Action, intrigue, believable, realistic in the current world situation.. A combination of archeology, history, religion and combined to make, in my opinion, an exceptionally outstanding read., Well defined characters, the hero a sort of Indiana Jones and his partner but not as overboard. US Spec Ops, Interpol, Vatican guards, Rome Police, all combined as a working group to thwart the destruction of the Vatican and murder of the Pope. If you miss this one with all its elements then you missed a really great read. I have not yet read any of the other books in this series yet but am looking forward to them.

Two archeologists, man and wife, travel to the Vatican to investigate an uncovered room beneath it. Finding a scroll that was dated in the time of Mohammad and written by a scribe in front of him, fanatic Jihadist stage a riot that takes over Vatican City. Destruction and killings result at various places around the world. Struggles ensue that save the City and the priceless relics preserved in the Vatican. Very fascinating book!

Did not expect the story would deal primarily with religious war between the Christian and Muslim communities..found the opening chapters most Iinteresting.the continuous description of the fighting I found boring ang repititious.

If you like action then James Action is your guy. I read these books in one sitting real page turner. Twist and turns galore. These are not books with a lot of flowery prose describing landscapes and inner conflicts. It's all about action and moving the story along. Yes it's not very believable but when you read one of these you need to suspend belief and just go all in have fun and wait for the next one.

Non-Stop Action!
This is the best Acton yet--Kennedy just keeps getting better! The action is intense, the plot terrifying and believable, and as with all Kennedy's books, you never know who's going to survive in the end! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Rollicking thriller, but a little disconnected. Assuming there is an earlier book, definitely read that first, because otherwise, as I found out, the too-frequent allusions to this prior book provide a constant and unwelcome distraction.
The book is advertised as something that would appeal to those who enjoyed The DaVinci Code, etc, but compared to them it's only half a book. It has the "exciting" bits, but none of the well-thought-through history or mystery. Could have been good, but instead was a disappointment.

Started off w/great promise; then nose-dived. 5% of this story was about the "relic" - next 95% was a repetitive blow-by-blow of the storming of the vatican.
These self-published novels make it perfectly clear why professional publishers are WORTH their weight in fees!!
So many of these stories/books hold great promise, but continually always end up falling flat & or tanking badly; which a professional publisher would have greatly improved!!

What happens when an ancient scroll in Arabic surfaces...and it disagrees with certain tenets of Islam? Open warfare and rioting. Attacks on the Vatican and an audacious plot to destroy Catholicism/Christianity.
