Once again Jennifer L Armentrout has me staying up late to read. It’s a common occurrence when I read her books. Start and finish. Why? It’s the experience of reading one of her books.
Her books always include incredible characters, real stories, great writing and that something more. Always that something more. And I walk away trying to decide what's this magic that only Jen seems to be able to use to craft a story of complete perfection.
Characters. I love this series and all the varied characters that feel so real that I expect to find them at the local IHOP eating pancakes on Sunday mornings. The whole cast is around in this one and I loved getting all the updates on them after a long period of time has passed. But the characters that held my heart in this one were Brock and Jillian.
Jillian is quirky and a book lover. She’s been through a life changing trauma and it’s time to get her life back. Clearly she hasn’t been herself since most of her books are living at her parents house! Say what? She brings them home. It’s okay, no worries. But I love her insecurities and her self talk. It’s real and I loved it. I was so happy for her as she started making choices to get back to her life. It made me happy. Except for Grady. That didn’t make me happy. At one point, I yelled at her and texted Jess. WTH are you thinking, women!? But, alas, I shouldn’t have worried because Brock was BRILLIANT. Brilliant I say!
Brock is a gem. He did something that he just can’t take back. He truly wishes he could. But he will have his friendship back with Jillian. I adored all the little things we discovered about him. What he’s been doing. What’s been important to him. I loved him. Yes, I was not happy about a fiancee. What is that?? But that too is okay. And actually, I was so happy about how everything worked out. Brock brings her pumpkin lattes and other treats. He doesn’t give up on her. And at one point, he wouldn’t leave. I wanted to hug him! Well played Brock. Well played.
As you can tell, I loved their story. These two have been friends ever since they met when she was 8 and he was fourteen. No one knew the other better but then that changed in a horrible fashion. And Brock wants it back. Jillian doesn’t. It’s real. None of the circumstances that make their story are contrived. I could see it. I did see it as it unfolded on the pages of this book. And that’s the art of this author. Her stories live on the pages and hold me captive until the very last word.
I love the characters. I love the story. I love the writing. And I really love that something more, the JLA magic. I try to define it but it seems impossible to put into words. All I know is that her books don’t feel forced. They feel real. The story develops genuinely. The couple gets time to be a couple. The details are resolved, it’s complete. And I always know these characters are real. They’re my friends because I’ve gotten to know them. It’s a perfect pattern that works so well to create a sleepless night.
You’ll want this one. You’ll be happy in the pages of this book. You’ll love these characters. You’ll cheer for them. You’ll sigh when the last page is done. And you’ll be sad that this book is the last in this series. But the good news is that it’s not the last JLA book. Many more of those to come, thank goodness.

I enjoyed the other books in this series however I detest the characters in this book. The male is arrogant and pushy and the female character is always whining and does whatever the guy tells her to do. Her character has no backbone at all. there is also little action and long sections about how she feels (whine, whine, whine). If you like an interesting strong female character and a male character that has some depth don't bother reading this book. Wish I had never purchased it.

*SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD* I was really looking forward to this book, I love when the heroine has something horrible happen to her and she rises and over comes it. Did not see that in this book, she was such a weak pushover, i mean I know what she went through was no easy feat but she had no fire in her at all, easily let the main guy into her pants without any groveling what so ever, he was acting so smug about everything, made me want to slap him. Too many frustrating scenes to get past, especially how her mother just told him everything that was happening in her life when she specifically said she wanted nothing to do with him, her mom claimed he was family so apparently its ok to betray your daughter who was brutally shot and trying to recover =__= just pass on this one, it was hard to write this because I have loved some of J. Lynn's other work.

Jillian Lima has been just existing for the past six years...safe job, safe men, hiding out, and insulating herself from life. She had heartbreak and a traumatic event that left her with self esteem issues, fears, scars, and insecurities. But she has decided that she needs to start making changes and begin to live again. And she is starting by finally taking a job at her father's famous MMA Academy.
Brock "The Beast" Mitchell has led a busy life as a two time heavyweight champion. But he is now settling into a business position within the company owned by the man that saved his life and helped him become a champion. He is alpha, smart, funny, and pushy. When he decides on a course of action, he does what he has to in order to make it happen.
Once upon a time Jillian and Brock were best friends and she had the world's biggest crush on him. But he was older and had his own agenda at the time. Circumstances tore them apart and she was left hurt and he was left feeling guilty. And they parted ways rather than deal with the repercussions. But now Brock is back in her life and is happy to push her into really being part of his life again.
He wants his friend back, but their chemistry starts heating up. She is afraid of getting hurt again and has a really hard time believing how attractive she is. He still has lingering guilt and some secrets. Neither have really been living to their full potential due to their shared pasts and pain, and they have to find a way to let it go and trust that the other will be there as a safety net.
They both have a fire in them and are survivors, but it was snuffed out due to guilt, loss, and the fall- out from the events in their past. But together they have the ability to stoke those embers, develop a slow burn, and perhaps finally experience the intensity and of a full and happy life.
This is told in Jillian's point of view and she was an easy character to like. She has been through so much and she feels imperfect and flawed. But she is kind, smart, and has an inner strength about her. She has been in love with Brock since she was a child so he is hard to resist, especially when he puts on the charm. But she has understandable anxiety and fears.
Brock is cocky, charismatic, built, and has a good sense of humor. He's also got a deep and sensitive heart, and is protective and caring. It was impossible not to like him despite the fact that he made some mistakes.
She is trying to live a new life and challenge herself to take more risks. But are his feelings based on real love or is he just trying to relieve his guilt and make up for the past?
I loved them together. They had a fun rapport, common interests, and a slow build of sexual tension and hot chemistry. This was a sweet, heartfelt, second-chance, friends-to-lovers story of two people truly deserving of hope and happiness. But it was also an inspiring tale of finding self love, empowerment, opening up, letting go, and letting someone in. It was not very angsty. There were some minor present conflicts, but most was about both of them coming to terms with the past and their own issues and trying to move forward. It had enough humor, passion, and camaraderie to balance the negative situations that affected them.
My favorite part of this story was how it encompassed all of the couples we have come to love as they were all mentioned or featured in this one. It was like coming home and hanging out with a whole group of friends who have struggled, but have found their happy-ever-afters. I was a bit sad that this story did not have an epilogue, but in reality this book is also an extended epilogue for the whole series since we got to catch up with everyone. This was a great ending to this emotional, heartwarming, and passionate series.

