Down On Me (Man of the Month Book 1)

I’m super excited about J. Kenner’s new Man of the Month series and Down on Me was a great start to the series!

Reece and Jenna have been best friends for years—neither has tried to move their relationship beyond that because their friendship has been too important. Until they just can’t deny their feelings any longer! I loved their best-friends to lovers story! I truly enjoyed their characters and their concern about the potential harm to their friendship. And how their relationship may affect their “Three Musketeers” friendship with Brent too. It was fun, sexy and smart, not too much push and pull to leave us in suspense. It just worked for me.

And I love set-up for the rest of the books too. The Fix on Sixth bar is a terrific central point for all the storylines. I love the concept of the characters commonality with the bar. So fun and I can’t wait for the next one in the series! I have a feeling Spence and Brooke's story is going to have some fireworks!

Down on Me is the first book in the Man of the Month series, and the story about Mr. January is a fantastic read! Reese Walker is a certified bachelor, and wants two things. To save the bar he manages, and to get his best friend, Jenna Montgomery into his bed. But, since that's a line he won't cross, he's become unsatisfied with his different hook ups. And now that she's come home, it's even harder, especially since they shared a hot kiss, which has changed everything. Reese is determined to convince Jenna that friends can be lovers too. This story was super steamy, as Reese & Jenna had chemistry off the chart, so when it finally ignited, they set the sheets on fire! And then there was the cast of secondaries that were hilarious, like a tiny human, plus they added more depth to the story. J. Kenner with her talented writing style wrote a fun story, with a side of hot, and dash of angst, which was totally addictive! I CANNOT WAIT for next month's story! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Reece and Jenna have been friends since they were little, but a steamy night allows them to act on feelings they've both had, but have been to afraid to say. This friends-to-lovers romance is light, fun, and I completely devoured it in one sitting.
I love the premise of the series, 3 friends band together to save their fledgling bar, each with different strengths. Jenna, with her marketing background comes up with an idea to make a Man of the Month calendar, with contests and votes leading up to the actual calendar. Count me in to meet these guys! Along the way, Jenna and Reece have to come to terms with how they want to proceed with each other, will their hearts finally have a go, or will they be ruining their friendship instead?
Down on Me is lighter than J. Kenner's previous hit Stark series, but with her impeccable writing, down-to-earth characters, and off-the-chart steam, her Man of the Month series is definitely one I cannot wait for the rest!

Wow what a a great book! This is the first book in the Man of the Month Series.

Reece, Brent and Jenna have been best friends since grade school. Never did they thought of dating one another until that one night before Jenna moved to L.A.

Eight months later Jenna ends up moving back to Austin after things with her job fell through. Jenna was so excited to be back with her best friends. However being around Reece is a little awkward. Ever since that night Jenna is unable to shake that memory out of her mind. However that is not a line she wants to cross with Reece due to being best friends

Reece is happy that Jenna is back in Austin but is a little uneasy around her. Since his feelings for her has not changed its only makes him want her more now that she's bsck. As they help a friend keep his business from going under they will be tested on how well they can keep their feelings at bay or by taking a chance to act on those feelings .

This is the first book in this new concept series by Ms. Kenner and it's a great start to a hot and sexy set of twelve books. Reese and Jenna have been friends for so many years and both of them are reluctant to risk that friendship by admitting their overwhelming attraction to each other.

What's a man to do to get the woman of his dreams? Well, along with fighting to save the bar he manages with his friends The Fix on Sixth he battles his nerves of going to Jenna and succumbing to her beauty and pull of his heartstrings. Ms. Kenner definitely doesn't disappoint in the heat of this book that's for sure! These two, once they succumb, are SIZZLING!!!

It's definitely not an easy road for Reese and Jenna, but they are the only ones that can decide what their future looks like and if they're willing compromise what they envisioned it looking like. Spencer's book is next and I just know it's going to be another sexy read!

Whew, boy! This book was so great and it sucked me right in. This is the first in J. Kenner's Man of the Month book series. And it kicked off with a bang! I ADORED this story. Reece is a good man. He has his core group of friends, which he's had for awhile, yet he's starting to feel something for his best girl friend, Jenna. Reece knew he couldn't act on it because Jenna didn't think of him THAT way. I loved this friends-to-lovers story! Brent and Jenna are like family to Reece. Jenna helps the bar that Tyree owns because they help family. While Jenna has a great idea to help the bar, they all have tasks to help pull this off. Yet there's this pull between her and Reece. It's a delicious build-up and the chemistry between them is H-O-T-T! I loved watching this journey between these friends and cheering for their bar! I think you'll get lost in Jenna and Reece's story, too! I highly recommend this read. Grab your copy now.

