to give clear picture about what you're supposed to do! I gave up after 3 lessons........ The info provided about colour theory is useful, but was not explained well, again. I found myself having to re-read many parts because I didn't really get what Jenna was trying to get at, and it was frustrating. I was disappointed at the peony, it was honestly ugly and did not inspire me to try that tutorial at all.... I think Jenna should have really wrote about the stuff she puts on her instagram channel instead — loose watercolor florals, that's what's she's good at and was disappointed that there was only one lesson about that. The texture of the paper and the colour replication, too, leaves much to be desired. In contrast, Billy Showell's books are very instructional and crystal clear about what you should do, plus her flowers actually look beautiful, so I recommend you buy her books instead if you love flowers.

Everyday Watercolor is a contemporary watercolor guide for newbie artists to follow over a thirty-day period. The author begins with the basics of brushstrokes and ends with step-by-step, fully completed watercolor projects.

Everyday Watercolor is packed with eye-catching illustrations and informational tutorials set up with easy to follow instructions. There are five sections within this book:

• Technique
• Form, Perspective and Light
• Complex Shapes and Forms
• Value, Volume and Depth
• Application

Within each of these five sections is a wealth of tips, tricks, techniques and advice for even the most novice watercolor artist. The author has a lovely conversational style of writing, which makes the reader feel as though they’re being personally taught the art of watercolor.

The illustrations are beautiful and highly motivating. Even if one decides not to pursue the art of watercolor, this book is coffee table worthy just for the pictures alone. It’s fun to watch the artist turn a few well placed splotches of color into a beautifully detailed painting.

I’d highly recommend Everyday Watercolor to anyone considering taking up the art of watercolor painting. There’s so much valuable information here that you can’t go wrong. Thanks to Blogging for Books, the publisher and the author for providing a complimentary copy of this book!

Everyday Watercolor by Jenna Rainey is a one of those books that are easy to handle since it's broken down into daily lessons. I like that approach, since it organizes things. You can proceed further along if you'd like. I like the simplicity of the lessons, which is great for beginners. However, since I've studied art and design before, I find some of the terms might not work well for beginners if they had no idea what it meant in the first place. There's a certain level of assumption, but there's also a good amount of information including how to hold the brush for a certain effect. Much of the terminology are noted in the beginning pages which I highly suggest beginners to take a look at first instead of jumping into the first lesson. With that said, there's a lot of reading. I think if there were an audio companion to this book, so as you are following the instructions, you can try it out as well would make this experience more fulfilling, and less confusing.

In all, I do find the lessons a great refresher and very useful. Each lesson focused on one organic item to draw and I look forward to spending more time on watercolors.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.

From the moment I looked at the cover I knew this book would be amazing. It's gorgeous! The book is geared towards a beginner but moves quickly. Basic information including supplies to use, color theory, composition and painting techniques are clearly presented at the very beginning. Daily lessons build on each other. Estimated times for completion are given as well as clear steps to practice the daily skill. Lessons are separated into sections and start with basic strokes, curves and circles, straight lines and triangles, layout, compound strokes, light source and shading, and move into more and more complex techniques such as gesture, movement, values, perspective, grayscale, and final projects. The author explains everything so well in a simple way but not looking down upon or making a beginner feel like an idiot! She has a great knack for teaching and encouraging throughout the book. Her art is amazing and makes me want to paint more and more. Love all the colors used and different techniques presented. There's something for everyone in this book: those who like landscape, animals, floral arrangements, etc great book for a novice looking to develop skill. I highly recommend this book.

You all know how craft challenged I am, and my last water coloring project made me question all my ‘sensible shopping’ techniques. So when I stumbled across Everyday Watercolor by Jenna Rainey in Netgalley, I decided I will give water coloring a final try. And Jenna Rainey delivered exactly what it promised. NO I didn’t turn out to be an artist but now I at least now I can make a not so messy painting (which is by itself a grand achievement).

Everyday Watercolor teaches simple techniques to paint right from brush strokes and increasing the complexity day by day (in 30 days). I liked Jenna Rainey’s encouraging tone and attention to small details while teaching. I definitely will not throw my water color supplies yet.

Final thought: Perfect starter pack for learning water color.
Recommended to: Anyone interested in learning water coloring.