Jennifer Armentrout does it again! This story is just the ending I've been waiting for. Not only does it wrap up the Wait for You series perfectly, it's the perfect second chance story for both Brock and Jillian. I loved getting to know Brock, and Jillian as much as I loved catching up with the previous characters from this series. Armentrout is queen of writing slow burning romances, snark, wit, and plenty of sizzle. There's never a dull moment in this story.
History has a funny way of repeating itself. When it comes to Brock and Jillian, there's a lot of history. Not only were these two inseparable, they were each other's everything. Friends, support, and so much more. I loved that these two get a second chance, though it's not going to be easy. I love the way these rekindle their friendship, which leads into so much more. Their chemistry is hot, and their friendship/relationship is something so sweet and swoon worthy. There's a lot that happened between these two, and a lot that's happened since they last saw each other. Now ixx years later, it's not a fluke that Brock is back in life, and this time to stay.
There's no denying that Jillian and Brock have chemistry. Boy do they have it. I loved that Jillian didn't rush into anything, even though it's obvious that Brock is the one that gets her all hot and bothered, and in a good way. She's guarded, and learning to let go, and live her life. I loved that for all the chasing Jillian used to when it came to Brock, it was his turn to chase. My word, this man knows what he wants, and he will do everything he can to get it. I loved that he not only proved to Jillian he meant everything he said, he allows her the time she needs, and helps her not only live again, but proves to her he is exactly what she's always wanted.
Talk about a slow burning, sizzling romance. While the chemistry is immediate, the romance is drawn out, and it's oh so hot. I loved that. During this time Armentrout gives us more story, and more of the history between these two characters. It's perfectly paced. I love that Brock was confident, determined to not only win Jillian over, but prove to her he's the man she's always loved. I love the way he romances her. Jillian, for all she's been through, is incredibly tough, and doesn't rush into anything. Over the course of Brock romancing her, she gains this strength and confidence she's hidden over the past six years. I loved seeing grow into the women Brock has always seen.
Brock and Jillian both have an inner fire, and strength that they've always seen in each other, but now they start to see it for themselves. I loved seeing how both of these characters have grown. They are both such strong characters, and together they're even stronger. I love that the growth and changes they make are something they both do on their own. It just makes it so much sweeter that the end result is what it is... a happy ending.
Brock and Jillian's story is just as well written as the rest of the characters in this series. This book isn't just a reunion for Brock and Jillian, it's one that fans of the series will love, as they get to see all the characters back together again, and how they're all doing. I loved seeing all of them back together again, and how they're all doing. If you're a fan of the Wait For You series, you need to pick this book up! Like each of the books in the series, I love how it is it's own story, while also complimenting the previous books in the series.
This was just the book I needed. It made me sigh, laugh, and love every moment I spent with Brock and Jillian. If you're a fan of happy endings, pick up this book!

I wanted to say this was a second-chance romance, but it didn't quite fit that mold--the lovers hadn't had a break-up, per se.
Jillian Lima and Brock Mitchell have known each other for twenty years. That's when Jillian's father took Brock, as cast-away kid, off the mean streets of Philly, and raised him as his own. Brock was 14, Jillian was 8, and she idolized her burly new housemate all her life since. When she got into high school, she was more than gone for him, and she spent hours, days and weeks caring for Brock when he was injured in mixed martial arts competitions.
See, Jillian's father has run the Lima Academy in Philly her whole life. He trained Brock to become a world-champ MMA fighter, and Jillian always imagined a life working at the Academy, and building a life with Brock. But, Brock always saw her as a little sister, and discounted her youthful love to infatuation. Plus, he didn't want to upset her father by dating Jillybean, who was too young to be acceptable.
Six years ago, when Jillian was nearly 21, she went out with Brock, thinking they were going on a real date. For this naive gal, putting on make-up was practically a novelty. Still, the night wore on and more and more of his friends, and sexier women, showed up, and he bailed, sending her on her way without even taking her for the dinner he'd promised. It broke her heart, and the criminal who attacked her on her way home broke her spirit. It took over a year to finish off the reconstructive surgery she'd needed, but her world had long since imploded.
Now, she's ready to start her life over again--at 28. Jillian has accepted a position working as an assistant GM at the Martinsburg, WV, Lima Academy. It's a huge pay raise and will help her finance the trips she'd always planned to make but never did. Only, she learns on her first day that the GM for the facility is Brock. Dealing with him on a day-to-day basis is frustrating. She's hardly put all her mixed feelings behind her, and learning that Brock's no longer engaged does funny things to her emotional state. There's no doubt the attraction still exists, but she's not capable of moving things forward in any way.
No matter. Brock's flirtatious and fun, with a significant amount of complimenting his Jillybean. He's determined to win her heart, and his dear friend, back.
It's a bit of a slow burn--lots of Jillian agonizing over her fears and incapacitated by her mortification over her longstanding love for Brock. She knows he knew, and she's trying to be professional. Still, he chips away at her defenses relentlessly, making everyday forays into her personal sphere--even interrupting a date, cordially, as if he'd "happened" to be in the area. It looks like their lives take the same course, but there's a wee bit of conflict near the end. Both Jillian and Brock have to learn to let go of the past, in order to grow into a future together. I thought is was a low-conflict read, with a nice development of the romance. Brock and Jillian have a good, solid history, with a loving family that supports their budding relationship. There's a bit of sexytimes after the halfway point, but much of it revolves around Jillian learning to love herself, changed as she is after the attack.
External conflicts finally hit within the 90% mark, and it seemed a bit late, especially as Jillian mostly had to settle those on her own. She does develop a bit of strength way at the end, though I'd wished to see her fierceness a lot sooner. That said, Jillian and Brock do develop the love of their lifetime by the end of the book.

Fire In You was the perfect conclusion to the Wait For You Series! Watching Jillian and Brock's story unfold reminded me yet again why Jennifer Armentrout is my favorite author. You see she writes these characters that embed themselves deeply into my heart. I feel every single emotion they take on, and I become completely invested into their lives. And Brock and Jillian did just that. The chemistry between them was insanely seductive and their story continually pulled at my heartstrings. You must meet them!
Jillian Lima has known Brock 'the Beast' Mitchell since she was eight years old. Her father took in a fourteen year old Brock and helped him straighten out his life. They became the best of friends, and Jillian was always Brock's little shadow. She adored and loved him with her whole heart, until the night he shattered it and then her life was ripped apart by a gunman. We start the story six years after that horrific night, and Jillian is finally ready to start living her life again. She accepts a job at her father's company, and even agrees to go out on a double date with Cam and Avery. BTW you get to see ALL of the people from the previous books, and yes it was beyond amazing seeing where they all were in their lives! But Jillian isn't prepared for Brock to come back into her life. He isn't part of her plan for living again, and she truly isn't ready to face him or her past.
From the moment Brock walked back into Jillian's life and crowded her in that hall, I was a goner. Brock makes you want to fan your face, laugh and melt into a puddle while you have a goofy grin on your face. Okay maybe that's just me, but he's seductive, charming and I desperately wanted him on every single page of this book. With his take charge attitude and an alpha personality he knows exactly how to push Jillian outside of her comfort zone. Especially when he would say the right things, or touch her oh so perfectly. Her traitorous body loved it, while her mind fought it. Yet Jillian isn't the quiet little girl he once knew . She stands up for herself at times, and it impressed not only me but Brock too.
Yet Jillian still feels hindered. She has nightmares and she's self-conscious about the way surgery changed her features because of that night six years ago. I felt not only her frustration but her nervousness and at times her fear. I just wanted to give her a huge hug and make her understand that she was enough. To tell her to have faith in herself and see how wonderful she was. But as the story progressed, I became so proud of how much she grew. And for how much strength she found in herself.
While I loved watching Jillian and Brock in the present....you have to read the restaurant scenes because I can't stop laughing every time I think about those times..., we also got to peak into moments from their past. Whether it was a flashback to the night where everything went horrifically wrong or to a story from when they were much younger, we got to see their whole relationship. We fully understood what they meant to each other. It made perfect sense why the story proceeded in the way that it did. Oh my gosh, I could go on and on because I loved every part of this story but I'll let you discover the rest for yourself! Just know that I laughed, I cried and I fell madly in love with Fire In You! Jillian and Brock completely captured my heart and I promise you'll fall hard for their story too.