I love the concept of this series, and that we get a different to meet and fall in love with every month. With this book, we do get to meet plenty of characters, and I'm guessing these are going to be the feature characters for the upcoming books. I love a good friends-to-lovers story and was excited when I saw this book on my e-reader, and while I liked this story well enough, but I'm not a fan of Reece or his behavior at the start of the book. I get that neither of them wanting to disrupt the balance of friendship that's been in place for 20 years, but his actions at the start seemed contradictory to his feelings for Jenna. Of course, his evolving feelings for one of his best friends isn't all one-sided, but neither one wants to put their feelings out there, on the chance it could destroy the trio of Reece, Brent and Jenna. By the end of the book I was glad that things worked out, but I'm still not fully on Team Reece lol.

In Down On Me , J.Kenner skillfully tells the story of Reece and Jenna. They have been friends for like F.O.R.E.V.E.R until that moment…. That moment that changed everything for the best friends... that moment when they realised that they wanted more.

Down On Me is a fantastic start to J.Kenner’s new series, Man of the Month. She always brings us something hot, romantic and wonderful. IF you like friends to lovers stories than this one is for you, it was not only a quick read but also charming and completely entertaining! Can’t wait till Hold on Tight now!

I was so excited when I found out that J Kenner had a new series and she definitely started the series off with a bang!! This first book is a friends to lovers story that will have you anxiously reading to see what happens next. Reece has grown up thinking that marriage was a sham and he was destined to be Mr. One night stand, then he realized that the woman that would change everything had been in front of him his whole life. But when their views on the future clash so spectacularly, they have to decide where to go from here.
This book speak for itself when you read it but I feel have have to say that I loved it. I had a hard time taking side between Reece and Jenna because I could completely relate to both of them. The writing made it easy to get involved and stay hooked. I highly recommend that you get started now so you can be ready for the rest, of what I am sure is going to be, an amazing series!

When they pull their money together and try to help the owner save it, I could foresee the chemistry between Jenna and Reece! She's back and Reece wants her but also values her friendship so much!

Down on Me is the first book in J. Kenner's new Man of the Month series. This best friends to lovers story was fast paced and fun with lots of steamy scenes. The story centers around 3 best friends trying to save their friend's bar.
We are introduced to a number of characters in this story who will all feature in the next 11 books and the epilogue sets us up nicely for book 2.
This first book is Reese and Jenna's story, you could feel the intensity of their chemistry from the start as well as the strong friendship they had with each other and the other member of their group Brent. I enjoyed reading this novel. Apart from the romance I loved the friendship aspect as well.
Complex characters, interesting story-line and some great chemistry all made this a good read. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

The first in a new series by the outstanding author J. Kenner.
Down on Me, introduces us to three friends, Reece, Jenna and Brent. These three have been friends their entire lives and are as close to siblings as you can be until things change.
Yeh, not telling what that is......you will want to read that part for yourselves. Let's just say that with the changes in each of their lives the author builds a great plot for us to thoroughly enjoy.

I will say they all become partners in a business endeavor and that is where the first book leads us. Don't fret. The author uses her savvy book writing talents to weave a fantastic beginning to what promises to be a fun and hot series.

I can't say enough good things about this book or the author providing it. If you ever experienced one of her books you will no doubt love this start to her new series.

J Kenner, you never disappoint! This is a very quick read that begins a twelve month series. Reese is the very best friend of Jenna. He's always been there for her, yet when he takes care of her after a drinking celebration, he realizes that not only is she a great friend, but also a very attractive woman. Jenna also starts to become attracted to Reese as well. For months, she agonizes how to move their relationship into something more. She decides to seduce him. Unfortunately, Reese doesn't know it's her until it's too late. He pushes her away. He doesn't want to lose her friendship, because he's always detaching himself from any kind of commitment. They each have their childhood issues to deal with, in order to make a relationship work. Throw in some other characters like their third best friend, Brent, and I can't wait for the next book!

I would give this book four stars. It was a quick but enjoyable read, and I loved both the main and supporting characters. I’m looking forward to reading the next book(s) in the series. I was asked by the author for an honest review.

