Ms Feehan never fails to deliver. Just when I think there is nothing more to write about she comes up with a new concept and characters that seem real. Thank you Christine Feehan for always delivering.

Really enjoying the evolution of this new series. Another great example of Christine Feehans ability to create heroes and heroines that are seemingly invincible yet vulnerable at the same time. Sexy and engaging.

Not as good as the first book in the series but a fair addition. I wasn’t as into the Shibari as the author was and could have done with a lot less of it but not everything has to be for everyone, at least it was different. I was glad that Ricco’s playboy says caught up with him a little bit- in many romance novels you have the male character having a blatant tomcat past and then the poor naive virginal female lead just accepting his former public property status with a wink and a smile. Here, for once it was an issue and almost ruined the relationship initially. Overall, this series is not my favourite from Christine Feehan, but I am looking forward to hopefully having Emma’s book with Val next.

This book had me confused (had to research shibari/kinbaku); anxious (you will have to read to find out why); sad (for Mariko) and finally happy (sigh of relief for Ricco and Mariko). Can't wait for the next installment, please let it be Val and Emme story.

Another great book by Feehan...this series is as good as any of the other series she writes. I really enjoyed Ricco & Mariko's story. As usual I start it & get engrossed & cannot put the book down till I finish it.

I have been waiting on this book I have called the store 3 times because I had my dates wrong when it was being published.. to tell you the truth I am about halfway through the book and really don't feel like going back finish reading it. I think it has something to do with those ropes every scene everybody have their fetishes, but this little bit too much for me. I have been reading for many years and I truly enjoy Miss Feehan works. But this one not so much she has been one of my favorite authors for many many years, but not with this story. I don't really know what to say but only maybe we need to go back... regroup because the first book was awesome ,and stop worrying about what colors your girl is...one looks like because if she's part Japanese that is her heritage and it shouldn't matter to your readers. Go back and keep us enthrall like you've always done with your other Warriors. This will not stop me, from reading your books, but it will slow me down about not spending my money quite as fast. I'm not a writer myself but I do hope this will help someone in their process of weeding out of books .. not waste your money on. Times are hard and we can't afford to just throw away money even with an author that we really love.

I never give bad reviews. But I seriously hated this book. Not sure what the author was thinking, but it's nothing like the first book. I made myself finish it, just to see if would improve at all. It didn't. Don't waste your money on this book.

Another rider finds his bride amidst violence and bloodshed. Death, madness, feuds, intrigue. Intense, dramatic, passionate, devious. A masterpiece by an outstanding author. I love this new series. More, please.

I know I am the odd man out on Shadow Reaper. There are so many 4 & 5 star reviews but I am sorry Shadow Reaper is a total failure in my opinion. For the last 3 or 4 years The Queen of Paranormal Romance Christine Feehan has been a Hit Or Miss. This was a Miss. She spent to much time on outlandish fight action scenes instead of equalizing it with romantic scenes between Ricco Ferraro and Mariko Majo/Tanakas. Ok I am not interested in reading about rope tying what the heck is this, just a fancy way of describing sexual bondage? Oh don't get me started with the repetition verses in this story. CF says the same thing over and over just in a different ways. There has to be 50 plus characters names you have to remember, either Italian or Japanese names which she uses to fill up her word count.
I am sorry to all my many Feehan friends out there but this is a terrible story!! but I am glad you liked it. For those of you who know me. You know I call it as I read it. I don't think this is the series for me. I can't see myself reading Nicolette's story. I am sick of heroines who have been repeatedly gang raped and beaten. In this case Nicolette by her 3 step uncles. She has beaten and raped everyday by them for 2 years!! I Cannot Not Recommend this series. But I love Christine Feehans Dark series, GhostWalker series and her Leopard series. I will just stick with those series. Sometimes an author can write to many series and loose there way!

Shadow Reaper by Christine Feehan is the 2nd book in her fantastic Shadow Riders series. Having read just about everything by Christine Feehan, I am amazed that this series is quickly becoming my favorite. I love the first book, Shadow Rider, and I must say that Shadow Reaper was equally great. I am loving every moment of this series. Now to my review. ?
A quick refresher on Shadow Riders:. Shadow riders have the ability to blend themselves to the shadows wherever they are, making themselves invisible to anyone. The Ferraro family run a legitmate business, live and protect the town where they live, and use their ability to help others in need to solve various problems and dispense justice
In Shadow Reaper, Ricco Ferraro is our hero, and at the start, his family (they are all elite shadow riders), are watching over him in the hospital. Ricco, who had a violent crash, which almost cost him his life, was determined to go home to recuperate. But his family, especially Stefano, the leader of the family, know Ricco has been reckless, and they suspect he is hiding a terrible secret. It will take Ricco, to see how happy Stefano is with Francesca, and know that he needs to find a woman who is capable of mating with a shadow rider, which will bring him out of the darkness that consumes him.
We meet Mariko, when she applies to be a rope model (shibari) for Ricco, who when interviewing her sees she is also a shadow rider. Ricco knows that the innocent persona presented by Mariko is hiding that she is there to kill him. Mariko has had a difficult life, and we learn early that she has been ordered to kill Ricco. But someone else is also plotting against Ricco and the entire Ferraro family, which becomes a major mystery throughout the story. Mariko will find herself attracted to Ricco, and knows he is a good man, which enables her to tell him the truth. The family will stand by Ricco and Mariko as the danger escalates for all of them. Slowly Mariko begins to feel like part of the family, and wants to help them fight off the enemy.
The romance between Ricco and Mariko was scorching hot, with even the rope modeling being very steamy & intense. Besides the sensual romance, the overall story line was very exciting. I loved seeing all the Ferraro’s work and bond together to fight their enemy, with many of them becoming injured. They are a powerful team, but they are all so much fun to spend time with. What I also love about this close-knit family is their loyalty, protection and care giving to their surrounding townsfolk. It will be Stefano & Ricco who will bring in other Shadow riders to help find the one behind the attacks, and it is a surprise ending as to who is behind this.
Shadow Reaper was such a fantastic story; nonstop action, suspenseful, steamy romance, great couple, awesome family and very exciting. As I have said before, this series has become one of my favorite series by Christine Feehan very quickly.

Wow! I loved this installment in the Shadow Riders series. It started fast and never let me up for air. Wild, heart thumping action; tempered with a sensual and hot romance. Ricco is a hard man to describe, there were so many enticing layers to him. I liked Mariko from the start. Strong, intelligent and loyal. She had so many obstacles in her life, yet she wasn’t bogged down by them. I really wanted them both to be happy, so they could go on enjoying that big family of his. I like how the Ferraros banter, then get down to scary business. I think this is one book that I’ll be reading again, just so I can get psyched up for the next one.