The Wait for You Series by Jennifer Armentrout/J. Lynn has been one that I've thoughly enjoyed, and this last book, Fire in You, does not dissapoint. After suffering a terrible tragedy, Jillian Lima has been a recluse of sorts. Scarred by her trauma, she has been kind of living life on the outside looking in, but not really participating. Yes, a part of that is because of the scars she has suffered on the outside, scars which have long since healed. Then, there are the scars on the inside, those caused by the man who broke her heart, who was also her best friend. Unfortunately, those scars have seemed to heal only to be ripped open again time and time again. Now 6 years later, Jillian is ready to start trying to live again, taking a job at her Father's company, vowing to once again enter the land of the living and put the past along with all that it entails behind her.....that is until she sees "HIM" again. Jillian is thrown for another loop when she shows up for her first day at work only to find out that her boss is the man she is trying to move on from.....Brock Mitchell himself, in the flesh, hotter than hot, and more beautiful than she could ever imagine.
Brock Mitchell has realized the mistakes he's made, especially those regarding Jillian, and he's ready to make things right. He's also missed his best friend, the girl he has desperately tried to think of as a little sister, only Jillian Lima is not so little anymore. Brock also has to admit that he hasn't thought of her as a sister for a long time, and is determined to have her back, even if he can only have her as a friend. Brock is older now, more mature, and realizes the mistakes he's made, putting 6 years of mistakes and the person he made them with behind him, ready for a fresh start.
Fire in You is their story, a story of redemption, of friendship and love lost, then found again, of trust lost and trust regained, and of a passion that burns brighter and hotter than a wildfire. I loved Brock and Jillian's story, and I enjoyed getting to see the other characters from the previous novels in the series make an appearance as well. The only thing I would have liked is for it to go on a little longer - didn't want to see it end just yet, though it did end well, That said, Fire in You was wonderful and definitely one fans of the series, fans of the author, and contemporary fans in general will most definitely want to check out.

Jillian Lima has been hiding from the life she thought she would have after a tragic accident changed everything, leaving her with physical scars and emotional heartache. An offer from her father has her facing the future for the first time in five years, stepping back into a position with the family gym she grew up around and looking forward to moving on with her life.
Brock “the Beast” Mitchell grew up rough. The Lima house was his safe haven and the bright spot that formed him into the man he is now. Jillian was his best friend, despite their age difference, until the night he let her down. He has carried the guilt and tried to move on, but he can’t really move on without her. Now that she’s back in his life he will fight to show her he is not the same man he was.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Even in Forever with You, it was clear there was something between them. Now that they have grown up, the fire builds from the moment they come face to face for the first time since Jillian left after the accident. But they both have secrets to deal with and fears to face.
They also have their shared past to deal with, as misunderstanding and unthinking caused so much pain for them. They are both survivors though, and their struggles give them an inner strength to tackle their present challenges.
Beyond the heat and hurt between them, it was fun to watch their friendship rebuild. Each meant so much to the other before they were estranged that it was only natural for that bond to develop again when they let down their walls.
It was so much fun to watch the other couples in the background that have come to mean so much to readers. As this is 5 years down the road, it is even more fun to see where the different couples are in their own lives. Some of the couples are closer to the action here, while others only receive mentions, but it was a nice way to round out the series.

Emotional. Heartbreaking. Intense. Beautiful. Addictive.
I could probably say that for all of Ms. Armentrout’s books and I don’t think it would be enough. There is so much passion and heart on every page, there is NO WAY you could put it down. This author always delivers and with FIRE IN YOU, she gave us romance at its finest.
Jillian is a character that you root for over and over again. The tragedy and pain that she has suffered is completely heartbreaking. When her childhood crush walks back into the picture, all of the feelings come rushing back ten-fold. She is stronger now. She will do what it takes to stay clear, because once upon a time, he broke her heart, and she will be damned if she lets him do it all over again.
Guilt. So much guilt. Brock was there the night Jillian’s life turned upside down. He knows how she felt years ago, and yet he pushed her away. She was young and so damn innocent, and he never wanted to taint her. In the end, he made her run away. He left her alone and vulnerable, and he has never let go of that guilt. When an opportunity arises to go back home, he takes it and he makes an effort to put himself in the line of fire with Jillian Lima. He is ready for a fight. He is ready to take what has always been his. But he’ll have to let go of the guilt in order to be free with her.
OMG! My heart is so full after devouring this book. So many emotions. So many feels. Jillian and Brock, two damaged souls, but so RIGHT for each other. Hope, redemption, love, and second chances…FIRE IN YOU had it ALL! I will NEVER get enough of this series. They are all must reads and instant re-reads. Beautiful characters. Beautiful chemistry. Beautiful storyline. What more could you ever want?

Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my favorite authors and I’ve yet to read a book by her that I didn’t love, so it’s really no surprise that I loved Fire In You. Jillian and Brock are great characters and I really loved catching up with our other couples from past books. I’m really sad to see this series come to a close, but Fire In You was a great way to say goodbye.
I absolutely adore Jillian. I knew from the start I was going to like her. I related to Jillian in a lot of ways and that made me love her and the story even more. My heart broke for her and her backstory but I was also so proud of the way she turned things around. I also loved Brock. He is very easy to fall for and is just easy to love. He is determined and clearly a good guy and he is so swoony. You really root for these two. Their chemistry is insane and you want them to have this second chance.
With this one, I especially loved the buildup of the romance. It really builds and then the payoff is worth it. I also loved Jillian’s family and the way they embraced Brock as one of their own. I’m a big fan of friends to lovers and second chance romances and this one kind of delivered both, so it’s no wonder it was a hit for me. I also loved her cat Rhage because of course I did.
It’s always fun catching up with previous couples and I loved seeing how far they’ve come. It makes my heart happy seeing how happy they are and how their lives have turned out. I am seriously going to miss every single one of these characters.
Fire In You was a hit for me and it was a great end to a great series. Brock and Jillian have a great story to tell and romance fans will love this one.