As always Julie knows how to make you fall for the guys in her books. And Reece Walker is someone I never thought I would be into physically(shaved heads) but after every word and action of his made me want him in ways I never thought I would. His not just a alpha male is good best friend, a sweetheart willing to do anything for anyone, and doesn't fall in love easily until he falls for Jenna. Jenna and Reece have been friends for years and after one brief drunken haze night 8 months ago things change for both of them. But it's hard to fall for your best friend and worry about if this will change everything. And to top it off they and their friend Brent must help save a friend's bar, maybe a all male calendar will do. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Reece and Jenna have been best friends for years. Everything was just fine until one night right before she moved away, and then it all changed. An unexpected attraction developed and that chemistry is something that neither can forget, especially now that Jenna moved back home. Jenna is smart, hardworking, and ready to look for a better job. Reece is sexy, charming, loyal, and determined to help save the bar he manages. They banter, flirt, and fight as they try to figure out if risking the friendship for their sizzling chemistry is worth it. Down on Me is a great start to the Man of the Month series. There's tension, anticipation, conflict, family, friendship, and it's oh so sexy. J. Kenner introduced interesting and entertaining characters that I'm looking forward to following in the coming books.

Down on Me by J Kenner ( A Man Of The Month Novel ) was such an amazing read. I loved it from beginning to end. This book was about a group of best friends...Reece, Jenna and Brent. They know nothing can happen between either of them without ruining their friendship but Reece and Jenna both have it bad for one another. Finally when enough is enough, Reece cannot take it anymore and goes after what he wants with no care what anyone says or thinks. Something they all have in common is “The Fix” they are willing to do whatever possible to keep The Fix open and striving. Will Jenna and Reece be able to remain friends and work together to save the Fix or will the attraction they have towards eachother push them apart.
Such a great ending. Do yourself a favor and go grab a copy this! You won’t be disappointed.

I really wasn’t sure what I would get when I cracked open this story, but wow what a story it was. It was a brilliant one, full of passion, banter and that forbidden love that you are scared to take that first step. I really love the loyalty of Reece. He is a tough as nails kind of guy but will do whatever it takes for his friends. Enter Jenna, the friend that is forbidden fruit but trying to deny that passion is a chore. These two sizzle as they fight their attraction and I love how it all culminates in the end. The side story about the bar is utterly brilliant as it pulls in characters that you will most likely see later down the road. I found this one was the building blocks of this series and I am really looking forward to seeing more out of this series.. But so far, Reece has my heart!

This is the first of J Kenner’s new 12 book Man of The Month series that will be focusing on all different kinds of book tropes, while dealing with one main story. Bar owner Tyree is losing his bar, and all of his friends decide to come together and do something about it.
Our hero and heroine in this book, Reese and Jenna, cover a couple of different tropes, the first being friends to lovers. Both of them stay away from each other because they don’t want to ruin their friendship by admitting to each other that they have feelings. Of course, they both do, then they do, and whoopsie.
The second, and really annoying to me trope happens. I’ll let you figure that out. It’s something a lot of people like, but maybe, at my age, I just find irresponsible.

I love the dynamic between the three friends and the loyalty and commitment they have for each other.

Best friends Jenna and Reece have secret feelings for each other but they are not so secret from Brent, the third friend in this trio who warns each to be careful. Eight months ago things suddenly became steamy for Jenna and Reece before Jenna moved to LA but Jenna was drunk and supposed didn't remember but Reece has been living in denial but now that Jenna is back in Austin the sparks are going off and cannot be denied. This was the perfect start to this series and just the right way to whet the appetite for more. The Fix on Sixth is a bar in dire need of saving and with this gang of friends on the job, lets hope they can do it. I really liked this one and glad the next one comes out in a couple weeks!

I can not fault J. Kenner's writing from the moment you open that book you are drawn in. I have read all her books and don't have a bad word to say about any of them. This is one of my go to authors.

I can't wait for the rest of this series as I was screaming out for more. Reece, Brent and Jenna have been friends for a long time and they made a pact that none of them will date their friend Jenna, but now Reece can't hide his feelings for Jenna and what Reece doesn't know Jenna feels the same and instead of acting on them Jenna tries to push him away.
I loved the chemistry between the characters, they were well developed and you were made to feel you were part of their world.

This book was amazing and for the first of 12 book series its just going to get better. This is book one inthe man of the month series. There are all standalones but interconnected. Reece Walker nedds two things to save the bar he manages and to finally get Jenna Montgomery. Jenna and Reece have bedn friends since they were kids and up until a night a couple of years ago thats all they were but Jenna doesn't remember that night and left right after for her dream job and now shes back and its Reeces mission to get her but hes afraid thst it will not last and he will lise his best friend. Can Reece save the bar and get his dream gurl read this book to find out. A quick but through read and a definite addictive start two this series.

