Lot of really good, clear information on how to improve one's health by using a plant based eating program combined with cutting out salt, sugar, oil, dairy products, and all or almost all meat. This plan works absolute wonders in an amazingly short period of time and brings a feeling of well-being that is worth everything. This is one of many books written by Dr. Joel Fuhrman and heals a world of chronic diseases when with adherence and commitment. Sometimes not as well organized as I might like, but the information is worth working through the book and following the plan if you want to cure your heart disease and many other things that ail you. I highly recommend it, along with joining Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live Facebook Group for support.

Reading this book is like sitting down with a friend who is also one of the world's leading experts on heart disease, thanks to the thousands of patients he's successfully treated and his 45 years of research, beginning as a very young man. Here you'll learn about a way of eating that virtually guarantees you won't ever get heart disease. Or, if you already have it, it can be reversed.

Dr. Furhman's case studies are inspiring and his footnotes back it all up. He gives you all the best reasons why you should eat more greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries, nuts and seeds. Not only will you be thin without thinking about it, you'll feel youthful and your arteries will clear. Of course, he advises you to be patient with your own taste buds. At first, reducing salt intake will be difficult, but as the salt receptors on your tongue come back to life, you'll find you like food better without gobs of it. In fact, everything that's good for you becomes so tasty once you've practiced it, that you will no longer crave the things that are bad for you.

Following his plan, my cholesterol dropped 90 points, though I was already thin and eating what most doctors would consider an ideal diet. I just had his "eggplant fries" with pasta sauce tonight. All I can say is yum!

The key to getting off the modern day medication merry go round. Takes years off your age and pounds off to boot. Should be mandatory reading for cardiologists. I have all his books, from day one. After the initial transition, one feels more alert, agile, energetic, clear headed - younger.

I followed the diet and immediately started to feel better. I threw away my high blood pressure pills. I did not tell my doctor. When he checked my blood pressure, he was surprised his medicine worked so well. I just laughed.

I thought it would be impossible to eat the Nutrarian way as laid out in the book but I've done it for a week and am feeling great. This book is a little more technical than I enjoyed but was reasonable to convince me to follow the plan.

I've been a follower of Drs. Esselstyn and Campbell and it is great to have Dr. Furhman on board as well. He has some slightly different views but this book confirms the fact that eating the right way can halt and reverse both cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. This book is a great investment in your health!

Saw the author on Dr. Oz, he presented some great ideas to changing life style and living
longer with very easy to make changes. Prime delivered the book promptly and I was able
to begin reading and get ready to over haul eating habits. The book has now been read cover to cover, which encouraged
me to head to library for the recipe book that the author has published and also I have investigated his website.
The author/doctor is very encouraging and by following his eating plan it appears that you can do nothing but improve
your health and end many issues that you might be experiencing.

Fantastic information. I'm about half way through the book and it's motivating me to make some serious dietary changes but ones I think could easily be a life long lifestyle. Dr. Furhman definitely shows that heart disease and many other diseases ARE curable through diet!

Diet may or may not end heart disease. Book doesn't really get into emotions like stress. Also Furham argues olive oil is heart damaging. Maybe it is, just wish I knew the truth, since everyone else says it's heart promoting.

Simply conveyed information everyone can easily understand, sourced from thousands of independent medical studies and scores of medical research efforts. The information in this book has literally changed the lives of my entire family, probably saved my life from a very debilitating disease of which there is no known cure. Our entire family has been empowered and all of us have rapidly been regaining remarkable health and stamina without feeling a single day of hunger or dietary unhappiness. Cannot recommend this book and this author highly enough!

Excellent life style plan to prevent and cure heart disease without medications. I have been a fan of Dr. Fuhrman's eat to live lifestyle for years, and have found that the longer I live without eating processed foods and animal products, the better I feel, both mentally and physically.