Unrequited love.
The flame may flicker but it never goes out.
I loved this story is was heartwarming, sad, funny at times, hot and captivating.
Fire in you is told In Jillian's pov, how she first met Brock when she was just 8 years old, the day her dad took Brock in, fed him and gave him a room, trained him at his academy to be a fighter with Jillian as his shadow always there for him, crushing on him, loving him until the day that all changed.
The author cleverly keeps you guessing as to what may of happened the night Jillian received scars, with flashbacks in time, the night she let go of Brock and as the story progresses you get little snippets of what it could be.
After 6 years of hiding away in a dead end job, Jillian is propositioned by her father to work at the academy with an offer she can't refuse. Jillian has reached a point in her life were she needs to experience life again after the incident other than arguing with her cat so she takes the job.
What Jillian didn’t expect was to be working with the one person she had been avoiding for years, Brock.
My only misgiving with this story was Brock.
Even knowing Jilly had loved him for years he never shared his feelings from when they were teens to redeem his A- hole ways, even when he said he wasn't with her out of guilt from what happened when they finally get together, I still wasn't convinced and that's a shame Brock was on his way to my bbf shelf, I mean hot ex fighter, tattoos, possesive ways, I was fanning myself but if only he had said words along the lines of I had always loved you but.........
or I realised I loved you years ago when.....
but that never came he only claimed to love her when he saw her again and with that admission he gave me doubt.
Anyway despite how I feel about the outcome with Brock & how I wish the story would of gone, I couldn't put this book down, I so desperately wanted to find out what had happened to Jillian, I eagerly wanted her to find happiness and I loved that she finally got a hea, not the full hea wedding bells, kids I was hoping for but a hea none the less.
I felt it lacked an epilogue not all story's need them but I felt this did. Did Brock prove himself? i'le never know.
A childhood to adulthood love story that was at times moving and contained everything I love in a contemporary romance read.

Jillian Lima’s entire life changed six years ago when a gun shot led to her moving miles away from her family and no longer living but existing in a void. Losing herself was hard enough but losing her childhood best friend Brock Mitchell and the person she had loved with all her heart made it even worse. Brock has felt guilty about what happened that night since he should have been there for her like she and her family had been there for him and after that event he felt like Jillian no longer wanted him to be there. Now years after the separation, Brock is determined to get to his former best friends life.
This book is kind of mixture of second chance at love and friends to lovers. I really adored Jillian, I truly felt for her but at the same time I admired her because she goes through a lot of development in the book to be in a place where she feels happy and loved, a far cry from the woman in the first chapter.
I ended up really liking Jillian and Brock even though he drove me slightly crazy (and Jillian) with his behaviour at times. They had these moments where it was so easy to slip back into friendship that I found adorable (and I love those moments because its presents a shared history) and while it’s a slow burn its done really well and it was very satisfying to see them finally end up together.
Quibbles: I wished we had gotten even a chapter from Brock’s POV from his friendship days with Jillian /after the night because I felt like I was missing the intensity seen behind his emotions/words since from Jillian’s POV it seemed like he was an ass earlier with his behaviour and I wished there had been more grovelling involved.
The first one will *probably* always be my favourite from this series, just because their was just something very special about that one to me so it was great seeing Avery and Cam again and seeing them being so happy with their children made my heart melt.
All in all another win by J. Lynn (Jennifer Armentrout) and a great enjoyable read for anyone who’s a fan of Jennifer’s and likes new adult contemporaries with damaged leads.

So sick and tired of female characters that get s*** on and as soon as the guy wants a second chance she cannot resist him. At least make him work for it.Seriously. I LOVED the books in this series but this one makes me so mad.

You know what I love about a Jennifer L. Armentrout novel? Everything. There’s romance, there’s humor, there’s drama, and did I mention the romance? It’s always exciting to dive in to any of her books but I was particularly eager to get started on Fire in You, first, because it’s the last book in the Wait for You series and second, because I’ve been intrigued by the pairing of Brock Mitchell and Jillian Lima since they were first introduced earlier in the series. There are few things I love more than a friends-to-lovers romance, but when that romance is unrequited? That just might be my literary weakness. I couldn’t get enough of this book, which is essentially food for the romance-lover’s soul. My not-so-inner hopeless romantic devoured every page of this swoon-worthy, blush-inducing second chance love story from start to finish.
Is it just me or does the fact that a heroine is a bookworm automatically make her a likable character? From the moment I discovered that our heroine, Jillian Lima, named her cat after one of my favorite members of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, it was pretty much love at first sight, and I only liked her more as the narrative progressed. While previously being content to spend her time with her nose buried in a book, Jillian is determined to break free of her rut and bring excitement into her stagnant personal and professional lives. Little does she expect that her thoughts and emotions would be thrown into upheaval by the arrival of Brock Mitchell, the man she pined after for years, but who never returned her feelings. Of course, with Brock and Jillian, things aren’t as simple as two individuals reconnecting and making the leap from friends to lovers. That would be too easy. What we get instead is gut-wrenching angst, unresolved issues, and a heaping amount of sexual tension. Soooo much sexual tension.
Watching Brock and Jillian dance around each other, bantering flirtatiously and teasing each other in a way that close friends who know each other’s innermost secrets do, it’s impossible not to get swept up in their burgeoning romance. There’s something so intense and magnetic about the bond between them that I was glued to their every interaction. Even the most seemingly innocent kiss on the cheek is a pulse-pounding display of passion. The chemistry between Brock and Jillian is scorching hot and near-palpable, but they also have an emotional connection that’s soul-deep. I found their story to be sweet, poignant, and hopeful, especially when you take into account their history and what they’ve both overcome,
At its heart, Fire in You is a story about forgiveness and moving forward. It's about love and friendship and self-discovery. On its own, the book is a charming, entertaining romance, but as the Wait for You series finale, it’s so much more than that. There's a hint of nostalgia combined with the thrill of seeing so many familiar faces whose Happily Ever Afters I’ve witnessed. I appreciated that Jennifer L. Armentrout concluded the series on such an uplifting, beautifully optimistic note, providing a fitting farewell to an extensive cast of characters I’ve come to know and love.