This was such a fun read because I was excited to meet all of the characters that are going to live in this world and be in the books the next 12 months!

Firstly, I am a huge fan of J Kenner and love her style of writing, the depth of her characters and of course, the hot sex scenes. If this first book is anything to go by, its going to be a wonderful series to read. Reese and Jenna have been friends since the were kids but 8 months ago, Jenna decides to move LA to further her career. She has a drunken leaving party which ends in a very intoxicated Jenna being brought home by Reese. Both of them feel a connection, but will not do anything about it as they don't want to ruin their friendship. When Jenna comes back, Reese tries to hold back his feelings, but when he finds out that Jenna feels the same way, the fireworks begin. Love this story.

What do you do when you find yourself falling in love with your best friend...do you act on those feelings or do you fear losing the one constant in your life?  Reese and Jenna not only fear hurting the ones they love but also fear that they will be left with nothing if they act on them.  But with Jenna coming back to help them save their friends bar, the spark continue to fly and they have no choice but to act on them.  But what they find is a love worth fighting for and in the end friendship and love intertwine for a beautiful story.  This was the first in the Man of the Month series I once again, J.. Kenner does not disappoint.  I cannot wait for a year filled with hot men and great romance.

J Kenner has written a book that is steeped in longing and filled with a fast-paced story. The book was a good read and had a great plot. This is definitely a book for those who love the longtime friends to lovers. I loved the desperate yearning and fighting against needs and all of that. There was a lot of information in the book and felt like it was more a book 2 or 3 rather than a book 1 even though it explained everything.

All in all, this was an enjoyable read and I look forward to the next book now that I know who everyone is.

After reading the blurb and finishing this book I'm so intrigued by the premise of this new series. It has me completely hooked. What was even better for me is the fist book is a friends to lovers book. One of my favorite troupes to read. Jenna and Reece grew up together so they have so much history and truly know one another. When their relationship shifts how will it effect their friendship? This book also delivers on the heat. Also after reading this book I can't wait for Brent's story. His little girl and him have already won my heart. I can't wait to devour more from this series. I highly recommend start this series now because you're not going to want to miss any of the books.

So excited for this new Man of the Month series. This first book is all about Reese and Jenna, two people who’ve been friends for years but want to take it further. Unfortunately Reese’s father has a horrible commitment history and Reese’s idea of love and forever are affected by this. As per usual, HEA is in store for our couple and the ending gives a hint about the next book. It was nice to see some “old friends” from other Kenner books, like Tyree and Griffin and I love how she often blends her stories so we see familiar characters. The only thing I wasn’t super into was the cover pic. The guy doesn’t fit my idea of Reese, but other than that the story is phenomenal!

A very nice best friends to lovers romance. Reece was one sexy determined man who put it all on the line after having a constant inner fight with himself. Who could resist a man who show you more than once that his feelings were geared towards lover than anything... Punch his BFF, tackle kiss you in the dark parking lot, or lock you in the office to profess his love and so much more. Oh, have I forgot to mention this book was hot. Well it was. Although, the friendship and family aspect was heart-warming as well. The brotherhood and support is what took it over the edge, included with the little truthisms.

Good start to a new series J. Kenner.

The first book in the Man of The Month series, Down on Me introduces you to a world of intense interactions, a multitude of characters, and delightful background story.

This story followed one couple's trials and tribulations of working to save a bar while enjoying their romantic entanglements. I enjoyed their story, but I struggled to keep up with just them when there were so many people involved and so much going on around them. I'm sure it was the authors way of laying the groundwork for the next books, but I felt it took away from their story to an extent. I am looking forward to reading the next book though.

All I can say is WOW! January was never my favorite month until now!

Reece, Jenna and Brent have been friends since they were kids. The swore a pack to each other to remain that way no matter what. However, fate has different plans for Reece and Jenna. A simple good-bye 8 months earlier makes them realize how much they need each other. Can their friendship survive the love they have for each other?

You cannot help but fall in love with each of the characters J. Kenner has created. (As a side bonus, you get little pieces from the Stark world! Yeah)

Wonderful story, I couldn't put down! Cannot wait for February!