Shadow Reaper is book two in the Shadow series. I love a good paranormal romance and was really intrigued by the powers explained in book one so I had to grab this installment. This series revolves around a very tight-knit crime family that has the power to ride shadows.
We start off with Ricco Ferraro, one of the Ferraro brothers we met in book one in the hospital after a car accident. He's kind of lost his way and after he heals a bit and is out of the hospital he tries to look for his mate. He has a bit of a kink and is looking for a rope/Shibari model. After a long day of interviews, he finally comes across a woman, Mariko Majo that stops him in his tracks. He knows immediately that she is a fellow shadow rider and she's the girl he's been looking for. They wind up signing a six-month contract, but he knows Mariko has an ulterior motive for being with him. Attacks quickly begin to happen to friends and family of the Ferraros and Ricco and Mariko's past quickly come to light. They team up to figure out who is behind the attacks before it's too late.
Shadow Reaper really kept me on my toes while reading. I was trying to figure out the whodunit aspect while watching Mariko and Ricco's romance blossom. Things get a bit hot during the rope scenes which was a bit of a surprise for me, I didn't know that was going to be in this book but it suited the story. Something I was really glad to see in this installment was more details on the rigorous training the shadow riders go through. It really affected Ricco from childhood and Mariko's life was changed during that time as well and it kind of broke my heart. I thought they were well suited for one another and I really loved the whodunit aspect. All in all, if you're looking for a unique Paranormal Romance and haven't tried this series I think you'd enjoy it.

I never expected to learn something from Shadow Reaper, but I sure did. I always thought Shibari was only for erotic pursuits, never as an actual art form, a discipline that requires focus and trust and respect. It added quite the unique element to this second novel in the Shadow Rider series.
This time the hero is Stefano’s brother, Ricco. Once again, the first chapter sets up the hook, showing that Ricco has secrets, ones that he even has to keep from his family. Scenes also showed me that the hero is fast losing hope of finding the woman who’ll accept who he is, while being ‘what’ he is. Females like that are rare and almost impossible to find. The one that slips in at the last minute has her own secrets and when Ricco reveals what he believes to be true about her, I was a goner. Reading Shadow Reaper became a compulsion to read and I was powerless to resist.
The plot conflict is huge. I mean it’s mind bogglingly complex, exciting, nerve-wracking, suspenseful and action packed making this novel a true page turner. How are the attacks choreographed so perfectly? Who is doing it? Why? How can they be stopped? Will anyone survive? All these thoughts chased through my brain as I watched each family member, and secondary character that I came to know, come under fire. The Ferraro family is a force of nature but they’re tested to the max in this novel.
Like I said, Shibari is used to good effect with Mariko. The sensual buildup is intense. The sexual delivery is lava-hot and incendiary. Readers who seek highly detailed seduction will find it between the pages of this book.
One of the strongest elements in this novel is the circle of life. What began in the past ends up being finished in the present but not how I imagined nor with whom. Readers are in for a wild ride if they are as clueless as I was as to the truth of the plot’s instigators. Since the suspense is intense, and I had no nails left to bite from Shadow Rider, I consumed a LOT of pretzels instead. I think it’s called ‘stress eating’. Wow, did this book pack a punch.
Seriously, the second book in the series is just as amazing and gripping as the first one and has an equally satisfying HEA. If readers are like me, they’ll want to swoon when Ricco does that thing he does to the back of Mariko’s neck. It gave me delicious shivers and I loved it! Ms. Feehan has another success on her hands and I think readers are going to adore it. Pick up your own copy of Shadow Reaper and meet Ricco after you’ve read Stefano’s story first. I’m sure glad I did! This read was awesome!

The world that the author has created is definitely an interesting one. This is the second book in the Shadow Riders series and it’s just as entertaining as the first. In this installment we get Ricco’s and Mariko’s story. Ricco is perceived as a billionaire playboy in the media. He always has a new girl on his arm every time he’s spotted. His family is viewed as some sort of mob, and to a degree they kind of are. They are shadow riders and they take their job very seriously. They seek justice for those who require it. People come to them for help, and they travel through the shadows in order to serve justice. The whole concept definitely adds something new to the table of paranormal romances.
Mariko is a character that we didn’t get a chance to meet in the previous book. While we do get to see all of the previous characters that were introduced in the first book, Mariko is a new member to the series and therefor she is brought up to speed on who is who. So, I suppose you could read this book even if the first book doesn’t appeal to you because the author explains some of the main characters for you. As for Mariko, even though she is new to us, she is not necessarily new to Ricco. I don’t want to give anything away but lets just say that it’s not your typical jilted love.
Due to these two characters history and their intertwined pasts, the story went well past what I was expecting. I thought it would be your typical damsel in distress, superhero alpha, and some insta-love type romance. What I wasn’t expecting was a kick-ass heroine who I think took out more people than the hero did. I mean, there’s a scene in this novel where Mariko is jumping through shadows, popping in and out, snapping guys necks like a boss. She comes off as this beaten down meek little thing but man, with her, looks are deceiving.
Shadow Reaper wasn’t anything that I expected. The relationship between the two was a lot deeper than I thought it was going to be. The fight scenes seemed more intense than the last book. Plus, the villain was not someone I saw coming. If you’re looking for a darker paranormal romance than I would recommend giving this series a try.

The Shadow books is one of Christine Feehan’s new series where fans are just starting to meet the Ferraro family and all of their cousins (believe, me they have A LOT). The first book centered on Stefano Ferraro’s story, how he is the head of the Ferraro family, takes care of his own, and finds his love interest.
In book two, fans find themselves knowing more about another sibling within the Ferraro family, Ricco, the playboy and car racer. Ricco has a dark past and secret he keeps hidden from his siblings in order to protect them. Then along comes Mariko, a shadow rider from Japan who has an agenda of her own to follow.
There are a couple of aspects that I liked that the book focused on: 1) Mariko’s story, particularly how she was physically, mentally, and emotionally abused by her adopted family, making her think that she wasn’t good enough as a person and female, worth anything, or beautiful. Throughout the book she goes through the process of finding and learning to love and accept herself, just like accepting Ricco’s love for her and in any case another person in general caring for her. 2) The strong family bond between the Ferraro’s and everyone around them. There are several scenes where the Ferraro’s are in need of a helping hand and in exchange they receive many helping hands. The bond they share with those they protect and care about is present in who they least expect.
I liked the flashbacks that detailed Ricco’s past just like Mariko’s in order for the reader to understand the events that lead to the Ferraro’s present problems. The main fight/action scene was one of my favorite parts of the book. It’s divided in different POVs of the Ferraro siblings and it is perfectly sequenced, something I have really come to like about Feehan’s fight scenes. One more thing I really enjoy are scenes with several characters interactions, like family dinners, you get a lot of information from those scenes.
As much as I’m trying to predict the next book’s main character, I just can’t guess, but I do have my eye on Giovanni or Emmanuelle. I don’t know if my predictions are right about these characters, but if they are, it would be really interesting to see how their stories develop. But time can only tell.
If you’re new to Christine Feehan I recommend you start the Shadow series from book one, there are several characters to keep track of and even I would get confused at times, but if you’re a fan then you know what you’re getting yourself into: hot guys, romance, and drama, and Shadow Reaper has it all.