My Thoughts:
Jennifer Armentrouts' novels always make me giddy! Like a child with my favorite candy, I devour her books! Packed with so many feels, her stories are truly a moving emotional experience for me. This is why she is one of my favorite authors. Each of her stories is unique, but no less alluring and beautiful. I have loved the Wait for You Series, but Fire in You is my favorite. It was a deeply touching story, that was packed with so many swoons and feels.
In Fire in You, we finally get Jillian and Brock 'The Beast' Mitchell's story. I have been highly anticipating and impatiently waiting for this story! Jillian has been a recluse for the last six years. After a traumatic and horrific experience, her life was forever altered. Robbed and shot in the face with a gun has left her with facial damage, and the loss of hearing in one ear. After extensive reconstructive surgery, she is still self-conscious of the way she looks.
Jillian hasn't been truly "living" for the last several years. After her childhood crush broke her heart and she got shot, she dropped out of college and moved away. She rarely see's her friends and family, and her life consists of work and spending time with her anti-social cat, Rhage. She's only been in one relationship, with a man that she was with because she was lonely. When her father offers her a position as Assistant General Manager at his new mixed martial arts facility, (with great benefits and an amazing salary,) she says "yes." Jillian decides that she wants to start "living" her life again, and is very excited about her new position.
When she begins working at the new Lima Academy, she is shocked and very upset to learn that Brock is the new general manager. Her parents purposely neglected to tell her this information, and her father lied saying that he was looking for a GM. Jillian contemplates quiting her job, but quickly decides she'll be a professional, and avoid Brock aside from her professional duties.
Jillian's father, Andrew, rescued Brock from an abusive home as a young child and trained him in MMA. For many years, Jillian and Brock were very close, and everyone said that she was his shadow. However, Jillian developed feelings for him, while he looked at her as no more than a little sister. The night he broke her heart, she cut him out of her life, and hasn't talked to him since. She is done being naive, and knows that the best way to protect her heart from being broken again, is to stay clear of Brock. However, he has other plans.
Brock misses the friendship that he had with Jillian. She has been there for him more than anyone else, and no one knows him like she use to. He feels a lot of guilt for what happened to Jillian, and is determined to make amends. However, as he gets to know her as the woman that she now is, he can't help but fall in love with her more and more each day. She is strong, sassy, and a true survivor. Can he convince her to take a chance on love with him?
Fire in You was a phenomenal read. Jillian wasn't the typical romance lead, and I loved her. She was real, and relatable. She had been through so much, and was truly courageous in trying to live again. This story was told soley in her point of view, and she was a thoroughly flushed out character. I felt empathy for her, and being inside her head made me feel so close to her. I felt her fears, excitement, and hope. I loved Jillian, and nobody deserved a happy ending as much as her.
Brock was an amazing character as well. He was patient with Jillian. He gave her space when she needed, but never gave up on her. Brock was sweet, thoughtful, caring, compassionate, and aware of what Jillian needed. He was a great friend to her, and I missed these two together immensely! They were soul mates, and I was glad that I got to experience their reunion.
My Rating:
Fire in You was a powerful story about survival, and making the decision to truly live. Our heroine was courageous, and full of a fire that she wasn't even aware of. We went on a journey of self-discovery right along with her. The desire and sexual attraction that Jillian and Brock shared was palpable. Yet, what they meant to each other was so much more. Their love story was packed with "feels," and kept me rapidly turning the pages.
Fire in You is a five star favorite, and on my top 10 best books of 2016. I give, Fire in You, by Jennifer L. Armentrout, 5 Powerful, Full of Feeling, Deeply Touching, Beautiful, Fire Filled Stars! I loved Jillian and Brock's story, and was so happy to be reunited with the rest of the Wait for You cast of characters!

As a longtime fan of Jennifer Armentrout, of both her pen names, I am always the first to jump on a new release. Fire in You was no different, it was a compelling romantic tale that had amazing characters, beautiful writing, and a story full of emotions.
Jillian's life changed in one night, not only did she get her heart broken, but an even larger physical trauma occurred, one that pulled her away from her family and her life. She's taken years to get back into some sort of groove, and is looking to start fresh by taking a job at the family business, but Jillian doesn't expect her ex friend, the man who broke her heart to be waiting at the office for her; and she doesn't know what to do about it.
Brock realizes the mistakes of the past, he knows the damage he's wrought between himself and Jillian, and he knows that it haunts him. He also feels guilt for being part of the reason that Jillian backed off from her family, and in an effort to undo that damage, he wants to fix things, he wants to be friends again. I really liked Brock, you could feel his guilt, his pain at what he did, and you can tell he truly wants this second chance, but that he also believes he doesn't deserve it.
The passion between Jillian and Brock has survived all this time and whether they want to admit it or not, their chemistry sizzles. They've got a lot of history, a lot to work through, and secrets they've hidden, there's a web of deceit that could mean more than the end to their second chance at love.
What I love about the books in this series are the flawed characters, there is always some thing to work through, some hidden pain, some trauma, some dragon that needs to be slayed, but the characters aren't sitting back and doing nothing, they don't dwell and they don't whine; though its obvious that they also haven't forgotten what happened. Armentrout has a way of pulling me into the story, a way of making me see both sides with clarity the characters themselves can't see when they are deep in it. Jillian and Brock are no different, in that I was compelled to know more, to know all of the details, to analyze it all and pray for the best because the remaining feelings between these two, their friendship turned love, their explosive chemistry couldn't be denied.

Jillian was just eight years old when Brock came into her life. Taken under her father's wing as a troubled fourteen year old boy, Brock seemed like the only one to really see Jillian. She became his shadow as they became best friends. As Jillian matured she waited for the day that Brock would see her as more than a little sister or a friend. Just when she was certain that day had finally come, tragedy strikes and changes Jillian forever.
Six years have passed and Jillian is living a quiet life, one with out risks - and without Brock. All her dreams and goals were put on hold or set aside six years ago but she's finally ready to make a fresh start. Quitting her boring job at a insurance company and taking a position at Lima Academy, a successful MMA training facility owned by her father, is a step in the right direction. The Academy is her father's legacy and has always been a part of her life. What she doesn't expect is Brock Mitchell, now the general manager at the Academy, back in her life. Not only is he now her boss but he also seems determined to regain the friendship that was abandoned years ago. Friendship... and even more.
It was so easy to feel for Jillian. Jennifer L. Armentrout is a master at creating down to earth, relatable characters and Jillian was no exception. Her background was revealed slowly with flashbacks interspersed throughout the first half of the book and it was the perfect way to get to know Jillian while slowly learning what the event was in the past that made her so self-conscious and intent on keeping others at arm's length.
Brock was a total alpha force to be reckoned with and it was impossible not to fall for his cockiness and charm - and his won't-take-no-for-an-answer attitude when it came to Jillian. Even though he'd achieved great success as an MMA fighter, he had his own troubled past to contend with. I loved the respect and loyalty he had for Jillian's father and the confidence and belief he had in Jillian.
The chemistry between these two was off the charts and I loved watching as they came together. Jillian had a lot to work through considering her past had left scars both physical and emotional and I appreciated her strength as she pushed herself to take chances and really start living again. Whether you have followed this series from the very beginning or choose to read Fire In You as a stand alone novel, you're sure two fall in love with these characters and their story as much as I did.