This is one amazing way to start a series. I love that the fact they Reece and Jenna have known each other for ages. I also adore that they are the last to know what others saw this coming and they didn’t. Most of all I love the combradiery between Brent, Reece, Jenna and Tyree. I just love the surprises that pops out and how the characters deal it them. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Brand new series with brand new characters. This friends to lovers story was a fun hot read.
Reece, Brent and Jenna are childhood friends. When Reece and Jenna can't keep their feelings a secret things turned interesting. The chemistry between Reece and Jenna at first was stiff and seemed forced, but then it turned into a hot and sweet romance. Their attraction was strengthened by their friendship and trust for each other.
The first book of this series is off to a good start!

When you bestfriend for years becomes your obsession you become familiar with cold showers. That is what Reece Walker is experiencing. He knows that Jenna Montgomery deserves better than him and that if he crosses that line it may ruin the one good thing in his life. So when they get together to save their home bar, who knows what will happen. Loved Jenna and Reece, they made my kindle melt. Jenna is a strong willed woman who is struggling what her heart and head wants. Great read and I cannot wait until I read the next book in this new series. Definitely a must read.

This us the first book in a new series and it wasn’t too bad. Typical friends to lovers romance book. Jenna and Reece were childhood friends that after too much to drink one night eight months ago things shifted.

They never pursued a relationship and never spoke about it. Reece thought Jenna deserved better and Jenna thought Reece would never have those type of feelings for her. Their back and forth and both of them being oblivious to the other feelings caused for a good read.

Their friends added to the story and Reece and Jenna story isn’t over it.

This is the first in a series by J. Kenner and wow it is starting awesome. Man of the Month starts with Reece who yes is a playboy but for a good reason. Jenna, however has only wanted one man and afraid to let her feelings well get outed. These two together are hot and boy have so much chemistry between them J. Kenner just sizzles. Cannot wait for the next one in this series which guy will be next.

Kenner skillfully builds the series around The Fix on Sixth, an Austin bar inhabited by a rich assortment of characters who will form the core of future stories. Each month will feature a new couple and I can’t wait to read more about each of them!

JKenner has a way with words that is riveting and engaging for all the senses. This new Man of the Month series is going to be one for the books as she weaves together the lives of all her Stark Universe side characters in Austin, TX with a calendar contest to save The Fix on Sixth bar. Here we meet Reece and Jenna, best friends since childhood, but both aching for more. And I couldn’t help but ache with them. I love the way every one of her books connects within the same universe. Makes me ache for more of this series, for sure!

I was so excited when I heard that Julie was writing a new series! I couldn’t wait to read it and she didn’t disappoint! This is the first in the series which was about three friends, Jenna, Reece and Brent! This story had my hooked from the beginning. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

What a great way to start a series. It can sometimes be hard to start a new series because of the need to introduce various backgrounds and underlying characters but let me just say that this author did a wonderful job and I'm hooked! I loved this story and how are mIn couple worked through their own demons from their childhoods to accept love and happiness. I also loved the main storyline that will be the theme for more books. I can't wait to dive in and enjoy them all.

Down on Me is a fun read and a great debut story in the Man of the Month Series.

Lifelong friends Reece and Jenna come together and make a plan to save the bar that Reece works for. Feeling have surfaced between these two before, and years suppressing those feelings haven't worked. Jenna is a very likable character, Reece is a sexy H (per the usual for J Kenner).

This story is entertaining and sexy. I enjoyed reading Down on Me and look forward to the next Man of the Month.

This January… J. Kenner introduces a new man that will have you saying helloooooo Reece Walker!!! If you are a fan of friends to lovers romance, Down on Me will have you swooning and blushing. This is one of those quick romances that explores how two friends decided to finally act and explore on their attraction to one another and at the same time save a local bar. So if you are looking for a romance that was sizzling, sexy, and loads of fun then look no further than this book.

Reece can be too much at times, "he looked her straight in the eye, his expression so intense it seemed to push her back in her chair. "Don't you know by now that I'll always be there when you need me?" Reece isn't one for sharing, "because you're mine. Fully. Completely. Not Easton's. Not anyone else's. Mine to touch. Mine to eff. Do you understand?" This is going to be a great series if this book is anything to go by, the characters were so lovable.

J. Kenner does it again! I devoured this book in one sitting and you will, too! I can't wait to read the rest of this series - it's going to be a great year!