Shadow Reaper is the second book in The Shadow Riders series. This is Ricco’s story. He’s been hiding a secret for many years about his time in Japan. Each Rider, at some point during their young life, is sent somewhere to train for a few years while living with a host family. Ricco spent some years from about the age of twelve, training in Japan. The incoming Riders and female Riders were not treated well by the instructors or other children. Then there comes a night where Ricco’s life comes crashing down around him. The incident caused the instructors and their families to threaten Ricco with the death of his family if he ever reveals the truth of what happened that night. So Ricco went home after his time was up, and did everything he could to not only keep the secret, but to keep his family members from being attacked. During his time in Japan, he was taught the skill of Shibari, or rope tying. He finds it helps relax him. After a crazy accident with his car, Ricco decides he is going to hire a rope model and really get into his hobby. Maybe even produce a book of his art. What he really wants is to meet someone he can be with. He wants what Stefano and Francesca have.
Mariko needs this job as a rope model. She has arrived in Chicago with a mission and this job will give her the access she needs. Mariko is honorable and will do her own investigation before actually performing the task given her. It leaves her with a very hard choice between her morals and her family. Her choice gets made pretty early on and her true reason for applying for the job of rope model gets revealed to Ricco and the family.
However, Mariko is not the only person that has been sent to destroy the Ferraro family. They are attacked, each family member at the same time. The main members of the Chicago Ferraro family are descended upon and not all survive.
I fell in love with Ricco. He is so patient and protective. He carried around so much guilt for something he just couldn’t have prevented. It maddened me that it took awhile for it to sink into him that although he didn’t do things that night in the past, he was still a hero for what he accomplished. I love that even though Ricco and Mariko feel a strong connection when their shadows meet, they didn’t just fall into bed. Ricco was so aware of what Mariko was thinking and feeling that he didn’t push. He took things slow, trying out the Shibari slowly with her.
Mariko had such a low self-esteem and Ricco had to really work on that. It drove him crazy. But Mariko, being the strong, determined Rider she is, really stepped up and put a boatload of trust into Ricco. Being a rope model puts her in a pretty vulnerable position, but Mariko really starts to flourish.
Sometimes I felt like the Shibari scenes were kind of slow reading for me. They almost felt like too much information, but I think that was meant so we could understand the art. The action scenes were fast paced as the family gets attacked and I sped through trying to make sure everyone was alright. That trailer showing a Ferraro tombstone had me scared to death so I was just waiting for the awful deed to find out who it was. I love how kick-ass Mariko is and how she helps out Ricco during the attack on him.
I’m still curious about Nicola and how they are going to train her. I hope we get to see her heal more and become more trusting of the Ferraros. She is still being hunted, so I’m hoping the family gets her into some kind of training, even if she can’t use the shadows she should have been trained to use since she was a toddler.
I really enjoyed Shadow Reaper and can’t wait for more. The build up of the romance, despite how frustrating Mariko was about it sometimes, was nice and the action was fast paced and breath stealing. Shadow Riders are a different kind of supernatural and the skills they have are truly unique. Shadow Reaper is a great read and if you haven’t given this series a try yet, I strongly urge you to.
I was provided a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

With SHADOW REAPER, Feehan has managed to improve a series I already enjoyed. The part I liked, the sexy and dark vibe, was maintained, but the main characters felt more realistic and not so over-the-top. Also, the very original world continues to grow, and I find myself looking forward to all of the Ferraro siblings' stories!
Ricco was sweet and definitely a dominant character, but without the ridiculous levels of stubborn and bossy that characterized Stefano in the previous book. Mariko is completely different from Francesca's more submissive personality and she is a handful. She's got the shadow rider skills to match Ricco, but she lets herself be tied up by him. She's an enigma and a very interesting character. While Ricco's transition from playboy to crazy-in-love doting boyfriend was a little bit of a stretch, and the instalove he feels for Marik0 is mildly annoying, the development of their relationship outside of that is lovely to watch, as they get more comfortable with each other and learn more about each other.
While the storyline was a bit crazy, it kept me on the edge of my seat, with a twist I didn't see coming until the end! We learn more about the shadow rider world, and a little bit more about the various families, which is interesting. Plus, we learn what happened to Ricco in Japan, which was only hinted at in SHADOW RIDER. One aspect of the plot line, Ricco's interest in shibari and Marik0's desire to be a model for him, was really cool, as that is not something we frequently see in paranormal romance novels and it added a very sexy edge to the relationship.
All in all, SHADOW REAPER is a great second installment in the Shadow series. I devoured this dark, suspenseful novel, and I can't wait to read more about the Ferraro family.

Christine Feehan has done it once again! She has given this reader another favorite book! Her talents are wonderful! I can’t wait to read more from her! She brings the reader into her books at the first page and transplants the reader into the book as if the reader is a character in the book.
Ricco has been in the hospital for two weeks after an epic car accident after crashing his car into a wall at two hundred plus miles an hour. Ricco and his family all can not only shadow ride, meaning they can use shadows to get from one place to another, but the family can also tell when someone is lying to them. It is a handy ability one which this reader would LOVE to have! Ricco is a ropes master, it is an art one that Ricco has perfected over his life time. After rounds of Rope model’s being seen over the course of three sessions, Ricco is ready to admit defeat when Mariko timidly comes into the room believing that she was too late. Something about the musical notes in Mariko’s voice shot through Ricco so hard that he was unable to breathe, but he suspects that she is there to kill him. Can he convince her to not kill him all the while trying to woo her so that she doesn’t leave him?
Mariko Majo, she was trained from birth to be a shadow rider, and she became very good at it. When she gets a message saying “Kill Ricco Ferraro, a rider in the States, or your brother Ryuu dies. You have three weeks to complete this task.”, she takes a position as a Rope model for Ricco to get close to him to decide if she really must kill him or if there is something else going on where someone has Ricco on a “hit list” and they don’t want to be the ones to take him out on their own. There are things that will amuse and will discourage her from completing her task but can she keep emotions out of the equation where her heart is concerned?
Over the course of many adventures and some misadventures Ricco and Mariko find themselves asking each other what they want and what they don’t want? Can you be truthfully when everything you have read points to misleading truths? What will happen in the end if one side can’t deal with the other’s past? Could true love really be out there for everyone?
I was given this advanced copy for free in return for an honest review. I give this book a 5-star rating and can’t wait to continue reading the series!!!!!

