This book is a great illustration of how God pursues us. We can choose to run into His arms or to follow the deceiver. Once we have accepted His love, we are expected to show others the way into His arms.

Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful!!!!
I think it's a beautiful description of anybody who's been in any kind of bondage, especially sexual.
I've never been sexually abused but I can definitely relate to sexual addiction.
Karen describes addiction so well. I think she also does an amazing job conveying the love of God & the power that comes from knowing He's your father.
I love her emphasis on Jesus' hugs & Jesus eyes... everything so beautiful. Just what I needed :')

Brilliant story around true Christian principles. Just because you are a Christian things are not always going to be plain sailing, but you are not alone. AMEN. Also it helped me deal with bad things that had happened to me that I had buried deep for far too long. Thank you sooo much.

I read this on a mission trip several years ago. I LOVED it. Being a fan of the completely misunderstood Mary Magdalene, this story is of modern day Mary. So glad to be able to add it to my Kindle today for FREE!!! (and read it again this Lent)

(This Book Is Not For Younger Readers) This book was very hard for me to read. The description of Mary's life was very heartbreaking. Karen Kingsbury is a wonderful author who makes her characters believable and extremely lifelike. She does a great job of showing the power Jesus has to transform lives!!!!!

This book is absolutely amazing! The only fictional book I have read more then once. It may be fiction, but it just goes to show how testimonies have profound effects on people's lives! How someone who has been through the most unspeakable things can be redeemed by Jesus! Made completely whole by Christ! And how that testimony can impact and change the course of someone else's life!

I love how Karen Kingsbury truly cares for her readers! She has made this book available for free download for a certain amount of time, and it is worth it! Whether you have lived a dark life like Mary's or not, we all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. And many of us think to ourselves at some point either "God will never accept me" or "why do bad things happen? God must not care". I think Kingsbury wanted those readers to know that Jesus' love is enough, God is the end-all for what humans are looking for in life, to heal them, to love them, to know them. After years of reading her books, she makes me as a reader feel "normal". She knows how to reveal a Christian or non-Christian's deep inner thoughts and desires that many people would never admit to. And it brings sin to light. It brings hope to me. Hope that I'm not too far gone for Jesus, He is still working and rescuing me, everyday. Kingsbury seems to know the simplicity and complexity of salvation, and the process a human goes through to get there. That's one thing I really admire about her as a writer, she trudges through the muck with these characters, doesn't just skip ahead to the good times. Overall, I was very pleased to read Divine! :)

This was a page turner for me. Excellently written. Dealing with a difficult issue in a very real and forthright way, something which I realise has proven offensive to some other readers, but I believe an spade should be called a spade. I finished this book in what I believe is record time but then again I generally enjoy Karen Kingsbury's work! Definitely Divine!!

My only warning...be prepared to read for a while, because once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down! Incredibly well written and hits on the real world issues that Christian writers often won't deal with.