J Kenner has a way of writing a story and series that keeps you coming back. I wasn’t sure about Reece at the beginning of the book. I guess it’s some guys logic in how to deal with emotions that they feel they shouldn’t have. It’s a good thing that he finally came to his senses. Jenna was almost as bad, fearing the unknown and change in relationships. I can’t wait for the rest of the series and how friends are there for each other.

I loved this book. J Kenner has a way with her words that keep you wanting more. I absolutely love Reece and Jenna. i was entranced in this book as soon as I opened it to the first page. I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. Absolutely amazing writing, characters and storyline. Looking forward to reading more from her. Highly recommend this to all.

A story of true friends who are loyal, always there for each other and willing to help each other out no matter what just makes you feel good. Totally loved the ending......a perfect HEA for Reece and Jenna and I cannot wait for the next book!

I have always been a fan of J. Kenner, and when I heard she had a new series coming out I jumped for joy. This new series is off to a great start. This book was just the right length. And the perfect intro to this series. Reece and Jenna were great together, but the only thing I had issues with was keeping all of the names straight, but other than that I can wait for Mr. February.

January usually starts with a bang and all I can say is that I cannot wait for the rest of the year to read the books in this new series from Ms. Kenner. Reese has known Jenna since they were children and along with Brent they were the three musketeers. However, just before Jenna was to leave for Los Angeles, the dynamic changed between them. Things were fine as long as Jenna was away but when she returns, the heat between her and Reese is beginning to boil over. Neither one knows what is going on nor how they should handle the issue. The problem is Reese does not do committed relationships as he grew up with a poor role model and his greatest fear is losing Jenna’s friendship. Jenna is willing to accept Reese as he is but when an unexpected surprise comes her way, will she be able to keep to the status quo or will it be the thing that changes her mind about her relationship? When it comes to love is there any risk not worth taking?
This is one book that you will have read in one sitting because you do not want to put it down. It chronicles the trials and tribulations of friends to lovers and the absorbing writing style just makes a reader ache for more. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Oh wow I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I love J. Kenner and read every one of her books and loved every single one of them. This is the first book in the man of the month series 12 books to look forward to.

Down on me follows childhood friends Reece, Jenna and Brent. These guys are like family and have been through some tough times together and seen each other through to the other end. They part own a bar called the fix with other friends but it's not taking the money to stay open and pretty soon it will close. So when Jenna comes back after months away cause of her job in L.A she comes back to all this around her plus her feelings for Reece too.

So when they all try and come together to get the money for the fix to stay open, Reece and Jenna obviously spend a lot of time together and feelings start to show and Reece all of a sudden notices Jenna for the beautiful woman she is.

So when these two get together bam it's hot and it's sexy J. Kenner knows how to write a good sex scene. I love how everyone pulls together to try and save the bar, and just shows what family will do when they need each other. Can't wait for Mr February and see what's in store as we have a little teaser at the end of this book.

J. Kenner introduces us to her brand new series Man of the Month and boy Mr January is mighty fine… I’m a huge sucker for the friends to lovers’ trope, in fact it probably is my all-time favorite trope. I love the anticipation, the angst and seeing how relationships can move and change from friendships to so much more.

Reece, Brent and Jenna have been the absolute best of friends for most of their lives, the Three Musketeers as they were sometimes referred to. They know everything about each other and have always been there for one another. True friendship is hard to find and they have always been each other’s constant, through the many curve balls that life has thrown their way.

Eight months ago while in the process of moving from Austin to LA, Jenna had farewell drinks with her friends. It turned into quite the drunken event and Reece really went above and beyond protecting and looking after Jenna, ensuring she arrived home safely by carrying her inside.

Reece started to then see Jenna in a whole new light and started to develop feelings for his best friend that he had never felt before. He saw Jenna the woman, not Jenna as one of the guys. While helping the rather inebriated Jenna that night, it took all of his strength to walk away from her.

“…his thoughts still on Jenna, as wild and intense and impossible as they’d been since that night eight months ago when the earth had shifted beneath him, and he’d let himself look at her as a woman and not as a friend.”

She feels such an electrifying chemistry that whenever Reece is around sparks would fly. How will these two life-long best friends deal with their new feelings they have developed and will they risk everything to be together?

Down on Me was such a fun, fast paced friends to lovers story that entertained me throughout. This is the first book in J Kenner’s new Man of the Month series which will consist of twelve books in total and I am really looking forward to the second Hold on Tight, especially if it is as hot, steamy and enjoyable as the first.