Everyday Watercolor: Learn to Paint Watercolor in 30 Days is ideal for any beginner looking to get into water coloring. Unlike many other “how to” art books, Jenna Rainey doesn’t try and force the reader to learn to paint in her specific style. Instead she uses simple techniques in increasing difficulties that allow the beginner to find their style while they learn. This is the ideal style of training, in my opinion.
Rainey walks the reader through all the basics, from supplies (listing optional brands as well as her preferred brands) up to more advanced workings. I particularly enjoyed the little tips and tricks she’s picked up over the years (such as how she prepares her paints). With a set project each day (for which Rainey gives the estimate time it’ll take, a brilliant move) learning to paint becomes less intimidating and more enjoyable, which really is the goal of the whole thing to begin with.
I love the Rainey not only encouraged her readers to share their works on social media (a great way to boost esteem and further the learning process), but provided a hash tag for them to use (#everydaywatercolor). By doing this she’s allowing readers to come together as a group and see what the others are doing, as well as show off what they’ve learned.

We homeschool, and as part of our educational plan I want my daughters to not just learn about fine art, but enjoy creating art as well. I don’t know if any of us have natural talent in the visual arts, but we enjoy ourselves, anyway! This book has been a fantastic class in learning watercolor. My girls were delighted with the illustrations in the book. It's gorgeous, and easy to read. Highly recommended.
Thanks to the publisher for the review copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

I'm getting ready to start my very last project in Everyday Watercolor and I'm FINALLY sitting down to write this review, because as I look back through my earlier projects, I can't help but feel amazed at the progress I've made and paintings I've completed that I never ever thought were possible. I've gone from tossing paint on paper and thinking watercolor wasn't for me, to painting entire landscapes with intricate detail. Seriously, message me and I'll send you proof. This book has helped me to become confident in my sketches, palette choice and ability to create detailed paintings with depth and life. If you've tried watercolor and been frustrated, don't give up, get this book! Thank you so much, Jenna, for this amazing journey. Can't wait for book 2!

I absolutely love this book. You start out slow, which drove me and my “we gotta get all this perfected NOW” personality nuts! But how else are you going to really learn something like this and hope to master it – at least at a beginner level? Color blending, different types of brush strokes, different materials… so many things are covered in this book. Even my significant other, who is much more talented with paints than I am, said he would like to try this out and learn how to use watercolors.

Make some time every day to work the lessons in this book, and keep practicing. And create!

I ordered this book because I thought it would be nice gift for my Mum, she has done a few painting classes, so has some experience already in watercolour painting, but I thought it might be a nice thing to work through and practice.

My first thoughts were that it was a very well presented book, just flicking through the pages it is colourful and appealing, looking more closely it has a lot of information, giving detail on paints, equipment, terms, and technique. Suggestions and recommendations from the author are given for paint, brushes, and paper. The book is divided into days, with a different technique or skill to practice in order to build upon the previous day, taking you through: technique; form, perspective, and light; complex shapes and forms; value, volume, and depth; and application.

I think it explains all of the basic aspects really well, and is just so nice to look at that it would make a really nice gift for the art-lover in your life that would like to give watercolours a try, perhaps with a few paints, brushes, and pieces of paper so that they can give it a try.

I've always had a fascination with watercolors. And not artistically inclined I thought this would be a great book for me to take a 30 day course.
This is a beautiful book. And being a beginner watercolor artist I was pleased to see how easy the author made the fun of being an artist with that little brush.
There are stroke suggestions and shape dimension exercises so that the beginner can understand how to paint. And take time to read the text and find out how colors go together. It gives one the needed artistic application.
Of course, once you finish this book you won't be a watercolor artist but you will have gained some great hints and neat ideas on how to be a better accomplished artist in your own right.
The secret I found to this book is to practice what the author places on each page. Practice. Practice! And you will be better in time.
A great book for the budding watercolor artist.

I waited forever to get this book... when it finally arrived... I was disappointed... ... The cover of the book and maybe one or two other images were interesting... the other images were VERY drab and boring. I have many watercolor books that I love... and this is not one of them... it is going back in the mail tomorrow... pass on this one...

The title itself was tempting: Everyday Watercolor, Learn to Paint Watercolor in 30 Days. Honestly, I love this book. But honestly, it's much more in-depth than I anticipated. I think my best explanation would be that yes, you could learn to do watercolor in 30 days but it would be more like taking an actual course for those 30 days rather than slipping in a quick chapter and five minutes each day, if that makes sense. So the book is still EXCELLENT and I really look forward to learning, but it's not quite going to be the short naptime activity I thought it might. I envisioned learning some quick stroke techniques to be able to paint pretty flowers and leaves around some calligraphy quotes. But instead the book covers not only strokes, but also principles such as hue, saturation, value, shadows, gesture, volume, background and foreground, and much more. Again, I think it's a great resource and I love that they divided the concepts into 30 days, but I would definitely be aware that the book is very thorough and technical as well. I would give it a 4 out of 5.