4.25 stars--SHADOW REAPER is the second installment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary, adult SHADOW paranormal, romance series focusing on the Ferraro family-a Chicago crime family that uses ‘shadows’ to move about in secret. This is Ricco Ferraro, and Mariko Majo’s story line. SHADOW REAPER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Shadow Reaper contains scenes of graphic violence that may not be suitable for all readers.
Told from several third person perspectives including Ricco and Mariko SHADOW REAPER focuses on betrayal and revenge, as it follows the building relationship between billionaire playboy and shadow rider Ricco Ferraro, and Mariko Majo-a woman whose past is mired in blood and death. The darkness in Ricco is closing in, and our hero is desperate to find the one woman to calm his soul. Ricco is a master in the art of Shibari rope play and hopes to find a ‘rope model’ that is worthy of his ministrations and strengths. Enter Mariko Majo, a shadow rider, but also a woman from a long line of woman who have also modeled for the art of rope. What ensues is the fated romance between Mariko and Ricco, and the search for the people targeting the Ferraro family for sins of the past.
SHADOW REAPER is a story about one woman’s search for the truth, and one family’s battle with ghosts from the past. The Ferraro family is a well-respected Chicago crime family who take care of their own but when the entire family is targeted, not everyone will survive to see retribution and revenge.
Christine Feehan’s SHADOW series is similar in context to her Dark (Carpathian) series in that the male must find his mate-a woman who is capable of riding the shadows-or at the very least with the ability to bear children with the shadow riding gene. SHADOW REAPER contains scenes of graphic violence, blood shed and death; the $ex scenes are limited but long and intense although there are numerous sexual situations including the erotic art of Shibari rope play that is both sensual and seductive.
There are a large number of secondary and supporting characters including all of the Ferraro siblings, their extended family of cousins and relations, as well as an assortment of international shadow riding clans from Europe, Asia and Russia. The requisite evil has many faces and is very familiar to our story line couple.
SHADOW REAPER is an intense story of betrayal and revenge; family and blood; revelation and retribution. The premise is inventive and captivating; the characters are animated, colorful and dramatic; the romance is fated, passionate and energetic. Christine Feehan has created a sultry world of shadows and the supernatural where one family is bound by honor and code.

Ricco Ferraro is a new addition to my list of favorite male leads! He's a shadow rider with an artist's soul. (Basically, a shadow rider uses actual shadows to travel to and from destinations and mete out justice when necessary. It's actually a pretty cool and unusual concept) He's loyal, protective, and loves fiercely when he lets someone get close. He's also a well trained fighter and spirited daredevil, constantly seeking the next thrill to bring something lively to his lonely existence.
Mariko Majo was a conundrum. She could be shy, awkward, easily intimidated and full of so many self doubts, she made me want to pull my hair out! She was also intelligent, highly trained in fighting and had a quick wit. And the best part! When baddies threaten someone she cares for, this chic could open a can of whoop a** in no time and leave the enemy dead and buried before you could blink an eye-I loved her!
I was in book heaven with the amount of fighting action and enjoyed how it was nicely balanced with Rico and Mariko's relationship. Because of Ricco's artistic outlet choice, he and Mariko hit an emotional rapport fairly quick and I liked how Feehan let the sexual chemistry build up over a longer duration than usual. It made the relationship more believable and enduring, especially after the emotional knocks Mariko and Ricco both taken as children and adults.
Book two in the Shadow series, Shadow Reaper is loaded with action and suspense, twisted humor, and family quality time-killing mercenaries totally counts in the quest for vengeance and justice! We also get to know more about the Ferraro siblings and I'm hoping Emmanuelle and Valentino Saldi's story is next! Talk about chemistry.. woohoo! Now back to Ricco and Mariko, their book had a strong storyline, great romance, and I would happily recommend this book to paranormal suspense readers!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the Berkley via NetGalley.

I loved, loved, loved book 2 in Feehan's new series. I have been anxiously waiting for its release ever since book 1, Shadow Rider, came out and I fell in love with the Ferraro family. Mariko was Rocco's perfect match. A great blend of passionate, strong, and vulnerable. Ricco has held secrets from his family ever since he was 14 years old, all in order to protect them. Now as an adult, he has grown jaded and lost. His playboy persona and celebrity status no longer satisfies him and when he is in a car accident he and his family wonder if he had become suicidal. He doesn't even know the real answer to that question, but he wants out of the way his life has been going and so he sets out to find a rope model for his Shibari art. He hopes that his art will be able to save him and that maybe he will find a woman who can accept him with all of his baggage, even if she isn't his "shadow soul mate". What he doesn't expect is for the last applicant to be a Shadow Rider that he is pretty sure has been sent to kill him. He is intrigued and hires her anyway. Mariko has a rough and tragic past, one she doesn't realize until later is connected very closely to Rocco's secrets from when he was 14. She soon discovers that she cannot kill him even if it is to save her brother. He draws her into his world and they slowly seduce each other using his art as the catalyst. They grow closer and they definitely know how to steam up the page. The conflict was strong and the villains weren't easily seen. Feehan wove together a complex conflict with ties to both of their pasts and when the entire Ferraro family is attacked they all ban together to seek justice and to find her brother. I loved it and I absolutely hate that I now have to wait an unknown amount of time before book 3 comes out. I am hoping it is Emmanuelle's story!!! Love this series so much and I highly recommend it.

Shadow Reaper is book 2 in Christine Feehan’s Shadow Riders series. Ms. Feehan has built an incredible, original, intriguing and sexy world with the Shadow Riders series. I do strongly suggest you read bk 1 to get a better understanding of the Shadow Rider’s world.
Ricco and Mariko are both strong individuals with horrible experiences in their past, I felt they were perfect for each other. Their chemistry was intense and each provided the other with something that they needed to start moving on from their past hurts. There are many twists and turns in Shadow Reaper that kept me on the edge of my seat and some shocking me so much I thought to myself “Did I just read what I thought I did?” I found that this is one of the few times I have actually enjoyed the action and suspense in a book more than the sex scenes. Now this could be because I’m not a huge fan of Shibari and found the scenes to be a tad long, making me skip through them, don’t get me wrong there are part of the scenes that are truly hot and I would say some of the best Shibari scenes I’ve read. The only other issue I had was I thought explaining how the Riders felt each time they entered the shadows got repetitive. I can 100% say that I totally understand what happens when entering the shadows and don’t need to be reminded each time. (Wait was I just repetitive?)
I absolutely fell in love with the Shadow Rider world and the Ferraro siblings and cousins in book 1, my love for both only increased while reading Shadow Reaper.
All in all in I did really enjoy reading Shadow Reaper, just not as much as Shadow Rider. But don’t we all have at least one book in a much loved series that we don’t like as much as the others? I absolutely can’t wait for the next book in this innovative, original series Ms. Feehan has shared with us!