I would definitely recommend Down on Me to all fans of the friends to lovers trope. This story consisted of characters that I adored and whose chemistry was off the charts…..hot and intense. You are sure to fall in love with Reece and Jenna and the way their relationship changed from friends to so much more.

I love J Kenners writing style, it just flows beautifully. She always writes angsty style romances. This one kick starts a new series of sexy alpha males appearing on a calendar to hopefully raise money to save The Fix... a bar the Reece is currently a partner of.

Both Reece and Jenner have been fighting their feelings following a drunken night a few years ago; now she's back in town. They have been best friends since school and by crossing the line could ruin that friendship. Things are never straightforward and in the usual J Kenner style events coming along which upset the natural order of things. This book is a friends to lovers books; it's a short quick read which progresses at a steady pace told from a third person POV.

Loved the characters, I just keep expecting Damien Stark to make an appearance! We are introduced to so many characters that I'm guessing will make an appearances in the subsequent Novellas to follow each following a new man for the calendar.

I’m super excited about J. Kenner’s new Man of the Month series and Down on Me was a great start to the series!

Reece and Jenna have been best friends for years—neither has tried to move their relationship beyond that because their friendship has been too important. Until they just can’t deny their feelings any longer! I loved their best-friends to lovers story! I truly enjoyed their characters and their concern about the potential harm to their friendship. And how their relationship may affect their “Three Musketeers” friendship with Brent too. It was fun, sexy and smart, not too much push and pull to leave us in suspense. It just worked for me.

And I love set-up for the rest of the books too. The Fix on Sixth bar is a terrific central point for all the storylines. I love the concept of the characters commonality with the bar. So fun and I can’t wait for the next one in the series! I have a feeling Spence and Brooke's story is going to have some fireworks!

I love the premise of the series, 3 friends band together to save their fledgling bar, each with different strengths. Jenna, with her marketing background comes up with an idea to make a Man of the Month calendar, with contests and votes leading up to the actual calendar. Count me in to meet these guys! Along the way, Jenna and Reece have to come to terms with how they want to proceed with each other, will their hearts finally have a go, or will they be ruining their friendship instead?
Down on Me is lighter than J. Kenner's previous hit Stark series, but with her impeccable writing, down-to-earth characters, and off-the-chart steam, her Man of the Month series is definitely one I cannot wait for the rest!

This is the first book in this new concept series by Ms. Kenner and it's a great start to a hot and sexy set of twelve books. Reese and Jenna have been friends for so many years and both of them are reluctant to risk that friendship by admitting their overwhelming attraction to each other.

Whew, boy! This book was so great and it sucked me right in. This is the first in J. Kenner's Man of the Month book series. And it kicked off with a bang! I ADORED this story. Reece is a good man. He has his core group of friends, which he's had for awhile, yet he's starting to feel something for his best girl friend, Jenna. Reece knew he couldn't act on it because Jenna didn't think of him THAT way. I loved this friends-to-lovers story! Brent and Jenna are like family to Reece. Jenna helps the bar that Tyree owns because they help family. While Jenna has a great idea to help the bar, they all have tasks to help pull this off. Yet there's this pull between her and Reece. It's a delicious build-up and the chemistry between them is H-O-T-T! I loved watching this journey between these friends and cheering for their bar! I think you'll get lost in Jenna and Reece's story, too! I highly recommend this read. Grab your copy now.

Down on Me is the first book in J. Kenner's new Man of the Month series. This best friends to lovers story was fast paced and fun with lots of steamy scenes. The story centers around 3 best friends trying to save their friend's bar.
We are introduced to a number of characters in this story who will all feature in the next 11 books and the epilogue sets us up nicely for book 2.
This first book is Reese and Jenna's story, you could feel the intensity of their chemistry from the start as well as the strong friendship they had with each other and the other member of their group Brent. I enjoyed reading this novel. Apart from the romance I loved the friendship aspect as well.
Complex characters, interesting story-line and some great chemistry all made this a good read. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Down on Me, introduces us to three friends, Reece, Jenna and Brent. These three have been friends their entire lives and are as close to siblings as you can be until things change.
Yeh, not telling what that is......you will want to read that part for yourselves. Let's just say that with the changes in each of their lives the author builds a great plot for us to thoroughly enjoy.

I will say they all become partners in a business endeavor and that is where the first book leads us. Don't fret. The author uses her savvy book writing talents to weave a fantastic beginning to what promises to be a fun and hot series.

I can't say enough good things about this book or the author providing it. If you ever experienced one of her books you will no doubt love this start to her new series.