I gotta be honest, I'm feeling very sentimental as I sit down to write this review. I've been a fan of the Wait for You series since day one and I've laughed and cried my way through the series — sometimes reading the books even more than once — so it's a little hard to say goodbye to it now. But, it went out just the way it should've... with Jillian and Brock's story. It's one I've wanted for so very long and it couldn't be more perfectly timed.
Jillian did not disappoint. I loved her. It made me happy that she was moving on from her past and trying to really live again. She was a strong, amazing heroine. I wanted her to be happy, no matter how that happiness came. Brock, on the other hand, I wasn't a HUGE fan of. (He did grow on me, though.) I held his past against him more than Jillian did. For someone who was supposed to be a friend, he treated her pretty crappy when they were younger. It wasn't that he didn't return her affections, it was just that he, um, behaved like a boy. So I tried not to hold that against him TOO much. I think a lot of guys his age spend more time thinking with ... other parts ... than with their brains or hearts. If Jillian could overlook it and move forward, I suppose its only right I do the same.
Despite my initial reservations about Brock, I really liked him and Jillian together. I liked who Brock was with Jillian back in his life. I'm a total sucker for friends to lovers books, so it's really no surprise I enjoyed the two of them together. Their story felt real. I never doubted what was building between them. It didn't feel fake or forced. It was natural... like these two were coming home to each other after all that time apart. It was obvious how much they cared for each other, so swooned right along with Jillian.
Fire in You was such a great book. I didn't want to put it down once I started. Jen's trademark humor and heart, as well as some steamy sexy times, made this one virtually unputdownable for me. I felt the feels and fell in love with the characters. I really can't ask for more than that! What a great end to a series that I loved so very much. I feel a series reread coming on... soon.
I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I love Jennifer L Armentrout books so when I heard about fire in you I was thrilled and even more excited when I got this book. I dived into this story as soon as I could and I loved it! Fire In You is another fantastic book by Jennifer L Armentrout
In this book we follow Brock and Jillian and I love them together! .Brock and Jillian have known each other for years however due to a tragic incident there friendship fell apart , six years later they meet again and this is really where the story takes off . Jillian has been through a horrible experience and she is determined to start living again I just loved that, characters like Jillian I don't see very often in the books I read, so it was refreshing seeing her like her in this story, she has been in love with Brock for so long in the past and she has had her heart broken because of that so seeing this man again you could just imagine the mixed feelings she has . Brock feels immense guilt for what happened to Jillian and he is honestly willing to do whatever he needs to ,to make it up to her and just to get back into her life. When they started working together at Lima Academy I felt like this was the most perfect thing for them because it created an opportunity for them to become closer again and it was just fantastic to seeing them together honestly every time I saw them in a scene together I was happy . The romance in this book was was perfect if I had describe it 3 words they would be sexy , sweet and swoonworthy .Honestly there were times in this book that they were just too cute for words, they were just adorable and perfect for each other , I was rooting for them no matter what happened in this book.
Seeing Brock and Jillian story play out over the course of this book was just amazing. I loved every moment of the story. I love all of these characters! and also that we got the characters from other books in the series ,we got to see what was going on in there lives now and it made me so happy . I'm so sad to see this series end and at the same time ! can't wait to see what J L Armentrout writes next. Fire In you is a sexy, sweet ,funny, heartwarming, emotional story. This book is one of my favorite reads of this year. If you love all of these things in your books I suggest you get a copy

I have mixed feelings about this book. Overall, this was a good 3.5 star story. To me, it wasn't great like the previous ones. In fact, this one felt like it had pieces of other stories combined into this one. I guess that's why it took a little longer for me to read, because I'd read something and it'd make me think of something similar to a previous couple. It felt too rushed as well. They went from being best friends, to not talking to one another for 6 years, become coworkers, then about a week later they're friends again, then moving onto lovers.
I liked watching Jillian become stronger and stand her ground, not be the doormat she once was. And that clearly worked for Brock as well. I didn't really connect with her though. Perhaps because I felt like there were pieces of Calla/Teresa/Roxy/Abby that made up Jillian. Either way, I didn't connect with her character as I did with the others.
I've always liked Brock and wanted to know more about him from previous stories. Finally reading about him left me meh. Sure, he's a nice enough guy, sexy, ripped, tatted, but again, I just couldn't connect with him. I couldn't understand his reasoning for the crap he pulled when they were younger. I wish there had been more...I don't know....groveling I suppose after everything that had gone down. Maybe it's just me, but if my best friend (who later admits he knew how she felt all along) treated me the way he did Jillian, I don't think I'd be able to just forgive him as easily as she did once he was back in her life. Then again, it'd been 6 years, so maybe that helped her.

Jillian Lima was an innocent eight-year-old when her father brought home Brock Mitchell who, at fourteen, has experienced more hardships than a child his age should have been through. From the moment she shares her teddy bear with him that first night he spends in the Lima homestead, the bond between them is made and over the years it strengthens into a friendship they both cherish. But as Jillian becomes a teenager and then enters her twenties, she feels something more for Brock. Unfortunately, he can't seem to move past seeing her as a little sister. When Brock irrevocably breaks her heart, Jillian's life changes forever, inspiring her to leave him in the past.
Brock Mitchell would do anything to change what happened that night outside of Mona's, but he knows that isn't possible. In the years since, the girl who's always been closest to him has pushed him away, distancing herself from him, refusing to have any sort of contact. When she agrees to take her rightful place as part of Lima Academy, Brock sees it as his second chance to be the kind of man he should have been all along. But he's hurt Jillian more times than he realizes, leaving her jaded and wary of his intentions. How can Brock prove to Jillian that he's exactly what she needs and that she's the woman he wants and will they survive the onslaught of guilt, doubt, and anger?
It took me several chapters to get over my dislike of Brock. I mean, I didn't have any issues with him in the past books, but after they way he treated Jillian here and how cocky he was thinking that everything was going to be okay between the two of them when they started working together rubbed me the wrong way. I seriously wanted him to grovel and I was kind of hoping Jillian would actually make him work much harder than he did to win back her trust and affection. But the heart wants what it wants and I did like Jillian and Brock was okay later on, so all in all, Fire in You very much lives up to what the Wait for You series is about and gets four stars. I hope it isn't the last! ♥

A feel-good second-chances love story full of hope and heart.
This is the last book in Jennifer's Wait for You series so I was feeling quite nostalgic reading it. Even though I prefer her YA and NA paranormal books to her other work, I have really enjoyed this series and come to love all the couples - they are like long-lost friends at this stage.
One of the aspects I adored about this book was how much the other couples featured, especially Cam and Avery who are my all time fav couple. But we also got to see everyone else and they are all happily married and with kids or with kids on the way. It gave me tons of warm and cozy feelings to see everyone in such a good place.
I warmed to Jillian pretty much straight away - she has been through so much but she's a fighter and she's determined to reclaim the life she always wanted despite the tragedy and trauma of her past. Finally facing up to her legacy, she returns to the Lima Academy only to discover that Brock is back on the scene and there's no escaping him. He has been the love of her life since she was nine but he has hurt her in the past and she has deliberately kept her distance from him since the fateful night that tore them apart.
Brock has always had a soft spot for Jilly although he acknowledges that he has failed her and let her down. Now, he wants a chance to make that up to her and to prove to her that they truly belong together.
This was quite a slow-burning build up to their relationship but it was really sweet and full of humor and warmth and love. I adored it.
I did feel like it lacked a little depth in terms of plot and that's the only reason why this is a four-star rather than five-star review, however, I still think it was a great read and a very fitting end to a fantastic series.
When I pick up a JLA book, I always know I'm in for a good time and this reading experience was no different.
Highly Recommended.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book as supplied by the author's publicist. All opinions expressed are my own.