Although Christine Feehan has been around in the romance world for years, I had not had the pleasure of reading one of her novels until I read Shadow Rider last year. I was absolutely enthralled with the Ferraro family and this entire world and cast of characters Christine has created! She does a great job of painting the scenes, making you feel like you are right there with the characters.
Shadow Reaper picks up shortly after Shadow Rider ends, but this time, we are following Ricco, one of the other Ferraro brothers. I loved that while a new story, some themes and story arcs carried over from Shadow Rider. Ricco was a bit of a mystery in Rider, but in Shadow Reaper we get to see why he is the way he is. And when you find out why Ricco is the way he is, your heart just may break for him!
Ricco meets Mariko very early on in the book, and you can see the chemistry from the first sight! One thing I loved about the relationship between them is the complexity. Without spoilers, all I will say is that nothing is always what it seems, and people can have conflicting agendas and still make it work.
Ricco spent a long time studying in Japan, and while there, he learned an ancient art form that he practices still. He was looking for a model when he met Mariko, so they are able to share in this love of the art. It added another layer of intimacy and trust between the two.
One of the main reasons I was hooked immediately with Christine rang true for Shadow Reaper as well, and that was her ability to write an extremely intricate and detailed action sequence. I LOVE a good action scene, but so many authors end them earlier than I want them to. Christine nailed it with this book, and I was stuck glued to my Kindle FOREVER (it only felt that way) trying to get to the outcome!
I really loved Shadow Reaper, and I cannot wait for more books from Christine in the future!

The Ferraro family are back! Was I stalking the shelves, haunting my kindle? Well, yes, but for very good reason! And Ricco and Mariko’s story is it!
“He wanted Mariko there with them. His woman. He just had to find a way to seduce her without being killed.”
Their stories are complicated. Painful, full of blinding grief and hurt, they both have lived their lives in the shadows of haunting events from years ago. Their coming together is shrouded in sexual tension, secrets, and the comforting feeling their souls were meant for each other…
“He would always be dominant, scary to enemies and yet gentle with those he loved.”
The Ferraro family members are alpha men and women. They are shadow riders, by birth, by blood, by family. There is a price to be paid, however, and Ricco knows that only too well. His story, Mariko’s story, unfolds in one devastating revelation after another. Their hearts are firmly in the right place as their minds try to keep up with each blow that comes their way. Trust and control, compassion and love wind their way through Ricco and Mariko’s relationship, binding them together one thread at a time…
This author knows paranormal. She can write unique stories, entire series that feel fresh and new each time. Family and love are at the center of each, however, and this series proves it in entertaining detail. I am almost giddy knowing there are many more Ferrero stories to come – and they have a heck of a lot of extended family. *insert happy dance right here*

>Book Review – Shadow Reaper
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Shadow Rider series and ends in an HEA. Ricco is the most tortured of the Ferraro brothers. He suffered some type of trauma as a child, while training in Japan. This book addresses his trauma, bringing it all out into the open. Ricco uses the Japanese art of Shibari in order to de-stress and hires Marika as his rope model. He recognizes her as his shadow partner and sets about to seduce her.
>Marika has a hidden agenda that falling for Ricco will ruin. This book includes all of the Ferrero family and their friends, along with plenty of action. Marika and Ricco’s past intersect in such a way as to cause plenty of love, loss and betrayal.
>The Shibari rope scenes were very interesting. I enjoy glimpses into new practices. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. Ricco is not quite as alpha as Stefano, but just as hot.

>The Shibari rope scenes were very interesting. I enjoy glimpses into new practices. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. Ricco is not quite as alpha as Stefano, but just as hot.

I absolutely loved SHADOW RIDER and couldn't wait to get my hands on SHADOW REAPER. Although book two didn't blow me away, I still enjoyed jumping back into the Shadow world and revisiting some of my favorite characters from book one.
I really liked both Ricco and Mariko as characters and they worked well together as allies and a couple, but their relationship didn't seem to resonate as deeply with me as Stefano and Francesca from book one did. I don't know why, I just felt like their romance was missing that all consuming connection that I was looking for. On top of that, I wasn't really into the Shibari aspect of their relationship so those moments bored me more than pulled me in. Their back stories however pulled me in like their relationship didn't. Both of their stories were very interesting and heartbreaking at times.
The pace in SHADOW REAPER was on the slower side, but I really loved all the action scenes. I really enjoyed the fact that Mariko was bad-arse on her own and was able to completely and fully protect herself and those around her and although Ricco wanted to protect her, he LET her protect herself.
Although SHADOW REAPER wasn't the home run that SHADOW RIDER was for me, it was still a great addition to the shadow world. I learned a lot more about the world and the characters and it made me love all the characters even more than I did before. I will be stalking Goodreads until book three goes up so I can add it to my wishlist.
* This book was provided free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Shadow Reaper was fast, fun and full of some really steamy romantic scenes.
Ricco, playboy, racecar driver has become a serious topic of concern with siblings. Recently, he barely survived a deadly crash and they aren’t sure he did it on purpose.
Mariko’s brother was kidnapped and the only chance she has at saving him is to carry out the worst crime by a Shadow Rider, kill another Shadow Rider, Rico.
Unfortunately for the both, they are destined mates. Rico must uncover Mariko’s secrets before it’s too late. While Mariko must choose between Rico and saving her brother.
This is second book in the Shadow Rider series, and I feel like we are barely scratching the surface of this “Shadow Rider” world.
Feehan fan girl here. I've read everything that she has written and that is no lie.
To say I was pumped about a new Shadow Rider series installment would be an understatement, so with greed anticipation, I delved right back into the Shadow world with Ricco's story.
I love the family dynamic of Ferraro family and highly enjoyed the romance.
My only complaint, I did find the telling a little repetitive. I mostly found the character's emotional/internal issues caused this hangup.
Pushing that little issue aside, I can't wait for more and didn't want the book to end...with it being over 400+ pages that is saying something.
I received this ARC copy of Shadow Reaper from Berkley Publishing Group. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Christine Feehan’s 2nd book in the Shadow Riders series is a non-stop, no holds barred, trip into the world of the Shadow Riders, an awesome I couldn’t put it down story, the twists, turns, and ultimate truth will have you on the edge of your chair.
Justice comes from the shadows or is it revenge………
As a child, Ricco was sent for training away from his family, what happened during that time has colored his whole life. Secrets never to be spoken otherwise all that he loves could be lost. He’s tired of the life he is living but sees no way out, or is there?
As a child, Mariko watched the destruction of her family with the exception of her brother. She has been plagued with nightmares of that time. In order to save her brother, she is given a job to kill the person responsible for the destruction of her family. But is the man she has been sent to kill the true destroyer of her family or is she being used by another for revenge?
Only Ricco holds the truth to what happened that night, does Mariko dare trust, believe, and do the honorable thing. Will she be his salvation or death? Can these 2 lost souls each find it in their hearts to believe that they are worthy of love and happiness?
As the truth unfolds, secrets are exposed, justice is served but will it be served at the expense of Ricco and Mariko finding their true happily ever after? I’m not telling ?