As someone who has taken a 10 year break from watercolors and now getting back into the swing of things this book has been wonderful. One of the nice things about a book and learning from it is the fact that you can reread a section or slowly take your time. There are good examples shown and she does her very best at trying to communicate through word on how to succeed at a skill. I love following her on Instagram. There was a skill I struggled with so I had to look it up on YouTube for better instruction but for someone teaching art through a book it really is a great beginner watercolor book. I appreciated that she also gave recommendations on good paper, paints and brushes. If you want to be inspired get this book and follow her and a couple other watercolorist on Instagram. She is also coming out with another book that I can’t wait for!

On a personal note, watercoloring is so therapeutic for me as a young mom of 3 tiny people! I store everything in a small bin, put it up high and when children are sleeping I pull it down, do a little painting and then it’s easy clean up!

I love watercolor! And I love learning new or different from my own art techniques, I fully believe that you can never know everything. And there is always room to grow. I follow Jenna Rainey on Instagram. Her art if just absolutely fabulous & such a inspiration. So when she started talking about her book, I knew that it was one that I would love to own. This book is full of stunning watercolors. The introduction alone is wonderful! "Everyday Watercolor" is not just learning new stuff, it's also a bit of a challenge to learn how to paint watercolor in 30 days! How fun is that? This is for a beginning or a pro. So grab yourself some watercolor paper, your paints & get to having some fun!

Great book to get someone started with watercolor painting. The book begins explaining the supplies you will need and explains color theory. I like the way the book is divided into 30 daily lessons. I found that I would do several lessons in a day. But the short daily lessons kept me motivated to be consistent because I knew I could finish a lesson each day even if I didn’t have a lot of time.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jenna’s book is probably the best investment I’ve made to my art learning process. She explains easily and with great graphics a step by step journey to the watercolor world. I love how every single page is full of visual examples that, for me, is the best way to process information, without sacrificing the quality of the textual explanations, focusing even on the small details.
It’s a very complete resource of information about watercolor art. I am more than happy to be still practicing and playing around with it

I learned so much in the process of completing the thirty days of watercolor. I have a new respect for watercolor painting and a new hobby that is quite relaxing. The book is well laid out and easy to follow along with the instructions and lessons. I took longer than 30 days, and some lessons I spent more time on the grasp the technique. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to learn more about watercolor. I received this book from Blogging for Books for my honest feedback.

I love this book! I started off a long time ago teaching myself how to watercolor paint by watching Jenna’s videos and reading her captions. I did not really know what I was doing right or wrong and would get frustrated when mine didn’t look like hers. I never sketched anything out and tried to make it perfect. I was so excited when she posted about her new book and when I got it it was a game changer! You will learn new things just on the first couple pages! I am so glad I started from the beginning and mastered the basics so I could become better. It is so helpful to see the step by step process of everything she does, and it really helped me understand the big picture. This book has helped me so much and I cannot wait until Jenna does a workshop in my city so I can go to that and learn even more! It is very in depth and makes watercolor painting easy to understand. You will not regret buying this book! Watercolor is so much fun to learn about and all the different techniques you can use and the layers that help build texture and value to a painting! I am so glad I got this book and wish I had all day to sit down, learn from this book and paint!!

Want to learn to paint with watercolors in a month? This book is a great beginners guide that gives practical advice on how to learn to watercolor. The projects build upon each basic skill it teaches, until you have a finished masterpiece. A lot of libraries offer painting night and I see a lot of local wine & paint nights. You can take the skills you learn here to a new level!

I don't typically venture much further than hand lettering, but I did find Everyday Watercolor interesting and encouraging to try out a few techniques. The instructions seem easy to follow and I love that the pages aren't over complicated with intricate steps.

I love this book so much! We have owned and borrowed many watercolor and other painting books from the library, but none of them were for true beginners, which we are. This book is absolutely beautiful, and gives step by step lessons that are easy to follow, without being patronizing. We can't wait to get started!

This book is great and fun and I'm enjoying all the lessons! For someone who is new to watercolor, I'm still a little lost on how to mix paints, brush techniques for certain looks and strokes, and such but overall a great book to just dive in and get started and used to using watercolor.

I'm new to watercolor, and this book is extremely helpful! It definitely eases you into color theory, basic brush strokes, creating simple shapes. Then onto more intermediate techniques including a hummingbird, an elephant and other fun things! Eventually creating the COOLEST jungle scene! Jenna describes everything so simply, elloquently and straight forward which allows me to follow the instructions no problem. I'm super stoked on this book and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new hobby or to better their watercolor/painting skills!

I cannot speak highly of this book. Jenna gives you the right tools to have a basic understanding of watercolor painting. I would recommend this book to someone who has never painted and others who have some basic knowledge. Truly a work of art