Jennifer L. Armentrout adds to my favorite series, Wait for You, with Fire In You and she rocks my world once again with her stunning characters and beautiful story. Writing as J. Lynn, Jennifer takes us on Jillian's journey of growth and facing her past love, her childhood friend, Brock.
I loved Fire in You because I feel like we all have that one true love that we never think we will see again, but sometimes we get that second chance. What will you do with that second chance. For Jillian, of course it was easier for her to get that second chance. Brock was the number one fighter at her father's fight training facility Lima Academy. Jillian just accepted a new job there, where Brock was now her boss. But Jillian wasn't ready for this second chance at first and how she handles it made me grin from ear to ear!
Jillian broke my heart at times. Her self consciousness made my heart crack and the reason because of it was enough to make me sob. But she perseveres and grows throughout this story and the way Armentrout shows it was perfection. She's awkward and kind of a pushover but she rises up and stands for up for herself and shows her courage and I always love that when I'm reading a fantastic book like FIRE IN YOU!
Brock, Brock Brock! I didn't like you very much when I first met you! You kind of ruined my girl Jillian and caused her a lot of distress, and then I thought you were kind of bossy and cocky... but then naturally I fell in love with you! I thought Brock ended up being an excellent support for Jillian as well. He cared for her and allowed her to grow although he hurt her.
In all I enjoyed Fire In You VERY much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good read with a lot of emotion! Another excellent book J. Lynn!

Lynn!

I can’t believe I’m sitting here, writing this review. The Wait For You series is one of my favorite series and to believe that this will be the last review I ever write for this series is kind of crazy. But I love this series so, so, so much and this book, Jillian and Brock’s story is definitely one that is well worth the wait.
Brock used to be Jillian’s best friend, a best friend she’d also been in love with, until she realized he’s never going to see her the same way she sees him. So, she moves on. Doesn’t talk about it, doesn’t want to hear from him. Jillian starts to live her life without Brock. And it works, for a few years, until she’s on a date and Brock happens to be back in town, in the very restaurant she’s at.
Brock came back for a reason. Well, a few, but one of them was he let Jillian go once and he’s not ready to do that again. She’s one of the most important people in his life and Brock is determined to hold on as tight as he can.
These two melt and break my heart. Their backstories had me sobbing and wanting to hug each of them and when they were together, I just wanted to smash their faces together. Brock, holy crap, this man will do things to y’all. I’m telling you. He’s going to make you not only swoon but lust. Get those pens ready to add his name to your book boyfriends list.
Fire in You might be the last book in this amazing, addictive, and touching series, but it’s the first fews chapters in the rest of the character’s lives. Especially, Jillian and Brock. And trust me, once you read this story, you’ll totally agree that no two people are more deserving of a HEA than this couple! I’m trying so hard to be vague because even though it’s a series of standalones, I don’t want to accidentally spoil anything, so just do me a favor and go read it when it comes out and come back to fangirl with me.
Deal?

I was looking forward to this book because. I love a good second chance romance book and JLA never disappoints with her books.
Brock and Jillian's story was so much more than a second chance "romance". It was a second chance at being best friends. A second chance at being with the one person who go you to your very core. A first chance in being with that person heart and soul.
Growing up, Brock and Jillian were a lot of things to each other, but they never crossed the line and became romantic. Jillian my have been in love with him, but Brock ensured he never crossed that line with her. Too much was on the line for him, personally. He'd found a family with Jillian's. He found a careers in training at Lima Academy. And he had his best friend in Jillian. He wasn't willing to lose any of that by sleeping with her and screwing it up. But what he had with Jillian was ultimately screwed up and they needed to figure out a way to work past that and remember exactly why they were so close to begin with.
I loved these two together. Brock brought levity to Jillian's life. She was too serious, too down on herself. She needed Brock to help her learn to live again. She may not have seen that, immediately, and couldn't see past the hurt Brock had caused her, but her eventually pushed past her walls and proved to her that she was worth every it to him. He proved to her that he'd grown up and despite what she thought, had always seen her.
This was a great ending to the Wait for You series. Each one of these characters had an inner strength that was enviable and while at the same time being completely likable. Brock and Jillian were no exception. Brock didn't come off as the superstar UFC fighter he was, instead he was approachable, funny and so in love with Jillian it made you a little jealous.

4.5 Stars!! Once again Ms. Armentrout gave me characters I quickly fell in love with and a story that captured my imagination and my heart. As I’ve come to expect in her books, the author gave me a strong leading lady who, although she’d seen tragedy in her life, was working towards rebuilding herself and moving forward. Jillian was smart, strong, and a nerdy book lover all at once. She’s attempting to put the past behind her when Brock enters her life again. He’s sexy, sweet, sensitive, and swoonworthy (yes, he gets all the “s” words). He too has been through a lot in his life and has made some big mistakes. He carries some guilt on his shoulders and is finding a way to deal with the past. The one thing he knows is that he wants Jillian in his life again.
And so he woos her…with lattes, treats…sweet words, and hard truths. I loved how he managed to lay his heart out for her to do with as she saw fit. He shared the difficult parts of his life and brought light back into hers. Yes…he definitely deserves all the “s” words. Together their chemistry was hot, completely undeniable, even if she was unsure about his intentions in the beginning. This was a great read with lots of fantastic characters, including those from the previous books, and a story line that kept me hooked. If I had one wish, I’d want to hear this story from Brock’s point of view. I know there’s so much going on in his mind and I’d love to hear it.
I’ve enjoyed so many of Ms. Armentrout’s books and this one was definitely met all my expectations. As always, I can’t wait to see what she does next. If you’re looking for a book with a little drama, a little angst, and a whole lot of romance, then this is definitely the book for you!

Jillian’s home was a refuge for Brock Mitchell. A place where he was given a second chance, a place where he found family, a place where he became “Brock, the Beast Mitchell”…a top professional fighter. The day Brock met Jillian’s father changed his life forever.
Jillian was Brock’s shadow, always in the wings as the grew into adult hood. Crushing on Brock would have been an understatement, she flat out loved him.
One fate-filled night changed it all. Barely surviving a brutal and deadly attack, Brock blames himself for not being there for Jillian while Jillian life was altered forever. Driving them apart, six years is a really long time to avoid each other.
Six years later, after much conjoling from her parents, Jillian agrees to come back into the family business, the training gym that was her life before the attack. Little did she know they were thrusting her back into Brock’s path.
Smoldering chemistry explodes, when the patient but commanding Brock finally sees what he’s been missing…Jillian!
Fire In You is a riveting, heartwarming tale of friendship, love, family and healing. It was a marvelous love story but when you add in Armentrout’s way of connecting characters to her readers, you have a contemporary romance that should not be missed.

I absolutly love J.Lynn her writing style is fantastic and compelling.
But this review is a get it of my chest one..
I did have some minor problems with this one.
For starters:
I get that you want to keep the mystery a bit longer but to keep giving a bit and then stopping.
It made me a bit frustrated. Like telling someone something and making them interested and
then stopping.
Second:
So how does Brock go from not seeing Jillian 6 years to falling in love the first encounter.?
I liked their connection, but still that was a bit weird.
So this Alpha wasn't my favorite, because who does something like that and then with Kristen or Kirsten I don't remember the correct name.
But overall it was a great story and it made me excited to read. But Brock is definitely not my favorite.
Jillian and Brock are childhood friends from 8 years and 14 years.
She has had a crush on Brock from the moment she met him.
But something terrible happened to Jillian and then another incident took place what made Jillian
move away and only came back after 6 years.
And that's where everything begins.
Still I would recommend this one to everyone, I would recommend the whole series they are fantastic!