Second book in this series and I found it was better than the first. I gave the first book three stars and even though I enjoyed this book more it just didn't tip to the four stars for me.
I found sections of this book very repetitive, to the point of skimming some of the story. Once something is explained and explained well, there is no need to go over and over the same information.
The saving of this book for me was that there was plenty of action, gruesome sometimes, but non the less great descriptive action and an interesting story-line. (All be it a bit predictable)
The characters were likeable, Mariko was strong yet vulnerable and got stronger as the story unfolded. Ricco, playboy and master of rope tying, is actually more caring and deeper than his reputation suggests. I liked reading about the art of rope tying and found I could imagine quite easily how Mariko looked once Ricco had finished. Some of the other characters are coming to life as well. I loved the banter between the family members especially when they are all gathered at Stefano and Francesca penthouse.
I would recommend this book and I do find myself looking forward to reading the next one.

Shadow Reaper - The second book in the Shadow Riders series. Ricco has a dark edgy side that you found in Shadow Rider and you knew you wanted to find out why! Here is your chance.
What I truly love about this series is the absolute sense of family ties for the Ferraro clan, from the siblings to the cousins and the ties to the neighborhood and how they all matter. The respect they all have for Stefano and the love he clearly feels for his brothers and sister.
Ricco has been carrying a dark secret his entire adult life, one he finally has to share with Stefano and his family. He has done everything he can to try and protect them from something that happened when he was a 14 year old sent far from home to train in Japan. Forces are coming together to try and eliminate them or is it just Ricco? Enter Mariko, a woman of mystery, one who has her own demons to get through. Will she and Ricco be able to work together to get beyond their past, will she be able to put trust in Ricco a shadow rider who is being blamed for a brutal act? Who to believe, the family who took her and her younger brother in or Ricco who seems to look at her and see something more, more than anyone, including herself has ever seen.

This is the 2nd book in the Shadow Rider's Series. This story, as its predecessor, focuses on the Ferraro Family of Chicago. Where Shadow Rider focused on Stefano Ferraro, the head of the fmaily, this story focuses on his brother Ricco. In addition to his skills as a shadow rider, Ricco is an expert in ropes and the knots he can put in them for both erotic and mundane purposes. Mariko, his destine mate, loves to be tied up, so she his ideal subject for the erotic uses of ropes. And his rope skills and shadow riding ability make him ideally suited to investigate problems in the Ferraro territory. Read Shadow Rider for the introduction to this family and their "business." Read Shadow Reaper to find out more about this extra ordinary family.

I absolutely loved the first book in the series so I was very excited to read SHADOW REAPER. While I liked the story, I didn't really like Ricco and Mariko. I felt that their relationship developed too fast and was missing something. I had a difficult time liking them. They weren't written badly, I think it boils down to the phrase: "It's not them, it's me."
I did enjoy the storyline very much and I am hoping against hope that Emme's (the only Ferraro sister) book is next! She has a complicated past with one of the characters in this, and the previous book. A sort of Romeo & Juliet/West Side Story kind of vibe that I'm DYING to find out more about!
I definitely think readers will enjoy the book. Please don't let my nit-picky hangups about Ricco and Mariko stop you from taking a chance on this exceptional and exciting book! SHADOW REAPER can be read as a standalone but I'd recommend you check out book 1, SHADOW RIDER, first. Stefano is super dreamy!
I voluntarily read a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own.

Shadow Reaper is definitely an improvement over Shadow Rider in regards to the gender politics. Yes, Ricco is a bossypants much like Stefano, but I'm pretty sure Mariko can kick his ass. The relationship felt equitable, and the characters felt like a better match in personality and skillset. Love that the brothers feel like different people and not just clones of the same stereotype.
Much needed evolution of the shadow rider mythology and community happens in this book for those who felt the first book lacked worldbuilding. A deeper exploration of the Ferraro family and the neighborhood they protect.
This series is a fascinating commentary on the mentality of Italian/Sicilian immigrants and how they fit into the fabric of American life.

Shadow Riders, Mariko & her unknown saviour Ricco. Both from great Shadow Riders Families, especially unknown to Marriko's Family, hers is legendary.
I'm going to input my 1 niggling negative Pointer & that is there's areas where there's repetitive a little too much in a couple of areas.
But forget about that. This is another great piece of work with the shadow blenders & these 2 connect even though she was going to his on a mission, which turns around when she sees he's not the person she's been told he is. And he knows why she's there but he has to have her.
So here we have ANOTHER GREAT piece of work by the fabulous Christine Feehan, where we've got lots of action in BOTH the physical & sexual sense. but heck the sexual IS SO SENSUAL.
REALLY RECOMMEND IT

Bought this at the box store because I saved $2.00 I still like real books, and I think it's ridiculous to pay full price for Kindle. I keep buying these, even though I say every time that I won't buy another one. Problem is, I really like the plot and concept of the shadow riders. Actually, I really like the plot of most of her books. I just find them so freaking repetitive. She has really turned to the dark side of sex, and I just don't identify with men who can only get off on rough or kinky sex. I was not a 50 shades of gray fan either. Yeah, a few tender moments...and hours and hours of bondage. I felt like if I had to read one more time how he tested the rope for splinters and was so careful not to mar her beautiful skin, I was going to gag...Do you really have to describe the whole process every time? I have felt for years that her excess verbiage is just to raise the word count. Still, a must have for die-hard fans.

Absolute love how this story developed -
The family is back and this time the story revolves around Ricco -.
After his accident, Ricco decides to concentrate on his art and places an ad for a model - in walks Mariko -
Ricco knows she is his "one" - the woman he needs more than his next breath- but he also can sense something with her is not what it seems- he knows he is placing himself in the line of fire -but he can't let her go -
Will this woman be the catalyst that unveils Ricco's past placing him and his family as well as the people they protect on a collision course with an enemy that may prove to be more than they can defend against?
You will have to read and find out.
I love how Feehan brought such beauty to the art of shibari in this book -wonderfully researched and beautifully detailed.

