A nice quick easy read that answered some lingering questions many readers have had. As always I find myself looking up the places mentioned to help paint the picture in my mind. Is it too soon to ask about book 11?

I pondered for a brief moment whether to assign 4 or 5 stars to this book. I think it’s important to look at Home Coming as part of a series, not a standalone. Additionally, if you’re reading book 10, I’ll wager that you have read books 1-9 and either enjoyed them enough to continue or have an unhealthy, masochistic addiction (seek professional help).

Book 10. First of all, congratulations! Quite an accomplishment.

The author’s story writing ability remains outstanding. He is able to smoothly stitch many plots/sub-plots together seamlessly while keeping you entertained with colorful language and the expected but it never-gets-old comic relief.

The story of Morgan and his community will continue to float in your brain long after you finish this installment. The author has a knack for developing characters you care deeply about and book 10 only reenforces those feelings further.

Two facets where I feel this book fell short. One: level of suspense. There were too few “I can’t put this book down now” moments.
Two: character development. While many new characters are introduced and that is never a bad thing, the foundation characters felt a little stagnant. However, my greatest criticism would be, why not devote more time exclusively to the new characters while our heroes take a “rest” (after books 1-9, they definitely deserve it)? I finished the book knowing many new names but with no idea who they really are. Maybe this was by design. The fan in me wants to suggest book 10.5 here to tell their story.

Note to the author: You have many fans. I am certainly one. Don’t let anyone rush your art. Michaelangelo didn’t have people standing below him shouting, “Is this one finished yet?!? When are you starting your next chapel?!”
The Shock (AFTER post-apocalyptic series, Book 1) :: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller (EMP Survival Series Book 1) :: Happy Doomsday: A Novel :: A Post-Apocalyptic Action Thriller - The Alpha Plague :: Books 1-5 - The Phantom of the Earth - An Epic Sci-Fi Saga

This book is only 215 pages!!! All his other books have been over 300 to over 500 pages. Not only that the price has gone up to almost $16.00!! I have been an avid fan of this series always could not wait till the next book came out. NO MORE! I refuse to pay $16 for 215 pages. You have lost a follower.

Another very good book in the Survivalist Series. A. American continues to impress and now, Book 10 is quite a milestone in the story of Morgan, his family and friends. Some really good dialogue, more than a few laugh out loud moments, and as always a good helping of intense action and gritty realism. This book does have a feeling of wrapping things up to it, so I wonder what direction future books will take. But there are still plenty loose ends with this story, so can hope there will be at least a few more in the series.

I feel like I am revisiting family and friends every time I read an installment of The Survivalist series. Book 10 was no different. Morgan and company have become familiar characters, so much, that I feel like I know them. And as such, I almost hold my breath when I think something bad is coming, or worse, a character is going to die. There are very few authors that affect my emotions (happy, sad, anger, nostalgic) as does A. American. I can't wait for Book 11 to be released, and at the same time, I'm sad because I know each book is one more closer to the series end.

A. American, that you so much for providing us with great entertainment and some serious thought as to our own preparations for what could happen to our lives and country.

Finally,Morgan gets what he has wanted for a year.Brought tears to my eyes.Still lots of drama to entertain with.I know there has to be at least one more book or novella so we know what they do with that loud mouth colonel. It's so good to see things coming together and giving a glimpse of how it could be.Mike finding someone is the biggest surprise and Ted also. Now if only Dalton could. He is such a hard man and seems he gets the jobs nobody else wants. These characters have all grown on me and seem like friends. This author has a way of bringing them to life and making you feel you actually know them.Even the animal characters.I love he included Ruckus and how everyone takes the time to help raise him.Looking forward to his next book!

I have some mixed feelings about "Coming Home." I struggled with the slow start. At 10 pages in I had to wonder if this was a different author. But, I continued to read. Finally the pace picked up and seemed more consistent with A. American's established writing style. The book was good....maybe not quite as good as others in the series. There is a abundance of foul language in this one....more than necessary. Readers finally get a view of Morgan's parents. I would have liked to see his mother portrayed with a bit more strength of character in recognizing the situation. I wasn't a fan of "oh, we can't leave our home, our neighbors and friends....yada, yada, yada." Looking forward to the next installment!

I have really enjoyed this series. I feel like the characters are people I know. The author does great with bringing them to life, and showing what might happen to us all in a national disaster. I do wish the book at been longer. This one felt like it was ended to soon without as much content as the others have been. It was still good to read, just wasn't as developed as the others have been.

Great continuation of Morgan’s story! This is book 10 and it is good that the author was able to continue developing the story line while still giving a nod to the past books. A highlight to my having family that lived in that area for years, is the way he describes the small towns and the national forest and springs that are there. I can’t wait until the next book to see what happens with Morgan, the Old Man and the crew next!

When I first started this series I was unsure how the story would play out. I stayed with the story and have fallen in love with some of the characters. The original players are still my favorites but the new ones are a huge plus to the series. By adding this new dynamic and the uncertainty of what the Russian solider knows will hopefully mean more books will be written. Listen up A. American! If you're new to the series read them all and enjoy. I can't wait for #11!

With each new book I find myself binge reading it and immediately get right back into the personalities of all the characters. Hence the one problem I have with this series, now I have to try to patiently await the next one! Great job again and keep them coming.

Great characters, realistic but uplifting storyline. I feel they are friends after "going through" so much with them. Glad this book is more positive and hopeful. Great to see their efforts and sacrifices paying off. Love the series. Thanks so much AA !

I love the characters old and new. I usually read these books in a matter of days as I just can't put them down. The grammatical and missing word errors have significantly been reduced as well. I highly recommend this series to everyone that is seeking excitement.

Tragedy keeps the homestead and communities in dire need of peace and tranquility. Fighting the Russian and Cuban forces keeps Morgan, Sarge, Dalton and crew on edge after devastating losses in Eustis. But continue to survive they do. Awesome read.

I read a lot of this style - this series continues - book after book - to carry a story and great characters . Many series fail after 2 or 3 in my opinion. I would suggest to anyone start with the first and enjoy. Will not be a waste of time.

A great book. A.American never diisappoiints. I hope this doesn't mean they end off a great. Series. I'm would. like to see the
story expanded to maybe up the St. John's river. So many different possibilities..

Although I generally feel the book could use a better review phase for spelling and punctuation I really can’t be critical of these books or this author, they hold my focus, I always finish them in one sitting even if my sleep suffers for it.

I love the characters in this series. I hope that this is not the end of the story but if is, like a fairytale, everybody lived happily ever after. Or did they? We will have to wait and see. Awesome job. Ending makes me want to cry

I've thoroughly enjoyed this book series. One of the best I've read. I was hooked with the first book, and eagerly anticipated the ones that followed. The characters are so well developed, and you're left feeling like they're people you actually know. I'm sad it's done. Guess I need to start the series over!!
