Pete at the Beach (My First I Can Read) - Pete the Cat

A hit with young readers. Pete is the right blend of fun with a gentle dose of life lesson (sharing, sportsmanship, trying new things, etc.)
Some Pete books are better than others and this is one of the handful I buy multiple copies of to give to children in our Reading to Dogs program.

LOVE Pete! Nuff said. This one is just FUN. Wasn't expecting to love it cause it's different (The "I can read" series), but the illustrations and story were fun and the detail in the story and pix was great. Wouldn't necessarily recommend as "I can read" but definitely for child that's going to the beach.

My sons first solo reading book. I loved it because it was more about knowing how to sound out words using the rules of phonics and a lot less of sight words and names. Most of the beginning level readers seem to be packed with sight words and proper nouns. I'm much more interested in my son practicing what he's learned about the sounds letters and blends make than how many words he can memorize and regurgitate. Great book!

Simple words and storyline for early readers. My son is in preschool and doesn't yet read. Yet he and the others in his class love this series. Illustrations are quirky and inviting. I don't quite get the allure, but they love it.

My granddaughter loves to read this book when she visits. It is the first one she will ask for before going to sleep. It is a cute story and well written. We have two of the Pete the Cat books and love them both.

Easy beginner reader. Pete and his family go to the beach. At first, he is scared to go in the water. His brother teaches him to surf and he has a blast. I got this book for my friend's kids and they loved it.

these are nothing fancy and the main reason why you should buy these instead of the hard covers that are a ripoff. its not like you going to have these books forever. these last just as long and are way cheeper

My English learners delight in reading Pete the Cat books. I need to have multiple copies of them and in hardcover, on my Kindle and the YouTube versions as well. Gets the entire family reading! GOODNESS YES!

Good book for beginners. Words are constantly repeated into several different sentences through-out the book to familiarize your child with them for easy reading. Nice bold lettering. Pictures are nice as well and corresponds with the sentences for a good visual story. Not too long for starters and great for a bed time story. My child loves I Can Read books. They are fun for children and not intimidating to first time readers. I highly recommend this for your child. Delivery was fast and on time.

She received this book plus "Pete And His Four Groovy Buttons" for her birthdat on 8/28 and is still asking for them to be read to her, according to her mom, at least 10 times a day. Definitely a hit with the two-year old crowd!