This is the second shadow rider story in the series. This is Ricco’s Story! During his search for a rope Model he encounters a beautiful woman who instantly connects with his shadow! As Maiko the model soon realizes Ricco isn’t the playboy she thought he was. When he finally comes clean and tells his family what really happened when he was 14 and training in Japan! Soon after his family comes under attack! While some are injured they all decide to go on the offensive. This was a very action packed book with some romance. It was the best shadow rider book so far. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series

Not very good. Pages and pages of repetitive filler. Love scenes were boring with page after page of the H tying the h in various rope scenarios with maybe one or two paragraphs in the never ending pages actually involving sex. I don't want to do shibari but I kind of know how at this point thanks to the overwrought pages detailing the set up.
Entire pages were repeated over and over again. The heroine is weak and annoying and soooo beyond perfect. Why would she feel any kind of sympathy or affection for the crazy nut job woman who took her and her brother in and was nothing but nasty and hateful to the heroine? It is not a bad thing to not like somebody who abused you over and over again! She feels so bad for this woman who physically attacks her and yet manages to kill several people in the story without ever flinching or having any feeling about it at all.
Hero and his family are interesting but heroine and cut and paste type writing drag it down. Tighten up the story (editor!) and it could be half the size but twice as good.

What can I say about this second story in Christine Feehan's Shadow Riders series but Holy OMG! This book has so many ups, downs, twists and turns I didn't think I was going to survive the reading.
After surviving a horrific accident, Ricco Ferraro realizes he must inform his family about a dark secret he has been harboring since he was a teen. In the meantime, a mysterious woman enters his life which really mixes things up as she is harboring her own secrets. Can Mariko and Ricco work through their troubles and survive to find their HEA?
This series is all about family, the love and respect they have for each other. We got a taste of that in the first book but this one really illustrates what the Ferraro family is all about. Each member will dig his/her way into you heart and never let you go.
If you want a story that will twist you up, down, inside out, make you laugh and cry (possibly at the same time) then you need to run out and get this book as soon as it is available!!!!! I highly, highly recommend Shadow Reaper!!!!!

I'm enjoying this new series by Christine Feehan. The second book was good but there was a lot of the same wording over and over again. The rope thing was confusing to me, because obviously if you don't know anything about Shabari, you cant really see it un your mind and i shouldn't have to do research to read a book. Other than that I'm still looking forward to the next book in this series It did take me a longer time to read this one when normally I can finish a book in a day. I will however never see myself NOT reading Ms Feehan. Every book of hers I've enjoyed so a few annoying things will not deter me from reading her stories.

I have every book from the dark series and the drakes and sisters of the heart. I am a FAN. I just can't get in a romantic mindset when the author talks about innocent people getting chopped to bits or repeatedly talking about someone stomping on a baby until their bones go crunch....maybe it's just me....Also, I never saw the romance in tying someone up for pics...and you have to "get" that.

This is the 2nd book in the Shadow Rider series. I was getting annoyed at all the silly interruptions, (like sleeping and working) that I had to deal with when reading this book. I suggest locking yourself away from all distractions when you pick this book up.
Ricco May play hard, but he feels empty. He wants what his big brother has. A woman to call his own. Enter the Mariko, will she do her job or will she listen to her shadow and give Ricco a chance.
Together they make a formidable team, but they both have a past that is willing to destroy them. This book left me torn apart and with one heck of a book hanger! There were many twists and turns that kept me guessing till the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rocco's story! I found the rope art fascinating, googling quite often to see images - very interesting aspect, Christine! No, it was NOT BDSM, it was a peaceful uniting. Well, the last one was quite sensual, but that was all. All of the characters were involved in this book, which I really like to see their progressions. Someone said that there was no plot, but I strongly disagree! The plot actually stated in Stefano's book - the revenge of two Japanese shadow riders. I look forward to her next book!

Christine Feehan has created such a unique series with her Shadow Riders... a sect of humans with the paranormal ability to "ride" shadow tubes, which allows them to travel place to place very quickly and undetected. The purpose of the supernatural Shadow Riders is to mete out justice to the derelict and deserving, usually those operating in the underbelly of society. In this second installment of the series, the Ferraro family finds itself the target of a dangerous plot which will see them suffering injuries and death before all is said and done.
If you have read Shadow Rider, you will remember that Ricco Ferraro was the darker and more mysterious of the Ferraro clan. He was broody and dangerous and reckless. After a near-death experience (one of many it appears), Ricco's family lays down the law that he has to shape up or Stefano will take him off the Rider rotation. This drives Ricco to look for a rope model that will allow him to lose himself in the art of Shibari. Ricco was the Ferraro whom I was most drawn to in Shadow Rider, as I have always had a thing for the dark and broody bad boy. I liked the amount of character development that we had for Ricco. The things he went through as a teenager, and the level of stress and responsibility he felt thereafter definitely created a level of despondency and desperation for our hero. I am impressed that he he held it together for as long as he did. But when Ricco finds his matching Shadow Rider, things are not going to be smooth sailing - especially as she has come to kill him.
Mariko Majo is a tortured heroine who has sought Ricco Ferraro out of desperation. The victim of a terrible tragedy at a young age, Mariko was raised by a woman who loathed her. She is looked down up on in Japan due to her gender and mixed heritage, and is treated abominably by a bitter and somewhat mad harpy. Luckily Mariko was allowed to train as a Shadow Rider so at least she has a small outlet for her stress, which was necessary given the self-esteem and self-worth issues that were created by her childhood. I understood Mariko's issues and my heart went out to her... but sometimes I wish she would have considered Ricco's words and actions instead of getting caught up in her own head. Otherwise, she was a sympathetic heroine and you feel bad for her most of the book.
This series falls into the fated mates trope, so once our couple finds each other, the relationship proceeds forward at a steady clip. I do think that Ricco was patient with Mariko and allowed her to become used to him instead of pushing her into something she wasn't ready for. There was a good amount of sexual tension between the couple, which was only amplified by the Shibari sessions. I thought the art and bondage aspect of the story was interesting, and got my curiosity involved enough to be Googling the various Shibari terms, poses and rope patterns.
At times, I found the plot conflict to be more interesting than the romance. In fact, I thought some of the Shibari sessions and sexytimes were a bit too long and I started skimming them to get back to the storyline. Mariko was sent to find the Ferraros on a pretense, and I liked solving the puzzle and conspiracy along with the characters. The investigation into past events and present problems was broken up by bouts of action and danger, which helped advance the plot and keep it from dragging overmuch.
I continue to like the inner workings of the tight-knit Ferraro family. I like to see them get together to argue, tease and bond with one another. I am eagerly anticipating the next book, and wonder which Ferraro Feehan will deliver next.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher, Berkley.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher, Berkley.

Got my book, started reading and just wanted to keep reading! How dare dishes, cooking, laundry and friends interfere with my reading! lol I never thought I would be jealous of someone's relationship, but I am so envious of the love and trust between Ricco and Mariko! To have a love that binding would be a blessing a thousand times over. And the plot just twisted and turned and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through! In my next life I want to be a Shadow Rider in the Ferraro family!

This is a great addition to this series! Ricco and Mariko’s story is fast paced and full of action. It definitely throws you for a loop towards the end which only makes the book that much better. I absolutely love Ricco and I think Mariko is the perfect match for him. This Shadow world is so different from other PN books and it is great to have a new world to explore! I definitely recommend this series!