I really wasn’t sure what I would get when I cracked open this story, but wow what a story it was. It was a brilliant one, full of passion, banter and that forbidden love that you are scared to take that first step. I really love the loyalty of Reece. He is a tough as nails kind of guy but will do whatever it takes for his friends. Enter Jenna, the friend that is forbidden fruit but trying to deny that passion is a chore. These two sizzle as they fight their attraction and I love how it all culminates in the end. The side story about the bar is utterly brilliant as it pulls in characters that you will most likely see later down the road. I found this one was the building blocks of this series and I am really looking forward to seeing more out of this series.. But so far, Reece has my heart!

Picking up a woman and taking her home for a quick romp.Lying to Brent that he had to work.The three had been close friends growing up and made childhood promise to be BFF'S forever.Reese's feeling for Jenna are more than a best friend and he won't break the promise's they all made to each other, Jenna is happy to be seeing her BFF'S,but not losing her dream job and returning home.Brent and Reese make her happy especially Reese. Her feeling are more than friend status for her as well. . It's the dam childhood promise that keeps them apart. I love the dynamic between the three friends and the loyalty and commitment they have for each other.

Best friends Jenna and Reece have secret feelings for each other but they are not so secret from Brent, the third friend in this trio who warns each to be careful. Eight months ago things suddenly became steamy for Jenna and Reece before Jenna moved to LA but Jenna was drunk and supposed didn't remember but Reece has been living in denial but now that Jenna is back in Austin the sparks are going off and cannot be denied. This was the perfect start to this series and just the right way to whet the appetite for more. The Fix on Sixth is a bar in dire need of saving and with this gang of friends on the job, lets hope they can do it. I really liked this one and glad the next one comes out in a couple weeks!

So excited for this new Man of the Month series. This first book is all about Reese and Jenna, two people who’ve been friends for years but want to take it further. Unfortunately Reese’s father has a horrible commitment history and Reese’s idea of love and forever are affected by this. As per usual, HEA is in store for our couple and the ending gives a hint about the next book. It was nice to see some “old friends” from other Kenner books, like Tyree and Griffin and I love how she often blends her stories so we see familiar characters. The only thing I wasn’t super into was the cover pic. The guy doesn’t fit my idea of Reese, but other than that the story is phenomenal!

Jenna Brent and Reece has been best friends forever always there for each other. Reece realise that he has feelings for Jenna but won't act on them and jeopardise there friendship. and she moves to LA. Now she is back and Reece is trying to keep his heart out of it but without any luck. is it possible to be together and make it last ? This is a brand new series from J. Kenner one each month. I can't wait. This one got it all. It was exciting from the beginning. It was sweet, hot and romantic. I love friendship romance a lot is at stake, will they make it or will they loose it all ?

The first book in the Man of The Month series, Down on Me introduces you to a world of intense interactions, a multitude of characters, and delightful background story.

This story followed one couple's trials and tribulations of working to save a bar while enjoying their romantic entanglements. I enjoyed their story, but I struggled to keep up with just them when there were so many people involved and so much going on around them. I'm sure it was the authors way of laying the groundwork for the next books, but I felt it took away from their story to an extent. I am looking forward to reading the next book though.

This is one amazing way to start a series. I love that the fact they Reece and Jenna have known each other for ages. I also adore that they are the last to know what others saw this coming and they didn’t. Most of all I love the combradiery between Brent, Reece, Jenna and Tyree. I just love the surprises that pops out and how the characters deal it them. Can’t wait for the next installment.

I absolutely loved this book!!! J. Kenner doesn't disappoint at usual!!! Mr. January is smoking hot!!! Reece and Jenna are the perfect friends to lovers couple!!! They have always loved each other as friends but as they became adults their attraction to each other changed into something stronger and though they tried to fight it...well, you just need to read the story :)

I loved this one!! The cover is amazing, but the story is perfect! Reece is a great hero and Jenna was an amazing heroine! Friends to lovers is a favorite genre of mine and it’s because of stories like one! The supporting characters are a solid group of friends and I can’t wait for more in this series!! 5 Stars!

Wow! I love this book. It was a page turner and I loved every second of reading this book. The characters were great and I easily fell in love with them. I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out, next month. This is an absolute must read!

I’m all in with this one! At first I thought the story was building a bit slow but then I realized this book is setting the stage for the rest of the story. By the end of this book I was savoring every page and looking forward to the next installment! I’ll be reading it the day it comes out!