Jennifer L. Armentrout has written a poignant story with Fire in You – it’s heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.
Jillian Lima suffered more than one great loss years ago. A horrible event left her with scars both physically and emotionally. Brock Mitchell’s dismissal didn’t help matters any. He’d been her closest friend and the man she’d been head over heels in love with, but he didn’t see her in the same light – or at least that’s what Jillian thought.
Brock felt responsible for Jillian’s fate and buried himself in that guilt for years. But when he and Jillian end up working for her father at the same time, he sees her – not as the girl that carried a torch for him and ended up in a bad situation because of him – as the beautiful, strong and determined woman that makes his heart expand with emotion.
The adventure between these two is filled with great feeling. Quite honestly, at times it is an emotional rollercoaster ride. Armentrout does an amazing job of creating two characters that faced adversity and came out on the other side stronger and better.
I truly enjoyed this story from start to finish. I give it 4 silver buckles.

Jillian Lima and Brock Mitchell grew up in the same house. She followed him everywhere, adored him, and he knew it. But it took one fateful night to change everything.
This book was exquisite, and everything you'd want in a romance. That unrequited love that Jillian goes through is heartbreaking and completely relateable. Most of us girls have had a crush on that hunk that you didn't think reciprocated the same sentiments. Jennifer Armentrout's ability to capture those emotions is what made my heart twist, and my stomach twirl right along with Jillian's when Brock re-enters her life.
Don't expect immediate action, but appreciate and love the gorgeous unfolding of delayed gratification that is completely worth it. Beautifully written with emotions that capture you from beginning to end, this book is what all romance should be.
I received an ARC for my honest review.

This was absolutely fantastic! Whatever I say won't express how much I loved it! This series is perfect! Jennifer L Armentrout delivers an emotional, intense, addictive story with a slow burn romance, perfect to make you swoon and melt!
I fell in love with Brock and Jillian's story. I felt sorry for Jillian and my heart was breaking for her. Brock was amazing, funny, protective, sweet and sexy! These two were like a fire...burning slowly...intense and passionate!
The plot was amazing and the writing phenomenal. I missed this author's writing and this one was exactly what I was needed and even more! If you are looking for a slow burn romance with funny and intense moments then it's definitely for you!

Jennifer Armentrout is one of my all time favorite authors. I've read every book by her and have LOVED every single one. I've been waiting for Brock and Jillian's story ever since the last book, and it was everything I wanted it to be plus MORE. Fire in You was beautiful, emotional, and flawlessly written.
I felt so much for Jillian and all that she went through. There's nothing worse than unrequited love. I just wanted Jillian to make Brock work for it to deserve her more, and well...let's just say this book ended with a huge smile on my face. :) Fire in You is definitely one of my favorites out of the entire series.

J. Lynn is my new favorite author! I simply loved this book. Jillian and Brock were two fantastic characters that get a second chance in love.
Jillian has loved Brock since forever but her love brought her nothing but pain. Now, she is determined to move forward but what happens when he is part of her life now?
Will he be able to see what he missed before?
Loved the honesty of these characters. I connected with them and I simply loved how the storyline progressed.
I highly recommend this!

Probably my favorite of the Wait For You series. Brock and Jillian are a great couple. They work through their problems and don't dwell on them for too long. When they have their big blowout it literally lasts a couple of pages and then they talk it out. That was probably my favorite part. They didn't run away and it didn't last through multiple chapters where they could have just talked and worked through it in 5 seconds. It ended on a happy note. I wish more books could be like this.

Jillian and Brock were good characters, I just didn't feel their story.
It didn't inspire any emotion in me.
Jillian's past dominated her present and seemed read like a device plot. At no point in the book was I curious to learn what happened to her.
The best thing about the book was catching up with older couples from previous books in the series.

I really loved this book! Friends to lovers is one of my favorite types of love stories and Jennifer Armentrout delivered a fabulous one. This was a slow burn romance that in the end healed both Jillian and Brock. Their journey was beautiful there were sweet and funny moments and it was great to see the other couples from the series too. This was a great ending to the series!

I immediately connected with Jillian and Brock. I loved these characters and the plot. The overall book was enjoyable, like all of Armentrout's novels. I want to mention that this book had a much more "adult" feel to it then the rest in the series, which I really enjoyed. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Emotional and heartwarming. Beautiful second chance love story between Jillian and Brock.
I must say that I was in for a few surprises. First, it was like a decade later from where we meat Jillian, only 17 at the time, and Brock in FOREVER WITH YOU. to me, It has a bit more mellow feel in the hotness of the book. Jillian is now 27 and Brock 34, so is very different from where WAIT FOR YOU series started with college kids.
Jillian always loved Brock but Brock always saw Jillian more like a younger sister, the daughter of his boss. Seven years after a force separation from Brock and a lot of hurt, Jillian accepts to work for his father and to her surprise, Brock is his boss. This is the time for him to see Jillian as a beautiful woman. Also this is the time to settle the past and seek redemption.

This was not my most favorite book in the series, but it was still good. I feel like the "drama" which came very late in the story didn't mesh with the rest of the book. Still some unanswered questions in my opinion. Overall it was good and I enjoyed it!
Please RateFire in You (Wait for You Series Book 6)
1....I didn't like how he hid behind Jillian's skirts and didn't own up to his part in what happened to her. Because he wasn't honest about what happened how he let her walk out of a bar at 9:00 at night by herself...he could have ran after her and at least made sure she got to her car safely and not to mention there were 2 cops there also who could also have made sure she got to her car. So he made a lot of money because he let a 20 year old woman protect his a** so he wouldn't lose her father's sponsorship....I have to wonder what her father would have done if he knew what really happened that night.
2....he showed how little he cared for her by bringing his girlfriend to Jillian's home for her family Thanksgiving dinner when she has only been out of the hospital for a few weeks. He knew she was going through a terrible situation and he throws this girl in her face when she isn't looking her best.....poor taste on his part.
I'm glad she told him off and kicked him out of her family home for he truly deserved what he got.
3...I didn't like how she was manipulated by both Brock and her parents...
4...I felt like when they met up six years later that he felt like he was only had to slap his fingers and she was going to drop in his lap the second time around...I especially didn't like how Brock bad mouth Grady and tried to ruin her last date with Grady..
5.... He was never completely honest with what happened during his time with Kristen....about the miscarriage and how she was calling and texting him trying to get him back....If you are trying to build a relationship with someone new you give some of your past history especially when your past and present are known to each other and things will come out... I really don't feel that Brock worked hard enough for Jillian and I really think Jillian should have made him work harder to get her. I actually found it hard to believe that all of a sudden Brock is so into Jillian after not seeing her for six years.
I also think Jillian was too much in her head and I really think her parents should have gotten her into therapy because she made too many decisions too fast after what happened. I wish she had come to the realization that she was letting life go by and not living as much as she could have done a few years earlier because I would have liked to have seen her move forward and get out with her friends and date more than she did. The author just made this too pat about her getting together with Brock as quick as she did.