I have read every one of Christine Feehan's books. She used to be my favorite author. No longer. Now her books seem to be all porn and no content. I am very disappointed in Shadow Reaper. I'd say 80% of this book is about sex and maybe 20% is an actual story. It seems she keeps repeating the scenes over and over again.

Excellent read, the twists and turns are great, and the family....I want to be a Ferraro. This was a fast pace action oriented book 2. I am not one for detailed sex in my books, not anymore, too old. It was well used in this book, and I cannot penalize an author for something I don't care for when the book is so well written. Kudos to Christine Feehan. I cannot wait for the next book, actually any book she writes :) I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Once again, Christine Feehan sacrifices tight storyline for meaningless sex. Although, this book did have more storyline than a lot of her other recent books. Like other reviewers, I found myself skipping over the pages and pages of sex waiting for the story to pick up again. I used to love her books, loved the paranormal/otherworldly characters and adventures. I wish she'd get over this obsession with sex and go back to telling a good story.

Family is not solely defined by genetics. Different cultures have different opinions on this in our reality as in the Shadow Riders world.
Loving, hating, abusing, nurturing, attending to or ignoring.
Is being protective always a good thing?
So many answers to the questions Ricco's family had were answered here. As well as glimpses into the justice system of the Rider society of families.

I used to love Feehan's work but sadly this series is so hard to read for me. I skipped paragraphs sometimes even pages. It seemed so forced no real chemistry between the main characters in both books. Just a lite meet and greet then wham two seconds later its destiny I love you. This is a series I will not continue I rated three stars, because I loved the idea she had for this series.

Awww Ricco could be so sweet, “how is it you aren’t with a man? You’re beautiful. You’re intelligent. You’ve got an amazing voice. I could listen to you talk forever.” Ricco has his woman pegged, “there it is. The other thing women say that is total bul*****. If it was ‘nothing’ you wouldn’t have gotten that particular look in your face.” I liked this book, I found Ricco to be one sexy man.

This book was amazing. It had me from the beginning. How much crap Ricco went through to the very end to find a killer. I thought I knew who it was but was so wrong.
Then there's the rope tying. Christine makes you feel like you are there with the model watching.
This was an amazing story and I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you Christine for another amazing story.

After enjoying the first book in this series this story did not disappoint me in any way and I can not wait for the next one. I could not put it down and will reread it again to see if I missed anything the first time. The original characters mature and grow while the new ones blend in. This book tells a fantastic story which explains the code of Shadow Riders and what happens when that code is broken. Also the burden Ricco Ferraro carries from childhood to his current age. Outstanding Story from Ms. Feehan. Waiting for the next one...

Oh my Christine Feehan can make we love just about anything, shadow riders, ghost walkers, men and women who can harness earth elements. Shadow Reaper is another great work by Feehan the characters are captivating, the dialogue crisp and the enjoyment all-encompassing.
I'm so looking forward to the next book in the series. I hope it's Emmanuelle and Val's story.

I like the stores but really could care less about the authors side trips exploring sexual fantasies. I don’t mind skipping a few pages of sex but it seems like lately I’m skipping half the book.

I am really enjoying Christine Feehan's new Shadow series. Shadow Reaper is book 2. As always, there's a good mix of romance and action. She also mixes up the strengths of her heroines, and in this book, the lead female character Marika is as much a warrior as the hero. I hope we don't have to wait too long for book 3!

I like the idea of shadow riders. This story and its predecessor introduced it to me. It's something different. Then the rope art was an added note of interest. I really enjoyed this story, and Christine Feehan books in general! This was a mafia style story with intense hot scenes. If that's your cup of tea, I recommend!

It has been with interest that I have read other reviews. The plot starts out well but the erotica! I skipped a great deal of this. What happened to Feehan? Did she have to add all this smut or did she run out of action? Loved the first book in the series. It definitely is a reread. This o e is going to get a rest.

...but... after having read Feehan for years (and consider myself a fan of her work), I am finding a disappointing pattern. The storylines are still intriguing (I would give them 5 stars for that) but the content has become filler. It's as if in between the book outline idea, the narrative is repeated over and over (I say to myself, ok I get it). Actually becomes fatiguing until I reach the next section when the story progresses. The idea of this shadow rider series is marvelous. I hope anyone reading her more recently released books will take the time to find her earlier work (Dark Prince, Dark Desire, The Awakening, Wild Rain, Burning Wild) and give them a chance. They are marvelous.

A little too much background. This story seemed like there should’ve been a prequel before delving into this Ferraro family story. Was ready to give up reading until halfway through the book. I stuck with it and it was much better.

I liked the story but there was way more sex and sensuality than I felt the book needed. It sort of felt like 50 shades of grey. The story was good though and it had a very nice ending if somewhat surprising. I had figured it out though. A little too much foreshadowing.

I purchased the audiobook of this and returned it after about 2 chapters. Ugh. Very disappointing. I enjoyed the first book in this series, however I find nothing remotely sexy about letting some guy tie me up. The fact that's what it takes to get his motor going is kinda sick from where I am sitting. I find female characters that are strong and independent much more appealing. Bondage just isn't sexy - to each his own I suppose. I think Christine Feehan is stuck in a rut of basically the same type of storylines/characters book after book. I hadn't gotten one of her books in a while but took a chance on the first book in the series and as I said, liked it. Was hoping to like this - not so much. Save your money on this one.

This is the second book of the Shadow Riders series. I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first. We see the family working together more. Both the male and female lead contribute. Yes he’s dominant but at least she brings more than docility to the table. There’s plenty of sex and violence. There’s character and relationship development prefacing future books.
This book is reminds me of the Ghostwalker series. I’m looking forward to the next.

I would recommend any of Christine Feehann's books. They always capture you at the beginning and keep you so engrossed time pass's to quickly. I am sorry I finished this book because it will be awhile before the next one comes out. The story behind the Ferraro family is intriguing and keeps you guessing. Love it!

Loved the action and shadow riding so fascinating. I just could not accept all the ropes as an art and sexual. Kind of reminded me of 50 shades and I didn't like that book either. Just not a good Feehan read this time around.

I really liked the first book but the second one was just boring I could barely get through reading it, I just skipped over chapters until I found out who was after the family and why. I'm glad I didn't waste the money on this book and just got it from the library.

Not good. I got bored reading it, and the whole book seemed clunky, other than a few descriptive passages. The plot was all over the place, as were the characters. I finished it only because I hate not finishing books, but it was not enjoyable.
Please RateShadow Reaper (A Shadow Riders Novel)
I enjoyed the family feel to this and their little neighborhood in Little Italy in Chicago. The shibari was beautiful, and was not a bondage/BDSM thing, more rope art.
There's a great mystery in it, suspense and of course romance
